Today had been a very rough day for one Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Being expelled from school, seeing a duplicate of hers being cruelly unmade in front of her, almost catching Hawk Moth and Mayura, and then being reinstated to school, only to see freaking Lila modeling along Adrien. Ladybug was patrolling, like every other night, trying to get her mind in order of one of the most stressful days she had ever gotten.

But enough was enough, and even though Adrien had asked her to be the bigger person, what Lila did was more than a simple lie, and had actually helped Hawk Moth go scarlet again.

Ladybug stopped in her tracks. Could it have been a coincidence? It seemed too contrived for Lila open the doors just as the red butterflies appeared, and everyone got akumatized. Including herself. She didn’t remember much of the time, but Tikki had assured her that she had tried to take off the earring before the akumatization happened, and then the butterflies were gone as fast as they had appeared. Lila had to be stopped, even if that meant having to face her as an akuma yet again. Even if that meant that Adrien would be mad at her for not playing the High Road like he wanted.

She looked into the Cesaire family apartment and saw that the lights were still on. Good. No going back.

With grace, she landed in the balcony, and knocked on the window. The Alya’s mother was the one to look through the curtain. She immediately opened for her.

“Oh my goodness! Ladybug, is everything alright? You need help for something?”

The rest of the family approached the balcony as quickly as they could to help Paris’ hero. Ladybug smiled. “Don’t worry Mrs. Cesaire, everything is okay” she looked directly at Alya. “However… I was informed of what happened today at school”

Marlena and her husband nodded. Alya had told them all about Marinette being expelled, and about the mass akumatization that almost happened.

“If it’s not much of a bother, I would like your permission to do a live interview with Alya about what happened today, so we can prevent it from happening again”

“Yes, yes, of course you can” answered Marlena. Alya felt a little weird that Ladybug hadn’t asked her directly, but guessed that since her mom was there, and it was already late, she asked her to avoid giving Alya any trouble.

They prepared everything in their living room, with Alya giving instructions to her mom about how to start the recording. Since Ladybug had asked a live interview, she was streaming directly to the Ladyblog, and she had already posted the notice that she was giving said interview.

“3… 2…1… Hello everyone, good night, I’m Alya from the Ladyblog and we have an exclusive interview with Ladybug herself!”

“Hey everyone!” Ladybug waved with a smile on her face, before adopting a more serious tone. “Before we start to really talk, I want to ask everyone seeing this interview, to take a really deep breath, and try to remain calm. What we’re going to discuss might have affected yourself, or someone you know. Please remain calm, everything has a solution, and the motive of this talk is to prevent something like what happened today from happening again.”

“Ladybug here wants to talk about what happened today at my school. It was scary, as most of you already know, a repeat of Heroes Day almost happened! My friend Marinette was almost akumatized and… well, we don’t know exactly what happened but…”

“She was framed” said Ladybug point blank. Alya understood that it was Ladybug’s turn to talk now. “From what I have been told, Marinette was framed to provoke her akumatization, along with everyone else’s. Like Alya said, a repeat of Heroes Day”

“Yeah, apparently a classmate of mine has a condition that makes her lie. She doesn’t control it, so it wasn’t deliberate!”

Ladybug stared at Alya for a few seconds. She sighed, as she already knew Alya would try to defend her friend. “Lila Rossi deliberately and maliciously framed Marinette Dupain-Cheng to provoke her akumatization and everyone else.”

“What? No, no, Ladybug, maybe Lila hasn’t told you, but she has a condition that…”

“That makes her steal answer sheets and then shoves them in other student’s backpack and then accuses them of cheating? And that same condition makes her hide her own property in other student’s locker only to accuse them of stealing?” Alya was speechless. “That was a premeditated and planned attack. That was not something that she just said because she has no control”

Alya was trying to find something to defend Lila, but coming with nothing. Yeah, her ‘condition’ would account for the lying, but hiding the things in Marinette property doesn’t really cover it, does it?

“I guess accusing Marinette of pushing her down the stairs could be blamed on her supposed condition, even though she was perfectly fine afterwards… and the school didn’t even call her mother, did they?”

