Unsigned statement? Letters? This is a new one :)
We've had a hikking/trail statement already, right? I remember something about Gertrude there.
So...woman travelling around a trail. Ok, got it. A woman with a dead lover too.
Yeah, Eustace Wick sounds like a good samaritan. Sure, everything will be alright.
Ok, i love that all this hiking statements end up related with killing/fleshy stuff. The one that took place in the abattoir is also probably related somehow.
No. No. No. No. No eating people. Please don't make me hear it.
"Something greater"? Wait, what is the skmething greater she could be part of? Some kind of possession?
He drowned before the fucking statement? Do these fears make people immortal?
Yeah, Jonny is right. Is almost like the archives just found all of these statements at random. Which would be...you know...very unlikely. Unless, and that's my theory, based on the fact that Elias is apparently somewhat involved in the fear question, there's some other fear/entity behind the archives. Probably related with the eyes that keep popping on statements related with Gertrude and the archives's past. Mostly, i remember that one statement with a german name, in which there was an eye painted on a tomb related with Jonah Magnus, and the statement read by Gertrude which takes place in Egypt. Another hypothesis would be that the archive is some kind of neutral being that just stores knowledge about all the other fears, maybe? But then what, the fears, or the people possessed by the fears just send the statements and the people involved to the institute? It's like the institute is partly in it, but more like a judge of the other entities?
I don't know, have fun with my theories :)

GERTRUDEEEE!!
Ok, what is the thing with these old statements and eyes? What is with the Institute and eyes? And feeling watched apparently. Is this something with whatever entity/thing behind the statement? Feeling of being watched, maybe?
“it was absolute darkness and I could still see” ahhh, sr? I think you just developed nightly vision. Either that or you got momentarily possessed?
Did this guy just saw a cyclop zombie? (more eye’s references, got it!)
Serapeum? Like the one from The Kane Chronicles?
The entrance to the ARCHIVE? Is this thing some kind of variation of the magnus archive? But then, this thing is just too old and is on this fear thing since the beginning! Confirmation that these guys are in, on some of these statements.
“those who sing the night” look, maybe I’m paranoid but there’s too many references to this kind of vaguely cultist stuff in these stories for me to feel comfortable. Are these entities in war against each other and, I don’t know, send cults to attack each other? (Yes, I’m considering the institute as a cult!)
“it too was once an archivist.” HELLO? Ominous much? Is the Archivist more than a title? “A long, unending string of people who call themselves “the archivist” stretching back to…” makes it feel like it has some kind of figure, like the pharaoh for the Egyptian. But then, what does this mean in the archive lore? And if there’s actually a fear behind the institute, does this mean that Jonny is some kind of puppet like Jane Prentiss was? As, u’know, the ARCHIVIST? Because they call him The Archivist in the transcripts, never Jonny or Jonathan.
“Gertrude Robinson is not who I thought she was.” not an old librarian then :)

Quick points about Mag 52:
-I remembered the name Montauk from somewhere. Quick check tells me that he is the Serial Killer from one of the first statements. No idea what is happening with him, except serial killer-ish.
-Tim's theories about Jonny and Basira being an item are so funny :)
-Look, what kind of fear is going on with this one? Fear of the dark? Look, I'm pretty sure the dark does not kill people! Edit: I just had an epiphany over this point. Is this the fear of the dark or the fear of whatever is in it? Like the boggeyman?! That would explain the killing, I suppose, but it feels very specific. Like all other fears are very broad like fear of going crazy, fear of being lonely, fear of closed spaces (I'm still not sure about this one, from the caving episode, maybe (??)), etc, etc. Fear of the monster who hides in the dark is very specific compared will all the others
-my mind does not work well here. They started talking about wounds and my mind just went :"28 sTaBs WoUnDs"
-Check for Maxwell Rayner, whoever he is (at this point I need a list for random names who appear here)
-"You didn't think you could kill it for long, did you?"- kill IT? or just kill it, as something not human? How do you kill a it? Is the it an animal?

“Is it Elias now then?”
What was it before? WHAT WAS IT BEFORE, JON?
Also, Sarah Baldwin trespassed? I’m assuming that this is not about the fact people were not supposed to be on the hospital. Does that mean in terms of fears? Is the hospital important to another fear?

So, Jon makes people want to give statements, tell the truth. Is that why everyone calls him “The Archivist”, like a title? And every Archivist has the same ability, an (kinda) hereditary capacity? But then, wtf is this thing with Elias? Is he a manifestation of the fear, so closer to it than Jon? Though, 100% that recorder is supernatural, it just turns on by its own lol.
Also, does Daisy hunts these fears? Because this sounds more personal than it should, since before she was kinda hoping to get out of this mess...

Wtf was this episode.
First, ELIAS YOU DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION! Is Jon still human? Also, this does that confirm that the thing in Alexandria was an Archivist so, are there more versions of the MA throughout the world?
Second, I’m now pretty sure that The Stranger and its ritual are the villain of the season. And, The Stranger is the fear of the unknown right? So, it does make sense it is the opposite to the Eye which is all about knowledge. But then, what does this means to other fears? Could some of them work with each other? And not just occupy the same space. We know they could that from one of the previous statements. Does this means that the spider thing actually helped the Jane Prentiss’ one invade the institute? It also helped the Stranger to get access to Sasha, though. Or was that a coincidence?
Third, Would Elias be capable of going through more statements than Jon? Implying that, while both are possessed/related to the Eye, Elias is higher in the hierarchy? But if so, why does Elias not stop The Unknowing by himself?
Next, since everyone is apparently related to Elias, what happens if he dies from natural causes? Does everyone die too? Or just if someone kills him? And what is considered killing him? How would that be measured? Is the entity seeing to that?
Also, I know that i’ve already asked but wtf is going on with Daisy? And what does Elias mean with “Your last connection to humanity.” ? Is she also in this “people related to fears” situation? Is she also connected to a fear? Lady, some peace, please.
Lastly, Someone let Martin take a nap.

