Hawke

He’s one that prefers talking rather than swinging a weapon, unless the other part is eager to fight. In that case, he becomes the bearer of chaos and, damn, he enjoys it! Before reaching Kirkwall, his studies were focused on Entropy and he really was talented at it, but after Bethany died his attention shifted towards Elemental Magic - and Force Magic later. It was his way to cope with the loss while honoring her favorite family member. Preferred weapons are his fists (putting some rings on them because a broken nose is a happy nose <3) and a magical staff (Hawke’s Key).

Master strategist. Analyzing, visualizing, gaslighting, girlbossing her way through a fight. Wherever she can’t go, wait for traps and bombs to appear in her place. She strongly believes in second chances and hates the concept of punishment with her whole heart, consequently she’s prone to listening before opening fire (unless you attack first, you’re a menace for her clan/unarmed civilians, or a wild beast endangering villages). Preferred weapons are whatever she can place on the battlefield to slow down opponents, bow (she shifts through many, depending on her needs, but one of her favorites is Grunsmann’s Bow) and arrows.

my japanese class went on a field trip to zojoji temple near tokyo tower with japanese university students

went in tokyo tower and saw an amazing sunset over mt. fujiiiiii (and sprouted ideas for future romantic date set up hehehe)

met a bunch of cool japanese students (Hiro and Lola!!)

went to dinner with the students and our professor

ela and i were talking about how cool the guy hiro was on our walk back

and then he ran to catch up with us to walk back to the train lmao. our pal!!! what a guy!!!

wandered around back roads of azabu juban and found a cemetary

went back to tuj until 10pm in the studio

SLEEP

FRI

went to see the stand-up act of the guy I went to the drag show & other comedy show with (his name is nao for the record)

we were supposed to meet up with Ela but she got sick last minute :(

but things weren't awkward they were fun :)))) and i remembered that i actually think he’s really cute and funny (apparently i forgot in the week we didn't see each other lmao)

nao was so nervous and I was trying to comfort him while simultaneously trying not to make him more nervous by being too close lmao

after the show we stayed and talked to his professor that came and the also mc of the show (both asked how we met and we had to say tinder lmao)

his professor told me not to help him write his paper (hes an english major lol) and that it would be “good to make him suffer a little”

talked to the mc about being awkward when they make you participate at comedy shows but this part wasn’t actually awkward. also its so cool meeting all these people that are in japan for all different reasons??? also im becoming a real adult that can have actual good conversations with strangers

nao and i took the train back to shinjuku together and  he said he was amazed that i dont fall over on the train since i dont hold on to anything lmao

SAT

THE CRAZIEST DAY EVER I WALKED 27K steps/12 MILES

left dorm at 9am for tuj. met up with painting professor. took train to ueno park

museum we were gonna go to was closed for renovation so we went to some Titian show at another one and it was boring so ela and i just discussed how terrible they were at painting babies

went to another exhibition space called chiyoda 3331. saw a few really cool things

walked around akihabara/ in an arcade

ate tempura and discussed japan and learning japanese. and art. 

the guy we were with (kevin) showed us this cool bridge where you can see a ton of different train lines crossing over a river and we stood there for like a good 30 min lmao

took the train across tokyo to shimokitazawa (THRIFTING)

looked around a bit before ela and i met up with our friends Kristi and Steph. 

I fell in love with a pair of suede turquoise doc martens. and they had my size. in japan. a miracle. (also theyre new not thrifted) 

bought the docs

sadly didnt fit into many japanese clothes. uncertain if this is a body type issue or a too much food lately issue or maybe a bit of both...

got crepes and a good ass teriyaki burger

THOUGHT i was gonna go home but kristi and i stopped in shin-okubo (koreatown) for desert

looked at kpop goods and yelped for a while (both our favorite groups are very popular here)

bought some korean food from the grocery store and then... alcohol from the conveince store :-) public drinking is legal here lmao japan is too lit

Got drunk off this super strong vodka tonic that im convinced is simultaneously the cheapest and most tasty way to get drunk ever. i will miss this drink

drank some nasty ass green tea alchol

wandered around drunk for like an hour

NEEDED TO PEE SO WALKED IN CIRLCes for another 30 min before we remembered mcdonalds will be our best bet for a bathroom

finally got home around midnight

ate a ton of food

couldn’t sleep til 2

SUN

woke up somehow naturally at 8am. an hour before i even set an alarm. not hung over. feeling great. 

went for a run which didnt go well bc of asthma and general lack of physical fitness but at least i got to see a lot of the nearby neighborhood

met up with ela’s class at the science and nature museum. an illustrator that works here was giving us sketching advice/tips and at first i thought he was super agressive but i warmed up to him

he liked my drawing a lot and told me i should come to his event where a bunch of artists and illustrators in tokyo come to draw on sunday nights!!

ela and i went to ikebukuro and ate mcdonalds

walked to the bar where her roommate (atsuko) was performing. 

