Various Shooting Competitions in Australia.
Tumblr media
Australia has a rich history in sport on the world stage. There are various sports played in Australia and Cricket is the National Sport of Australia.
Shooting is one of the few sports that encourages and caters for the participation of the young and old, males and females, able-bodied and disabled. Sport shooting is a family-oriented pastime.
There are various shooting competitions in Australia. And people participate in such a way that makes the sport more interesting. Here are the various shooting competitions in Australia.
Action Match
Action Match is a dynamic handgun shooting competition catering to revolver and self-loading pistol shooters. While international rules dictate that the firearm’s calibre must be at least 9mm, due to Australia’s handgun regulations, Action Match competitors can use either a .38 Super or 9mm Parabellum self-loading pistol or a .38 Special/.357 Magnum revolver.
The competition includes four firearm classes and four main courses of fire, with each course having its own time, distance and scoring conditions. Action Match also has a subdiscipline called Steel Challenge, which caters to both rimfire and centrefire handgun events.
Air Rifle Speed Target
Air Rifle Field Target is a simulated field-shooting competition that caters to springer and precharged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle shooters. The competition includes five firearm classes: Open Air Rifle, Open PCP, Open Springer, International PCP and International Springer, with shooters aiming to hit reactive ‘fall-when-hit’ targets of various sizes at often unknown ranges from 8 to 50m.
As the name suggests, Air Rifle Field Target lends itself to being contested in a bush-type environment, although it may also be held on a more traditional range line.
Benchrest
Benchrest is a precision rifle shooting competition where shooters aim to put five or 10 shots into the smallest possible group on paper targets placed at 50m, 100, 200 and 300 yards.
Groups are measured from the centre to the centre of the two widest shots in a group. Rifles are fired from rests, comprising a front rest to support the fore-end and a rear sandbag to support the rifle’s butt.
Benchrest includes 10 main classes within this competition, with the differences largely determined by rifle weight and calibre.
Big Game Rifle
Big Game Rifle is a rifle shooting competition that aims to foster the collection, preservation and use of vintage and modern classic large-calibre big-game rifles, particularly those of British origin, including black powder and early Nitro cartridge firearms.
The competition includes eight categories of matches and the courses of fire within these are largely determined by rifle types and eras, shooting times and shooting positions. The matches aim to simulate field-shooting conditions to improve the shooter’s firearm skills in the pursuit of large and dangerous game.
Combined Services
Combined Services is a rifle and handgun shooting competition that aims to encourage organised competitive shooting with a view towards a better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of military or service firearms.
The competition encompasses more than a dozen Service Rifle and Service Pistol classes in which competitors use original or faithful reproduction rimfire, centrefire and black powder military and other service rifles, carbines, revolvers and self-loading pistols shoot for score at paper targets of different sizes and from various distances and positions.
Field Rifle, 3-Positional, Scoped Air Rifle and NRA Any Sight
Field Rifle & 3-Positional is a rifle competition that aims to improve hunting marksmanship under rifle range conditions, while teaching them the capabilities and limitations of their equipment.
Field Rifle uses rimfire and centrefire rifles and is designed around the four most used field shooting positions of rapid fire, standing, standing post rest and sitting/kneeling post rest over various distances, while 3-Positional uses the same rifles as Field Rifle, but is a slow-fire event that uses the prone, standing and sitting/kneeling positions.
Fly Shoot
Fly Shoot is a shooting competition that caters exclusively to rifles. The competition includes Rimfire and Centrefire matches generally shot at 200 yards and 500m respectively. Each match comprises five targets, with the target having a ‘fly’ 30mm in size as the X-ring and scoring rings around it.
Fly Shoot is a unique competition as both the size of the groups and scores count towards a shooter’s final result. It is best to try to keep the five-shot group as close to the fly as possible for a maximum score.
Gallery Rifle
Gallery Rifle includes short- and medium-distance shooting events for rifles and pistols chambered in pistol-calibre cartridges. The international rule book comprises four main events: Gallery Rifle Centrefire, Gallery Rifle Smallbore, Long Barrelled Revolver and Long Barrelled Pistol, though the SSAA principally supports Gallery Rifle Centrefire at a national level.
This event is based around scoped and iron-sighted tubular magazine lever-action rifles in .32-20, .38-.357, .44 and .45 pistol calibres. Gallery Rifle matches require the competitor to load and shoot very quickly either at stationary paper or reactive steel targets.
International Handgun Metallic Silhouette
International Handgun Metallic Silhouette is a rimfire and centrefire revolver and pistol shooting competition where competitors aim to knock down metal animal-shaped targets. The targets are placed on steel stands in banks of five and set at a variety of known distances, with the competitors having a certain amount of time to knock as many down as they can.
The firearms used must fall into one of four categories: Production, Revolver, Standing and Unlimited, and there are three official matches: Big Bore, Smallbore and Field Pistol, with each match having its own categories.
Law Enforcement Activities
Law Enforcement Activities is a handgun shooting competition that aims to encourage organised competitive shooting of law enforcement-orientated Australian and international handgun matches. The matches involve the use of centrefire revolvers and self-loading pistols, which are shot at various targets from various distances and positions.
Lever Action
Lever Action is a shooting competition that caters exclusively for lever-action rifles. The competition includes two categories: Classic Calibre for as-issued rifles in any centrefire cartridge produced up to 1938 and Open Calibre for rifles in any factory, hand loaded or wildcat rimfire or centrefire cartridge.
Lever Action aims to improve hunting marksmanship skills and includes contour animal profile targets and traditional paper ring targets. The matches require a variety of shooting positions and distances, and courses of fire can vary from 15 seconds to five minutes for five shots.
Long Range Precision
Long Range Precision is a handgun, rifle and black powder rifle competition that aims to refine and develop the accuracy of firearms, ammunition and equipment for shooting at extreme distances.
The handgun events vary from rimfire to centrefire calibres and are shot up to 500m, while the rifle events cover .22LR to .50 BMG calibres and are shot up to 2000m. The core matches require the competitor to shoot five shots from a cold barrel, without the use of benches or wind flags, as they would in a normal field situation.
