I totally remember when everyone was still debating whether the bathroom scene will be present in future seasons after the sea whip plot when season 1 was released in 2021.. but now we got a Walmart version of it 🙃 No hate to Freddy and Amita.. what made me super duper extra mad was the pekka confrontation scene included the other crows. like only inej is supposed to be there you really think kaz would say SHIT about his brother in front of everyone????? he literally called jesper jordie in the books and refused to elaborate on it when jesper kept asking. and even inej doesn’t get the full story out of him.

YEAH LOL this season took some truly important scenes for Inej and Kaz and just. Wrote Jesper into her place instead. And also Nina. And Inej is now the one with the LEAST context for his trauma (except for Wylan, who still knows Nothing). This is not who Kaz is this is not what he would have done this is NOT HIM

The way I don’t even care abt getting kaz’s backstory anymore in this season and can’t be convinced to watch it bc the show already butchered literally everything else with his character. Speaking of I don’t think I’ve seen anyone even go into detail or talk abt it much which probably says a lot abt everything else the show is doing lol.

NJKnkjnkj you see, the writers just decided to tell us his entire backstory in shittily-placed flashback during the first half of the season, so waiting for his backstory isn't a thing. There is no buildup. No hints. You find out most of it in ep1. Remember how bad and scary it was in the books? Well here it is really lazily shot and cliched and just seems like not a big deal at all, which is probably why no one is mentioning it

Fallout TV show stuff, no real spoilers until under the cut.

Alright I think that irked me hardest was extremely front loaded and, going into episode 8 its grown on me a bit despite having elements that still kind of suck, yeah Fallout tv show is a solid like. 3 star experience.

They start doing slightly more novel ideas instead of lifting locations and plot beats directly from the games but it does overwhelmingly feel like Bethesda provided them with like. A list of "Things That Are [in] Fallout [as a brand franchise] [even if they're literally just Locations That Were In Fallout 3]" and they contractually had to hit literally every single one.

Brotherhood of Steel. Vault dweller protagonist. German Shepherd type dog. Referring to that dog as dogmeat. Bitter pre-war ghoul. Enclave. Town made of aircraft parts. Eccentric general store owner. Eccentric doctor. Eccentric radio host. Mr Handy. Cannibals. Vertibird. Bloody Mess. Radroach. Red Rocket. Super Duper Mart. Wasteland cult. The Fallout 2/3 vault dweller outfit. Assaultron. Reclaimation Day. Posed skeletons. [Urgh I guess the franchise has to canonically acknowledge fallout new vegas existed so...] cowboys. Courier. NCR. NCR rangers. Pre war computer chip mcguffin. Etc. Etc. Etc. Genuinely theres something several times a minute to a degree where its a great relief when they come up with Anything new to exist in the world.

Its frankly like they generated a word cloud from the wiki in a way that feels even beyond Star Wars "hey remember this??" tv show writing because it isn't remotely earned. These are things that are only 'iconic' on paper when you're trying to hit Name Recognition and Specific Preexisting Lore instead of Worldbuilding Themes.

Incidentally this is also the vibe of how Bethesda approached the franchise when adapting it from Black Isle's slightly goofy speculative society towns of hats sandbox (I don't buy into FO1/2 being cuttingly political or great satire, I like them but they're not that deep), and like, Bethesda is rife with it to the point of notoriety but its a bit of a trend with "franchise media" in general where its all rehash and little elaboration.

So far the only thing they've been at all coy about has been FEV which is Bethesda's fucking #1 fave thing for no reason so I suspect that's going to be a big gasp end of season twist for one if not several plot threads. Possibly to tease an entire Super Mutant Themed Sequel. Gr8.

Oh and, spoilers:

This is the second time of note that there's been a fan-beloved installment from a decade prior and they poochied it. Vvardenfell died on the way back to its home planet in Skyrim. NCR died on the way back to its home planet in this.

THAT feels like Bethesda being afraid to touch complex political implications and factions, and evolving worlds because they're too fiddly to satisfy everyone, sooo they just explode them off screen for wholly nostalgia based emotional impact and use the fact that they exploded as the central defining point for that group from then on.

Had a weird convo yesterday about meds with a friend and one of her friends. They were both adamant that psychiatric medication is like a training wheel while someone learns to deal with their mental health via therapy.

So I pointed out that like... no? No? A lot of people need to be on psych meds their whole lives, and that's okay. And my friend conceded that there MAY be OCCASIONALLY some times when someone shouldn't go off of meds. But her friend was adamant about that never being case.

So I mentioned that I will likely be on meds my whole life, because my brain is broken. And as soon as I said that her friend was like "NO. NO. NO. NO." While I was speaking.

And so I just let it drop, because I frankly didn't care enough about this convo to push it. I've met a few people who have that stance, who have depression or anxiety from life circumstances or trauma. They assume everyone is like them. People like me are the 1 in a billion unmentionables (which is odd, since the rate of schizophrenia is 1 in 300 people, and the rate of bipolar disorder is apparently 2.8/100, OCD is 2.3/100, and 4.2/100 have severe adhd. While I don't fit neatly into categories like that, it means about 8.43%* of the population has any of those. So it's not as if people like me are super rare.)

