Dream SMP Pokémon AU

After taking my second Corona Vaccine shot I got sick and had to stay home from school, so I spent the whole day watching Pokémon Journeys which got me in the pokemood

So of course I started to create the Pokémon teams for the DSMP members, because this is my life I guess.

Also I know most people in the Pokémon world only have like one or two Pokémon, but I thought it’d be more fun to give them all a full team of six. Also, I won’t include all of the Dream SMP members, only those I actually know some shit about.

They’re all grouped into the people they travel with, because the idea of them all traveling alone makes me sad.

But anyways, let’s get on with it.

Tommy Innit, Pokémon trainer, Rival of Jack Manifold - Camerupt, Scorbunny, Galvantula, Shiny Galarian Linoone, Exploud, Snom

Tommy is the son of the gym leader of Hardcore City, and aims to become the champion of the DSMP region. He started out with a Numel as his partner, which he still uses as his ace. He’s quite the reckless trainer that has a habit of forgetting type matchups, which leads to some interesting battles.

Tubbo Schlatt Underscore, Pokémon breeder in training - Beedrill, Mareep, Alolan Vulpix, Ribombee, Xatu, Grookey

Tubbo is the son of a Business man from L’Manburg City and the nephew of a Mareep and Wooloo breeder. When he turned ten he received his Mareep from his aunt as his first Pokémon, and though they had some issues getting along at first, the two eventually bonded. Tubbo’s ace is his Beedrill, the first Pokémon he ever caught, and even though he’s not someone who usually battles his Pokémon are surprisingly strong. He aims to become a Pokémon breeder like his aunt, though he wishes to breed Bugs instead of sheep.

Ranboo Beloved, Pokémon Performer, Rival of Niki Nihachu and Eret King - Male Meowstic, Girafarig, Zorua, Buneary, Axew, Umbreon

Ranboo is an orphan from Ender City, who set out on a journey mostly to find his purpose in life together with his partner Espurr. He met Tommy and Tubbo in Cube City, where Tubbo quickly got attached to the guy which meant he was forced along on their journey. Ranboo found his purpose after watching a friend of Tubbo’s aunt, Niki, during a Pokémon Showcase and he fell in love with it. Despite it, he’s still quite shy and wears a mask and sun glasses when he performs to hide his face and identity.

Purpled Bedwars, Pokémon trainer, rival of Fundy Soot - Mienshao, Espeon, Noibat, Shiny Gourgeist, Drapion, Ambipom

Purpled is from the city of Hypixel, where he’s one of the best Battle Tower contestants in the city. When he turned ten he set out on his journey to fully his hone his skills, and has the goal to become the champion. He’s quite picky with his team though, and chooses only to catch Pokémon that fit his signature colour, Purple, which means he doesn’t catch quite a lot of Pokémon.

Dream Wataken, Defending champion, Rival of everyone - Sceptile, Tyranitar, Drifblim, Breloom, Serperior, Manectric

Dream is the older brother of the Ender City gym leader, and the current reigning champion of the DSMP region. Despite being the champion, he still goes out on the Pokémon journey every year during league season, as he sees that it’s only fair that he collects the badges just like everyone else. While his champion persona has quite a big ego, Dream is a very humble person who loves watching and helping young trainers rise to the top. That does not stop him from acting a bit egotistical and over confident sometimes though.

George Nofoun, Trainer - Quagsire, Komala, Walreim, Snorlax, Foongus, Munna

George is from the city of Kinoko, and is a fellow traveler of Dream. He has no real goal he’s striving for, he just kinda wants to take it easy and nap, but Dream insists on dragging him around. George is not necessarily a bad trainer, all of his Pokémon are quite strong, but he just prefers not to battle. His Pokémon are all just as sleep focused as he is, and more than once has one of them fallen asleep during a battle.

Karl Jacobs, Writer - Poliwag, Furret, Tangela, Croagunk, Noctowl, Stufful

Karl is also born in Kinoko City, and is the boyfriend of the gym leader there, and the gym leader of Nevadas City. He travels with George, a longtime friend of his, and Dream, some random dude George has a crush on, and takes inspiration from their battles to write about in his stories. He has a habit of usually inspiring characters in his stories from the people around him, especially his boyfriends. His team mostly consists of Pokémon he found cute or weird, and he uses Poliwag as his ace since it has a similar swirl pattern as his hoodie.