ATSUKO IS AMAZING she is so talented holy shit i love her

her performance was incredible

then there were other bands and they were like more punk/rock (?) kind of bands but yo i was into it, it was so fun

went out to dinner with atsuko, my friends, her friends

her friend’s friends got too drunk... at first it was funny but then iwas like ok we gotta go bc of homeweork

which was the RIGHT MOVE BECAUse omg after we left some guy puked and another one disappeared and there was still the equivalent of $100 left to be covered on the check bc they drank so fucking much

atsuko is performing again in 2 weeks and im so excited?? im gonna invite nao too so he can meet my friends

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Elanor

So, there's a running joke I have with a few friends that the first female character of each game I play - with customizable options - has to be a badass redhead called iterations of the name Lenore, which is the name of my Mass Effect protagonist. I find it hilarious that my Shepard is traveling through realms bringing chaos and a very bad personality. Luckily Ela turned out similar to Lenore only in the physical aspects, mentally they're polar opposites - well, except when it comes to falling for dorks with sarcastic approaches on life << I don't remember the first thing I decided about her, actually, it's been a while. Probably something related to her strength.

Hawke

Just like Ela, he happened very randomly. I remember approaching the game superficially in the first run, like, picking just the diplomatic options and having a mediocre time throughout the story by deciding for the "best" decisions and romancing the "wrong" character. But then I remember @underneathestars mentioned that the humorous personality was super fun and I was like "oh, so I can play as the town's fool! amazing!". Plus, another friend told me that Fenris was the best romance so I was like "yeah, why not, better than [other character]" All the right calls were made and Kerry was such a fun character to play and mentally accessorize! The first thing I decided about him was that he's just Some Dude. No particular skillset, just a big heart and a tendency to put himself in danger because of it.

Ankh

Another child of a second or third or fourth (can't remember) playthrough. I remember wanting a really fun character to engage the environment with but this time with actual competences and that is really doing her best, and more. With her, I fell in love with the game and the franchise in general. The first thing I decided about her was that everything she accomplished, she had to work for it. She isn't afraid of failure, because failure is the first thing she experiences in life and she knows how to take the best tools from it to succeed another day.

🍰 CAKE SLICE - favourite cake flavour? are they specific about types of cakes?

Elanor

Coming from nobility, she has tasted many varieties of cake so she could develop preferences - and be picky about it << I would say something creamy and voluptuous, like those cakes with flavored custard and layers of puff pastry sheets, with fancy fruit on top. She's a fan of delicate scents and flavors when it comes to pastry, but it has to be decadent or else she prefers not to engage.

Hawke

He could eat any cake, really. However, his favorite is a classic: jam tart (onion and fig being his preferred choices for filling).

Ankh

She's lactose and gluten intolerant, plus she can't digest fermented aliments, so her options are very limited when it comes to eating - whenever she doesn't cut them herself because of her eating disorder. Rather than cake she's fond of small pastry. One of the best things she has ever eaten was the thedosian cousin of a cannolo, with fresh ricotta cheese, chocolate chips, and orange slices - she fell super sick after that but, eh, can't really blame her for making such a bad decision.

🚆TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Since the implications of the whole thing are quite complex, I'm going with the regular version (source wikipedia):

"There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. However, you notice that there is one person on the side track. You have two (and only two) options:

Do nothing, in which case the trolley will kill the five people on the main track.

Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person.

Which is the more ethical option? Or, more simply: What is the right thing to do?"

Elanor

The right thing to do, for her, would be diverting the trolley to kill one person. Hopefully it's Darkspawn

Hawke

Same as Elanor, but he'd make sure to identify the person and take care of their family afterwards

Ankh

Among the three, she's the one that thinks about it for a while before providing an answer. Would make the trolley explode, if the distance is enough to support the idea. Hypotetically, all of the people will be harmed by the explosion but nobody - except her maybe - would die. If the distance isn't enough to plan a thing, she'd do the same as the others. Her first instinct would be looking for a third option tho.

Apart from being attracted to tall wardrobes (usually blonde), Ankh falls for what's hidden way beneath the surface, and it's usually resilience, or the drive to follow a difficult path despite not having the odds in their favour. She likes a good riddle to solve and her brain is always working, even when in love

🔥 What's a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?

Give Hawke a man that knows what he wants and he'll turn red from head to toe. It hasn't to be something that involves romance (or Hawke) specifically, it's something connected to their personality. Like idk, breaking and entering an old mansion and instead of a stealthily approach the guy just yells the house owner's name to let him know his intentions. Decidedness is definitely a turn on, yeah

👃 Does your OC smell good? Do they have a signature smell?

Uuuh well, Ela doesn't smell good usually, because of the taint - plus being a warrior with an armor tattooed on and living on the road. I hc that wardens have the sweet stink typical of something rotten; at the beginning is veeery subtle but it grows stronger as time goes by. It's something that only sensitive noses can pick up but it's there, lingering. Apart from that, when she stops and the camp is safe enough for organizing a decent bathing, she always uses herbs and scented soaps. I picture her having kind of a range of musky / woody scents on her skin when she's presentable for human interactions :'

👙 What kind of underwear do they use? Is it pretty or functional? (Not me having headcanons on this already lmao)

Ankh is functional. It means that when she's out in the wild hunting she wears practical stuff. However, when she's chill things must be pretty and flattering. She loves to look and feel good even if things get unnoticed

Ela really prefers functional stuff, mostly because of her job, but also because she was never interested in being pretty to begin with. You can find her with mismatched lingerie and socks that just patch roughly when they break