So I assumed that she wasn't super duper mentally ill.

And then a few minutes later she mentioned how she'll be going off an anti-psychotics soon??? So that was wild. Cause it's like. Shouldn't YOU understand why some people need to be medicated for life.

And then later my friend was like "well I hope you don't have to be on meds for your entire life"

And its like.. what? But it's fine. Like, rn it's expensive, bc I don't have insurance and one of my meds isn't covered by provincial health insurance, so yeah it'd be like to have that extra $150 per month, but like.. it's fine? I'll have to wear glasses my entire life. I'll be taking hormonal birth control to control my periods until I'm like 50. It's really not that big of a deal.

Idk it's weird bc people who don't know the intricacies of my mental health often insist I CAN survive off my meds. And it's like, sure, okay, with therapy and a good support system and maybe if my brain changed enough then I can survive.

But I shouldn't HAVE to survive dealing with having a psychiatric disability from extreme executive dysfunction, mood swings, delusional episodes, paranoia, ocd fixations, hallucinations, anxiety, and depression. Like, even though therapy can help me deal with living with it and mitigate things like ocd intrusive thoughts, and therapy before I was on meds helped a LOT with managing my moods, managing my mental health was still like being chained to a giant dog that eats cats and chases cars and barks at all hours of the day and shits everywhere but at least now knows "sit" and "come".

I'd rather thrive with meds, than merely be surviving off of them.

I realize he isn't the most popular of characters, but please hear me out, as I think that this would be an amazing couple. Shoji is intimidating on the outside but frankly a sweetheart within. I think maybe at first he was a bit intimidated by you but was drawn in by your resourcefulness and wit during a mission. You truly inspire him, especially if your quirk is unique/hard to control (which, with your description, I think is highly likely, you go!)

I absolutely think that you and Shoji would be friends first, he'd start by asking you questions regarding the mission, and soon just love your company altogether. I also don't think that his demeanor would be a problem and he really enjoys listening to what you truly have to say. One thing I think helped turn it from a friendship to a more romantic one would be his helping to ground you after a particularly tough day.

Shoji would protect you with his life, and honestly, he thinks you being shorter is cute, but he'd never mention it unless you asked as he's so scared of offending you. piggy back rides are an absolute yes if you'd like them! I recently came to terms with the fact that I am queer. I use that word because I haven't exactly figured out what label I fit into. All I know for sure is that I'm not straight. And I'm terrified. Being desi and queer doesn't even seem like something that's possible. I mean openly. I can't tell my family. I tried telling my friends but before I could actually get there it became pretty evident that they were uncomfortable with the topic altogether. I don't have anyone to confide in and even now as I'm writing to you anonymously I'm still terrified someone will somehow trace this back to me and I'll get in trouble. I feel suffocated and I feel terrified that I can never be myself because everyone will just hate me. Do you have any advice for me or any comforting words? And even if you don't I just really really needed to share my truth with someone and your blog seems like a very accepting space.

There's lots of noise and conversation on "coming out", but please know that it's in no way a mandatory thing. You don't need to reveal this side of yourself to anyone if you don't want to, until you are ready. Anyway in desi society, talking about one's sex life is taboo; so game the system back: your preferences are none of anyone's business. Your safety is paramount. Only come out if and when you feel utterly comfortable and safe with a person. My biggest advice for you would probably be that you should make sure that you are working towards being financially independent from your family. Even if they are unsupportive (or in worst case scenario, the situation becomes unsafe) you should have the freedom to leave and make your own way in the world. Emotional freedom is more tricky, and that will take more time and effort, but that's for a professional therapist to guide you with.

I am sorry that your friends seemed unsupportive and uncomfortable with the topic. It's saddening and frankly, absurd; because you're still the very same person, you just learnt something new about yourself. Discovering new sides to yourself is all a vital part of growing up, and your friends should embrace this part of you just like they do any other growth you go through! It's possible that perhaps some of them are actually supportive but reluctant to speak in a larger group setting? So maybe you could try talking to those who you think might be open to the idea on a one-on-one basis. If someone is openly queerphobic though, it's time to reconsider your friendship with them. You don't need that kind of energy in your life. Either way, you don't need anyone's approval or permission on this matter any more than you do on your favourite colour or taste in music. And sometimes, you grow out of your friend circles. This doesn't mean you/they did anything wrong; it's just a relationship that has run its course and isn't adding value to your life anymore. You can still have goodwill for them as you part, but you deserve friends who accept and embrace this part of you. So be open to expanding your circle and making new friends!!!!

