misc six observations:

the pantages is the most gorgeous theater i’ve ever been in (not that i’ve been in many but u know)

it’s also along the walk of fame and kirsten chenoweth’s star is right by the door (lena horne's is just across the street)

they didn’t advertise my show as accessible but it was open-captioned and asl-interpreted (but it looks like both things were only viewable to ppl seated on the left side)

an old couple next to me were trying to figure out which “chopin composition” the pre-show music was? (they’re all piano covers of pop songs) v confused

the “queen bios” in the playbill list aragon’s interests as “religion, sewing, dancing, and a bit more religion”, boleyn’s says she’s remembered for “headlessness”. parr’s talks about her friendship w mary and that her mom was LIW to some previous wives, but makes no mention of the fact that aragon was her godmother(/namesake) or that she married seymour’s brother

the minute greensleeves started playing, people started cheering. it was so fun

khaila was born to play aragon that's all im saying. literally nonstop applause until the dluh intro

storm's boleyn tiptoed that line between "idk what's going on" and "smart and cunning" so so well

cleves did the ponytail-pull instead of seymour? idk if this is a recent change but it has Interesting implications characterization-wise lmao also it was just funny because olivia had to significantly reach up to get to courtney's hair

speaking of which, both nat and cmack's new wigs look a lot fancier than their old ones somehow

im pretty sure nmp actually started crying during hos (which, even though i've heard her sing it a million times, was every bit as beautiful as i thought it would be)

hoh live is an Experience in the best way, they just looked like they were having the best time bouncing around the stage

the audience member picked for get down was so good/confident olivia cheered for her the entire time instead of doing the "this is my song" bit after shfghjkl

get down is already such a lively song but olivia's version amps it up even more like i was in stitches during the intro and the entire audience was fired up by the end

the k-howard roast didnt get as many laughs as it should've :// i felt so bad for courtney because she delivered those lines flawlessly

and then loud and immediate applause after aywd??? L audience tbh

(also interesting note – the asl interpreter didn’t sign for applause after the song like she did for all the others)

natalie's "I DIED" was every bit as amazing as all the audios. also she basically chased khaila offstage while saying that line sdkf

i think gabriela is my new favorite parr im so obsessed w her take on idnyl and her acting (even in the background) is impeccable

there were some obvious mic issues – both cmack and storm were a bit quieter than everyone else and khaila was way louder; all three of them left the stage at various points for unknown reasons (but there wasn't a show stop and i dont think most people noticed someone missing)

this cast's chemistry was i n s a n e like the little interactions and they way they reacted to each other plus the harmonies…10/10 no notes

speaking of which. there was a really sweet moment toward the end of idnyl ("why should i tell that story?") where aragon puts her hand on howard's knee comfortingly

standing ovation after six!!! idk if this is a regular occurrence but they bowed an extra time because of all the clapping lol

except then people started leaving, so courtney had to start the megasix early and you could barely hear her over the audience

but it was ok cuz people stayed on their feet throughout the megasix too and again the girls took a really long time leaving the stage after bc the cheers kept getting louder!!!

tldr i had the BEST time and if the tickets weren’t so expensive id go again and again <3

Okay I've listened to the album and I will never be the same. Please enjoy my rambling under the cut.

• 100% grinned all the way through Ex wives • SO glad we got the reprise I love it • OKay oKAy OKAy oKAY OKAY • Adrianna's riffs *chef’s kiss* • Actually laughed out loud during DLYH • So energetic I love it • The non-existent transition between DLYH and HoS was weird though • God bless Abby Mueller and her angelic voice • ✨truuuthfulyYYyYyyyyYYy✨ • THAT BELT • VELcome to ZHE HAUS to ZHE HAUS OF HOLBEIN JA • Cleves' speech will never not be funny • The operatic bit • Make way for Sam Pauly she's coming and she's coming STRONG • SHE DIDN'T NEED TO GO THAT HARD SERIOUSLY (It's not that intense in the bootleg I really wasn't expecting it) • So. Freaking. Good. • IDNYL made me miss Anna as Parr, she really nailed it • The ENERGY on the remix I love it sooo muuuuch • People clapping along in Six 🥺 • Again the ENERGY on every chorus omg • So glad we have a properly recorded megasix • The guitar riffs in the playout though

As you can see I pretty much loved everything. Now if you excuse me I have to go and listen to this forever.