Alya shook her head. “No… she’s a very busy woman…”

“So busy she wouldn’t go to check her daughter falling from one story long stairs?” Alya remained speechless. She tried to look at her own mom, but she was as shocked as her. Marlena only knew Lila for the wonderful things that Alya had said about her, but what Ladybug was saying didn’t seem to align with what she had been told.

“But… she’s your best friend, why would she want to frame Marinette?”

Ladybug sighed again. “Lila is not my best friend. Lila is not even my friend. She’s vaguely an acquaintance. And as far as I know… Marinette has been trying to prove to you and the whole class that she was lying, wasn’t she?”

Alya felt as if she had been slapped in the face, hard. Ladybug was right. Marinette had been trying to tell them the truth about Lila… it made sense that Lila would try to get rid of her.

“But she… why would… she…”

“Tell me ONE proof. ANY proof of anything that she had said. The Jagged stone song, the many directors and actors she claim to know… any proof of her telling the truth.”

Alya stammered. “She… she… she had that photo shot with Adrien Agreste today!”

“She claimed to have done photo shots before?”

“Well yes, lots of fashion moguls want her as the face of their brand!”

“Is there any proof of that?”

Alya had to shut up again. No, she had not seen anything before today.

“Alya, please take down the interviews of that Lila girl. They are full of lies and empty promises. Students of Francoise Dupont, if that girl has promised you something, don’t count on it. Never put someone on a pedestal, we are all human and fallible.”

“Why… why didn’t you tell me sooner that Lila was not your friend?”

“Marinette wanted to be the one to tell you. After all, she’s your friend, and that’s what friends do.” Another slap to the face. “But after today, I had to make sure everyone knew the truth. Someone once told me that all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing. And I had done nothing for too long. If I had talked sooner, maybe this would have been prevented, maybe not.”

Ladybug made a signal to Marlena to cut the interview, and she did. They were still in shock for the revelations that Ladybug had told them

“Lila…”

“She will have to face whatever consequences her actions have incurred” said Ladybug matter of factly.

“I owe Marinette a huge apology”

“I’m sure she will understand. Now, I’m sorry to have done that in live streaming, but I didn’t want Lila to lie her way out of this, or to try to convince you that I was the one lying, or that I was jealous of her, or some other lie” she sighed. “Well, now I have to keep patrolling. I’m fairly certain Lila will be akumatized again when she sees the interview”

About the Oblivio and Ladybug episodes

Hey cats and bugs, I'm back to talk about another very important, very overlooked moment by the fandom. (Which lowkey turned into another theory) But before I get to it, I need to bring us back to Oblivio to remind you about why  it's important. So in Oblivio we all remember how we got that Kiss™. And thanks to our great reporter Alya, all of Paris also got that kiss. Someone very important who got the kiss as well? Hawkmoth.

After the battle was all said and done, the kiss, the miraculous ladybug cleanse, etc. We come back to Hawkmoth in his lair like always. And for his post-loss rant™ he says this, "I won't soon forget this Ladybug and Chat Noir. The love you both secretly have for each other will be your downfall."

Now back when this episode first aired. I only saw a handful of fans mentioning how worried they were about this. At the prospect of Hawkmoth knowing they love each other and using it against them. Like heck check out this endcard piece.

So it kind of became a matter of when he would use it against them. Now let's acknowledge how prominent of a role Mayura has been this season. I think it is safe to say she also now holds this knowledge of Ladynoir. So we get back to the episode Ladybug. In which Mayura creates Sentibug and uses her to flirt with/seduce Chat Noir into giving in to her, so she can steal the ring. Because she's aware that they secretly love each other right? Fool proof plan.

Except our favourite fool drops an unexpected bomb on it. Because after Sentibug professes to Chat, Chat responds confusedly with, "But, I thought you said you love somebody else?" And cue the scene cutting back to show Mayura getting shocked by this.

This. This is what's important and was very overlooked.

Because this just changed the game. Mayura now knows the truth.

