໑ Do You See What I See by @allwaswell16 (T, 2k, acquaintances, veterinarian au, stray animals, vet louis) such a fun and sweet fic! Harry is so relatable because who wouldn’t want to see Dr Tomlinson as often as possible?

໑ If you like makin' love at midnight by Crlyhairedcunt / @larringiscaring (E, 2k, established relationship, domestic fluff) really cute story based on the “Piña Colada” song.

໑ Feeling, Fucking, and Falling in Love by imtiredanditswinter (NR, 2k, established relationship, historial au, pwp, read tags) i just want to make a disclaimer that even though the tags say “servant Harry”, it doesn’t mean there’s coercion for the things that happen between him and louis. having said that, this was very hot and if you enjoy smut with feelings, you’ll like this one.

໑ nights like these by localopa / @voulezloux (G, 3.7k, strangers to lovers, poor louis) this story has definitely give a new perspective (for me) to the song “Silver Tongues”. it’s so beautifully written and the angst is delicious.

໑ There's More Than Meets The Eye by @faithinwalls369 (NR, 4.5k, strangers to lovers, blind date, blindfold) such a sweet story abt a unique first date! the descriptions were so on point, and the characters were delightful!

໑ one chance (kiss him you fool) by localopa / @voulezloux (M, 5.5k, friends to lovers, 5+1 things, pining) this so fun and entertaining, and heartbreaking too with each time Louis’ intentions failed. i loved how the author portrayed Louis’ feelings.

໑ Hate is a Strong Word by kikikryslee / @flamboyantommo (T, 8.7k, coworkers, hate to love, office au) this was so entertaining and funny! i feel like what made it better was to have both POVs. if you enjoy the coworkers trope, you’ll truly enjoy this one!

໑ I Still Crave It by @germericangirl (E, 16k, strangers to lovers, a/b/o au, chemist harry, scenting) this was so fun! i loved Louis’ obliviousness of his own feelings and the ending was very sweet.

໑ i’m still standing (after all this time) by localopa / @voulezloux (M, 22.5k, strangers to lovers, music industry au, pop punk louis, pop harry, read tags and author’s note) this was so painful to get through but i knew it would eventually get better. just bare in mind the tags please. over all, there were so great nizouis moments and the chemistry between Harry and Louis was through the roof.

໑ Somebody's Got Your Trainers On (It's You) by bluegreenish / @greenblueish (E, 28k, exes to lovers (kind of), hospital au, nurse louis, doctor harry, read tags and author’s note) i absolutely loved this rendition of “Saturdays”, it hurt just in the right ways and the conclusion of the story was better than i could’ve imagined.

໑ The Prince Of Light by @jacaranda-bloom (E, 35.7k, strangers to lovers, fantasy au, garden fairies, world building, mentions of war, read tags) i don’t know how to express what i feel about this fic because it’s so precious! it made me feel warm all over, and it made me feel like living in a magic world. if you like fantasy, you’ll love this one.

໑ Where I End and You Begin by @starryhazelou (E, 42.7k, strangers to lovers, famous/non-famous, rock star harry, mua louis, please read tags and author’s notes) absolutely fantastic from start to finish. the characterisations and the details on the timeline and outfits were perfect. the tension between Louis and Harry was driving me crazy, and then the angst… it was the kind that gives you a weird feeling in your stomach, it doesn’t hurt (at least to me) a lot but it’s there.

໑ Darkest Before the Dawn by amomentoflove / @daggerandrose (E, 50.5k, enemies to lovers, university au, fashion designer harry, fashion designer louis, grief, read tags and author’s note) this was quite the journey. the tension between the main characters felt so real but i think what i liked the most about this story is the talk about grief. it’s a very sincere and realistic piece of work so you should definitely check it out.

໑ And What If I Were You by @jacaranda-bloom (E, 110k, exes to lovers, famous/non-famous au, actor harry, artist louis, blind louis) if there’s one thing you can expect from this author is to end up with a little piece of her heart with each work, and this is no exception. the story was so well structured and you can see the world through Louis’ eyes even if it sounds crazy, but the best part is that you can also see it on Harry’s and you, as well as him, will realise how normal is not for everyone. the art for the fic is spectacular!