Captain Puffy Schlatt, Pokémon trainer and breeder, rival of Skeppy Halo - Flaaffy, Dubwool, Altaria, Dhelmise, Empoleon, Archeops

Puffy was born in L’Manburg city and is a person who’s truly been there, done that. A former Captain in the Pokémon War, she currently spends her days breeding Wooloo and Mareep. But each year when it’s league season, she sets out to collect all eight badges and challenge the champion to become the very best.

Niki Nihachu, Pokémon Performer, Rival of Ranboo Beloved and Eret King - Female Pyroar, Vaporeon, Milotic, Mimikyu, Cottonee, Fennekin

Niki is from the city of Antarctic, and is a very kind and sweet individual. She started doing Showcases for fun, and never imagined that she’d become one of the most famous Performers of all of DSMP. A lot of her Showcases include Fire, as she never do one without her ace Pyroar. She’s in reality a really strong trainer, she just doesn’t enjoy Pokémon battles that much.

Fundy Soot, Pokémon Trainer, rival of Purpled Bedwars - Thievul, Vulpix, Bronzong, Mienfoo, Scizor, Marowak

The younger brother of the L’Manburg gym leader, who has a huge inferiority complex. Had a nasty fight with his brother before he left on his Pokémon journey which leaves the two in quite an awkward position when Fundy goes to challenge the gym. Aims to become the Pokémon Champion to get out of the shadow of his brother and show that he’s better and also to impress the current champion who is very handsome but shh tell no one

Eret King, Pokémon Performer, Rival of Niki Nihachu and Ranboo Beloved - Mawile, Salazzle, Garchomp, Meowstic female, Gothitelle, Seviper

A true diva from Ender City who’s used to being in the Spotlight. Has been in Showcases for years, and is an icon of all the GNC people, and the first male born performer ever. They were quite nasty when they first started out and even sabotaged his competitors once or twice. They are quite embarrassed by this fact as an adult. Has taken an older sibling role to Fundy, as he’s having a lot of issues with his actual brother. Is genuinely a nice person who’s there if you need a shoulder to lean on.

Foolish Gamrs, Pokémon historian - Cofagrigus Arodactyl, Shieldon, Sharpedo, Sensu Oricoro, Cubone

Foolish is from a desert village right outside of Nevadas City, that are close to ruins of strange triangle structured buildings. Foolish took early interest in the structures and the history of them, and as soon as he could he started to travel around the DSMP. Many of his Pokémon are fossil Pokémon, or Pokémon that could help him during his excavations. Apart from Oricoro, that one he caught to dance with.

Sam Awedude, Officer in training - Fran the Lillipup, Ferrothorn, Golurk, Magnezone, Turtonator, Elgyem

Sam is a citizen from Badlands Island, who’s always looked up to the police force. When he got older he started training to become one himself, together with his trusted partner Fran. As a child, Sam was apart of a terrible accident with a Weezing and it’s gas, which badly damaged his lungs so he’s forced to wear a gas mask everywhere. He’s quite a compassionate and patient person, and his quite fond of the loud ten year old who really should learn that ground is weak against Water.

Ponk Opsby, Nurse in training - Tropius, Blissey, Bounsweet, Pidgeot, Slakoth, Bellsprout

Ponk is a young, hot headed, impulsive person from the city of Hypixel. They used to spend a lot of their childhood in the city’s Pokémon center, just watching all the trainers flock in and out every day, and quickly became fascinated by Nurse Joy and her job. When they met Sam and Foolish, who’d just stopped by the Pokémon center that they were working at, they became fascinated by them both and left to “get some real world experience”, as they call it. Is a very big fan of the Nomel berry, and takes pride in the fact that they can eat them with a total straight face.

Jack Manifold, Pokémon trainer, Rival of Tommy Innit - Druddigon, Raichu, Pyroar Male, Talonflame, Aggron, Samurott

Jack is a man of the city of L’Manburg, and quite a fiery one at that. He’a been determined since the day he turned ten to become the champion, and has built up quite the powerful team over the years. He chooses to travel alone as it gives him more time to individually train his team, but he’s a good friend of Pokémon Performer Niki Nihachu, who he regularly keeps in touch with.

