a night out was just what he needed. his life was... awkward. the normal patterns were not showing up. he tried doing things that he would usually go to, the tricks he had tried in australia, but tonight he was so tired of them. whores were boring and liquor had lost its flavor. a therapist might say he was depressed he was but he didn’t go to therapists. the con man sincerely believed that he was only in a rut and needed a bit more time to get out of it. that;; and doing new things would help his predicament. so he dressed up. a buddy from work ( not super close pals, but enough to grab dinner with ) had invited him out to a restaurant, and he was in a mood good enough to say yes.

the decor was aesthetically pleasing, and not for the first time that night was he glad that he dressed well. they were businessmen, professional was their casual attire. it didn’t take long at all for ryan to find finn, the other gentleman had already grabbed a booth and was waiting patiently. with a grin, they shook hands, greeting professionally. “ thanks for the invite. i’m always looking for new places to explore. ” it was true—— he had heard of aalder’s once upon a time he thought of bringing kenzie, but it hadn’t happened. which, was a good thing. ryan didn’t know if he could be right here right now if that were the case. “ i don’t know about you man, but i’m starving. ” the two chuckled and finn pointed out some of the appetizers and offered to share. ryan was still hidden behind his menu, but offered an agreement. there was a loud sound of footsteps nearing their table, then stopping. ryan assumed the waiter had arrived, so he began an order, putting his menu down at the same time, “okay so first i think we’d like to share---” but his mouth dried up. it wasn’t a waiter. fuck him. he was baffled and prayed to any and all gods out there that the color wasn’t draining from his face. why the fuck was she here. just—— w h y ?? ryan couldn’t comprehend, but at least he was thinking enough to shut his mouth. fuck. fuck fuck fuck. he definitely needed a drink now.

        BASED ----- to say this wasn’t ideal was an understatement. it was actually worse than that. it was not only about the fact that this tour was stressing enough to plan, but now he had to deal with seeing her practically everyday because of poor last time decision making of his tour manager. if it wasn’t because king was giving the poor lad an opportunity, he would have gotten fired right away. one thing was to solve last minute issues and another was to be dumb enough to bring an ex abroad. whether they’d both be working, probably crossing paths inevitably every other day when the band had interviews, it still was a mess. feelings or lack thereof, always hit different when away from home. it sure will hitting them both different since neither of them had wanted to break out all those couple of months ago. now they were in this, jet lagged after touching down in paris yesterday. seeing themselves face to face for the first time ever since they acted awkwardly in the airport when they were home. kingston avoiding her when landing and worrying about locking himself up in his hotel room for the rest of that they. - he was changing sneakers when she walked in. old vans replaced with new ones for the photo shoot he had to do today. he had gotten there a little early, and now he was ready and just tying up the laces when crystal blue eyes set on her. ‘ hi ‘ he said, voice low as always. ‘ how are you feeling today? ‘ he asked and maybe he was talking about jet lag, or it was just him trying to be friendly. @atlcswrites​

❣ ━ If you could marry one fictional character, which one and why?

hector of troy. does he count? if not either james norrington or bail organa or fitzwilliam darcy. what can i say? i like extremely busy usually rich slightly arrogant men often with a lot of responsibility who don’t have much of a sense of humor (not openly anyway) are try to do what’s right even if they mess up a lot along the way. i’m 100% not into the lovable funny men you might find in a romantic comedy. i see a man being serious and minding his business and being a workaholic and i want to marry him. 

☮ ━ What do you do to try and get the muse to roleplay a character?

nothing. i don’t believe in having muse. i think due to things that happen in real life some days you want to write/feel more inspired to write more than others, everything else just comes down to being consistent. even if the post is shit, doesn’t matter, it got written, lets move on to better things. (easier said than done though, i know, trust me). lack of “muse” being a consistent thing is a symptom of something deeper than not finding the right words to reply to a post.

i also believe relying on muse to write leads to people always searching for the “high” of novelty of more plots instead of investing in the ones they already have. as someone who has adhd and struggles deeply with short attention span and being consistent, i know such behavior is a trap and i personally would rather not engage with it.

honestly i’m a very logical person so it’s less about having muse and more about “what’s the point of what i’m writing?”. if i feel like there’s no point i’ll struggle with it. that’s why i prefer angst to fluff, and why i can’t for the life of me write threads where the characters are just watching a movie or grabbing coffee. it might be cute, but unless the thread is super short and there’s a point to it such scenes are best left for drabbles. 

i’ll say, having certain songs on loop occasionally helps when it comes to writing some threads though. that’s how mariah carey’s we belong together made it to my top 50 on spotify lol

“ i would think that you’d know to refrigerate apple juice after you open it. makes it not get so sour so fast. or is that finn’s fault? ” again. ryan really didn’t like the other man. he was nice. he was a good guy. and he made ryan’s blood boil. so any time that he could make fun of him than he would. it was much easier at the office, when he could stop outside of his office and walk the short distance to mackenzie's desk whenever he damn well pleased. finn couldn't do that. finn was five floors down.

Arlo looked down to Kenz with wide eyes at her comment. He had only really had missionary sex before to be honest. He’d had a few romps with women in the barn, but it was never a prostitute, and they were always fully dressed. He was a good honest Irish boy, which was to say that he had been saving any sort of experimentation for his future wife. Once the vampire took that from him however, he supposed there was really no point in waiting. The devil had him already anyway. He listened, dropping down to his knees as he stared up to her, his hands gently pushed her skirt up. –He was still amazed with how much shorter dresses were becoming in the new decade.  With a bright pink blush he began gently kissing across her thighs as his fingers worked over her garter, helping to get her stocking unbuckled. He found himself waiting for more guidance, for her to teach him.