໑ Say It Somehow by frenchkiss / @lesbidirection (E, 129k, strangers to lovers, theatre au, actor louis, technician harry, musical references) i’m in love with this author’s writing. this fic felt like watching a show, it had everything and was very entertaining. the characters were so good to each other, but in a very human non-perfect way. and at the same time, the story explores what it’s like to work in theatre from someone with experience so if you like theatre AND you like love stories, you’ll love this one!

໑ The Full Carnival Experience by cherrylarry / @beelou (harry/luke hemmings, G, 2.4k, established relationship, carnival, fluff) this was so sweet and made me believe in the magic of carnivals again.

໑ The Gestalt of a Person by Stria (Asia117) / @nooradeservedbetter (zayn/niall, G, 2.5k, established relationship, character study, islam, homophobia) this was a beautiful story. i felt so much for Zayn, but i learned a lot through him.

໑ give me life, give me pain, give me myself again by thedeathchamber / @louehvolution (louis/joel miller, E, 2.9k, the last of us au, drama) Joel fans, you’ll love this. i don’t know much abt tlou but i felt like the vibes were amazing.

໑ the devil's backbone by edensrose / @holdingthornsandroses (louis/pedro pascal, M, 9.7k, enemies to friends to lovers, historical au (1925), violence) this was so good. this author is great with historical fics, and this was no exception! the story was so well detailed and it was written with great detail without overdoing it. there’s period typical violence and mentions of past relationships and abuse.

໑ 🔒 I Couldn't Write You Off If I Tried by @homosociallyyours (girl direction marcel/louis, M, 11.4k, strangers to lovers, accountant marcel, stripper louis, taxes) the only thing i can say for myself is that this is the first time i cry because of taxes. this was sweet, soft, and sexy.

໑ The Light Out In The Madness (Hold Tight) by @lalalaartje (niall/louis, E, 46.6k, roommates to lovers, uni au, fake pretend relationship, read tags) absolutely loved this story. i could experience the beginning of their friendship and how it kept growing and growing. the fic has so many iconic moments so make sure to check it out!

There’s energy drink in sticky puddles across the floor seeping into cracks. Cans strewn from the sliding doors and around into other aisles. The air smells too sweet and the tension is building to an uncomfortable level.

Louis prides himself on not backing down from uncomfortable situations normally, but this isn’t one of those times. He turns on his heels, cautious not to knock over anything a second time. One public embarrassment is enough for the day. He’s out the door in seconds, red faced with heat settling in his temples and cheeks.

“What just happened?” he huffs out.

This was a short and sweet story filled with new and evolving relationships, vivid and lush scenery, and a cute and classic storyline.  There are some super amusing moments that will make you chuckle!

“Nnrg,” Nick replies smoothly, failing to meet Louis’ hand with his own as he realizes just how garbled his smooth reply actually was. He overcorrects and vaguely slaps Louis’ hand before managing to wring it in his own, much to Louis’ apparent amusement.

Carefree. Confident. Over the top. Nick may be a bit of a disaster, but no one can deny the mood for Leo season suits him.

This is a delightful fic with plenty of banter and sex appeal, just right for readers in the mood for something flirty and fun.

Of Swords and Sage — etchasketchcity 

34.857 words / Harry x Liam

Liam knows that Harry, the innkeeper’s son, dislikes him. He won’t go so far as hate, since he doesn’t seem capable of anything stronger than stirring the soup cauldron or, more importantly, rolling a casket of mead into place behind the inn’s serving counter. Hate is definitely too strong a word. Annoyed, maybe. Disapproving, definitely.

But Liam doesn’t concern himself with the intractable approval of the innkeeper’s son. He’s here for a job, not to fraternize. In fact, if there’s one thing he’s learned from his travels since he’s picked up his bow and his sword, it’s that making friends with the locals only makes his job more complicated. And Liam has never liked complicated.