Muzzleloading
Muzzleloading is an interactive competition that caters to the original and replica rifles, muskets, handguns and shotguns that were used during Australia’s colonial days. The firearm categories are very detailed, with each having its own classes and subsections.
The rifle events are shot from the offhand, cross-sticks/prone, bench rest and sometimes kneeling/sitting positions, while the shotgun events are shot around stations placed various distances from the thrower, shooting 25 clay targets overall. In addition to range shooting, Muzzleloading shooters are often enthusiastic followers of historical events and re-enactments.
Practical Shooting
Practical Shooting is a quick and energetic competition that caters to rimfire and centrefire pistols, revolvers and rifles, and shotguns, with each having their own classes.
Most matches comprise a minimum of three stages and the courses of fire are designed to offer challenging and active scenarios that test the capacity of the shooter and their equipment.
The targets are mainly paper, cardboard or steel, and the competitor is scored on their accuracy and time in comparison with all the scores and times shot on the day.
Rifle Metallic Silhouette
Rifle Metallic Silhouette is an air, rimfire, centrefire, service and black powder rifle shooting competition where competitors aim to knock down metal animal-shaped targets.
The targets are placed on steel stands in banks of five and set at a variety of known distances, with the competitors having a certain amount of time to knock as many down as they can.
The various competitions are shot from a range of distance and positions, depending on the firearm calibre and category, but all competitions aim to improve hunting marksmanship skills under range conditions.
Shotgun
Shotgun permits the use of any smoothbore shotgun up to 12-gauge to shoot clay targets. The competition includes four main competitions.
Sporting Clays is usually held in a bush setting, with competitors shooting from six or seven stands and traps throwing targets to simulate hunting. 5-Stand has five stands separated by a couple of metres each, with traps throwing single or double targets in different directions.
Low-Field and High-Field competitions are shot from pads level with or close to the trap house and the traps being above or below ground level.
Single Action
Single Action is a multifaceted competition that uses original or replica firearms that were commonly used in the Old West period of 1800 to 1899.
This includes single-action revolvers, lever-action and slide-action rifles and carbines, lever-action and pump-action shotguns, and side-by-side shotguns without automatic ejectors. The targets are generally reactive and vary in shape and dimension.
In addition to competition, Single Action shooters also preserve, promote and respect the skills, traditions and pioneering spirit of the historic American Old West, often adopting a shooting alias appropriate to the era.
Target Pistol
Target Pistol is an international rimfire and centrefire revolver and self-loading pistol shooting competition. There are six main classes and several side matches, with each based around the class of the handgun and ammunition used and many having their roots in different eras and types of service pistol shooting.
The competition includes four main matches: National Match Course, 900 Match Course, International Mayleigh Match, and Short Course Match, and competitors have varying time restrictions to shoot single-handedly in the standing position at paper targets placed at 25 and 50m.
Various shooting competitions can have variety of different shooters uniform to wear. Design Your Own Custom Shooting Jerseys with Colourup Uniforms.

Get the best school uniforms in Australia with ColourUp Uniforms

A school uniform is worn by students for a school or other educational institution. One of the problems that students face when they do not wear a uniform, is that their focus can be drawn away from their schooling and become more so about their fashion choices. There will be some competition between students, which is not a good thing. They want to see who can wear better clothes, which puts unnecessary stress on both the parents and students.

Top 5 Sports Played in Western Australia
Tumblr media
Sport is an important part of Australia that dates to the early stages of our nation’s origins. Cricket, Australian rules football, rugby league, rugby union, soccer and tennis are among the earliest organised sports in Australia, which have helped shape the Australian national identity through events such as the Ashes, the Melbourne Cup and the America's Cup.
Australian Rules Football
Tumblr media
Australian rules football is also known as Australian football or Aussie rules is a sport played between two teams of eighteen players. Points are scored by kicking the ball between the middle goal posts. The "home" of Australian rules football in Perth is Perth Stadium, commercially known as Optus Stadium. There is also a local West Australian Football League (WAFL) with nine clubs representing metropolitan regions of Perth. Australian rules football is the most popular football code in Western Australia with over 1,030,000 spectators attending WAFL and AFL matches in 2004. Western Australia has a proud history in interstate football, having a successful historical record and winning three Australian Championships and a State of Origin Carnival Championship, in the State of Origin era.
 Cricket
Tumblr media
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 20-metre pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at the wicket with the bat, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Cricket is one of the most popular sports in Western Australia. The governing body of the game in WA is the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA). Western Australia is represented at Sheffield Shield and domestic one-day level by the Western Warriors, and in the Big Bash League by the Perth Scorchers. The WACA also hosts international Test and One Day International cricket matches. The Western Fury represent WA in the Women's National Cricket League.
 Basketball
Tumblr media
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball. Western Australia's number one basketball team is the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League. The Wildcats' sister team is the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League. Western Australia also has a second-tier basketball league, the State Basketball League, with teams located in Perth, Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie and Geraldton.
 Field Hockey
Tumblr media
Field hockey is a widely played team sport of the hockey family. The game can be played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf or synthetic field, as well as an indoor boarded surface. Each team plays with ten field players and a goalkeeper.
Perth has a strong regional field hockey competition. There are many field hockey clubs for children, men, women and veterans. Western Australia contributes significantly to the national Australian men's and ladies' hockey teams which have both been winners of Olympic Gold Medals.
The Australian Institute of Sport hockey unit has been based in Perth since 1984, when it was the first sport to be decentralised.
The 6,000 seat Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University is the premier hockey venue in the state and is the home of state teams Perth Thundersticks and the WA Diamonds.
 Netball
Tumblr media
Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Netball is most popular in many Commonwealth nations, specifically in schools, and is predominantly played by women. Netball is the highest female participation sport in females in Western Australia, with more than 150,000 participants. West Coast Fever plays in the National Netball League and is the premier netball team in WA. Their home court is Perth Arena.

