Y/n was stressed. She was stressed, and Jungwon was bored. Bored of watching his girlfriend stress over an exam he knew she was well capable of passing. Watching y/n sigh in frustration for the nth time that evening, the 17-year-old stood up and shut the book, an equally frustrated sound leaving his mouth. Y/n clearly wasn’t going anywhere with her studying; although Jungwon was sure she’d do just fine – months of regular study, exam practice and a secured place as top of the class was all the assurance he needed.

“Wonnie?” y/n asked, amused as Jungwon pulled her out of her seat and towards their coats. “I need to study right now; you know how much this exam means to me.”

“Of course, I know baby, but this is way too much!” Jungwon explained, reaching for y/n’s coat and continuing as he reached for his own shoes. “You’ll overexert yourself y/n-ah. Come on, have you had a single study break since I got here?”

“Yes…?” She hadn’t. Jungwon had been in her apartment for five hours, and the boba-eyed teen couldn’t count once where y/n had actually given herself a proper break from studying.

And Jungwon deadpanned. “Getting up to turn the ac on is not a break – and you can’t deny it – you need to take some actual time away from your notes. Now; follow me~”

Trusting Jungwon’s words as the couple walked through the evening’s streets, y/n couldn’t help but bite back giggles at her boyfriend’s determined face as they bought various snacks from the convenience store – and entire bag and a half’s worth - and made their way to the closest park. It was time for a makeshift evening picnic.

The breeze was cooling; a refreshing change from the stagnant air of her air-conditioned apartment.  Free from the thoughts of memorising dates and information for her upcoming exam, y/n could finally breathe. Looking over to Jungwon as she reached for another snack, her eyes met with Jungwon’s; an eye-smile that she could recognise even in the dark of Autumn.

“And what are you looking at cutie?” Jungwon teased, reaching forward and booping y/n’s nose. Scrunching her nose as she light-heartedly scoffed, y/n rolled her eyes, returning the gesture with a smile on her face.

“Human Boba. That’s what~” Laughing at the dusted pink coating Jungwon’s cheek at the impromptu compliment, returning her attention to the snack in hand. Wordlessly eating her snacks as she rested her head against his shoulder, y/n let her mind wander to the sound of Jungwon rambling on about whatever was on his mind. At the most comfortable she had been in weeks, y/n found herself dozing off on her boyfriend’s arm – until said boba-eyed teen turned his music on and pulled y/n onto her feet, an excitement gleaming in his eye (the gleam was in fact from the nearest streetlight, but don’t tell Jungwon). Confused but ultimately following along with whatever it was that Jungwon had planned, y/n found herself slow-dancing with Jungwon, his hands wrapped around her waist; a secure yet light grip that made her heart flutter.

Sunset had turned to dusk and soon nightfall as the two wrapped up their nightly excursion to the park, hand in hand as they walked back to y/n’s apartment. Her spirits returned, y/n removed Jungwon’s hand from her own, jogging on forward.

“Y/n? Wait up-!” Jogging forward to catch up with y/n, Jungwon snickered when she made a break for it, sprinting back home – Jungwon now hot on her trail. “You just wait till I catch you-!”

“You gotta catch me first!”