Bad B. Halo, Baker - Muffin the Shroomish, Mr Squee Gee the Wailord, Eggsy the Chansey, Roberto the Blitzle, Snappy the Hydreigon, Lucy (Rat) the Rockruff

Bad is a gentle a kind man from the island of Badlands, and the father of the Kinoko gym leader. He travels together with his husband during league season as he is still a competitor, and it gives Bad a chance to find new exciting ingredients to bake into muffins. He names all of his Pokémon cute little names that Skeppy find stupid, and he cries whenever they get hurt it battle. They’re all his professional taste testers.

Skeppy Halo, Pokémon trainer, - Sableye, Carbink, Impidimp, Gigalith, Lickitung, Gengar

Skeppy is from the Island of Badlands where he grew up in a village in the mountains, surrounded by rock types, which is where he met Roggenrola his first ever Pokémon. Despite being married and a step father, Skeppy still sets out every year to take on the Pokémon league. Fortunately, his husband is very supportive of this and joins him every year on his travels. When he isn’t traveling the region, Skeppy works as a decorator at his husbands bakery, and likes to incorporate gems into the muffin toppings, despite it probably being a choking hazard.

Antfrost Cake, Nurser - Purugly, Delcatty, Purrloin, Persian, Sneasel, Torracat

Antfrost is from the Badlans Island, where he grew up in a cottage in the woods. As a child he had many injured Pokémon come to his family for aid after battles with trainers or other Pokémon, and when he had the chance he set out into the world to help all the injured Pokémon he could find. He has a certain love for feline Pokémon, in case you couldn’t tell from his team.

Punz Bedwars, Mercenary - Absol, Greninja, Lucario, Zangoose, Bisharp, Dewott

Punz is a trainer from Hypixel city, where they grew up caring for their younger brother in their parent’s absence. They are a professional Mercenary, which sounds worse than it is. You simply pay them to do stuff, like catch a specific Pokémon you want, or defeat a trainer that has been bothering you, or take on a gym you couldn’t handle and give you the badge. Despite their hectic job, they still take the time to see all of their brothers gym challenges, as they’re his biggest fan.

Charlie “Slime” Slimesicle, goo researcher - Muk, Goodra, Ditto, Slugma, Milcery, Gulpin

Slime is a professional goo researcher from the city of Nevadas. And you may be wondering, what is a Goo researcher? Like what is the purpose of researching goo? How do you even research goo? Well I hope you’re ready to die with those questions because Slime sure as hell won’t tell ya. He’s a very odd fellow with an odd way of speaking, so most people just leave him be. He’s a good friend of the Nevadas City gym leader however.

Connor Eapans, Racer - Togodemaru, Rapidash, Ninjask, Accelgor, Wooper, Sandshrew

Connor is a young man from Antarctic City, with a need for speed. As a child he was a big fan of the show ‘Sonic the Sandshrew’, which heavily inspired his career choice as an adult. All of his Pokémon are true speedsters, and all have won many medals in races throughout the years. Still, Connor is a goofy person, if not a bit socially awkward, and his biggest accomplishment in life according to him was actually catching himself a Sandshrew.

J. Schlatt, Business man - Gogoat, Combee, Liepard

Jonathan Schlatt, or just Schlatt, is the head of Schlatt & Co, and was born in the city of L’Manburg. He is a very proud man, and a charming one too. There’s been many times that he’s managed to get a business deal by with just words and charms alone. His biggest pride however is his son, who is the reason he has a Combee in his party.

Callahan, ??? - Sawsbuck

Callahan is a hermit that lives out in the woods. No one knows anything about him. He just kinda stands ominously among the trees with his Sawsbuck. Every trainer is scared of him.

And now, the Gym leaders. The three first ones are the ones they use in gym battles, and the three within parentheses are just some extra Pokémon they have.

Hannah X. Rose, Gym leader - Roselia, Steenee, Petilil (Venusaur, Bellossom, Gossifleur)

Hannah is the Gym Leader of Hypixel City, and specializes in grass types. Hannah is not only a gym leader, but also a skilled Battle Tower challenger. She’s a very skilled trainer that enjoys the beauty of grass types, but also the power they possess. She’s a bit like the “What you say about me? Hold my flower” meme. Never underestimate her. She gives out the Thorn Badge.