Design Your Own Custom Fishing Shirts with Smart Sun Protection
Tumblr media
There is nothing better than a day in the great outdoors to catch the fish.
Sunlight plays a major role with your fishing day. When natural sunlight hits the skin, it triggers the body's production of vitamin D. It is a crucial ingredient for overall health, protects against inflammation, lowers high blood pressure, helps muscles, and improves brain function.
Tumblr media
Despite all the benefits, Ultraviolet radiations are emitted from the sun. If people are exposed to UV rays, then it will cause premature aging of the skin and signs of sun damage such as wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, actinic keratosis, and solar elastosis, as well as more severe consequences such as skin cancer.
Tumblr media
We provide the best solution to protect you from the sun's UV rays.

Pool & Snooker - Tips for Beginners from ColourUp Australia
Tumblr media
Snooker is played on a rectangular table covered with a green cloth, with pockets at each of the four corners and in the middle of each long side. Using a cue stick and 21 coloured balls, players must strike the white ball to pot or pocket the remaining balls in the correct sequence, accumulating points for each pot. An individual game is won by the player scoring the most points. A match is won when a player wins a predetermined number of frames.
Gripping A Snooker Cue
The first thing you need to teach yourself as a snooker beginner is learning how to grip your cue. Gripping your cue greatly determines how you play a snooker championship game. When gripping your cue, always ensure that you don’t grip it too loosely or tightly.
Tumblr media
Work to see you have a natural grip of your cue. Having difficulties finding the perfect cue grip? Simply put the cue stick down on the snooker table then pick it up as this will become your natural grip.
 Find The Perfect Snooker Bridge
Finding the perfect snooker bridge is another great tip for snooker beginners. When finding the right snooker bridge, always ensure that your hand is perfectly placed on the table. If you are having difficulties bridging in snooker then here is a perfect effortless tip.
Start by placing your hand flat on the billiards table and then spread your fingers. Now raise your knuckles and keep your fingertips on the table. Once you have done this now take your thumb and bring it up to the forefinger. Make sure that it does not move when you are cueing.
If you do this correctly, you will have a good base to run your cue stick through.
 Work On Your Sighting
Tumblr media
Another great snooker tip for beginners is practicing or working on your sighting. In fact, this tip is not just for beginners even pros are and should work on their sighting. Why is sighting important? Well, you need to ensure that your aim is good. You can only achieve this with a great vision or sighting. One way you can work on your sighting is switching glance.
When you move and go down to take your shot, switch your glance back and forth. Do this in two specific areas, one, where the cue stick is going to strike the cue ball and the object you want to hit. Once you perfect this, you will have a valuable and priceless sighting in snooker. When it comes to snooker sighting, just make sure that you don’t look at the cue ball when taking your shot. Instead, focus mainly on the object ball only.
 Practise Good Cueing Action
Having a good cue action is mandatory for snooker player thus the need for beginners to familiarise with it. With a good cueing action, you’ll be able to hit all your snooker balls more accurately. This ultimately is sure to increase your performance especially if coupled up with sightings.
If you are new to snooker cueing action, there are a few things that’ll help you find your best cue. For starters, when cueing, try as much as possible to keep your arms still when hitting the ball. Ensure that the elbow of the hand you are using to hold the cue stick is in line with the cue ball.
Sticking your elbow out or tucking it into your body when taking your shots can easily result in you not hitting the ball straight or accurately.
 Establish Your Stance
Tumblr media
Establishing your stance is very important in snooker. In case you are wondering, your stance in snooker refers to your position. With your stance, you want to ensure that you maintain a firm base before taking your shot. This way, you’ll be increasing the chances of you having or making a straight accurate shot.
When establishing your snooker stance, there are a few things you ought to consider. For instance, you need to factor in which side of the hand you use and your weight. If you are using your right hand, make sure that most of your body weight is over your left foot. At the same time, the cue stick should be moving across your right foot’s tip.
Like any other cue sport, snooker championship requires skills and practice for you to compete with the best. Luckily, there are several places Australia wide that offer snooker game spots for you to practice. Once you are familiar with it and you are playing well, you will be surprised by how enjoyable it is.

Rugby League - Healthy Diet for Australians
Tumblr media
Rugby League is a popular Australian sport played by both professionals and amateurs. Forwards usually weigh between 90-110kg. They need to be heavier due to their involvement in the scrums and tackling. Backs usually weigh between 80-95kg. They need to be more agile and so tend to be smaller and leaner.
About Rugby League
Rugby League is a popular contact ball sport played at both a professional and amateur level. Teams have 13 players, with 6 ‘Forwards’ and 7 ‘Backs’. Each team also has 4 substitute players – up to 8 interchanges can be made over a match at professional level in Australia.
Forwards are typically larger and more muscular than backs – they usually weigh between 90-110kg. Their position relies on their strength and size to be successful in their involvement with scrums and tackling. Backs are typically smaller and leaner – they usually weigh between 80-95kg. Backs are more involved with play making and are their position requires greater agility and evasiveness to break defensive lines, avoid tackles and score tries.
In Australia competitive season usually runs from early March to October with one game per week – usually on a weekend. Match start times depending on the level of the athlete and vary between early mornings for junior players to late evening matches at the professional level.
Rugby League matches are played over two 40-minute halves, plus additional injury time separated by a 10-minute break. GPS data from Australian NRL games shows that players cover between ~5-8km per match with backs covering more distance in a match than forwards. Much of this distance is covered with low-intensity activity (walking or jogging) with high-intensity burst and sprints interspersed throughout. Glycogen stores have been shown to reduce by ~40% over a professional competitive rugby league match. Interestingly, research has found that at the elite level, match performance was more dependent on technical performance than match running or physical collisions.
At the amateur level, players typically train 2-4 times per week. At the professional level, players usually training 6 days per week, most often twice per day. Training sessions include strength training, conditioning and fitness work, skill development, tactical preparation and match simulation.
