I watched my first k-drama (kind of. it mostly riffs on the genre) - it’s called Dramaworld and it is fun, but it unfortunately succombed to the age old trick of ‘not tieing up loose ends’ with its narrative. Any tv show should know that ending your show on a cliff hanger is not a guarantee sign that you will get picked up for another season.

Also that final twist was a bit shit. I mean I don’t have anything against the whole ‘important side character’ has a face-heel turn / was secretly the villain all along, but the fact that the heel turn happened without the character experiencing any conflicting emotions as to what action they were about to take is a pretty large missed opportunity in my opinion. It would have added more dimension to them and make the audience question the character’s true feelings about their actions.

I don’t hate the show for being deceptive, or deliberately hiding information from the audience (that’s expected to happen in TV shows, and I’m okay with that) - but idk man it just felt like the show wanted to have its cake and eat it too without realising they might not have the opportunity to continue telling its story that it wanted to tell.