And oh, please remember to love and accept yourself! As I always say, the longest relationship you will have in your life is with YOURSELF, and you need to make sure that is a happy one. Read more on the subject(s), educate yourself, and surround yourself with media that shows you the joyful side of being queer, rather than just the challenges. You know when it comes to Yanderes I'm pretty lenient. But. As lenient as i am.. There's this one thing. The only thing that I'm absolutely terrified of is the thing we call pregnancy. Absolutely terrifies me. A-and much to my dismay, i can tell that most of genshin men (hell all of them) probably have a raging breeding kink and i certainly can't stop that😔🥲

So! If you don't mind answering, how do you think genshin men will react to a darling who has massive Tokophobia, which is, indeed a fear of pregnancy and childbirth? Like, full-on breakdowns about it and probably even slewer-side attempts, so it's not easy to ignore at all

Ahhh yes same honestly, the thought of it irl freaks me out so much I hope I never get pregnant 😓😓 Also, !REMINDER! to all that when it comes to fears, insecurities and stuff like that, I write it being handled very poorly on their part, often manipulative and controlling or making the problem worse, rather than actual good comfort, due to the nature of my writing. I'm just always cautious in case to make sure people know that before reading especially newer followers who might not know. If someone wants like true fluff comfort, this is probably not the place to go 😅 Our boys are toxic and awful <3

Pretty much all of these have themes of forced impreg/pregnancy, toxicity, guilting/shaming etc so it's below a cut. Also some graphic/crude descriptions of things being joked about that may be bothersome depending on severity of your sensitivity.

There are some that handle it well, namely Venti. Venti would be so sweet about it, he's very non opinionated on the matter so he'll just kinda go with what you want. He doesn't need anything but you, so he's perfectly happy as it is and would never verbally try to pressure you into it.

The only issue, you see, is that your insides feel amazing and it's like, super duper hard to pull out or wear protection of any kind. And while he tries to, sometimes he just... forgets. He can't really afford meds of any kind, so... it may turn out to be an issue nonetheless. In which case he really does try to be comforting, and thankfully he's rather good with words... but really, he tries to be distracting. You can't be worried if you're not thinking about it! So basically he puts a ton of effort into taking your mind off the matter entirely, making you think about anything else, which is more of less trying to be avoidant, which he can only manage for so long. He's bad at managing panic attacks, because it just makes him start to panic, too, but he really does try.

Kaeya is fine with it, namely because he has a lot of... negative thoughts regarding the idea himself. Sure, having a kid wouldn't be bad per se, but the thought of you putting so much time and energy and affection into something that isn't him, right in front of him, starts to get under his skin. He's one of the most likely of our boys to actually kinda avoid it entirely... not in a way that would force him to give up pleasure or anything, no, it would have to be hormonal medication for you to take or something like that. He takes good care of you, so it's only fair!

However, should you get pregnant anyway, he's not the best at comforting you about it, namely because he's actually panicking a bit too, and frankly, he knows full well there is no way to comfort you that wouldn't be a blatant lie because, to be honest, he has no idea what to do. He can't get anyone to help, he doesn't trust someone to help him and not go to authorities about the situation. It's not like he can just so would you by chance know how to assist birth haha to a coworker at random, either. Expect a lot of nervousness on his part, which will inevitably make it a lot worse for you by extension. ...Nervousness about how this will affect him and how he'll lose a lot of your attention, of course.

He pretends to be fully confident to dismiss your worries, though, in an effort to try and seem put-together in hopes it'll make you less worried. Nah, it's not a big deal, really! You can't help but notice he seems to move around a lot and avoid eye contact whenever it comes up.

Kazuha... is somewhere in the middle. He's so sweet! He's comforting and reassuring and calm. He understands. Everyone is afraid of something! He goes on with the comfort for a while actually, telling you he totally gets it and he will always support you, it's not your fault, he understands why you'd be afraid.

...It's not until several minutes in you realize, of all the comforting words, he hasn't outright said he's okay with you not having kids, though. Just that he loves you, supports you, will always be there to help you get through it.

So after a minute you finally gather some courage and outright ask so it's okay if we don't right? And then you see his eyes widen, his soft smile falls. Oh... you mean you... don't want to? He thought you were just saying you were scared, which was hard to deal with considering obviously you want him to put a baby in you. After all, that's the natural way love works, so if you didn't want his babies, you must not love him... but you do love him, right? He asks you with a grip on your shoulders so firm and eyes so unblinkingly wide and empty you know far better than to say no. Okay, so if you love him, it shouldn't be an issue right? Because if you love him, you want to. He can't comprehend how you wouldn't. He would push through any fear for your sake... of course, he trusts you would do the same for him... the thought that you might not want them, and thereby don't love him, does linger in the back of his mind and bother him for a while, but he tells himself that's just more of a reason to get you knocked up sooner. That way you'll realize how much you want it, and then he can help you get over this fear of yours.

Xingqiu is also pretty in the middle, but pretty annoying about it because he has read exactly one (1) book on pregnancy and believes he is the Expert™ and knows more than you. On the bright (?) side, you will actually be in top-tier care because his family will just hire people who know what they're doing, including a therapist that is supposed to "help you get over it" because they genuinely believe in the "if you have a phobia just try not being scared :)" mentality.

In the end though you're not getting out of it. Need for heirs and all that, it's like, literally your responsibility. He's also extremely infuriating because he too has the mindset that ah, you'll get over it. Just you wait and see, a few months from now and you'll totally be over this silly little fear of yours and be super happy and excited about it! Until then, he can reassure you it'll be okay.