This fic does a really good job of immersing you in its fantasy world of witches and hunters and magic, dropping you right into a tale that’s, at times, both gruesome and haunting. But the underlying tension between the main characters and their shifting understanding of each other truly brings a light that shines in the darkness and ultimately leaves you wanting more.

All My Roads Lead to You by @dandelionfairies / dandelionfairies (41k, M, Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, drugs, drug runner/bartender Harry, cop Louis, 1990s Chicago, undercover cop Louis, secret relationship, secret identity, mentions of trafficking, this fic has a lot of darker themes and while the most Harry is involved in himself is the drug dealing, please note that it does have a lot of heavy themes and they throw you right into that from the beginning, i actually LOVED how they framed the fic and told the story, it made for an incredibly gripping hook at the beginning and I powered through this so fast to learn what happened lol)

heart meet break by @larrieblr / safetyfilm (1.4k, NR, Harry/Louis, Harry/OMC, post-breakup, but also kind of pre-slash, the breakup was with the OMC, friends to lovers, one shot, this fic is beautiful and powerful and a wonderful depiction of the feelings and hope wrapped in this moment, I loved it so much)

darling just dive right in by @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed / we_are_the_same (6k, T, Zayn/Louis, childhood friends, exes to lovers, angst, angst with a happy ending, arranged marriage, royalty, pining, reconciliation, this fic will HURT YOU in the best of ways, and then patch you right up again, I loved every moment, which was why I chose to read it for Mia's birthday episode of @podfic-pals hehe)

Ace of Spades by @allwaswell16 / allwaswell16 (78k, E, Harry/Louis, A/B/O dynamics, alpha Louis, omega Harry, historical romance style story, with PIRATES YAS, lol, captain Grimmy, I don't even know why I mention that because he's not a massive role in the fic but I adore him so lol, slow burn, kidnapping, escape... gone wrong lol, arranged marriage, adventure, prisoners, listen this fic is EVERYTHING, Anitra truly outdid herself here and I love this fic with my entire being)

Here You Come Again by @neondiamond / Neondiamond (22k, E, Harry/Louis, Country Fest fic, exes to lovers, slow burn, peach farm, American AU, pining, angst, fluff, all the best things obviously, for real though this fic just reads so perfectly smoothly, I loved watching these two figure their shit out even if they were a bit sloppy about it hahaha)

Mind of Stone by @daggerandrose / amomentoflove (42k, M, Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, Greek Mythology, Harry Gemma and Alex are descendents of Medusa, kinda, and there's demigods in this universe, and Louis isn't quite as susceptible to their magic as he should be, and there's just a LOT for them to all figure out, and it's FASCINATING, this fic wrapped me up in their world so completely, it was spellbinding, hehehe, for real though this fic was just so fully fleshed out and all of the characters were incredibly written, I could go on for hours)

Endgame by @brightgolden / brightgolden (39k, E, Harry/Louis, omega Harry fest fic, A/B/O dynamics, royalty, omega prince Harry, alpha courtesan Louis, Harry is concerned he's infertile basically, because after four years he hasn't conceived yet, and that's like his entire role, so if this is triggering at all for you please stay safe and don't read this fic, but if it isn't then holy shit stop what you're doing and read this, I read this fic when I was dealing with my husband having covid during what was already a super stressful time, and this fic pulled me through almost singlehandedly, I wish I was joking, It's so gooooooood)

I drown with every kiss, I’m not used to this by @theshotoftruth / just_a_blurryface (41k, M, Zayn/Liam, artist Zayn, chocolatier Liam, music teacher Niall, secret identities, slow burn, sexual tension, angst, fluff, this fic is SO FLUFFY but there's still such an undercurrent of potential pain waiting to hit you, so when it comes you like KNEW it would but also hoped it wouldn't haha, it's SO PAINFUL but so good, and the ending is technically open, but it doesn't really feel that way tbh, it feels so hopeful and like they'll defo make it work, but up to you to interpret really hehe)

