Andrea: You were just cordially invited to my family's Thanksgiving diner by my aunts. 'Dating' or not. You made quite an impression on them and they miss you.
Andrea: I was also strictly instructed to not inform you on their sixth rerun of your season of the Bachelor.

“So either you really enjoy my cooking, or you’re being very polite,” Gemma stacked his empty plate onto her own as she moved towards the kitchen counter. “Regardless of the truth, I’m just going to assume it’s the first for the sake of my ego.”

kiyan wouldn't say he's dreading the event at the palace, but there is a small part of him that would much rather just be ... well, just about anywhere else. there's the pressure on him from his family to find a wife as well as the responsibility of vetting all the other eligible bachelors for his sisters. so there's no surprise that he decided to visit almon's books just to peruse the aisles and see if john had anything new taken in recently. he leaves the shop empty handed, about to be en route to the palace, so he's dressed in all his proper attire. he's sure he's sticking out amongst the people in the streets, but he is definitely taking his time to walk to where his footman waits for him. he doesn't see ariana right away as he's walking, but when he does, there's still the faint feeling of butterflies in his stomach that he has to push down to ignore. "miss yadav," he says with the faintest of smiles as he slows. "it's a lovely day, isn't it?"

She shut the book in her lap with a loud slap and looked up at River. “If I read any more of this my brain is going to explode,” The exam for her certification was coming up soon, which resulted in her spending most of her time studying and stressing. Though, luckily some of the time in good company. “Can we do something fun? I need to not think for a bit.”

"Hello, Bruce."
She sits beside him; a comforting, familiar presence.
"I heard you were looking for me."
His mouth opens to ask, but the words fizzle out while still behind his teeth. Because he knows.
Like every other thing that’s living, that has ever lived, Bruce Banner recognizes Death on sight. It can’t be otherwise. Every living thing in some way knows its fate. It remembers it as an old belonging, of sorts. Every living thing, whether it’s conscious of the fact, knows how to die.
(Unless something has gone… wrong.)
He doesn’t think about this. He doesn’t think at all. He gazes at her as if in a trance, or like an infant staring into the sky.
“I didn’t think it’d be like this,” he murmurs. “With you being… you know, a person who actually shows up… or it coming on without me noticing. What happened? Can I ask? It had to- it had to have been quick. Or maybe all the radiation finally got me?”
He thinks, briefly, on those whose paths he’s crossed, doorways he’s darkened longer than he ever had a right to, despite open invitation to do so. Pleading, in some cases. Banner feels a pang at the realization that there will, in fact, be some who will grieve for him, whether or not it makes sense. In the same way they loved him, really. But another feeling bubbles up in him at the thought that one way or another, it doesn’t matter anymore. He’s done. He’s free.
He doesn’t even mind the animal panic bucking like an unbroken horse in the back of his head. It doesn’t belong to him, after all. And if Death is here already… there’s no way out of it. Not even for the strongest.
“Where am I going? Is it anywhere?”

ai generated images make me increasingly sad and tired the more i see them in more and more casual contexts. i dont know how to explain, but it just fills the world with a bunch of nothing. no matter how visually stunning the pictures might be, there's nothing behind it for me. no dedication, no emotions, no feelings, no hard work or creativity, nothing i can truly think about, admire or enjoy. i dont think thats how art is supposed to be

“So, are there any baby shower plans already? Or is that something I should’ve been planning all along without any question or warning?” Andrea wondered. “If it’s the latter, I’ve obviously got it all under control and there’s no need to panic.”

“Guitar boy,” Olivia called out. Admittedly, she’d completely blanked on his name, and figured this could at least be a nice nod to their initial meeting. “Played any parties lately?”

“See? I told you this place has the absolute best coffee.” Gemma noted after her first sip of the fresh cup of coffee. It was the closest thing to the coffee she’d been used to, so it had been an immediate win when she found the place. “Figured you could use a good cup.”

The Eurovision song contest is facing intense scrunity and accusations of discrimination after it rebuked Swedish-Palestinian pop star Eric Saade for wearing a Palestinian scarf in the opening act of the semi-finals. Saade, whose father is of Palestinian origin, kicked off the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden on Tuesday evening with a keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian and Arab male headdress, wrapped around his wrist. [...] In response, the organisers of the contest, European Broadcasting Union (EBU) released a statement saying it "regretted" that Saade wore the scarf. "The Eurovision Song Contest is a live TV show. All performers are made aware of the rules of the contest, and we regret that Eric Saade chose to compromise the non-political nature of the event," it said. [...] Eurovision later posted clips of the performances of the other two opening acts on its social media pages, but did not share Saade’s, prompting social media users to share the performance on their personal pages to show support for the artist.
Waving Palestinian flags, wearing traditional Palestinian garments, or if we're being honest, just being Palestinian, is now officially "too political" for Eurovision.
Literally, all Saade did was wear a keffiyeh around his wrist—while being Palestinian—and that was enough to get a statement from the EBU, and have his opening performance scrubbed from Youtube.
If you're not already boycotting Eurovision this year, then what the fuck is wrong with you?

Below are two statements from Saade. The first one, giving his reason for participating, was posted a few days ago, and the other was in response to the EBU accusing him of 'compromising the non-political nature' of the Genocide Song Contest:

Apparently there was some kind of race scheduled at a local park or something so I've been trying to avoid the main trail but a little while ago when I had to cross near it I overheard the following shouted exchange
Higher feminine voice: woo, look at you go! You're jogging! Keep it up!
Lower masculine voice (panting): you know it! Last place is still a place, baby!
And goddamn if that didn't rewire my brain a little bit.
Last place is still a place, baby.
