[heavy sigh]
Just realized Diallos is also Felix’s type.
Which means i instantly went “ok so Rogier/Felix/Diallos, yes”
Brain is just making Felix have three weed smoking boyfriends. Sure, the plot for the au was going to make the Roundtable Hold crew basically a single diplomatic group to negotiate with Morgott re: not killing every tarnished he sees, but like. He doesn’t need to collect people like pokemon to make this happen. Brain why.
I blame the fact that Felix’s attitude about it would be just. “I can [probably] financially support Diallos and Rogier. Morgott is a literal king. I think he’ll be fine.” Yes, he would be the one being blackmailed for having multiple families and just laugh about it bc all his partners know about the others, they just like their space.
Returning to the point though, like. The main problem with Felix liking Diallos too is that the man would never leave the goddamn hold alone enough to progress his storyline. I could have his story progress and just do the [spiderman point] meme with Felix infiltrating Volcano Manor like “hold up” “I can explain--” “The explanation better be ‘i am here to back you up’ and not ‘killing tarnished for a man with the word blasphemy in his name’, Diallos.” “... I’ve not killed anyone.” A frown. “Unlike some of us.” “If I don’t do this, we don’t get access to Lyndell!” “Convenient, then, that you get to do as you will!” “I’m hardly stopping you from doing as you please.” A scowl. “Not like you actually do anything.” “How dare you! The tale of House--” “Hoslow is told in blood, i know. Everyone else’s blood, you mean.” Cue Diallos looking properly pissed off and pushing past Felix to grab an envelope off the table in the drawing room and leaving. Then cut to him having grabbed the letter ordering the death of Juno. Naturally, he can’t do it and wanders to Jarburg. Felix likely wouldn’t do it either, but would be fine with hiding Juno in the Roundtable Hold until he got an audience with Rykard.
Meanwhile i assume to make that work i’ll have to have had Morgott set an impossible task for Felix and the Hold to meet before Margit will let this little ‘diplomatic meeting’ thing to happen. Very “I don’t believe you’re peaceful, nor do i believe that you’re as strong as you say. Bring me the Rune of Praetor Rykard and then you may speak to a diplomat. Maybe.” Which hinges on handing over an unrestored rune shard, which would make mmm no one in the hold happy without the legwork already in place for it to work. But it WOULD gain them an uneasy alliance of sorts with Lyndell, making moving around far easier. Would certainly make oh idk KNOWING ANYTHING about the lands between easier. You know, the land people want to rule. And one would assume that the King of Lyndell being chill with you would be a thing you’d like as Elden Lord.
Idk its late at night and i’m brainstorming

Qatar:
For the host nation, the task is clear, and manager Felix Sanchez is a 46-year-old who knows the country - and its football teams well. The Spaniard first came to Qatar in 2006, joining Aspire Academy. Over the years, he's held positions with the Under 19's and Under 23's before taking over the national team in 2017. Since then, he's led the team to the Asian Cup in 2019 and third place in the Arab Cup in December 2021. He has worked with the squad in a variety of age groups, and he has a lasting relationship with many of them. That said? The task is impossible and getting out of the group stage is a bridge too far.
On the pitch, results count, but off it, the World Cup represents a chance for the nation of Qatar to showcase the country to the world. Nassar Al-Khater is the Chief Executive Officer of the FIFA World Cup and feels that visitors will not only be amazed by the quality of football and the stadiums that are being built. What he is choosing to ignore is the fact that they had to move the World Cup to December to deal with the oppressive heat, and the fact that hundreds of migrant workers have died building those same stadiums Qatar is putting forth as their "showcase to the world". You know, little things. Nothing major.
Netherlands:
Oh, the Dutch. Will the three-time finalists finally get their hands on the elusive trophy? The smart money would say no, but expect Holland to make it past the group stage and play some technical and appealing football on their way there. Talent like Depay, De Ligt, Van Djik, Malen, Danjuma and De Jong give this team match-winning ability throughout the pitch while newcomers Tyrell Malachia, Cody Gakpo and Noa Lang offer speed and the brilliance of unbridled youth and enthusiasm to a match side that could provide a surprise or two.
The issue is that Netherlands are perennial underachieves and with the recent cancer diagnosis of their manager, Louis Van Gaal, one has to ask how truly prepared is this squad? A soft group in qualifying did not provide the tests or the answers to the questions facing this squad, but lucky for them, those same questions won't need to be answered in the first three games. Once it becomes knockout time, however? Expect a quick dismissal for the Clockwork Oranje.
Senegal:
In World Football, there are always teams who are often overlooked solely due to their location or the exposure that their particular brand of football represents. To say that African teams get the short end of the stick both economically and from an exposure standpoint is old news by this point, but Senegal, this year's AFCON winners after a dramatic penalty shootout with Egypt? They're loaded and could make the furthest journey in a World Cup that we've seen from an African team in quite some time. Most would say that Senegal's fortunes rely on the exploits of Sadio Mane. A recent transfer to Bayern Munich after a sterling career at Liverpool, the gifted playmaker and goalscorer is the fulcrum of all things in the Senegal attack. Elusive, gifted at finding space and blindingly fast on a counter-attack, Mane has caused fits for EPL defenses for years and months after taking his craft to the Bundesliga, he'll be taking his talents to Qatar flanked by a sneaky good cast of supporting actors.
