platonically intimate rowan and mc makes my heart happy. just stroking rowans hair while his head is in mcs lap and cooking food together and sharing a bed and helping each other with stage outfits and <3 i hope seven suffers as much as mc in the sevenmancer route (affectionate) (by extention this may or may not make rowan suffer but i choose not to think about that. sob.)

There's actually a moment I had thought up in the shower (pls excuse me thats where i get my best ideas) of how the convo went down

a scene you can *possibly* get in chapter two where MC lays down in their bunk and Rowan is asleep. His arm is hanging low and MC, not having a Good Time (for reasons I can't share) asks Rowan something. He senses something is off and he is so so sleepy he can hardly talk but he refuses to sleep until MC confirms they're fine by squeezing his hand. Once MC does that, he immediately knocks out. Even though he's immensely tired, he doesn't go back to sleep until he's made sure a friend of his is alright.

It's little things like that where I try to let how close the friendships are in The Band. All of them read much more than friends to me. I feel like Iris, Devyn, Rowan, Jazzy and MC are soulmates.

I think I enjoy writing the band's friendship more than anything else haha mostly because it's a bit rare to be friends with your high school mates for that long and still have that level of closeness they have. MC will definitely be on the giving end of comfort for all of them in the story, so that's interesting !

Rhysand/Azriel similar scenes & reactions...

At the end of Acotar when Rhysand and Feyre are saying goodbye to each other we see this moment happen..

Now as l was rereading acowar I noticed a similar scene with Azriel & Elain.

After coming home from their visit to The court of nightmares Elain comes down the steps and is talking about the visions she's having (this is before they figured out she is a seer) and azriel asks her what she sees..

She tells them what she sees and this was Azriels response in the next page..

Notice how His eyes churn while he studies elain.. there is emotion in them .. and then he just winnows away without a word. Why would he just leave without saying goodbye? Azriel doesn't just up and bounce in the middle of conversations let alone without saying goodbye or giving some sort of reason..We know azriel wasn't thinking about her powers because he doesn't figure out she's a seer until 50 pages later.. so what was azriel feeling or thinking in that moment looking at elain that caused him emotion and to just leave without a word?

More importantly why was Mor staring at the space long after he was gone? Seems like she's thinking about what just happened in that convo and why azriel reacted that way?

This is just another "HUH" instance between Elain&Azriel. Another moment that alludes to something else going on but we don't know what yet.(there are a few scenes that exude mate behavior between elriel but for this post I just want to focus on this specific scene and how it’s interesting that it’s similar to rhysand scene in acotar)

Now if you know me l have been saying for quiet sometime I truly believe elain and Lucien will mutually reject their bond. I've always said I hope elain and azriel are that couple that choose love over a mate bond.

However I can't deny there are a few things that point to the possibility of them being mates as well. (I have a few theories on how this could play out). I find these scenes interesting since Rhysand and Azriel have similar reactions but we don't know why Azriel has that reaction yet..

HOFAS SPOILERS BELOW

Now I know in his Bonus chapter for Hofas Azriel says he doesn't have a mate. BUT what if elain is his mate he just doesn't realize what he is feeling is a mating bond because as of now she is mates with Lucien.. so he doesn't even think it's a possibility they could be mates because as of now in the story we haven't met anyone who's had more then one mate. So he's just feeling something deep and doesn't realize what it is... or simply maybe a mating bond hasn't snapped for them either yet.

Everybody likes to think it's a "ridiculous" theory that elain and azriel could be mates too but let's not forget..

TOG SPOILERS BELOW

For 6 out of the 8 TOG books Rowan & us the readers were told Lyria & Rowan were mates as well. Rowan often questioned what he felt about Aelin because he felt strongly about her but had already had his Mate who died ( he didn't know Maeve messed w him yet).

So let's not act like any of this with Elain & Azriel isn't in the realm of possibility

misc twst headcanons..-freckle crew!! -> cater, rook, ruggie, ace, and riddle (but only during summertime, they disappear in winter)

-kalim currently has a broken phone screen.. he just keeps breaking it in a bajillion different ways (stepped on by elephant, fell off during a magic carpet ride, etc..). at some point jamil had to be like, kalim you can't just keep buying a new phone every week..he's currently on phone #21

-ortho's eyes def do that beanie boo thing where it looks like he staring at any angle

-azul, being the neat freak he is, is so on top with maintaining his human form that if he ever does start shifting it's literally soo slow. like if anything does happen, only his eyes change. jade and floyd like to point it out at the last possible minute <3

-weekly gossip between cater, ruggie, and jamil. they go to cafes to talk mad shit

-leona's pupils are constantly dilated--he likes his room dark while he naps so his eyes simply react to the lighting.

-probably killed someone AT LEAST once crew -> ruggie, jade or floyd, jamil, and ofc--malleus and lilia.

-ruggie also has a cracked phone screen, and doesn't bother to work toward getting it replaced. leona saw it one time and he was like, i can buy you a new one man, but ruggie started going on about how the cracks gave the phone character. leona dropped that convo so fast lol.

-out of the first years, ranking of who curses the most to the least: epel (he gotta drop at least ten a day), ace (he does it conversationally--like a middle school boy), jack (occasional), deuce (he used to curse a toon, but after dropping the delinquent thing he stopped almost entirely), and sebek ("it would be a severe disgrace if my life were to hear me curse in any way shape or form..")

-grim has pajamas. fish ones. he also has ASS handwriting and always tries to say it's his paws that are to blame and not that he's a grubby lil guy.

-jade got his pupils constantly constricted cause surface brightness is a KILLER. floyd is the opposite --he likes em dilated so he can see everything.

-jamil and ruggie in the baggie clothes crew 4 life

-malleus and lilia can't lie because they're fae. sebek escaped this fate, but sometimes he seriously cannot lie and it bothers him.

-sometimes they gotta do inventory at heartslabyul cause trey WILL start baking on a whim. "i just felt like getting my hands dirty." bestie the fridge is still full of the pastries from last week..

-cater uses his um to distract himself from the voices. you're sad? no--talk to your clooonesss!!

-jack and cats are a no -no. they just end up scratching him and running away and he gets so sad about it.

-pomefiore has monthly dorm-wide sleepovers. vil made it a tradition because self-care is self healing!!

-leona's hair is probably curlier than it actually appears, just because he treats it when in the mood.

-i like to think lilia had to warn silver from doing certain things if he ever came across fae other than the diasomnia fam. like, keeping rowan berries around his neck, salt in his pockets, never telling fae his name n stuff.