Training diet for rugby league
Many rugby players have large energy, carbohydrate and fluid requirements due to their size and the physical nature of their training. Three meals and regular snacks throughout the day to ensure a high nutritious energy intake that will sustain the body’s requirements for training and competition.
The training diet of a rugby league player should consist of:
Quality wholegrain carbohydrates – cereals, bread, fruit, dairy, quinoa, rice, pasta, potato, legumes etc. These fuel the muscles and help muscle growth.
Protein-rich foods – lean meat, chicken, fish, lamb, kangaroo, dairy products, eggs, legumes, etc. These foods help muscle growth and repair.
Adequate “healthy fats” (unsaturated fats) found in oily fish, avocado, some nuts and olive oil.
Plenty of vegetables and fruit, high in antioxidants and fibre for immune health and gut function.
Minimal alcohol and take-away foods. These lead to poor recovery, can slow recovery from injury and contribute to excess weight gain.
Rugby is a professional career at an elite level, however many amateur players also have work and study to manage around their training and matches. This creates a very busy lifestyle and if good nutrition habits are prioritised this can make a huge difference both on and off the field by aiding with recovery and reducing fatigue.
Hydration needs
The fluid needs of rugby players are generally high due to the ‘stop-start’ style of the game which can result in high sweat rates. Since dehydration negatively affects speed, agility and decision making it is important for players to start all training sessions and matches well hydrated.
Producing clear urine is a useful indicator of good hydration status before exercise. Strategies to improve hydration levels include having fluids with all meals and snacks, carrying a water bottle throughout the day, drinking 200-400ml of fluid soon before the start of training or competition and drinking sufficient fluid to replace sweat losses after training or matches.
What to eat before games
It’s important to start training and games well-fuelled. Each athlete is different and the start time of the match will determine the timing of the pre-game meal, but players will often eat a pre-game meal ~3 to 4 hours before the start. This meal should contain some carbohydrate for fuel as well as some fluids for hydration. A small amount of protein in the pre-game meal is also useful, as it can help to prevent hunger during the game.
Some suitable pre-game meal ideas can include:
Wrap or sandwich with chicken and salad
Bowl of muesli with yoghurt and berries
Pasta with beef mince in tomato-based sauce
Poached eggs with baked beans on toast
Chicken stir-fry with rice or quinoa
Many players will also have a small snack 1-2 hours prior to the game. This should be light, rich in carbohydrate but relatively low in fat and fibre so it is easy to digest. Some suitable pre-game snack ideas include:
Yoghurt with fruit salad
Banana and a handful of almonds
Peanut butter on rice cakes
Toast with vegemite
Players who struggle to eat solid food before a match because of nerves or poor appetite, may find liquid carbohydrates (e.g. fruit smoothie) more appealing.
What to eat and drink during games
Opportunities to eat and drink during matches are limited so players should make the most of any breaks in play (e.g. try conversions, half time, stoppages).
While water is the priority fluid during training and for hydration during the day, and in most matches, sports drinks may be useful during a game for players identified as having high energy requirements or heavy fluid losses as they can deliver some carbohydrates and electrolytes.
Players should work closely with an Accredited Sports Dietitian to trial nutrition strategies during training and matches to find which foods work best for each player.
Post-game recovery
There are three main considerations when it comes to recovery nutrition:
Refuel muscle glycogen (carbohydrate stores)
Repair muscle (for function & development)
Rehydrate (replace fluids lost through sweat)
Recovery meals and snacks should therefore contain a combination of carbohydrate (fuel), protein (for muscle repair and development) and plenty of fluids and electrolytes to replace sweat losses.
A recovery meal or snack should be eaten soon after training or competition, particularly when the next training session or game is the next day. Some recovery food suggestions include:
Ham, avocado and salad sandwich
Dairy-based fruit smoothie
Yoghurt + muesli with nuts and seeds
Burritos with chicken, cheese, avocado and salad
Baked potatoes with minced beef topping
Tofu and vegetable curry with rice

Gun Shooting Tips for Beginners.
Tumblr media
Shooting sports is a collective group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting -  the art of using various types of ranged weapons, mainly referring to human-portable guns (firearms and airguns, in forms such as handguns, rifles and shotguns) and bows/crossbows. If you've never been to a shooting range, it might be confusing, even downright intimidating.
BASIC PRINCIPLES OF SAFE GUN HANDLING.
Many of Range, Guns & Safes' visitors are first-timers, for whom the activity is just a recreational thing.
Importance of learning safe gun handling's four basic principles:
Consider the weapon always to be loaded.
Keep your finger off the trigger.
Point the firearm in the safe direction. In other words, only aim it at the target if you're on the range's firing line, and keep it holstered everywhere else.
Always know what your target is and what's behind it (also referred to as the "backstop").
BRING ALONG AN EXPERIENCED FRIEND
One of the main requirements before learning how to shoot a gun is for first-timers to take a fundamentals course. Importance of attending with at least one experienced shooter - especially if you're going with a larger group. "It's hard to teach four, five, six, seven people about firearm safety, and then keep them safe when they're [on their own]."
TAKE A LARGER VERSION OF A SMALLER PISTOL.
Any first-time shooter should start off with a smaller-sized pistol, such as a .22 caliber, .38 caliber, or a 9mm. However, it shouldn't be too small.
"The biggest misconception is that little guns don't kick," he says. "Little guns actually kick way more than big guns. We always have to go through the spiel of 'Don't get the itty bitty 9mm, because it'll hurt to shoot it. It kicks real hard. Get the medium or the large 9mm, and it'll kick much less.' It's much easier to handle."
DON'T PUT YOUR THUMB ON THE PISTOL SLIDE
When you learn to shoot a gun —specifically semi-automatic weapons— beginners "always put their thumb on the top of the rear of the slide,". The top part of the gun that moves backwards when fired. "They could get injured that way. We caution them to make sure they put their thumbs on top of thumbs instead of the slide."
NEVER WEAR A V-NECK.