Eduard Mendy is as good a goalkeeper as there is in World Football today. At the back Koulibaly, and Diallo provide security in their respective positions, while Kouyate and Gueye secure the middle of the pitch and link play with the aforementioned Mane and his partner on the opposite flank, Ismalia Sarr; a man who seems like he was born with a rocket attached to his ass when you think about the speed he has. Senegal is good, perhaps sneaky good, but they won't be a surprise for long.
Ecuador:
Before the 2000s, Ecuador hadn't reached a single World Cup in their entire history. Entering Qatar, this will be their 4th consecutive World Cup and expectations are high for Ecuador to finally deliver an elusive round of 16 appearance, their last coming when they were eliminated in 2006 by a brilliant David Beckham free-kick vs England. Perhaps then, this is Ecuador's time.
Victories over Chile & Uruguay in the first round of World Cup qualifying and subsequent draws with Brazil & Argentina prove that Ecuador is better than people give them credit for, but more importantly, their talent gives them a legitimate shot to make it to the group stage out of Group A. Pablo Hincapie and Pervis Estupinan both ply their trade in Europe with Leverkeusen and Villareal respectively and provide solid coverage at the back. Gonzalo Plata, Moises Caicedo, Angel Mena, and youngster Alan Franco, who is carving up the Liga Professional de Argentina with Talleres provide options and a midfielder core than compete with anyone in Group A.
Their strength, however, would be their forward line. Michael Estrada and Leonardo Campana are developing tremendously as goalscoring threats at DC United and Inter Miami respectively, and reliable talisman Enner Valencia is still banging in the goals at Fenerbache even at the "advanced" age of 32. This is a quality team that looks worse than it is due to the glut of talent and quality at the top of half of CONMEBOL, but make no mistake, they can compete and win against any team in Group A.
Group Prediction:
Senegal
Ecuador
Holland
Qatar

Week four contact sheet-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For week fours roll of full i was unable to find another person to shot so i just focused on trying to produce more images of myself, i was inspired by Felix Barjou and his use of flowers and colour so i played around with both of these in my images, i find a feel a lot more comfortable when i an in the coloured lighting as it is a lot less intense. I want to play around with more images and find a set person to take images of.  After looking at Ousman Diallos work i wanted to try closer angles, i found this quite hard without a tripod but i find the extreme close up angle to work well.

Eliminatoires CAN 2021. Eliminatoires CAN 2021. -Guinée Bissau : Jonas Azerdo Mendes, Eulanio A.C Gomes, Ladislau Leonel Ucha, Miralo Amado D. Gassama (Alexendre Mendy), Mama Samba Baldé ( Joao Lamine Jaquite), Joao M.N Fernandes (Joseph Mendes), Piquette V.B Silva (Carlos Apna Emballo). I just realized that Felix is going to talk mad shit during his initial fight with Margit and then have to eat crow about it when trying to do diplomacy.
Because Kenneth Height can totally get a letter to King Morgott. It’ll go through like four layers of advisors and several intelligence people looking for any foul play first, but he could get one there through the few official channels that exist. Meaning the few sane members of Godrick’s--now Nepheli’s--army would have to deliver it. Or flag down the Night’s Calvary and say its urgent, since they can get to the capitol literally in the span of daybreak.
Which means Margit deffo gets eyes on it before it goes through the channels properly, and knows damn well that the Tarnished are making a go of... stabilizing Limgrave and using it as a haven for tarnished. And like, sure, he could take his whole Calvary down there and kill Nepheli, but like. Part of his main problem with the tarnished is to do with the fact they’re unaccountable, inexperienced, largely bloodthirsty, and too ambitious for their own good. While this certainly doesn’t help the ambition thing, it shows that there are at least some tarnished with the skills to at least start getting shit in line. And the letter is asking for a diplomatic meeting--with an envoy of the king of Lyndell. He counts and is curious. If nothing else he just kills as many as he can before his illusion breaks and things go back to status quo.
But then he turns up with a letter saying HE is the envoy and Felix, head of this little “lets make the lands between peaceful” project, gets to be the one saying hi. Because Nepheli isn’t... she likes him well enough. She respects his abilities in combat, though his magic feels odd to her. Not bad, just odd. She, after the Albinuric village, would rather die than listen to her-- to gideon saying what he wants to do is hopeless. So she’s putting her weight behind him after he went and got her made Storm Queen of Limgrave. But she isn’t a diplomacy person. He is. Rogier is down to try fighting if need be from a wheelchair, but no one really wants to make him. Diallos offered, but was legitimately shaking at the sight of Margit from a window, so that was out.
