My brother recently got into Demon Slayer so I wanted to make a kny oc for him since I did it before with both me and my sister and never got around to my brother :)

But I started by refreshing my own design because wow?? It’s been 4 years since I first made my kny insert character and a lot of things are now outdated! Not to mention my art has improved a lot, I hope. More details under the cut!

Meet Ebisu Koharu: youngest of the Ebisu family and physically the weakest. They only barely passed Final Selection by hiding for the entire week and surviving off tips from their older siblings. Nonetheless, they still want to contribute, which is why they hold onto a thick, leather bound book that records every demon they’ve ever met in precise detail, with labeled diagrams and scribbled calculations in the margins of different strengths and weaknesses.

After spending a few years on the job, and properly seeing their data contribute to the successes of other demon slayers, they’ve come a bit more into their own as a competent researcher and fighter, though they still do tend to request paired missions with friends and family to act more as a support role rather than a fighter.

The Ebisu family is one of scholars. The eldest daughter Kaoru is a doctor, and the eldest son Shougen is a chemist. By nature, fighting is not necessarily their strong suit, which is why their family breathing style and techniques are all poison-assisted. Of the three, Koharu is the weakest and most averse to combat— they wield a short half-length blade, with more of a smooth ceremonial hilt and sheath than any practical weapon.

Better character design and research skills #it’s a lot of fun thinking more about details when designing now #I.e. brushes are wildly impractical tools for writing on the go so koharu’s main choice of stationery is an imported fountain pen that cost #a decent amount of their savings #and they wanted their records to last longer so they also invested in a proper leather bound journal (also imported) rather than #a normal string bound book like their normal daily journal. this is also why the books open in different directions #in the event that their fountain pen breaks they Will Cry but they will also commit the details to memory and write them in with a bruh #with a brush after the battle ends

guys i had the craziest chenford dream last night, i'm gonna turn it into a wip.

#*and this is icarly! #okay so the dream was lucy going uc with noah #but seeing how he was in the beginning of 5x16 when she came to back him up #he seems like the kind of guy to me to let a case completely consume him #like he forgets that he is putting himself and sometimes others in extremely dangerous situations #all because HE wants to catch the bad guy... like he has a hero complex that just takes over him #so in the dream they were uc and at some point ended up in a high speed chase in pursuit of a suspect #but the situation becomes too dangerous and starts getting out of hand #to the point where lucy knows better and knows that they need to get out of there and come up with a new plan #but noah doesn't listen and continues to pursue the suspect anyway cause HE wants the arrest #driving like he's in fast and the furious and causes them to crash #i started to wake up a little bit but there was also this scene in my head of tim berating noah in the hospital #like 'she begged and pleaded for you to stop! and now she has [x/y/z injuries] because of you!' #he even whips out the recordings of lucy begging for him to stop... shows pictures of her bloodied and bruised in the very same hospital #idk this played out so cool in my dreams last night would anybody wanna read it?????? #the rookie #tim bradford #lucy chen #noah foster #chenford #otp: you know me so well #there was even a part in my dream where tim speeds up next to their car #and lucy looks over at him absolutely terrified #idk idk let me know if i should write this #does it sound dumb? would you read it??

it's always good to foster empathy for animals and I think that there are so many creatures that are far more similar to humans than we give them credit for (or perhaps more accurately that humans are not as special as we make ourselves out to be) but anthropomorphism can truly be so dangerous... it's important to remember that humans are Also animals, but other animals are, obviously, Not humans and we lack an ability to communicate with them fully. trying to shove human emotions onto them hurts conservation more than it helps it. you can never actually know what an animal is feeling or what potential feelings mean to an animal. we can Guess, but broad and vague descriptors of behavior are always better than assigning human emotions that can have dangerous implications. a shark is not "angry", it is acting aggressively towards something, a lion is not a cold blooded killer, it is hunting for food. once you try to give animals morals or try to moralize their actions you enter very dangerous territory, especially if you're just like. a random person on the internet and not a scientist that studies animal behavior

linkeduniverse is such a strange experience sometimes. there are people who've probably played all the games the chain is from. there's folks who probably haven't played any of them. there's an active fandom and it has a tvtropes page. no one knows what's happening outside and sometimes even inside the fandom. the main antagonist is a shapeshifter made of shadowy goop that still hasn't appeared in a humanoid form. his name is dink. shadow link might also be here somewhere. there is no consistent design for either of them. (which I think is actually a wonderful thing! it's always exciting to see different takes on an unseen character design while all starting from the same point of reference. there's gonna be similar trends, but you also find the trend-breakers and I just appreciate it a lot).