One overlooked aspect of gun range etiquette is the attire. Some fashion choices are more obvious: not wearing open-toed shoes, for instance, goes without saying. But visitors should also think twice about donning any kind of V-neck shirt. If they hold the gun loosely, then the round will go backwards and go down their shirt. Kind of embarrassing."
Customize your favorite shooting wears with Colourup Uniforms.
When you’re heading to the range for a practice day or a competition, you might find that you need to follow a shooting range outfits.
As a general rule, you should dress conservatively and comfortably, keeping the temperature and range conditions in mind.
The season will dictate what you put on if you’re heading to an outdoor range, but even if the weather isn’t a factor, here’s a quick run-down on the best gear to wear while you shoot.
Create Your Own Custom Shooting Jerseys, Custom Shooting Singlets, Custom Shooting Polos, Custom Shooting Jackets, Custom Shooting Long Sleeve Jerseys, Custom Shooting Long Sleeve Polos and so on with our Online Kit Builder.
Your shooter jackets are one of the most important components of your range outfit. Whatever jackets you wear to the range, you want to be able to move comfortably and without distraction.

12 Soccer Tricks and the Players Who Invented Them
Tumblr media
Soccer moves help you beat defenders. A good move will put defenders off balance allowing you to dribble past them into open space.
Too many players use soccer moves and tricks to show off, rather than be effective on the field. Doing moves should help you beat defenders quickly – not waste time unnecessarily.
You don’t need to learn tons of moves and tricks to beat defenders. Most great players use a few great moves that they’ve mastered.
Tricks are often used to a player's advantage, helping him get past an opponent in order to further his team's progression up the pitch. They're also used to humiliate the opposition or for sheer entertainment purposes.
The Cruyff Turn: Johan Cruyff
The Cruyff turn is one of the most famous and one of the most evasive tricks in football.
Though the Dutch hero undoubtedly performed it countless times beforehand, it was first witnessed by the masses during the 1974 World Cup in Germany.
Cruyff, one of the most talented players the game has ever seen, faked to pass the ball before dragging the ball in the opposite direction and heading into the penalty area-leaving the Swedish defender utterly baffled.
The Okocha Turn: Jay-Jay Okocha
Augustine "Jay-Jay" Okocha—the man so good, they named him twice—was one of the best tricksters the Premier League has ever seen.
The Nigerian had a number of evasive moves in his arsenal to out-manoeuvre the opposition, but his most famed trick was dubbed "the Okocha turn."
Rolling the ball one way with the studs of one boot, Okocha would then fake with his other foot to take the ball in the opposite direction but would instead step over the ball and carry on in the same way—often leaving the defender wrong-footed.
The Ronaldo Chop: Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is full of skills and tricks and is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to ever grace the game—his recent exploits in Portugal's astonishing 3-2 win over Sweden, in which he scored a hat-trick, are proof of that.
One of Ronaldo's favourite and most successful tricks is "the Ronaldo chop."
When facing a player from the opposition, the Real Madrid man often attacks him at pace, using the inside of either foot to move the ball inside the standing leg and at such an angle that it takes him in a different direction.
The Marseille Roulette: Diego Maradona
Also known as "the 360" and "the Gringo," this move was made famous by Diego Maradona.
Whilst running at the opposition, "the Marseille roulette" is executed by using one foot to stand on the ball, spinning over it in order to shield it away from the opponent and then using the other foot to drag it away from him.
The Panenka: Antonin Panenka
One of the most cocky or most skillful ways of beating a goalkeeper from the penalty spot, "the Panenka" sees a player nonchalantly chip the ball down the centre of the goal whilst the goalkeeper dives either one way or the other. As reported on FIFA's official website, "the Panenka" first came about in the final of the 1976 European Championships.
Antonin Panenka stepped up with a chance to score the winning penalty for Czechoslovakia against Germany. Facing German custodian Sepp Maier, Panenka simply lofted the ball down the centre of the goal and past the keeper.
The Aurelio: Rodrigo Taddei
Performed on a regular basis by Rodrigo Taddei, "the Aurelio" is one of the more difficult tricks to master. Stepping over the ball with the non-kicking foot, Taddei then uses his favoured right foot to drag the ball around the outside of his left—fooling the opposition to thinking he is going one way—before whipping it on in front of him and back on to his right side.
The Step-Over: Law Adam
One of the most simple yet effective tricks in football, "the step-over" can create a player space to pass, cross or shoot if done correctly.
Many, many players have used it throughout the history of football—Chris Waddle, Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo to name a few—but it is believed that Dutch footballer Law Adam was the first to perfect the trick.
The Trivela: Ricardo Quaresma
"The Trivela" is a very effective way to play a pass or a shot when a player has been forced on to his weaker foot. Portugal's Ricardo Quaresma is an expert at "the Trivela." Having been turned onto his weaker left side, rather than using his unfavoured foot, Quaresma often uses the outside of his right foot—and to great effect.
The Back-Heel: Juan Carlos Lorenzo
"The back-heel" is one of the more simple tricks in football, but if used correctly, it can be one of the best. Simply put, when wanting to play a pass or a shot in the opposite direction from where a player is facing, "the back-heel" is the most effect method of doing just that. It is believed that Real Madrid forward Alfredo di Stefano was one of the first to execute it, after notching one of his four goals in a match against Atletico Madrid back in 1955.
The Flip-Flap: Rivelino
Also known as “the akka” or “the elastico,” Brazilian Rivelino first executed the trick during the 1970 World Cup. Often done using the player's stronger foot, the ball is moved one way—as if meaning to go past the opposition in that direction—before being whipped back, using the inside of the foot.
Ronaldinho perfected it after bursting onto the scene, and it has since been used by countless other players.
The Mule Kick: Gianfranco Zola
Fortunately, England Under-21 striker Ravel Morrison scored a goal using this trick in training recently, and it has since been dubbed "the mule kick."
Though it is sheer improvisation that forces a player to kick the ball in such a way, many players have used in throughout the history of the game, but the most famous is surely Gianfranco Zola's effort against Norwich.