A) She knows that they aren't secretly in love. B) She knows that Chat loves her, but it isn't reciprocated. C) She knows that Ladybug is in love with somebody else! (Which Ladybug reiterates herself moments later after showing up, "She's manipulating you! You know I'm already in love with someone else!")

Also important is what happens after Mayura hears Chat say this. She instantly collects herself and changes the approach. Getting Sentibug to then say,

"It's-It's over. After all this time, I've realized you're always here for me. Even when I keep rejecting you, your feelings for me haven't changed. And mine? Are growing stronger everyday. I can't keep pretending anymore."

This gets him. (I have a theory regarding Chat Blanc that could play into this, but I think I'm going to make a whole other post for that theory, so stay tuned)

So now Mayura knows all of what I've listed above. But then she also learns that Chat is gullible enough to fall for her scheme. She now realizes just how desperately in love with Ladybug he truly is.

Info that she'll no doubtedly share with Hawkmoth.

So not only does Chat have to be extra careful with his lady. But Ladybug herself also has to be careful in the future. Because what's the point of keeping the secret identities? To protect their loved ones.

So she needs to be sure that she watches out too, because who has she shown affection for while behind her mask? The same boy she shows affection for without it. Adrien Agreste. 

This should all be concerning because this is the last episode before the season finale. So we all know some poopy is going to hit the ceiling here. Not to mention that the finale is centered around love. Heck the first episode of the two parter is literally called Loveater.

So I think this should all give reasons for being nervous about the Love Square™ in the finale. Especially with the synopsis we've been given, which I'm going to leave under a cut here. Because I'm aware some people consider it a spoiler. So reading beyond here is at your discretion. Bug out!

Synopsis: "Marinette helps Adrien and Kagami escape a ceremony organized by the Bourgeois couple for their 20 years of marriage. The 3 friends have fun until Marinette, seeing Adrien and Kagami together, decides to leave them alone, sacrificing her feelings for the one she's always loved. But during this time, the Bourgeois anniversary turns sour and the couple gets akumatized. Now Loveater, a Cerberus with two heads constantly fighting each other, they devour all love in Paris. Overpowered by this powerful villain, Ladybug seeks the help of Master Fu. But still upset about her love sacrifice, she makes a mistake that will prove disastrous..."

You know what I love about this bit?

I love how the almighty Scarlet Moth suddenly feels powerless. 

That’s the feeling I get when they set the camera to be this far from them. We cannot go and help Nathalie as she collapses on the ground. Only Gabriel can and he is all alone to help her. They are all little in the frame.

And the shot concludes on them as civilians, as humans, rather than as supervillains.

Every Moment in “Ladybug” Adrien Stood Up for Marinette

Adrien: *stands* Excuse me, Ms Bustier, but everyone here knows it isn’t like Marinette to cheat. Alya: *also stands* Mmhm! He’s right!

I just really admire Adrien in this moment. Within one statement he’s doing three things: defending Marinette, and also reminding everyone else of how good her character is, on top of encouraging/reminding Marinette herself of who she is. This is what I call amazing friendship. The best of friends are the ones who remind you of who you are and your greatest qualities - especially in times when we are challenged, feel helpless and under pressure (which is what Marinette is feeling at this moment). At this point we know he is fully aware of how capable and crafty Lila can be to get what she wants and this is only our warm-up meal of the day’s special dish we’ll refer to as: “Adrien’s defensiveness.”  I also love how Alya stands up after him to show that extra support, and then everyone in the class agrees! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marinette: She’s making up this whole thing! It wasn’t me! I didn’t do anything, I swear!

Just look at his reaction to Marinette trying to defend herself! He’s so hurt! He knows she’s innocent. He knows Lila has something to do with it.  He’s watching one of his closest and most precious friends trying to stammer for words in such a helpless situation and it’s hurting him! He believes in Marinette. He wholeheartedly believes in her virtues and her values. Then she turns TO him.