So Felix swaggers his way into the audience hall and grins. “Ah, Margit the Fell! Good to see you come in from the rain. Been keeping busy, have you?” Margit is less than amused by the friendly tone. “Aye. As, it appears, have thou, Tarnished.” He eyes the other man over and notes the lack of weaponry or armor. Either foolish or foolhardy. “I didst warn thou about ambition, i believe.” “Oh, yes you did. Several times. With a hammer.” The hero grins and crosses his arms behind his back. “But enough reminiscing on the good old days-- Working for his majesty, King Morgott? That is a surprise.” “And how is that, tarnished?” “Nothing really, i had just taken you for a particularly overzealous gatekeeper. Imagine my surprise!” He gave a wave to a doorway leading off the audience chamber. “Come, we can discuss business in the sitting room over something to eat.” A pause as they both waited for the other to move. Felix, his smile tightening a touch, turned and started off first in a show of goodwill. Margit followed with every single thing about his posture reading as alert. The sitting room was warm, compared to the drafty travel to the castle, and the offered seating was comfortable. He waited until Felix sat to pick a spot and do so, looking around the room for any others that might pop up and stab him. “Where art thine advisors?” “Well, this is going to sound awkward.” Felix clasped his hands before him and pursed his lips. “But they’re rather convinced you’re going to try to kill them.” “I am here,” Margit spoke slowly, and with pronounced each word like he was trying to explain it to a particularly stubborn child. “On behalf of his majesty. Not to kill tarnished.” “That’s what I told them, but you’ve made quite the reputation for yourself--something about you brooking no quarter.” His good eye narrowed at the other man’s very carefully projected look of ease. Felix waved a hand. “They’ll join us after about an hour of you not trying to pop my head off. Until then, we can always chat.” Margit was starting to get a headache, a surprising feat given the projection generally didn’t do that. “About what would thou speak? Thine desire for the throne? I’ve no need to hear of it, i can surmise.” The hero had the nerve to look hurt. “I’ll have you know i have a wonderful personality.” At his unconvinced look, Felix sighed. “I don’t want the throne. If i did, I could very well have just fought my way through gods know what to the Erd tree and... done whatever you do to actually become Lord. Don’t give me that look, the on-boarding information for Tarnished is basically ‘you died, we need a lord, go get runes and good luck’. Not exactly a compelling reason to take on all that responsibility.” Margit scoffed at that. “And what know you of responsibility?” Felix settled back into the plush of the couch and raised an eyebrow. “Have you ever heard of a place called Albion? No? Thought not, i had to get teleported here. I imagine the usual routs would take ages. Well, back there i’m a prince. Well, was. Probably the strange great-great-grand uncle that went missing in the desert once, now. My point being, I had to sit through every lesson my mother could think up on how to run the kingdom should something happen to my older brother. I was also expected to oversee the oversight of the education system.” At his rather blank look, Felix clicked his tongue. “I keep forgetting that’s not... common. My mother, the queen, instituted this thing called required education--everyone had to learn their letters and basic mathematics by age ten. Proper schooling, like history and advanced arithmetic and the sciences were the business of smaller academies you could attend during the winter, so farming villages didn’t have to feed their children during the lean months. And i could hardly make sure everything was running smoothly without having gone and seen it on the inside, and then I spent years at--” Margit couldn’t tell if he was interested in what the other man was saying or if he was simply speaking too quickly for him to do anything but pay attention. He wondered, idly, if he’d managed to be trapped in a room with the one tarnished that seemed to actually have been in charge of something, while also being incapable of shutting up about it. Felix had jumped topics to going on about some place called Brightwall when Margit’s tail betray his annoyance by thumping against the floor. He froze as the other man trailed off, flushing a deep red. The hero cleared his throat. “Right, pardon me. I’ve not let you talk.” They stared at one another in silence before he tried again. “We could talk about magic. It’s the holy energy of the Erd tree that you use, yes? For your knives and hammer? How do you do it?” Margit let out a sigh and resisted the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose. “Tis simply incantation.” “Incantation? But you hardly spoke during our fight!” He stroked at his beard and hummed. “Fascinating.... Didn’t know that could be silent.” “Tis what is needed.” He glanced at the other man’s hands, noting the deep red gauntlets that covered them. “Thine magic is strange as well. I’ve not seen its kin before.” “Oh it’s nothing special, just will magic.” He waved the hand not toying with his facial hair. “I want there to be fire or lightning and there it is. The gloves help, though. Mother could do blades, quite like your knives. Hers were blue, though.” He reserved comment on the gloves, content to let the other man give him far more information. “Glintstone, then?” “Oh no, it was will in her blood.” He flexed his fingers and eyed Margit over for a second. “Knowing i can will these things doesn’t help, you know. By the fifth time we fought you’d already worked out how i fought and i still won.” “Hm.” “I do want to apologize for killing you, by the way.” This got Margit to tilt his head. His tone was genuine, though he looked more bemused than particularly sorrowful. “Had i known we’d be working together now, i’d have tried talking a bit more.” “I was not of the mind to listen.” Margit shifted his grip on his walking stick and sniffed. “And that remains to be seen, tarnished.” “Felix.” “What?” “My name. It’s Felix. Pleasure to formally meet you.” He gave a jaunty wave and grinned at Margit’s lack of reaction. “And i think we can manage to put our differences aside long enough to work something out. We’re both negotiating on the behalf of someone else, after all.” “We shall see.”
