Recently I started reading "Here U Are" by Djun and I never imagined I'd see one of the characters sing a song of my favourite band, I almost screamed in the dead of night!

The song in question is "Wherever You Are" by One Ok Rock:

I was already in love with this manhua and its story, but now I love it even more thanks to this tiny detail!!

Here U Are by Djun

This goes from chapter 1 to 39 in the weebtoon and even tho i love to have it physically in my library, it has a couple of problems. First, this has a manwha style, wich is normal cause you're not reading it in your phone but it means panels that were big online are kind of small in the book. Also the colors in general are off, the're less bright than the webtoon and certain scenes are way too dark. Second, cersonship! I cant read chinese so I cant compare the dialogues but I did compare panel by panel the book and the webtoon and they edited out so much gay shit. It's a bl! why are you erasing the romance between the main characters wtf.

I dont regret buying it but Im worried about the quality the people who see this in a library without reading it first in webtoon would get, because i love this story and i would hate to see them not like it because it wasnt as good as it could have been.

I always chuckle at those ‘reblog this or you will be cursed’ posts, because why are people making those? On one hand, I assume it’s a desire to get clicks and interactions. And then I also think those creator feed on that energy given through those posts. I see people frantically rb/comments blah blah, here I am, never afraid because you fuel what you believe In & I refuse to believe in others attempt to hurt me in any ways. And of course I’m protected too! A rock is just a rock untill you believe it’s a healing rock. A cross is just a cross untill you believe it is and can protect you. Angels are beings that many don’t believe in but those who do, will tell you of the blessings they’ve been given by them. Your prayers are just words untill you believe your words will come true (if they aren’t already).

We give power to things, and once you believe make sure it’s in what will keep your peace, have you going through life with light and all these cursed posts are nothing but someone’s words trying to win your minds negative-centers. The bad that happens is bad that you fixated on and accepted to be the truth at the end.

Hello hello, here I am with another BL rec list no one asked for 😌 I’ve been reading a lot these days, while I wait for my fandom spark to come back. Most of these manhwas are still ongoing which means I’ve been busy with: alpha x alpha romance! Break up make up! Identity porn! Revenge! Mafia love triangles! It’s all here folks, pick your poison and have fun. If you’re looking for completed works, better start with 4, 8 and 9. I know these lists are a bit niche and not very popular but who knows, maybe I’ll find fellow BL fans who will enjoy these as much as I did!

10. Wet Sand by Doyak (E, ongoing)

A trope I love is when two characters falling in love have actually met before as children. Not as in childhood friendship per se, but as in a brief encounter, a happenstance, a coincidence. Sometimes the characters remember their meeting and sometimes they do not but either way, the encounter was meaningful, emotionally resonant and becomes relevant to their relationship.

Sorry if it seems weird, I try to pick a certain topic but I became confused myself as what should I pick (enemies to lovers, childhood friend, etc)......Also I'm sorry if my fav are not so diverse yet....And thanks again for your BL reviews, it helps me a lot for a newcomer like me....

Welcome back ~ It warms my heart to hear that my reviews are of help ^^ I haven't read some of the series you mentioned, but from the ones I did you seem to enjoy softer BL's that are plot and/or character-driven. I'll add links to my reviews if I have written on them, and apologize beforehand that I rarely buy singular volumes of BL so most of the titles will be from Futekiya (a monthly subscription service that releases BL only, the first chapters of the series in their library are free to read). Let's go!

Here and There and Us (Thanat) and Blue Sky Complex (Ichikawa Kei): Opposites-attract, high school friends who continue to date after graduation, long distance relationship for a while. I haven't read Blanc, have only seen Doukyusei but trope-wise, they sound similar! Both are exceptional works so I think they might be a good fit for you as well.

The Trees in Spring (Nakaoka Naka) and Setagaya Synchronicity (Hongo Chika): Both focus on soul/identity searching, coming to terms with the self. I've written on The Trees in Spring before but can vouch for both.

So to start again:

Species of Davel (specifically intelligent species)

Politans

Humans, us. Politans are the dominant species of the claimed galaxy although not the most populous. Native to New alterni, Known as Erde before they developed space travel, and Polita some time after they had colonised much of the CG*. They are a very tribalistic and individualist species. They are relatively weak but tend to continue functioning after more damage than Taurans. They are very adaptable and have an incredibly high level of stamina due to their persistence hunting past.

Taurans

Taurans are a large bipedal species native to Celia, called Taurus by the first humans to discover the species. Taurans are significantly taller and vastly stronger than Politans. Despite this they are much less violent especially to smaller individuals. This is a part of their highly conformist nature, which allows them to easily settle into most cultures. Taurans have a greater range of hearing than Politans but cannot hear quiet sounds as well. They are also unable to understand music of any kind, though the lyrics will be perfectly understood, a history of excellent poetry has taken the place of music in Tauran cultures.

Kilans

Kilans are a very small six limbed species. They are very territorial and isolationist but otherwise fit well in politan society. Kilans live in groups of at least 10 individuals known as a hive but these hives can be as many as a few thousand, hives can group together into swarms though this is uncommon. hives are made up of one matriarch and the rest being workers and soldiers. A Kilan will always prioritise their own hive over others but will surprisingly prioritise members of other species before those of other hives.

Djun

There is still little known about this species. They live almost entirely on a single ringworld with a population in the quadrillions. As a whole they are incredibly advanced, almost godlike in comparison to humanity but they are also isolationist, prefering to keep to themselves and only interfere when they are threatened.

*CG : Claimed Galaxy, a spherical volume 200ly in diameter encased by an impenetrable barrier, all human activity occurs within this space