Haitch Bomb, Gym leader - Sylveon, Spritze, Skitty (Mime Jr, Granbull, Gardevoir)

Haitch is the Gym leader of Cube City, and specializes is fairy types. It may not seem like it if you would just have a look at the guy outside of battle as he seems more like a normal type dude, but in battle he dawns his Skitty Maid outfit and makes everyone uncomfortable. Haitch is actually a very chill dude who likes to give advice to young trainers, and is kinda like that one supportive uncle to them. All the trainers over 18 get a different treatment however, if ya know what I mean. He gives out the Maid Badge.

Alex Quackity, Gym leader - Ludicolo, Ducklett, Golduck (Hawlucha, Cyndaquil, Politoed)

Quackity is the gym leader of Nevadas city, and specializes in water types. He’s a very not serious person with wild battle strategies and multiple personas he puts on. He has a scar over his eye that reaches his mouth, a result of a battle he doesn’t like to talk about. Quackity is the boyfriend of Fantasy writer Karl Jacobs and the Gym leader of Kinoko City, and he often feel sad about the fact that they have to be apart from each other so much. His Pokémon Cyndaquil and Politoed are gifts from the two, and they are amazing at comforting him. He gives out the Duck Badge.

Wilbur Soot, Gym leader - Banette, Froslass, Mismagius (Jigglypuff, Wooloo, Krookodile)

Wilbur Soot is the gym leader of L’Manburg city, and specializes in ghost types. Wilbur is an incredibly unstable person, and a quite depressed one as well. His brother left years ago to follow his own path, leaving Wilbur alone in the abandoned train station that make up his gym. Usually when people go to challenge him, he’s either aimlessly playing his guitar or leaning against the wall, smoking with a dead look in his eyes. Many of the younger trainers are scared of him, but fortunately he’s not the strongest battler so people usually only have to go there once every year during league season. He gives out the Limbo Badge.

Sapnap Halo, Gym leader - Infernape, Alolan Marowak, Houndoom (Pancham, Chimchar, Charizard)

Sapnap is the gym leader of Kinoko City, and specializes in fire types. Sapnap is a very hot headed person, which is very fitting for a fire type trainer, but is at the same time just a chill ass dude. He’s bros with most of the gym leaders and the champion, and dating two wonderful people he love very much. He’s a very protective person who will fight you, and can sometimes go a little hard on trainers Pokémon without realizing it. There’s even a rumor that he once killed a Miltank, but who knows if that’s true. He gives out the Blaze badge.

Philza Minecraft, Gym leader - Honchcrow, Corviknight, Male Unfezant (Tepig, Pluzle, Phantump)

Philza is the gym leader of Hardcore City, and specializes in flying types. He’s a very dad like figure, being the oldest of the gym leaders, and a very encouraging one as well. He’s a very respected person in the region, and a wise one as well. Many of the younger gym trainers usually ask him for advice. He’s a bit of a magnet when it comes to Murkrow however, often having at least five fly around him trying to get his attention and love, which can be quite annoying but he lets them stay. He gives out the Wing Badge.

Drista Wataken, Gym leader - Flygon, Haxorus, Salamence (Lopunny, Kadabra, Mareanie)

Drista is the gym leader of Ender City and specializes in Dragon types. Drista is the youngest gym leader of the region, and the little sister of the champion himself, Dream. She’s a very relaxed person, who’s quite nonchalant in her duties, and can sometimes just give out a badge without battling someone for it if she’s just not up for battling that day. The only person she really goes all out for is her brother. Well, at least until that one annoying loud kid showed up with an ice type and didn’t use it in battle, she kicks his ass anytime she can. She gives out the Smile Badge.

Techno Blade, Gym Leader - Mamoswine, Abomasnow, Steve the Beatric (Doublade, Spoink, Beldum)

Techno is the gym leader of Antarctic city, and specializes in Ice types. Techno is a very monotone person, who usually says things as they are. He prefers to keep to himself, with maybe Philza being the exception, and is quite the awkward individual. Still, he’s one hell of a good trainer, and has ended the career of many you trainers that challenge his gym. Many say that he can probably take in the champion and win easily, but Techno has no interest in that. Too much spotlight for him, he prefers to stay in the north with his Pokémon. He gives out the Tundra Badge.