Somethin' Old and Red by @absoloutenonsense / nonsensedarling (6k, NR, Harry/Louis, vampire Harry, blood donor Louis, Harry volunteers at the blood donation center so he can sneak blood pouches when he needs them, and his favorite is Louis for obvious reasons, but this fic omgosh it's just, a;sdgkhas;lfkdj, I'm fairly certain I screamed after reading it in the best way so defo recommend it for a bit of comedic gold in your life, and a good old fashioned gasp of surprise too haha)

In Four Colours by @ireallysawanangel / crimsontheory (59k, E, Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, chef Harry, restaurant owner Harry, silver fox Louis, older Larry, they're both in their 40s, vacation fic, divorced Harry, Harry's grown daughters and Liam conspire to force him on vacation to make him finally relax, and he meets Lottie and Louis, and omgosh this fic is just beyond perfect, the way it all develops and grows and feels so real, I adore this writer's fics always but this one was just magical)

Skate Into Your Heart by @wabadabadaba / wabadabadaba (2k, G, Harry/Louis, girl direction, skater Louis, punk Louis, wannabe skater Harry, Harry is kind of literally pushed into things to help her meet Louis, and it is SO cute, wingman Zayn, Niall and Liam kind of try too but in their own way lmao)

Souperhero by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry (4k, G, Harry/Louis, hero Harry, antihero Louis, enemies to lovers, basically kinda sorta?, except also not really, more like Louis is against everything Harry as a hero stands for, which makes more sense in the worldbuilding, this was basically emmu's excuse to be rose tyler and write an entire fic with pro-union themes, and i adore every moment of it lol)

The Warmth of Your Body by @zanniscaramouche / zanni_scaramouche (46k, M, Harry/Louis, A/B/O dynamics, pack fic, werewolves, full shifter werewolves, luna Harry, omega Harry, alpha Louis, loner alpha Louis, Louis is the only wolf left from his pack, and Harry's pack is under attack, Harry is also promised to the next in line leader of the pack Niall, so things are COMPLICATED to say the least, this fic is INCREDIBLE YOU GUYS, but also it is only part one, i... did not realize this when I started, and I was pulled in so completely, I read this so fast, and then had to yell at zanni because i had no idea it was just gonna stop, so like please read it, and then yell at her in excitement with me, so she keeps motivated to write the rest but also, please be prepared lol)

we're still the kings of the Friday nights by @so-why-let-your-voice-be-tamed / we_are_the_same (23k, T, Zayn/Louis, Zouis fest fic, friends to lovers, childhood friends, sexuality crisis, demisexual Louis, coming out, experimentation, cuddling, sharing a bed, kissing, angst, this is like, everything I could ever dream of in a zouis fic it is PERFECTION)

Nights by @nikogdafics / nikogda (800, G, Harry/Louis, wordplay fic, post-breakup, smoking, ruminations, okay listen this fic is just that perfect snippet of a moment in time, and the emotions that are being considered, the nostalgia of being in a place at a certain time that brings back all the memories, and that is one of kodi's BEST SKILLS WITH WRITING, this is just, it takes my breath away to read it, truly it does, i love love love this fic)

dream about a summer night by @onlythebravest / fearsparks (34k, T, Harry/Louis, A/B/O dynamics, alpha Louis, omega Harry, friends to lovers, sharing a tent, sharing a bed, cuddling, flirting, acting like they're already established but never really talking it out, kinda letting it float around them until they have to talk about it, SO FUCKING CUTE OMGOSH, camp counselors, there's just, this fic is so sweet and soft and lovely and it was the perfect escape while on vacation)

The Only Thing I'll Ever Do by @wabadabadaba / wabadabadaba (8k, T, Harry/Louis, girl Harry, boy Louis, high school fic, first kiss, flirting, Harry dreams that she's dating Louis, which puts Louis on her radar, and he's suddenly EVERYWHERE, and Niall is just confused as shit lmaooooo, this is seriously so sweet and cute and pure)

never beat much faster by temerity (forsanethaec) (23k, E, Niall/Louis, girl direction, summer fic, beach fic, but like made British lol, friends to lovers, flirting, that soft spot of just starting a relationship and figuring things out, it's such a lovely place to be, but also Louis is trying to come back from a bad breakup and is dealing with that, and just this fic is so so so cute, her family are lovely and Niall is just such a bright light, I loved the characters very much in this)