Diluc and Albedo dig themselves deeper and deeper into a hole with their words.

Diluc understands what you're experiencing a lot better, he gets the concept of a phobia unlike some others, but he's still awful at comforting. He's too practical and thinks he's helping when he's just making it worse, will say things like "well my mom said it wasn't that bad, she only had (insert the worst experience you've heard of in your entire life) so you'll be fine too", and when that only backfires into making you cry and panic (must be those pregnancy hormones?), he has to find one of the maids who has had kids and try to get them to reassure you. At least talking to them helps a little bit.

However, it gets worse as time goes on because unfortunately, what makes him especially awful for this situation is that he gets paranoid and panicked, which in turn certainly does not help you. He starts mumbling about how maybe he should call a doctor, he senses something's not right or something is abnormal, and that just makes you panic so much worse. And then he starts talking in what-ifs and that just sends your mental state into a downward spiral. Ugh.

Albedo has the same problem, but it sounds even worse with the way he talks about it. "Well statistically, the number of people who sustain injury during childbirth is only--" and then flinch at your interrupting reaction because he genuinely thought saying that would bring you some comfort. Okay. It's certainly not his field of expertise, but he has an anatomy book shoved away somewhere that he had for the purpose of chemical makeup of various parts of the body, but it has a section on pregnancy. See, here's the diagram showing you how--

Okay, so that... made it worse. You're panicking and breathing so fast, that can't be good. He knows he's not the best with words, but he wasn't expecting you to react that badly. Well, no worries. He's actually alright with it... sort of. In theory. He can just... make a kid on his own with your DNA. All organic and gestation-free. Like a plant.

The "in theory" part, however, similar to Venti, comes from the fact that while he can accept not impregnating you as a concept, in practice... well, no way is he going to put you on anything hormonal. Tons of negative side effects, you know (such as a decrease in sex drive, for one!). And pulling out is just... I mean, consider it logically, how would you like to have the best part of orgasm taken away from you? That's right, of course not. And condoms are awful, you literally can barely feel anything. No he's not exaggerating. Here, put this glove on, notice how you can only vaguely feel anything? See, that's what it's like. And cycle tracking... that would have to mean going some days without sex, and it is factual that he needs you as a means of stress reduction, you make him more productive, and you wouldn't want him to fail at his job right? So yes, he nods his head when you mention the fear, it's fine if you want to not get pregnant... he just will take absolutely no measures to prevent it from happening. But no worries. If you're panicked once again when you find out, he can always break out the diagrams again, maybe it will help this time...

Then we have the worst. Razor, Xiao, and Gorou. For Razor, it's a complete lack of understanding the very concept of a phobia and horrible communicative skills, for Gorou, it's the freakish pregnancy itself, and for Xiao, it's both of those things.

First of all, you will get pregnant. It is only a matter of time. There is no avoiding it. They all have strong breeding instincts and can't be bothered to use any form of protection -- why would you ever pull out when it feels so good? What kind of torture is that? And those things you tried to get him to wrap around his dick feel awful, no thank you. And as for Gorou, well, it's not a choice, he literally can't pull out when he's knotted deep inside you, and condoms don't fit around said knot. Besides, it doesn't matter, they reason, they all try to tell themselves that although you're like this now, once you're bred and knocked up you won't be so panicked.

...Okay, so maybe you are still panicked. Well, that's... not good. Xiao and Razor are basically in the same camp where they genuinely do care and don't want you to be afraid, but also think a simple "it will be okay. You'll be fine" should be enough to eliminate said fear entirely, and will be confused why you're apparently still upset. He just told you it's fine?? Do you need to be told a second time? A third time? Why is it not working... what is it that you do not understand...

But what makes them really bad is that they choose the absolute worst ways to "help". You finally convince Xiao to allow a medical doctor to have a look at you because you're getting sick with paranoia over your health... but it backfires when the doctor tells you he's fairly certain there's more than one, more than two even, causing you to panic and say something about how you're going to have tons of babies... but Xiao decides to reassure you that there is no worries. Tons? It's only like five or six. Not tons of them. The only downsides are the massive amounts of adeptal energy that will probably make you super sick, but he will be there for you and you two can what's with that look on your face why are you crying--

Likewise, Razor decides the best way to help you deal with this fear is by example to show you that it's not bad at all. Thankfully, one of the wolves is pregnant too, so when she gives birth you can come watch. You shake your head and dig your heels into the ground, but since he knows it'll be helpful, it's okay to pick you up and carry you by force, it's for your own good! You'll watch at a short distance, of course, but still close enough so you can see everything in great detail. See, it's not that bad! Look at how happy she is! After a little while he realizes you haven't said much ever since the first one came out, looks over and sees your eyes are closed and you're all slumped over, so he gives you a shake... huh, must have gone to sleep...? Well, that must mean you feel better about it now.