Marinette: (helpless) You know Lila is lying, don’t you, Adrien? :(

And something snaps. Boom. His expression just drops. He’s thinking: I do know she’s lying. Marinette is backed up into a corner, depending on him to support her and now his defensive levels have just turned UP and fully activated. He’s putting it all together and this image is just screaming pent-up anger: Lila, how dare you hurt someone I care about? Our boy is ready to DEFEND and PROTECT. Marinette is relying on him.  (I don’t know about you, but this is a personal preference) I really admire this trait in a lot of my guy friends when they say they get this “protective instinct” when they sense that the ones they care about are in trouble or hurting. So I am getting wild and proud for seeing Adrien get this way with Marinette. I could watch his expression drop into that protective face all day, I am all for it and I am cheering him on. Adrien: (anger/determination) Mr. Damocles, I don’t think- (...he is silenced with one hand gesture.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- BONUS: Not exactly Adrien, but within this episode, we can also see how protective he is with this line: CN: Chat Noir to the rescue milady.

We know he’s always been this way. He will do what it takes to protect her, save her and defend her. When he mentions he’s there to “rescue” it encompasses all three of those traits.

----------------------------------------- FINALLY. Look at the nice-guy face he’s got on.

Adrien: Would you mind leaving us alone for a second? :) Immediately dropping to:

Determined. Stoic. Ready to cut the bs. It’s about to go down.

A moment to soak this in. Listen to the low, threatening music simmering in the background. And-

His voice drops. The music as well - from a low, haunting, sustained note, the string instruments bite, and the cymbals crash and simmer to reflect Lila’s alarm. Adrien: I warned you once already, Lila. But you didn’t listen.

She turns. He has her full attention. The best way to describe what she’s thinking is simply, “Oh sh**.” Adrien: You hurt my friend, Marinette, and that’s not okay. Lila: Me?!-

His head sinks even lower. His face is even blurred, slightly out of focus to show he’s letting this all sink in and he’s building up his thoughts to say his final piece. She continues on like a whining, blabbering child, pointing fingers and trying to shift the blame.

Lila: (con’t) -hurting Marinette?! But she’s the one who- Adrien: (cuts her off) I don’t know how you to prove you lied, Lila. Because you’re good at it.  So you’ll have to come up with another lie - just as convincing-

He doesn’t even let her finish her sentence. He is sick of her bullcrap. She tries to pin it back on Marinette but he is simply cutting all the crap right there.  And he does this all with one head-turn and she stops immediately. Adrien: (con’t) -only this time it’s gonna prove Marinette’s innocent.

Just look at his face furrow even deeper as he says those two final words. Then here. I am in love with the matching shots that follow: Lila: Why would I do that, Adrien? (Just like with Marinette in Chameleon, when she’s realized that somebody has caught on to her, she switches into threat mode.)

And in a super low, husky voice, what he says next is pure poetry:

Adrien: because we’re friends aren’t we?

WHOLE FANDOM: *QUAKES* He uses the very thing that’s precious to him and turns it into a weapon. He is a total badass in this entire scene. Lila has people wrapped around her finger, but watch Adrien take the initiative and wrap Lila around his own finger. Lila’s aim was to get Adrien away from Marinette, but it only brought him closer to her. It awakened - even more - the part inside of him that will defend Marinette with every fibre of his being. I believe the more he does this, the sooner he will come to realize his care for her goes deeper than what he chooses to tell himself.

Haven't been able to watch the "Ladybug" episode yet but I sure as hell have seen half of the Fandom theorizing that Adrien is a Sentimonster.

Okay first of all that is one bomb ass concept, I love it! Thank you whoever came up with that. But I'm still not sure what to really think of it because that is ALOT and it would be kinda weird for Marinette to end up in a true love relationship in the end when Adrien is a freaking Sentimonster. Still tho if it somehow ends up being correct, well, I can fuck with that in respect tbh

But now to my actual point because the moment I heard of the concept that one of our characters is a secret Sentimonster I inmediadly went

THE GORILLA!!!