You Only Fall In Love Twice by @beanno28 / Beanno28 (58k, E, Zayn/Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, polyamory, established Zayn/Harry, famous Harry, FBI agent Zayn, meet cute, polyamory negotiations, exploration, secret relationship, traveling, there's just SO much in this fic, and it's such an incredible view of the beginnings of a polyamorous relationship, and the exploration of it and how it might work, and I loved the way it was handled from start to finish, the way you could literally see Louis figuring himself out and getting used to it all, and feeling RIGHT in it, it's beautiful and wonderful and I just loved these three so much)

Just Your Jinx by @larryatendoftheday / larryatendoftheday (10k, T, Harry/Louis, witch Harry, neighbors, accidental jinxing, Harry is trying so hard to be good, and he messed up because Louis was just too beautiful lmaoooo, understandable right?, and then Mitch kinda helps him to fix it, and just, there's so much fun in this, it's so funny and silly and I loved it, absolute perfection)

Louis works at The Blind Bat as a bartender during one of the busier times of the night. Typically, there’s one bartender on duty, his best mate Niall Horan, but Louis steps in to help with the demand. There’s always someone who needs a drink, a menu, or something to replenish their energy. He also has to look out of the humans who willingly allow vampires to feed on them. He’s quite protective of the regulars who come to get their kicks with a quick drink and a bite. A vampire’s bite, and the rush of endorphins that come with it, can be addicting. He should know.

“And with it, our mates,” Harry finishes, his voice cracking at the last word.

Harry’s waiting for the day when his owner will go too far and finally kill him. Death must be better than this cold hell he is in.

It won’t happen, though. He has a way of keeping Harry’s heart beating. So for now, all Harry can do is wait for death to come.

Dancing Barefoot by @quelsentiment / wordsnnotes (19k, T, Zayn/Louis/Liam, cliche fest fic, single parent Liam, single parent Louis, uncle Zayn, model Zayn, artist Zayn, footie coach Louis, firefighter Liam, meet cute, flirting, honestly the way they all dance around each other, and learn about each other, and figure out their dynamic and have it be kind of jokes, before they all slowly shift into the realization of it all, and the way the POV is split up, it's all so perfect, it's a soft and intimate and glorious dynamic, with teacher Gemma and all of their kids/niece in the background, it's just lovely)

Why Didn't We Make Out the Night We Met? by @berzerkshires / berzerkshires (52k, E, Harry/Louis, meet cute, famous/non-famous, long distance relationship, chat fic, most of it happens over the phone or by texts, sometimes by voicemails, pop star Harry, university sports fields caretaker Louis, American Louis, assumed pseudonym, lying about Harry's real identity, angst with a happy ending, covid, truly though the structure of this fic is so unique and the rhythm of it is so cool how it builds up because of it, and the repetition but slight changes of the title of the fic being used in every chat they have, is so brilliant and endearing and heartbreaking and lovely)

Old Photographs & Times I'll Remember by @jaerie / jaerie (54k, E, Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, time travel, historical fic (for the times in the past), Eroda, photographer Harry, closeted Harry, internalized homophobia, period typical homophobia, innkeeper Louis, Louis travels back through time to Harry through his photographs, this story is so deep and touching and lovely, and I think it might be my very favorite of all of Jenna's fics I've ever read, that's how much I loved it)

But If This Ends by @absoloutenonsense / nonsensedarling (107k, E, Harry/Louis, Big Bang fic, vampire Harry, secret vampire Harry, friends with benefits, kinda, more like casual hookups, but trying to make it more, anyway, soulmates, angst, angst with a happy ending, bartender Harry, writer Louis, pet names, role play, plot twist, blood, magic, science, this fic was filled with the most full characters and relationships, all the complexity between them and the way it all developed, there was so much detail and it was so gorgeous, the absolute perfection in the storytelling and the pacing and the reality of how everyone reacted to the various situations, it was just all so real and believable, and I cannot rave about this fic enough, I absolutely adored it)