Gorou is on another level in terms of how much he wants it to begin with. Please. Please let him knock you up. Please he promises it'll be fine and there's nothing to worry about and you can carry four puppies just fine and okay maybe he shouldn't have added that part, anyway, please just--

He will literally hump you and whine and whimper about it, if he gets desperate enough. He's far more understanding and considerate of your feelings than the other two, but that makes it honestly a bit worse for him because he wants so badly for you to be happy and love him -- but you just don't understand. You can't understand how bad his need is. He wants nothing more in the world. Maybe, just maybe, he thinks, if he can just... get you into that state... you'll stop being so afraid, maybe?

He's also so apologetic about it the whole time, too. He knows that once he shoves the knot inside you it's more or less a done deal and irreversible, so he keeps mumbling apologies while he ruts into you, thinking that will make up for it. He hates to do something that will make you afraid, but can you really blame him...?

Oh my god I saw that post on my dash a few days ago and it took EVERYTHING IN ME TO NOT ENGAGE. But first of fucking all, Elia Martell obviously wouldn’t have had a choice and quite frankly yes she was privileged but she sure as shit didn’t DECIDE to become the broodmare and hostage of some asshole who thinks he’s Jesus and his deranged, homicidal father. She didn’t ask to have back to back babies with some self-obsessed fuckboy and I KNOW she had more self control than I do when she didn’t straight slit that man’s throat when she nearly died giving birth to Aegon and the first thing out of his raggedy trifling ass mouth was “I need one more because the voices in my fucking head said so”. 

Secondly, what jumped out to me in that and in so many of these weird Rhaegar stan arguments was the idea that OH WELL RHAEGAR WAS ONLY 23 AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR 15 YEAR OLDS TO BE MARRIED AND FUCKING 23 YEAR OLDS THEN. Kay. Point one, if we were to agree to the idea that it was normal for 23 year old men to fuck 15 year old children in this world (which it fuckin ain’t), this world isn’t real, and this world is created for people in the REAL WORLD to read. People in the real world all know and understand that a 23 year old man fucking a 15 year old child is not okay, and if we have basic reading comprehension then we do not need George RR Martin to explain to us why 23 year old men should not be abducting children, taking them across the country, and having sex with and impregnating them. 

Point two, IT ISN’T NORMAL IN THE WORLD OF WESTEROS THOUGH. Know how I know that? Because if it were perfectly acceptable for Lyanna to be married at 15, then WHY. WASN’T. SHE. ALREADY. MARRIED. She was engaged already, so why the hell wouldn’t she have been married if 15 is a normal age to be married? Or hell, why wouldn’t Cat and Brandon have been married for years already? Why weren’t Lysa or Cersei already married at their ages? Moreover, why is it that when we see unusually young girls being married in the series, it is ALWAYS portrayed as weird circumstances? Why does something happen in the narrative to explain why marrying someone that young is inappropriate? I mean Sansa, Jeyne Westerling, Aemma Arryn, it’s EXTREMELY rare to see younger teenage girls get married that young in ASOIAF unless there is some serious extenuating circumstance and/or some narrative punishment for the young marriage, and that is despite the fact that many betrothals are arranged when women in Westeros are still young children.

And frankly, can we let this narrative that Lyanna left because she was in love with Rhaegar fucking die please. Yeah, the show did it that way, but the show made Lyanna very obviously older and the show was weak as fuck when it comes to tackling the more problematic and icky aspects of ASOIAF. Now, I’m not denying the possibility that MAYBE Lyanna was in love with Rhaegar, HOWEVER, literally one of the only things GRRM has told us about Lyanna is that SHE HATES CHEATERS. Her main reason for not wanting to be with Robert Baratheon is because he’s a philanderer. So the fucking notion that she took off with Rhaegar because she was just super duper in love with him is... a fucking bizarre ass assumption to make. Even if she did have a crush on him, and it would have been a crush because THAT IS WHAT 15 YEAR OLD CHILDREN HAVE, that wouldn’t make it okay. But the assumption that Lyanna was into him when he was doing the one thing George went out of his way to tell us that she didn’t like in a relationship is more than a little dubious. AKA Rhaegar is a trash man and we should throw him in a trash can.

Us Vs Them: What that means for Sakuya

Hey, here’s that other post I was talking about, featuring more of my ramblings strung together from bits of discord chats and half formed thoughts. It goes… Pretty off the rails at one point. I’m sorry about that!

To start with, thanks to chapter 104 confirming something for me, I had a bit of a breakthrough. Under the read more, because I can’t shut up <3

Misono... Isn't just a narrative foil to Sakuya.

The Aliceins are meant to mirror Team M entirely, and the same sort of mindset can be found in both groups

For Misono and Sakuya both, breaking away is integral to stopping the cycle of pain and revenge both groups have found themselves caught up in. And for this reason, I think that an eventual team up between the two is inevitable. (final showdown trio, sakumahimiso, lET'S GO)

Mahiru, Misono, and Sakuya are all assigned secondary colors as their major color motif. Orange, purple, and green.