I saw the third preview of SIX and here are some thoughts

- First of all (unrelated to SIX) I just made a tumblr so I have no idea how formatting works

- Everyone was cheering so loud the second the lights went down.

- I never realized how far downstage they were (I was sitting in the second row) when they walk out; they were so close

- They walked out with such power. The silhouette with the haze, ah, absolutely amazing

- Andrea's hairpiece and Sam's ponytail were SO LONG. I spent most of ex wives mesmerized by their hair. And the vocals. Also the vocals.

- Sam's riff at "the fun's begun" sent chills down my spine

- Andrea winked at someone in the front row

- Britt looked so offended when Sam cut her off

- The choreography was so sharp for No Way. Especially the dance break

- Adrianna just totally milked the applause at the end of No Way, and it was fantastic

- Andrea's facials during the intro to DLYH were fantastic. She had that "What? Moi?" Face, and was totally into what the other girls were saying

- Her laugh was absolutely adorable, and for a brief second, I actually thought she was reading something on her phone that made her laugh. It was so genuine

- She also just looked so confused as to what was happening, and I could see her just put the pieces together and ahhh she's such an amazing actress

- Britt's facial expressions during DLYH were amazing. When Andrea was like "I didn't know I would move in with his missus" Britt had been sort of half paying attention, but at that line she shot up, completely shocked

- Sam and Britt were kinda making fun of/teasing boleyn and my brain couldn't decide whether to watch Dre or watch Sam and Britt's antics, because they were hilarious

- When Andrea was like "He's actually gonna chop my head off!" Britt looked like a scolded child and I was laughing my ass off

- A lot of Andrea's lines were much lower in her voice than they were before. I liked it, I just hope that the change isn't because of people making fun of her voice or calling her immature.

- The dick joke was much faster than before, just a very quick gesture with the mic

-Her "I'm not sorry" and ending riffs were SO GOOD AND I AM DECEASED

- I wish I could remember specifics as far as Jane's monologue goes, but I do remember there were some delivery changes, and I loved it

- Abby added some more riffs and did this light falsetto on "high" during HOS and I died

- I couldn't see the actual tears, but I saw her wiping her face when she finished. IDK how she sings that well while crying. Her voice didn't even really crack, it was still so strong and I have no idea how she does it

- HOH was so incredibly chaotic and I couldn't stop laughing the entire song

- I don't remember exactly when but I'm pretty sure Anna waved at me at one point (or someone near me, lets be honest)

- Britt had so much energy during Get Down that she almost kicked Adrianna in the face (and Dri didn't even react)

- She told this young girl in the front row to get up and dance. I think she was a bit shy, but Britt and the others were so encouraging and when she sat back down, instead of saying "get down" Britt was like "SHE'S SO CUTE"

- The costume reveal was so good, and Britt just had this expression like, "yeah I know I'm hot" and was just basking in the applause and cheering. Same with the applause at the end, she was just LIVING for it

- Sam didn't pet Dri's cheek during the K Howard roast, she just kinda stood there.

- I don't think she wrapped her arm around Dre either

- She did put her arm around Abby, and her "when will justice be SERVED" was so funny

- I never noticed before but Britt just kinda stares at Sam's arm/chest so neither of them break (I knew britt and Sam couldnt look each other directly in the eyes, but I never realized Britt was looking at her arm/chest)

- The pacing of the last few lines "I'm really hot...oh wait like this" was a lot faster and it took me a minute to get the jokes. And I've seen many slime tutorials of the show, so I already know the jokes.

- AYWD felt more serious from the beginning. It didn't feel as flirty or playful.

- Oh my god Sam's vocals just destroyed me.

- I've seen this before in slime tutorials, but seeing in person just emphasized the sinister expressions that the other girls have. Especially since they're in dark, mostly cool lighting, and they're looking up at her with zero trace of a smile. It was so creepy (in a good way)

- During the 3rd verse when the girls start closing in on her, Sam looked so nervous and uncomfortable and I just wanted to give her a hug

- Her riff on "different" was so fucking good and hearing it in person was even better than the videos. Her voice had so much power and so much emotion

- They're playing around with the ending of AYWD to try to get the audience not to clap, and when Sam threw her head back with that loud gasp instead of just letting her head fall back while she's sobbing, all I could think was "ouch, that looks painful"

- Sam was fighting so hard to stay in character during the applause. Because her next line is "and then I was beheaded" so she can't really bask in it or react to it the same way that Britt did, for instance.