...with each update i'm also pulled right back into The Nonsense that is my brain going "hey what if we just. made more adventurers. two more chains of links."

According to 6 different serious health/psychology pages I have BPD, do you think that means I should see a therapist?

#i've been thinking about the possibility for a while but never looked up symptoms because i was scared #and now it's starting to get out of hand so i finally did even though i originally didn't want to be officially diagnosed #for various reasons like the stigma in society and my health insurance knowing so all my future doctors will go back to their #'it's only psychological stop being so dramatic you're not actually sick' shit and invalidating me and my health problems in the past #some of them straight up refused to write a sick note for school when i actually had the flu back in 8th grade #so that's one reason why i don't want any mental illnesses to appear in my medical record #plus the cost factor because i'm not sure if the insurance would even cover everything but i might end up paying for it myself #if it means the health insurance won't be informed even if it's probably a lot of money #but in order to get therapy i need to get diagnosed by a professional so once i read into it a bit more i'll figure out how to tell my mom #and see if i'll call this one therapist in my town who apparently treats psychosomatic disorders #i'm sincerely sorry to everybody i've talked to recently (aside from casual fandom chatting) who may have noticed me behaving kinda shitty #advice is greatly appreciated because this hit me like a train and i don't fucking want this. like at all #i thought my switching between depressed and anxious and angry and empty and hyper was just. idk something else but not That #mel talks

One thing I find very funny about Fate is that despite their love of genderbends, they've only changed an originally male character's name to a female variant once - their very first and most iconic one, Artoria. All the men changed into women that came after her just... Kept their masculine names. Mordred, Nero, Nobunaga, all women, don't question it, it's fine.

#the mechanisms #ouatis #no happy ending #i dont know if this is gonna make sense to anyone else #i assume that this is a normal method for teaching fiddle but i have no way of knowing #the thing is. at the end the fiddle stops but you can keep hearing it in the accordion because its just the length of the notes #and the bowing of the fiddle A determines the length of the notes but B is very parallel in sound at least to the accordion #idk if any of that made sense idk shit about the accordion #and i used the term ‘fiddle’ throughout here because a fiddle is typically a violin. but afaiaa nastya played a viola. #now the black one they had that didnt have a hollow body (and thus i think is electric. but again idk shit) has five strings which means- #its *both* a viola and violin. usually these combo instruments have a viola body because the lowest string needs the larger body to sound- #good basically. and the highest string can resonate well in the larger body. whereas as the sound of the highest string is great in the- #small body of the violin but the lowest one gets fucked up. however since that instrument doesnt have a hollow body i have no idea how that- #affects it. my assumption would be that even in this form the viola size is more common. since it is in the typical form. and that since- #viola is what nastya played anyway thats what they would have wanted #all of that is to say that i dont know which instrument they were using for performances or the recording of ouatis. but either way.- #fiddles are typically violins and it my understanding that nastya played a viola. therefore i just said fiddle instead of violin or viola- #wow! over explaining my beloved /j #gonna just state again that idk SHIT about the accordion and thats what i think im hearing but i could be wrong

#Thanks for the ask ! #Yakuza liveplay #this isnt about shinada because i want to talk about kiryu but he seems like a walking horror story to me. a man with his strings cut will #just keep falling ... like theres nobody to catch kiryu and he made sure of that himself #i think kiryu wont die. people will just keep throwing themselves in front of bullets meant for him until the group of people he can trust #and talk to slowly dwindle to nothing. he knows its because of him. i think kiryu will eventually stop trying to force his story in another #direction. he will keep walking until theres nobody behind him to follow. there is literally no end in sight for him no valiant death or #sacrifice he can close his book with. someone will keep bringing him back he will keep walking into pitfalls he cant afford the #gravitational pull of a big problem itll just keep drawinf him in until hes right in the heart of it and then he can pull it all apart and #he starts all over again with the next city the next family the next villain. kiryu will never rest and its in part his fault. just a little #he said it before. men like him dont get to choose what to do with their lives. they dont belong to themselves. like kiryu has stayed alive #in the scariest possible way. hes dead on record hes basically a ghost among the living. he cant live as himself his name doesnt belong to #him anymore (unless hes inputing his high score for karaoke) he drifts along until the next guy hooks him out #of the flow and puts him to work. and hes always happy to work because theres literally nothing else for him to do #i know people want him to retire but the lack of closure for him is so compelling to me .... #kiryu will die alone. he’ll see to that himself