--To go back to what I’d like to see moving forward for a minute, this time for Sakuya, I’d absolutely love for Lily to, like, actually Talk with Sakuya for five minutes and get smacked in the face with the reality that he is super duper traumatized and desperately in need of a loving, supportive home full of people who actually understand how to address his issues. Because Tsubaki loves his subclass... But he doesn't know how to help them, which is why I sometimes refer to his group as a halfway home.

Basically Lily goes yoink! and Sakuya's just ????? Did I just get adopted?

See also: very stupid and farfetched desire for Mikuni to subconsciously treat him somewhat similarly to how he treats Misono, because he sees some of his little brother in him

Another thing is for Lily to help him deal with his, frankly, as much as I love sakumahi, unhealthy level of attachment to Mahiru. And sometimes I like to play with that. Most of the time, in fact, cuz I thrive on that fucked up shit. But in the context of canon, what I want for Sakuya is to be able to have healthy, normal relationships with people, and with Mahiru as well. He's practically addicted to the way Mahiru makes him feel, and that's... not good.

… I think Lily would pity him. He recognizes Sakuya latching on to the first person that made him feel like life was worth living, but he knows that he needs to learn to let go... Or else he'll end up with nothing.

And do I want Mahiru to get really fucking angry about Tsubaki airing his best friend's trauma to him without his permission and slug him in his stupid pretty face? Yes. Yes I do.

As far as that goes, though, I kind of want to interpret that as Tsubaki being somewhat self aware that he is not equipped to handle Sakuya's trauma, and asking Mahiru without actually saying that's what he's doing to try and help Sakuya because he would have seen how much brighter and happier this one little slice of normalcy made his grumpiest and most rebellious subclass. But Tsubaki is also, like, hella fucked up, so he flubbed it bad lmao

--Could also just be early story pitfalls of Strike trying to follow a very shounen, formulaic way of divulging a character's backstory to the reader via trauma dumping and then later realizing "wait this is stupid, I need to be better about this"

Because after Lust Arc, unless Mahiru is involved in the resolution, he never learns about the other character's traumas. He doesn't know about Ophelia. He doesn't know about Shamrock and Shuuhei's history. He doesn't know about the Chuuni Trio's friendship as kids, and how all that evolved. He does know about Kuro. He does know about Tsurugi. He actually... Doesn't know about the full depth of Touma's pain. Touma only shared that with him out of spite. But he knows the most important parts, and is able to put together everything else on his own.

Speaking of trauma dumping, I would really love to see those two instances of it, of Tsubaki divulging Sakuya’s past without his consent, and then later Mikado doing the same damn thing to Misono (hey look, more character parallels!) to come back to bite Mahi, no pun intended. Like the stress of it all, and the weight he's carrying, the knowing that he has been given access to things that aren't his right to have, especially after he went out of his way to be conscientious of Kuro's needs by asking to be let in, rather than brute forcing it the way Inner Sloth wanted. Mahiru is such a gentle person, and he'd hate that he has, whether by his own will or not, trampled on the privacy of people he loves.

Because regardless of the kind of love someone might personally think he feels for them, he does love both Sakuya and Misono. Loves them dearly. 

And maybe that's why Misono warmed to him so quickly, alongside Lily. That faint sense of acceptance, of caring, of a heart too big for his chest.

The world has fangs, but Mahiru is willing to bleed.

MATTER OF THE DAY

Thanks to everyone that's shared your thoughts on this matter with me and thanks to that person that brought this matter to my attention.

I haven't looked into it and I don't know how severe this issue is.

I think people have the right to believe in anything they want to believe in. Personally, I don't think Santa is real but clearly others do, doesn't mean I'm sane or that they are crazy.

I don't think discussions of this nature should be about who is right or who is wrong. Everyone's opinion is valid and holds true to their own delusions. Lol.

Frankly, I prefer this kind of ship wars to the slurs and abuses and they are distributing hard core porn now?? What is going on! Chileee.

I have never believed JK and Tae to be anything more than friends. At one point, I wondered if they were even friends at all lol but since they admitted to having had a falling out themselves at one point the topic is now moot.

Tae and JK have- had- have a really special bond. To me anyways. I always saw them as the evil power twins of BTS due their ability to come together to wreck havoc especially on Bang PD's scripts. Lol. I think I have mentioned this a few times now.

I smiled to myself when I heard them call themselves partners in crime. The bond is there no two ways about it- you either appreciate it for what it is or you don't. personally I love their bond. Can't stand their shippers but I love their bond. They keep the drama going for me- love it. Lol

The question has always been whether their bond is as profound as their shippers make it seem. I argue it's not and I will always argue it is not. Lol

I think it's only fair that they also question whether Jikook's bond is as profound as we make it sound. I really can't be mad at that. All is fair in love and war- at the very least we can agree to disagree.

I mean even Jikookers themselves question the extent of JK and JM's bond. Some think they are just very special friends and nothing more. I think I talked about this in my is Jikook real post when I mentioned labels and the degree of love between JK and JM?

We know JK and JM have a unique bond. The question then is how far does that bond go. Is it just platonic, romantic or something in between?