The Dive: Jurgen Klinsmann
The most hated trick of them all, "the dive" has been around for years and is now adopted by many, many footballers in order to con the referee into awarding a free-kick. Though many players will have performed this trick beforehand, it first reared its ugly head properly when German international Jurgen Klinsmann took a dive during the 1990 World Cup.
So much was said about Klinsmann's dive that he adopted it as his celebration whilst playing for Tottenham in the Premier League. Love it or hate it, "the dive" is one of the most popular tricks around and, when executed properly, can be one of the more effective methods of defeating an opponent.

Learn Dance at Home in Australia.
Tumblr media
When most people think of Australia, they automatically think of the term “down under.” Well down under there are a broad variety of dance styles coming from Australia.
The dances range from indigenous Australian bush dances to ballet, ballroom, contemporary and multi–cultural dances. There are over 200 national backgrounds represented in Australia.
Learning how to dance from your home is a great way to get some exercise and learn some cool moves all at once! Choose a style of dance that you want to focus on first and make sure that you warm up and cool down during every session.
Learn dance moves and routines through watching videos and watching yourself in the mirror to see where you can make improvements. You can also learn to dance freestyle. Once you feel confident, put on your dancing shoes and enjoy yourself on the dance floor!
Practicing Dance Moves and Routines
Choose dance videos to follow along to learn the moves and routines.
Use a search engine or the YouTube search bar to find instructional videos for your chosen style of dance. Pick 1-2 videos that are designed for beginners and that seem easy to follow.
Try to stay away from the instructional videos that are geared towards more advanced dancers until you practice more and feel more confident in your ability.
If you don’t enjoy a particular video, simply try out a different one. You may look through a few videos before you find one that is a good fit.
You can also rent or purchase dance DVDs.
Mirror the movements of the instructor in the dance video.
Face the dance instructor in the video and pretend that you are the mirror image of the instructor’s movements. Watch the instructor at all times and try to keep up with all of the steps.
Learn the dance steps and sequences in order.
It’s likely that the video that you are watching will consist of a few different steps to learn. Practice each of these steps until you feel confident performing them. Then learn the sequence of the steps, paying attention to what step to start with and how to transition to the next one.
Once you have learned the steps, it may still take a bit of practice to learn the order.
Although the instructor may explain the steps and sequence verbally, it’s easiest to learn to dance visually by watching and then following along.
Keep to the rhythm of the music as you are learning.
When learning how to dance, listening to the beat and the rhythm of the music can help you to remember the sequence of the steps. Concentrate on listening to the music and always dance to music rather than without while you are learning a new routine.
If you are struggling to hear the beat in the music, try tapping your foot, clapping your hands, or counting to 8 along with the rhythm.
Practice the dance moves and routines until you feel confident.
Continue following along with instructional dance videos until you can dance without needing to watch the video. Then begin dancing without the guidance of the videos by playing the music and trying to remember the steps on your own. You can always go back and watch the dance videos if you need a quick reminder.
The more that you practice the dance steps and routine, the easier it will get to remember on your own over time.
Dance in front of a mirror to see how you can make improvements.
Pick a space where there is enough room for you to move and place a large mirror in front of you. Practice your dance moves and routines in front of the mirror and look out for any parts that you think you could improve on. Then, practice adjusting your steps slowly and incorporating these into your dance.
Alternatively, you can video yourself dancing. Having a collection of videos of yourself dancing will also let you watch your progress over time.
Go dancing with your family or friends to have fun with your new moves.
Once you feel confident in your dancing ability, it’s time to enjoy yourself and reap the rewards of all of your hours of practice! Invite your family or friends out to a dance class, party, bar, or club. Alternatively, you can invite them over to your home for an informal night of dancing and fun.

How to train for a Rugby Match.
Tumblr media
Introduction
Rugby union is a popular sport around the world, played by male and female players of all ages. Rugby union is a full contact sport involving 15 players on each team, with 7 substitutes on the bench.
The aim of the game is to score more points than the other side and points are scored through tries, conversions, penalty kicks and drop goals.
A match is split into two 40-minute halves, played on a rectangular field, with a referee and two touch judges or assistant referees.
Push yourself as hard as possible in practice.
Rugby requires full body strength. Warming up before practice is the basic rule that should be followed.
Playing rugby is the best way of practice to strengthen your body. This activates you muscles the way they need to activate in a game.
But you won't get the benefits if you're only giving 50% at practice. Rugby practice should be your fitness every day you go, and you should be prepared to give it all each drill to grow stronger.
More you play, the more you practice and the more you practice, the more you strengthen.
Train based on your position.
Each player on the field needs a slightly different toolkit in order to succeed.
Every player should be able to run for at least 90 minutes.
Every player should have good overall muscle mass.
Training to play prop is different from training to play wing.
Though each position has its own needs, in general you can group training schedules by backs and forwards.
Backs should focus on sprint training, being able to run near top speed even towards the ends of games.
Strength training is imperative, but not so much that you lose speed and mobility.
Forwards need to focus on strength and mass.
Bigger people make a bigger impact in the scrum and on rucks, and are harder to take down or get through. More of a forward's time is going to be in the weight room than the a back's.
Build endurance by focusing on interval training.
A rugby game is of sprint, jog, ruck, rest, jog, walk, recover (penalty call!), scrum, etc. While long, 3-5 mile runs are fine for general endurance, rugby players will get more out of interval training.
Intervals are when you alternate short, high-energy sprints with jogging and walking. Some good routines to start with might be:
Sprint the try-line, then jog up the sideline to the other end. Sprint that try-line too, and repeat 5x. Rest and do it once more. Add an extra lap each day you train, or add the half-field or 22-meter lines into the mix.
Run at 80% top speed for 30 seconds, then jog for a minute. Repeat 10 times. As you get better, decrease your jogging time until you are at only 30 seconds.
Run up a set of stairs, then lightly jog done. Rest for 10 seconds at the bottom, then repeat.
Mix in push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and burpees (A push-up followed immediately by a jumping jack) during your jogs. Stop, perform the exercise for 30 seconds, then immediately keep jogging.
