Salt & Pepper chicken. Duck pancakes. Satay chicken. Prawn crackers. An insane quantity of spring rolls for @rutherinahobbit

I’ve become very fond of 🫡, but the one I use most often is probably 🥺 - it’s literally my face. I look at Ruth like that and say ‘I am the emoticon’ and then she has to be nice to me… 🥺

Would you rather have a library, greenhouse, or home theater in your house?

Library. For the aesthetic and the comfy comfy reading nooks! Also I would be able to have all my favourite fic bound and displayed in the library <3 <3 <3

What was your tumblr like when you first joined?

I had it for longer, but I first started really using it for Shadowhunters, and 90% of the fandom was here, before it largely moved to Twitter, and now has been struggling to move back, so has sort of become a bit homeless 🥺

What clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself?

Anything neat and tailored. I think it looks fly AF, but I have neither the body type nor the patience for it.

If you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best?

Stars Hallow is really good shout I’ve seen other people use. Also any fictional TV show that basically takes place in a home, only. I’d be all over that! haha

What is your favorite piece of art? 

I’ve been obsessed with ‘Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening’ ever since I was about 10 years old.

Do you have a water bottle? what does it look like?

I recently broke my water bottle so I’ve got a temporary replacement one and I hate it. It’s boring and too big and not the right shape. Grr.

What fanfic trope is a quiet fave?

I’m pretty loud about all my fic feelings. Sometimes I unexpectedly enjoy a Mafia/Crime AU, though I would never go looking for it!

Do you carry a daily bag? what does it look like? what's the weirdest thing in it?

I’ve got three. A tote bag for when I bring lunch Tupperwares into work or otherwise have to transport big things. A large backpack for when I bring my laptop into work or travel. And a tiiiiiiiny backpack (smaller than A5) and the weirdest thing is how much stuff I manage to fit into it! First Aid Kit. Sewing Kit. Wallet. Phone. Portable Phone Charger. Sunglasses. Tissues. Cigarettes. House keys. Pill box. Misc. hair things for when other people need them.

If you had to ship Mickey with another Gallagher, who would it be?

Carl. Ultimate chaos couple!!!! 🙌

What is a fanfic trope you didn't expect to like and then very much did?

We all know the old adage: You're only ever one good fic away from developing that weird kink you keep making jokes about, stay humble.

There’s nothing that hits quite the way an unexpected horny swoop hits! Stay humble. Stay open. Stay curious.

this is hard!!! i work in a few different styles and so i have a favorite for each type of way i work i guess. which i think makes perfect sense. but uuhhmm ...i guess one of those favorites is still smokey mickey. its getting warm out and i hate it. i need the wintery ntw vibes back please (im not a summer person🥲)

i was gonna say usually but then thinking about each thing i've drawn in the last year....uhm actually... i tend to have a plan but that plan often changes a least a little bit before im satisfied. the sbb verona grand artwork though i had NO clue it was gonna be red and green. that was a weird one as the whole color scheme fell into place after i had drawn pretty much the whole composition.

If I've heard of it before: oh yes, i actually watched the first 2 or 3 episodes when it first aired on the CW back when i was maybe a sophomore in high school? i didn't stick with it but i had friends that did and they were INVESTED

If I would watch it: i feel like i might like it! my wife started watching it a couple months back and abandoned it but only because one of their cooking shows came back on the air, lmao!

If I know any of the actors: i know of nina dobrev from a few of her smaller more random roles and also because she's beautiful, and i know that ian guy is married to nikki reed from thirteen & twilight. otherwise i don't think i know anyone else from anything!

Some of the cd covers and a bunch of posters I used my uni's printers to make (it was for a school project!!) I miss having access to that print service, it was Great. I've lost two of the records on the way, which is disappointing, one had a really cool overlay slipcase and the None The Wiser album design only really works as a physical object so I'm a little bummed that I can't find them.

Here are some label & band merch. I actually printed two Canary Records mugs and I used one in the studio until it was stolen, presumably by some poor student in need of caffeine. I later donated the other to a charity shop, may them both live long and confuse many.

Also, Michelle... I did once pay a fiver musician to record that song for me and I will never share it with anyone because it did NOT sound like whatever it nebulously sounds like in my own head and I nearly ruined the whole song for myself, sometimes I GO TOO FAR!!