This is the question I was aiming to answer with my is Jikook real post. My objective was to try and dismantle all the nuances that keep us from seeing the 'truth' about Jikook- that they are real. At least the way I see them.

I talked about unrealistic expectations we have of Jikook, false conditionings that often leads us to see Jikook as something more than they are- the amplified Jikook. We get used to highlight reels of Jikook's interactions in edits such that we feel there is something wrong with them when we see them in real time.

I mentioned that Jimin's nurturing nature often also estops people from reading more into his relationship with JK. He is nurturing of everyone, JK ain't special- they argue, just as this person is doing.

I talked about Jimin's Idol persona, the facade of the boy in love with JK- Jimin's role within BTS since debut and how that can equally blind us into thinking Jikook is something more or less than they really are. I have a post dedicated to this topic sitting in my drafts so I will not go into the details of it here. Please look forward to that.

But this person's post touches on another aspect of Jimin's personality that I feel is one of the things that often keeps us from seeing his relationship with JK for what it really is- his inclination for professionalism.

I keep saying this, several times now, that Jimin's Idol persona to me seems well developed, elaborate and very elusive.

I have mentioned a few times how I think during Jikook break ups that they keep it civil and professional for the sake of the team and that you might not even notice the difference especially if you place high value on their skinship.

The skinship would be there, the cordiality and civility would equally be there- except for moments when they are fighting, that gets bloody. Lol. They are best friends at the very least. It is why it's important to reevaluate the metrics we use to determine whether or not they are a couple.

I wish I could dialogue with this person to understand her assessment of Jikook and what she is using to determine whether or not Jikook are a couple and what makes her think Tae and JK are. Know what I mean?

What makes her think Jikook were a couple before 2017? What makes y'all think Jikook are a couple at all? I would like to hear from y'all- but come at me with the skinship bit and I'll block you deadass. Lol

So on this person's post, I think I agree with her assessment of JM's persona but I don't agree with the Jikook have been broken up since 2017. And I think I understand where this is coming from... I think some of us do. Yes they had a few fights that year especially leading up to Jimin's birthday- August was it? but we all know JK more than made up for it with the damn GCFs. Lol. kindly visit the timeline, peruse as many content as you can and form your own opinion on it. This is just mine.

Are Jikook Jikooking all the time? Absolutely not. They are human too. They fight, they make up, they break up they get back together, they have introverted, extroverted moments, they go up, they go down- have bad hair days, it's all part of their dynamics I'm afraid. From my point of view of course.

I feel some people notice these things too and when they sense Jikook aren't in a good place they bow out and Jump ship- I don't blame them. They are shippers not supporters. What Jikook need are supporters not shippers- or maybe both, do you.

Could this person be one such people? DNF shippers? Given up on Jikook before the end of their story? I don't know. May be.

Jikook is not a fantasy that you ship. It's a relationship that you support. You can't escape into them. They are an ongoing love story- chapters close, chapters open, you just have to ride it out till the very end.

I think the challenge of their post for me is whether or not Jikook is a performance. Her post leans into the whole Jikook is fanservice bull especially in light of the recent photoshoot video which some are using as evidence Jikook don't 'click' when the cameras are off- the lies they tell on Beyonce's internet!

I think I have speculated on this and shared my thoughts on this whole Jikook is fanservice bit. I will delve deeper into it in my next post on Jimin's idol persona but as I've already said, Jikook is fanservice is equally a misnomer.

Yes Jikook does fanservice sometimes, but they are not fanservice. Fanservice is the cover for their relationship. It's their glass ceiling- nothing to see here folks just two snakes under glass. Keep it pushing. (Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Lol)

But you do raise a valid question, what is Jikook like when the cameras are not filming?

Is the mood of Jikook in that footage the general mood of Jikook behind cameras as Tuktukkers are claiming? They barely interact, JM doesn't pay much attention to Kook, yadda yadda yadda?

And the part that gives me a complex, that JK only interacts with JM when they are the center of attention. Huh???????????

Yes JK is an introvert, Jimin is an extrovert, JM doesn't live for JK, all that is true and some Jikookers have said that too- so when you ask, if this is who they are when the cameras are off does that mean what they do when the cameras turn on is fanservice-

I see it as tension. Not a very serious one though. So we'd have to agree to disagree on that one.

But the part I can argue, the part I agree with is Jikook aren't hyper super duper lovey dovey on each other all the time. They aren't cuddly all the time. They have their moments of quiet- Jimin seems like the more affectionate kind who'd rub all over JK in the comfort of their homes but still...

If you ask me though, I think Jikook are tamer on cameras than they are behind scenes. I always talk about the fear and panic in the members' eyes when they see Jikook gravitating towards each other- it's probably because they know the extent of Jikook's shenanigans. They know how worse it can be because they've seen it all.

And when JK panics sometimes when JM gets closer too you just know dude is scared perhaps because of his Mochi chick's devil may care shamelessly in love policies- Jimin wild. Bless him.

I did say also that Memories 2019 is equally eye opening. These were censored bits. BigHit was holding all of that and giving us crumbs- stingy mfs. Bless.