Develop a total-body weight lifting program.
Running, tackling, driving, jumping, throwing, diving -- a rugby player needs to be strong enough for almost any physical activity imaginable.
This makes strength training a major part of any serious rugby player's schedule. While you should work with a coach or trainer to develop a routine for you and your position (a scrum-half, after all, should not be as bulky as a prop), there are a few exercises every rugby player should do.
All of these exercises activate multiple muscles, meaning that you can even do them 1-2 per week in season to stay strong.
Squats
Deadlifts
Bench Press
Military Press
Power Clean
Add plyometrics and body-weight exercise to your workouts for explosive speed and power. Plyometrics are bounding, jumping, and other explosive workouts. You usually do them with high-reps, getting your body used to the types of movements it would make in a game. What's more, you can often do these workouts without the aid of a gym. Focus on doing enough reps so that the last 5 of every set are difficult -- this is when you make the most gains.
Try bounding, which is when you "run" 30 meters while keeping yourself in the air (both feet off the ground) for as much time as possible.
Box jumps
Pull-ups
Chin-up
Push-ups.
Core exercises.
Use planks and body holds to strengthen your core.
Your core is where you transfer energy from your top half to your bottom, and this sort of power is essential to turn the drive of your legs into a successful tackle with your arms. Try out:
Planks.
Abdominal holds.
Cross train with other sports to build total body muscle.
The English National Rugby Team has wrestling and judo coaches on staff, as the sport helps safely develop the grappling strength needed in mauls, rucks and tackles. Try out:
Swimming sports, like water polo. Swimming uses your whole body with minimal pressure on your joints.
Biking and running. They are essential for total endurance, and hill-sprints build valuable butt and quad muscles needed to drive back opponents.
Rock climbing. Scrambling effectively up a wall requires coordination, fine motor control, and serious leg and forearm strength that will make you more effective on runs and tackles.

Dart game basic guide for beginners.
Tumblr media
Dart is a fun game for all skill levels. The game uses all the numbers on the board, which makes it especially good for beginners.
It is a sport in which small missiles are thrown at a circular target ("dartboard") fixed to a wall. Though various boards and rules have been used in the past, the term "darts" usually now refers to a standardised game involving a specific board design and set of rules.
5 feet 8 inches is the standard height from the floor to the bullseye on the dartboard, while the distance between the front of the board and the toe line should measure 7 feet 9.25inches.
A player must hit the numbers from 1 to 20, in sequence before your opponent. Hitting double and triples counts but just a single score. A perfect turn would advance you three numbers.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO PLAY DARTS
A good dartboard
Set of three darts, either soft or steel tip
Safe, well lit place to play
Rubber Dart Mat ( Not Essential )
Dart game rules.
These first five points are common to most dart games.
Each and every player takes a turn in rotation, by throwing three darts.
At first each player throws one dart at the bullseye to decide who will start. The one closest begins the game or else if you prefer, a coin toss may be used.
Each dart thrown counts against the player’s overall three turns. But any dart that misses, bounces off or falls from the board earns no score.
If a dart sticks in another dart, it counts as a throw but it do not get any score.
The score earned by any dart that sticks in the target is based on the point of entry within the wire divisions and not the colour.
301 Game.
A player must hit a "double" before any score is counted. By subtracting from 301 the count of each dart s player's score is being determined.
The small inner ring counts triple the designated score and the outer ring counts double.
To win the game, a player must reduce his score exactly to zero and the last dart must be a double.
For example, if you need 45 to finish you could do it with a single 13 and a double 16.
When a player scores more than the exact score needed, his turn of three darts will not be counted. For example, if a player score remains ~ as it was before that turn. That means if 15 is required and the player scores 16, his score remains at 15. Also note that if the player hits a single 15, that turn does not count; his score remains at 15. And if 14 is hit, then the throw does not count because you cannot go out on a single 1.
501 Game.
In a game of 501 the object is for one player or a team to be the first to reach zero from starting total of 501.
In other terms, after three darts are thrown, the throwing player subtracts the total scored from his current total until he reaches zero.
Except that the "double" is not required to begin scoring, "501" is played the same as "301".
For team play, the score may be increased to 601, 701 or higher, depending on the number of players. 501 is the game used for most tournament or championship matches.
Scoring.
The standard dartboard is divided into 20 numbered sections, scoring from 1 to 20 points, by wires running from the small central circle to the outer circular wire. Circular wires within the outer wire subdivide each section into single, double and triple areas.
Various games can be played (and still are played informally) using the standard dartboard. However, in the official game, any dart landing inside the outer wire scores as follows:
Hitting one of the large portions of each of the numbered sections, traditionally alternately coloured black and white, scores the points value of that section.
Hitting the thin inner portions of these sections, roughly halfway between the outer wire and the central circle coloured red or green, scores triple the points value of that section.
Hitting the thin outer portions of these sections, again coloured red or green, scores double the points value of that section. The double-20 is often referred to as double-top, reflecting the 20's position on the dartboard.
The central circle is divided into a green outer ring worth 25 points (known as "outer", "outer bull", or "single bull") and a red or black inner circle (usually known as "bull", "inner bull" or "double bull"), worth 50 points. The term "bullseye" can mean either the whole central part of the board or just the inner red/black section. The term "bull's ring" usually means just the green outer ring. The inner bull counts as a double when doubling in or out.
Hitting outside the outer wire scores nothing.
A dart only scores if its point is embedded in or is touching the playing surface. This rule applies to any dart that lands in such a way as to be partially or totally supported by others that have already hit the board.
When a standard board is used, any dart whose point does not remain in contact with the playing surface until being collected by the player does not score. This includes darts that bounce off the board for any reason, that fall off on their own, or that are dislodged by the impact of later throws. However, when an electronic board is used, fallen/dislodged darts do score as long as their impacts have registered on the board first.
The highest score possible with three darts is 180, commonly known as a "ton 80" (100 points is called a ton), obtained when all three darts land in the triple 20.
Game Winning.