What's your least favourite Shameless plotline and what would you do to make it better?

im bad at committing to any one thing being my most or my least anything. so i dont have ONE least favorite plotline but one that i dislike very much and feel like could be totally cut out of the show with very little (if any) consequence, i would say Kev’s Bart from Kentucky thing.

If they were gonna do a Kev discovers who his biological family is storyline i think literally anything and anyone else would have been better.

every single aspect of that family was something not funny trying to be overplayed for big laughs and absolutely none of it was even remotely entertaining in any way.

if they wanted to do something better then maybe make the whole thing a little bit more serious and grounded. still could have had funny or outlandish elements. but those things have more impact and tend to be funnier when the rest is more serious and grounded, you know?

Chapter 1: Grounds for Harassment

Mickey knows he’s a piece of shit. It’s easy to forget sometimes, like how piss in the carpet stops stinking after it’s settled, but every now and then he’ll think something so awful that he remembers, Oh, yeah. Piece of shit.

That happens when Mandy says Ian Gallagher messed with her (and not in the good way). Because Mickey’s first thought is that Mandy is lying, and his second is thank fuck.

Getting to hunt down Ian is the best thing that’s happened to Mickey in months.

“What he do to you, exactly?”

“I’m not giving you the gross details!” Mandy shouts.

She leans against the front door, blocking the handle, as if he’s stupid enough to go inside the house.

He’s been locked out for a week. A whole fucking week of stealing food from corner stores, taking a leak behind buildings, and sleeping in icy alleys. He can’t even remember what he did to set Ronnie off this time, but his uncle must still be angry if Mandy won’t let him in on the sly.

Mickey sniffs back snot, then spits on the porch. He hopes he’s not getting a goddamn cold. “Will you at least let me in after I beat the shit out of Ian?”

Mandy tugs on a lock of her hair. “If Uncle Ronnie will let me.”

“That’s some award-winning gratitude right there.”

“You got to know that I want to let you in,” Mandy whines. “But if I do he’ll kick me out with you and—”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m not a moron.” Mickey adjusts his coat and scratches his cheek, moving dirt from his skin to under his fingernails. “Guess I’ll just keep smelling like a pig sty.”

He’ll probably knock Ian back with his stench, won’t even have to hit him.

“If it makes you feel any better, the water’s turned off, so you couldn’t shower anyway,” Mandy says. “Nobody paid the bill again.”

“You look squeaky fucking clean for a girl who’s got no running water at home.”

Mandy picks at her cuticles. A tell that means shame. “I showered at a friend’s house last night.”

“Ah. That code for ‘fucked a dude in exchange for basic hygiene’?”

Mandy grabs a crumpled beer can off the porch and lobs it at him. Mickey catches it and passes it between his hands. Left, right. Left, right.

“Maybe I should hit up Angie Zhago. Trade a ride on my dick for a bath.”

And a bed. Speckled bruises cover his right side from the cracked pavement and gravel he slept on last night.

“Are you going to beat up Ian or stand here all day with your thumb up your butt?” Mandy asks.

Mickey turns away, shoots his sister the bird over his shoulder, and hurries down the steps.

He could go to the shelter for a shower and a hot meal, but he’d rather stay freezing, filthy, and hungry than deal with a bunch of homeless assholes. Half of them are plain batshit, most would steal his stuff if he doesn’t take it into the shower with him, and plenty are actual rapists (unlike Ian) who’ll think he’s an easy target because he’s young and short.

No shower, no food. Time to find his brothers, or maybe some cousins, and get down to business.

Prison showers are a lot like glorified high school locker rooms. Ian’s only been in prison for a day when he takes his first degrading shower. One of the other guys Ian doesn’t know yet, lets out a whistle.

“Check out the rack!”

A loud laugh erupts. “Ha, my wife would kill me if I tatted her rack!”

“Hey Backtits! Can I borrow ya back for my spank bank?”

Laughter subsides when Ian and Mickey are alone in the cell. “The fuck you got tits for?”

Ian sheepishly shrugs. “Monica’s. Accident.”

“Again, how do you accidentally get a tit tattoo?”