If there is a Sentimonster plot twist, this is the one I find the most possible. Think about it:

He doesn't have an actual name

He doesn't talk (I know Sentimonsters are capable of speech but not all of them)

And his protective feelings of Adrien and his dedication to keep him save and sound are, well, Sentimonster level if you wanna put it like that

Even the time frame of Emilies coma can match up. The origins episode 1 hinted that Adrien only started modeling after Emilies dissappearence and Adriens Instagram account basically confirmed that with this:

He's around the same age as now. When we take this as Canon (which Im genuinely leaning towards because the ml Instagram accounts are surprisingly interactive and well thought out, I wouldn't see how and why the instas would give out wrong information about such a critical topic. Also this cover needed to be produced non the less and its not like its completely impossible that the Instagram people know what's up or at least get told what to post from a reliable source)

When we take this as Canon Adrien started becoming famous after Emilie dissappeared and therefore would have only needed a bodyguard since then. So possibly the gorilla only came into Adriens life after Emilie.

We basically still know nothing concrete about the Agreste backstory but let's just go with this for a moment.

Emilie used the peacock before. They found it in the (Tibet) vacation we have seen Adriens childhood picture of in "the collector"

That was roughly 10 years ago.

Let's say after Emilie found the peacock and while using it for something she found out about something bad, making her basically locking her child up and isolating him out of overprotectivness. 10 years later something happened that at least THEN made her reuse the peacock again. Like, whatever bad was out there 10 years ago that made her lock up Adrien, it came back and she tried to stop it.

For that she and Gabriel went back to Tibet looking (and finding) the butterfly and the Grimoire. It's impossible to say what happened there but obviously it put Emilie into a coma. So let's say the "bad" came there too, also looking for the butterfly and the Grimoire perhaps (something miraculous related definitely I mean DUH). But Emilie couldn't stop them/only fight them off (Gabriel definitely didn't use the butterfly back then the origins made that quite clear). So she ends up at the end with her strength but she's still somewhat conscious.

Gabriel (after getting the butterfly and Grimoire) brings a weakened Emilie home (I mean they/Gabriel somehow had to have been able to transfer her back to Paris without anyone noticing her being in a freaking COMA! She had to be at least somewhat conscious for that)

Back in Paris she's put into the underground room and into the tube. There (or somewhere before) both she and Gabriel make a promise ("style queen"). But before she fades she transforms one last time creating the gorilla with her last strength as a protector to keep her child save from whatever is out there she couldn't stop. Or maybe the gorilla was already created when Emilie had to be brought back to Paris to support and protect Gabriel and then she gave him a new mission with protecting Adrien and keeping him safe and sound

Look I don't know how plausible this is but I'm calling dips on the gorilla being a Sentimonster, that's all xD

OH OH OH I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING 

She might speak sternly to her, but Duusu doesn’t seem nearly as intimidated of Nathalie as Nooroo to Gabriel

She’s able to protest what Nathalie is trying to do without getting yelled at or reprimanded

And she seems to actually care about Nathalie’s feelings and wellbeing (Her saying “its so romantic” is also evidence that she may have even confided in her about her feelings for Gabriel)

All pretty good signs that she isn’t treated like dirt.

So, these were the four people we were shown Hawk Moth was able to akumatize.

Worth noting that out of these 4 people, 3 of them avoided HawkMoth previous massive akumatization.

Damocles and Bustier believed Lila's lies, so fuck them for being dissapointed in Marinette. It was enough to break them, but still

But Rose and Juleka? Rose gets easily scared, either she saw the red butterflies, or she was scared by what had happened with Marinette. I don't think she was dissapointed in Marinette.

Juleka? I outright refuse to believe she doubted Marinette for even one nanosecond. That's the girl who went after her when Chloe locked her in the bathroom. That's the girl who moved heaven and hell just so she could have a picture. That's the girl who gladly gave her the spotlight to be a model when Marinette could have easily take that chance to be with her crush. That's the girl who has helped Kitty Section in SO many ways. That's her brothers crush, dammit!

So yeah, what broke Juleka was feeling unable to help the girl that has done so much for her, and no one can convince me otherwise.