- She changed the inflection on that line, so it was "and THEN I was beheaded" and I laughed so fucking hard at the way she said it so seriously.

- Andrea sounded so genuine when she was like "i don't want it to be weird between us" and then she finished the line in the same tone and it was even funnier than before

- Britt jumped like a foot in the air when Abby was like "oh boo hoo" and she was screaming so loud, Adrianna looked terrified, and everyone else looked a mix of bewildered, concerned, and startled

- I was nervous Adrianna was gonna back into the side of the stage for a hot sec lol, that's how fast they were moving. And Abby's pose at the end of "I DIED" just about killed me.

- Andrea's "hahahhaha what" was so fucking hilarious, and the way the band just teetered out and the queens looked completely lost was just golden

- During the argument about cathy not singing sam was just like "WOOOOOOOOW wow wow wow wow" and I was dying

- Everyone looked so skeptical about cathy telling them to sit down before her monologue

- ANNA'S RIFFS HOLY SHIT. She added some new ones and oh my god I am deceased

- The other girls were hyping Anna up so much during IDNYL and it was so fucking amazing to watch

- Adrianna and Andrea stayed holding hands instead of putting their arms around each other and it was so damn cute

- ANDREA FUCKING MACASAET FUCKING SMILED AT ME THROUGH MOST OF SIX AND I DIED. I thought she was looking at someone else at first, and I'm 95% sure she could clock the exact second I realized she was looking directly at *me* because I promptly started freaking out. I also was so mesmerized by this angel smiling at me that I missed the rest of the song lol

- Sam's "do you wanna hear one more song?" was so fucking cute

- I did get a video of the megasix but I'd get distracted by the singing and forget to turn the camera lol

Joan playing Jane

Poor girl was just trying to enjoy her yogurt when the decision was made for her to go on as Jane because Jane started puking everywhere or something and there was not a single alt or swing

She knew all the lines, but her dancing was a bit off, so fifty minutes of the hour before the show was spent quickly learning the dances and then she had to get ready in ten minutes

Someone had the bright idea to put her in Jane’s costume

It doesn’t fit very well so pins had to be used

Katherine: I don’t her touching me during All You Wanna Do

Joan: I don’t want to touch your crusty ass either

Literally in the middle of an anxiety attack as the curtain rises

She keeps telling herself, “You are Jane Seymour, you are Jane Seymour, you are Jane Seymour”

Anne and Cleves are both amused and concerned

“Divorced. Beheaded. D-died. Divorced...? Beheaded. Survived.”

Her voice cracked on her very first line and she was just about ready to swallow her microphone whole and choke on it

Cleves was like 👀

Anyway she nails Ex-Wives otherwise

She has the “I died” expression down perfectly

However, everyone quickly realizes that she cannot dance that well in heels

She probably has permanent marks engraved in her skin from how many times to bit her lip to keep back a cry/whine/yelp of pain every time her ankle buckles to the side

Her ankles are swollen by the end of the performance

During the first little introduction bit after Ex-Wives, her hand is still doing the conducting movements at her side (she tried to stop, but muscle memory won’t let her)

She’s always subtly trying to lift the dress up but it’s obvious everyone sees her adjusting it

She takes a small tumble during DLUH but it’s okay she’s okay she’s got it

As she walks up to center stage to sings HoS, she accidentally mutters, “Shit that is bright” and squints into the spotlight

Okay but she goes HARD in HoS

She isn’t fucking around!

Lol she cries

She’s EMOTIONAL OKAY

Lol probably switches some lyrics around

👀

Like, “Soon, she’ll have to go”

“She’ll never see me grow”

“But I hope her son will know, that he’ll never be alone”

She’s like actually bawling by the end of it

And the audience is like :0

They dig it, tho

Goes hard during HoH because she’s always wanted to dance and sing to it

Even if she jacks up her ankles

During Get Down the pins start to come undone and her dress starts to slip and Aragon notices to Aragon dances over to her and fixes it for her

Joan screaming the “boohoo” line? ICONIC

Katherine: And Jane. Dying of natural causes. When will justice be served?!

Joan, mouthing: aNd JaNe DyInG oF nAtUrAl CaUsES. wHeN wIlL JuStIcE bE sErVeD?!