All that said, again I don't think Jikook are hyper lovey on eachother behind the scenes. Another part I diverge from that view is that this is not exactly off camera. It was just behind the scenes of a photoshoot. Something we've seen a countless times.

This is not BTS's first ever behind scenes photoshoot. It's just a different angle that's all.

They were working. They were at work. This wasn't an alone private space for them so they can't base on this to say Jikook don't interact when the cameras are off.

The cameras were rolling. We saw them interact, JM was interacting with everyone the way he always does on camera all the time except he wasn't interacting with JK the way he does all the time, grainy footage or not- I mean let's call a spade a spade and not a big fat spoon. Lol

As to why he was doing that- let's just say there are many schools of thoughts.

My thought as I've said is JM was freezing JK out. I think with anyone that's recognized and is familiar with Jikook fights, that mood is all too familiar as I mentioned earlier.

If JM was being courteous and not mad at his man then he would have kept it 'professional' and done the 'fanservice' bit with Jk as per usual just as this person is saying since the cameras were still rolling.

Jikook is not fanservice. They are real.

I have refrained from providing a detailed analysis of that '5 minutes' footage for reasons I will explain later when I do share my thoughts on that footage- eventually. Some day.

But my hypothesis remains the same that I think Jikook were fighting or had a minor issue. As to why they were fighting, chileee I don't know. The confirmation bias in me feel it had something to do with JM's birthday but honestly it could have been over anything at all- dumplings, microphones- we all saw that slap on stage, a certain Iphone notification perhaps, did JinMin make a secret VLive without Kook again? Lol

There are plethora of reasons, I can only speculate on a few. And I think we've all seen Jimin when he is not 'Jimining' with the others, JK included. Take his mood with Tae at GDA for example- since this is not a VMin post I won't go into it.

But it seems they squashed whatever beef they were having on stage when JM extended his hands to Tae and they shaked it out.

We've seen him and Suga bicker too- which again, I am not gonna to get into out of respect for their shippers but I can point you to the On comeback VLive early this year when Suga touched JM and JM mouthed Hajima to him- which I think had something to do with what was going on with him and JK at the time but that is besides the point. I contrast his 'fights' with Suga and V to show you the difference between Jimin being professional and courteous and Jimin being rah rah. He was sat next to suga, talking and laughing with him but snapped the moment Suga held his back.

He did the same in the Dynamite MV Vlive, smiling and laughing with Suga but the moment JK teased him with the Yoonmin comment his countenance fell.

Jimin is not that good of an actor if you ask me. I have said he is very Kumbaya in nature, often makes compromises for the sake of the team but that don't mean he is a pushover or one to trifle with- he scares me when he is mad. Lmho.

The scene in that footage didn't look to me as that he was being nice and courteous to JK- is that y'all's definition of professional courtesy? Damn.

If they were having a lover's squabble then the 'icy' mood of Jikook we saw in that footage is not the general mood of Jikook when the camera's are turned off.

I have to state again that I don't know much of what goes on behind the cameras and most of the things we see sometimes are equally missing context.

That been said we have seen enough of Jikook 'behind cameras' and they are more intimate than we can imagine. A certain cozy selfie at the back of an abandoned truck comes to mind. Whatever they were doing at the back of the track wasn't intended for the cameras judging from JK's reaction.

We've had glimpses of Jikook when they are not the center of attention enough to have a fair idea of what they are when cameras are off and I don't think it is that mood we saw in that footage.

We saw them at Jingle ball bell, towards the end of 2019. We saw them in their own space doing what they do best- making us feel single as fuck. Bless them.

We've seen them at awards, we've seen JK eating Jimin's ear nom nom to calm him down- like I would have just bought him icecream to calm down his nerves or rubbed his back but whatever JK. He is your man; you know him best. Good for him. Good for both of you. Now come back and feed us.

I don't mind their shippers calling them whatever, but my eyes twitch when people who claim they support Jikook act wishy washy with Jikook. Lol. Any of the positive reinforcement, stuck to her guns and her philosophy as you should expect her too. Her brainwashed town was to her perfect because it kept her safe from the initial event and possibly more of them, that sent her into her own depression, and even states in the opener that if she could cast the spell to remove marks without hers she'd have done it. She didn't keep them from leaving, she kept them from undermining her safety net. And Twilight barely learned a thing from her mistakes, instead being given a means to circumvent them.

Starlight has lost decades pf her life's work, and time in general, and is actually being held under parole by Twilight, since, well, to put it simply? The Alicorns can't plan for anything. Celestia and Luna risk the entire world on a whim and poorly thought out tactics, Cadence and Shining armor are a plot contrivance turned into a character, and Twilight can't prepare or react as a ruler should to anything without going straight to 11

Anyone that should preach the supposed aspects they represent should be held to the same standards they demand any others to, so if Starlights so horrible, whys the excuse of feeling bad and saying sorry good enough for the mane six? How is it not hypocritical to allow them to hide behind a title, personal relations to a ruler and past deeds like cowards? But then call someone who much like Discord, is being groomed as an asset since Equestria can't handle it's own problems, all that you have?