So, I’m pretty sure this fear is related to perception. I don’t know if this is Spiral, because it would not make sense with the throwing people out of high places, but maybe something more like how you perceive everything around you, but not from your head, more from the outside.

Ok, I have so many thoughts about the post statement and the supplemental.
Diego Molina is the guy from the hospital, right? Why would Arthur Nolan be involved in this? Is he related with flames in any way before this? Who is the short lady? Should I already know her?
"The cult of the lightless flame"? Jon what do you know, where did you get this? What kind of fear are they related anyway? Fear of fire? Fear of burning? Or is this something more philosophical like the fire of life or something (omg ignore me, I was listening to "Just like fire" at the time, that's so corny)? Also, I would love to say that Jon is seeing too much into this, but these are SOO related with the circle in Scotland!
What does Agnes has to do with all of these different fears? She is definitely related with fire and maybe with spiders but what about the tree? And what made her have this relationship with fire?
"You know how hard it would be to replace you"- 99% of the time Elias is vaguely scary and this is that 1% (more or less, i suppose?). This said, please listen to your employees' worries about their workplace! I would also be unsettled if I had to work in a place with numerous tunnels in which someone had already died.

i dont watch the magnus archives, but this is the impression I'm getting?
tim: archive's haunted jon: what? tim: *loading a pistol and going back to the archives* archive's haunted."
Hey anon!
Omg yes. Give Tim a gun!
But, no I don't think there's a haunting going on at the moment. It just feels like some kind of magnetic field that stops people from leaving (forever, not just going home) after they are already there.
It's very interesting really, you should consider giving the podcast a chance.

I'm sorry, I would like to ask why the fuck Tim cannot quit the archives? Wtf is going on?
No one can convince me that there's no fear behind the archive, there's no way. I'm not sure what but i'm pretty sure Jon's paranoia has something to do with it.

Mary Keay is unsettling. What in the hell is she doing? From “We are the same” thing with Gertrude to whatever she has with the Institute, she gives the serious creeps.
And I really hate that she is very much relacted to books.

A Journal of the Plague Year- Diseases! This is the entity related to Jane Prentiss!
Boneturner's Tale- this is more related with body horror. Maybe the meat thing? or The Stranger?

“Thomas McMann was stabbed through the throat by something with too many teeth and limbs like knives.”- not sure but some of the episodes who involved monsters? Werewolves, vampires, ect
“Mary Johnson was pulled into a cavernous maw that opened beneath her.”- Twillight zone monster, whoever it is (sky diving; the guy who dissapeared in Paris,  etc)
“Gregory Todd ran into a door that shouldn’t have been there.”- Spiral- stuff who was not there
“A great hand reached down through the roof and plucked away Leandra Toulouse.”- no idea what the hell is going on here
“he was being pulled into a great, pulsating pile of meat.”- the meat statements and tom Haan
Perhaps I was sensible enough to steer clear of the rooms that had fallen into darkness, or burned with a fire- darkness and fear of fire, respectively (maybe.)
There was also the fear of being lonely who is not there, I think and the Eye. and the Stranger. And the Jane Prentiss related too

Yeah, Lucy's mom will definitely be fine. It is just a coincidence that we just got an entire entry about the possibility of her death.

Did I just connect the fact that Lucy looks anemic with the fact that Dracula has been drinking her blood? DID I? CAN I BE MORE IDIOT THAN THIS?

I have so many questions about today's entry of Dracula Daily:
-Is little girl an normal expression at the time? Cause it was creepy.
-I want backstory for all these three gentleman, pls! Especially the cowboy, thanks.
-It's so funny that Jonathan is losing his mind on the count's castle and Mina and Lucy are writing back and forth about men!
-Also, this chapter shows that this story was written by a man. Stop that Lucy!

My #1 post of 2022
The weirdest part of the Boris Jonhson's resignation is that I discovered that number 10 has a resident cat and that half of the english part of Tumblr wants it to be the next prime minister and if that is not representative of the state of politics I don't know what it is.

Gertrude definitely knew more about what is going on than Jonny, so it's obvious that the institute had already some knowledge about some of these statements than they told Jonny.
But why? Do they actually want Jonny to have a mental breakdown? Are they manipulating him and are the reason for the "feeling seen" problem? Elias of course knows something else but I don't really know if he knows just about specific statements (the Lukas family ones and these) or just in general, tho. Did he know about Jane Prentiss? The spider problem who keeps popping in and out? The other random cases who appear to be recorded? This statements take place everywhere in the world too, so whatever is provoking this does not care about physical barriers and travel which strengthens the "fear entities" theory, since fear is not specific from a place. Cause if it was a god problem it would probably be more contained to whatever this god is worshipped, but everyone fears something, so... maybe?