AYWD goes fine even though she half expected Katherine to sucker punch her in the jaw

During Six she takes off her heels and dances bare foot because Fuck Those Shoes

Doesn’t know how to freestyle dance so she’s just doing the hokey pokey during the MegaSix

Then the dress falls off

A week later she’s asked to go on as Anne

I saw six on broadway and died and yee

This is the most ranty post I’ve ever made, keep reading this mess of a post if u want but I’ve warned u 😂

Almost all of these lil bullet point thingys include Abby and I’m sorry (not sorry😉)

- before I start talking abt the show itself TOBY AND LUCY WERE SITTING TWO ROWS IN FRONT OF ME! Toby was talking to someone but I was able to get Lucy’s attention for a bit and she was so sweet🥺

- The way they walk out when they start was sTUNNING and I’ll admit I started crying during ex wives

- ex wives was amazing!!!

- Everyone says this but harmonies were just 🥺

- Every time Abby said a line I died, and seymour has so many more lines that I thought and I love it🥺

- Also I never realized how much dialogue seymour has but I fucking love it

- My mouth hurt walking out of the theatre from literally smiling for the entire time

- Also smiling widely with tears running down ur face is a mood lemme just say that 😂

- for anyone who doesn’t like the new costumes I just wanna say I legit didn’t realize they were different cuz I was so entranced in the show

- the Boleyn skirt is a lil stiffer but its still super bouncy whenever Andrea moves and I love it

- Also the costumes are so shiny, and Abbys still had a rainbow hue in the lights which was BEAUTIFUL I LOVE HER

- OK ADRIANNAS NO WAY WAS AMAZING! No way is the song I’ve listened to the least and THAT HAS TO CHANGE

- The “down on my knees” part was amazing

- the audience didn’t rly laugh at the “daughters are so easy to forget” line which i was a lil bummed out about cuz I love that line

- Andrea is adorable and I love her but we all knew that already

- Y’all I’m just gonna repeat this ANDREA IS THE PERFECT BOLEYN I LOVE HER SO MUCH

- I love the whole Anne Boleyn entrance song thingy

- HELLO ANDREAS VOCALS AT THE END OF DLUH 🥺🥺

- They changed the word mate to a ton of other things like “bro” and I was kinda living for it

- Wearing yellow to a funeral is my new favorite song

- the whole Seymour monologue was🥺

- OH MY GOD HEART OF STONE

- ABBY COMMANDED THAT FRIGGIN STAGE EVEN THO ALL SHE DID WAS STAND AND SING

- The “truthfully” she sounded like an actual angel, like she switched into a super airy part of her upper register to sing it and it was aNGELIC

- The energy of her nearly crying and like friggin belting and all the queens singing behind her kills me

- The friend I went with said that Abbys earpiece fell of and she had to put it back right before hos but I was legit watching her singing so intensely(?) that I didn’t even notice sooo 😂

- HAUS OF HOLBEIN WAS NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH

- Abby did like a robot dance and ugh my heart

- also Sam just flailed her arms and it reminded me of what Izzy did during the song you happened in the prom (hi I miss the prom)

- I forgot that Britt does the lil opera thing in get down and IT KILLED ME!

- also her energy in get down was AMAZING 😂

- I died when she took her jacket off 😂

- I love when Howard roasts them all

- After the “when will justice be served” line Sam did this little like “arghh” and threw up her hands and I loved it

- AYWD I FUCKIBG CRIED AGAIN

- the choreography throughout the whole show but in aywd in particular was like SO GOOD

- ok I stan Anna shes a goddess

- During idnyl I was looking at all the other queens dancing and Abby and Andrea just like smiled at each other and it killed me

- ANNAS RIFFS HELLO I LOVE HER

- At one harmony bit it sounded amazing and I saw Lucy just like nodding her head like “yea I wrote that” and I loved it

- the dialogue leading into six (the song😂) was amazing

- During megasix I couldn’t see anything cuz everyone was standing and TOBY IS REALLY TALL BUT LIKE, ITS FRIGGIN TOBY MARLOW I DONT CARE HOW BLOCKED MY VIEW IS

- None of the queens stagedoored, probably cuz there’s another show tonight, but I already met a couple of them and I’ll definitely be back so I didn’t really mind 😂

- also very random but, in penn station there was some dude singing and looking for tips and whatever and he sang WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW AND I HAD JUST LISTENED TO ABBY SINGING IT EARLIER TODAY SO THAT JUST MADE MY DAY HAVING THAT HAPPEN