In order to reach zero each player must finish by throwing a double, that is if a player one has 34 remaining he must hit double 17 to win, while if player two has 43 remaining he must hit single 3, double 20 to win - or a another combination of scores provided the final dart scores on a double.
Some versions of the game require a 'double start' whereby players must begin the game with a double as well as 'checking out' on a double.
A uniform promotes unity and can motivate players to work together and bond.
In sports, choosing a unique team uniform design, which makes your team look slick polished, radiating confident energy towards opponents and to each other.

Different types of Business Attire in Australia.
Tumblr media
The term “business attire” can mean anything from a full suit to jeans and a t-shirt in this modern workspace. However, if you want to fit in and be respected, it’s important to adhere to the business dress code at your workplace, whether it be formal business attire, smart business attire, or casual.
You don’t need a written dress code to get a good sense of what’s appropriate at your workplace. Start by looking at employees in similar positions as you, or your boss, to see what they wear on a daily basis.
Also, remember that the dress code may be dictated by what you’ll be doing on a particular day. If you’re in meeting with a client or attending a special event, you’ll probably want to adhere to a more formal business attire dress code. You’ll also want to pay particular impression to dress code if you’re interviewing for a job. After all, first impressions count!
If your workplace does have a specific dress code, here’s a visual rundown of what different types of business attire look like.
Australian workplace dress codes
For the survey, dress codes were defined as:
Formal business (e.g. business suit and tie for men; business suit or business style dress for women)
Smart casual (e.g. sports jacket with chinos or nice jeans for men; nice slacks, skirt or dark jeans with a collared or dressy top for women)
Business casual (e.g. pressed khakis or chinos with a polo or collared shirt for men; dress pants with a fashionable top for women)
Casual / Informal (e.g. t-shirt and jeans)
Uniform
Other
In Australia, the most common workplace dress code is the uniform (26%). This isn’t entirely surprising given that the industries where uniforms are most commonly worn, trades and services, retail, hospitality, healthcare and medical and sales, account for the largest proportion of Australia’s work force.
Smart casual attire was the second most common at 25%, smart and business casual at 16%, casual / informal clothing at 16% and formal business attire at 11%.
Traditional Business Attire.
Formal business attire for men
Men in a formal workplace are typically expected to wear a dark- or neutral-coloured suit with a tie and dress shoes:
Dark or neutral-coloured plain suit or pinstripe suit
White or light-coloured collared shirt
Conservative tie
Cufflinks
Leather belt
Dress shoes and plain socks
Formal business attire for women
Women’s formal business attire usually involves wearing a conservative suit with a plain collared shirt or blouse and smart shoes:
Dark or neutral-coloured suit
White or light-coloured collared shirt or blouse
Skirt at knee length or pants
Stockings or tights
Black or neutral-coloured closed-toe smart shoes
Smart Casual Business Attire.
Smart casual business attire for men
Smart casual business attire is slightly less formal, but still requires men to look professionally presentable and wear well-tailored clothing like button-down collared shirts and a blazer or jacket:
Smart jacket or blazer
Button down shirt in plain colours or patterns (no tie required)
Trousers or chinos (don’t have to be the same colour as the jacket)
Brogues or oxfords
Smart casual business attire for women
When it comes to smart casual business attire, women should look neat and presentable but can also wear brighter colours and bolder clothing:
Coloured or patterned blouse
Bolder jewellery
Cardigan or casual blazer
Neat pants or skirt in different colour combinations
Dress at knee length
Closed or open-toe smart shoes
Business Casual Attire.
Casual business attire for men
Although you might think a casual dress code gives you free reign to show up to work wearing your favourite hoodie and sweatpants, it’s still important to look professional with neat jeans and clean shirts or jumpers:
Neat t-shirt, casual collared shirt or jumper
Dark denim, chinos or tailored shorts
Tasteful sneakers or loafers
Casual business attire for women
As is the case for men, women should keep professional clothing clean and neat – even if it is a casual workplace. Stick to tidy t-shirts, jumpers or blouses and dark denim or a well-fitted dress:
Neat t-shirt, jumper or blouse
Dark denim jeans, mid-length skirt or shorts
Tasteful sneakers or sandals
The right fit
Most people surveyed said their current workplace had their ‘ideal’ dress code, with smart casual at 26%, followed closely by uniform (23%) and then business casual (19%).
Smart casual was the most often chosen as the ‘ideal’ dress code by people surveyed. Of those whose current dress code was formal business attire, 20% said they would prefer to dress smart casual and 18% of those who dressed casually would also prefer to ‘dress up’ to smart casual.
Just over one in three people (36%) believe that the current dress code at their place of work doesn’t allow them to dress in a way that represents their personality/personal style, this can largely be attributed to the significant number of people who wear a uniform to work.
Not surprisingly, workers with a casual dress code felt that they had the most flexibility to dress in their own personal style.
When it comes to dress codes, 58% of people believed a company should provide guidance on what to wear at work to provide a united company image and for safety reasons, particularly in jobs where uniforms are worn.
Career progression and motivation
Only one in four people surveyed (26%) believed what they wear to work could impact their career progression and whether or not they get promoted. Most people said they believed it was important to present yourself in a professional manner and gain ‘respect’ in the workplace to improve career progression.
A total of 41% of people believed some people in their workplace don’t dress appropriately – either  ‘too provocative’ or ‘too daggy’.
One in three people (34%) said they feel judged based on what they wear to work, and this feeling is significantly higher among 18-34 year olds at 44%. A significant number (29%) of 18 - 34 years olds said they felt pressured to keep up with the latest ‘fashion trends’, compared to just 19% of all people surveyed.
Just under one in three people (31%) also felt that what they wore to work impacted how motivated they were and how they performed at work. This view was most common in smart casual workplaces, while 80% of people with a casual dress code believed what they wore didn’t impact motivation.
Despite perception on how it can impact motivation and career progression, more than half (54%) of people surveyed said dress code didn’t impact their decision to choose a place of work at all. Only 39% said dress code had either some impact or a small impact on their decision.
