Sunday, November 10, 2019 inside of Nashville’s Parthenon, right up under Alan LeQuire’s Athena sculpture. I was invited by @chatterbird to curate and collaborate on an improvised live scoring of Nashville archival footage provided by the library’s Kelli, for ECHO, a series of sonic events held by @conservancynash. The ensemble I chose was comprised of (left to right) Timbre Cierpke @timbretimbretimbre, harp; Celine Thackston @celinabee123, flute; Maya Stone @mayastonebsn, bassoon; Joshua Dent @joshthecellist, cello; JayVe Montgomery @abstractblack, voice, percussion, sax, electronics; Wu Fei @wufeimusic, guzheng. Improvisations in B flat and C; the videos here are presented in reverse order because the vocoder. On April 18th, 2009, something magical happened. #EarthDay and #RecordStoreDay fell on the same weekend. I'm pretty sure all these photos were taken with actual film. @csk8252 and I saw @theavettbrothers in the parking lot of Grimey's and @thebasementnash just shy of ten years ago . We got free records and tees (which I still have both), then attended the Earth Day Celebration at @conservancynash , where we ran into @beepbee1869 , @juliabear2002 , and a baby @bigfooy1 .
