Zeytin yağında kızarmış kırmızı biberin kokusunu, şafak vakti durgun denize yağan yağmurları, açık pencerenin kenarında bir an bir kadının belirişini, sessizlikleri, düşünmeyi ve sabrı severim. Kendime inanırım ve çoğu zaman benim hakkımda söylenenlere aldırmam.

11. Hamam: Il Bagno Turco
English title: Steam: The Turkish Bath
IMDB synopsis: “Francesco and Marta are husband and wife running a small design company in Rome. When Francesco's long forgotten Aunt Anita dies in Istanbul, he travels there to look after the sale of the hamam (one of a few traditional Turkish baths left) he inherited. There he meets the family running the hamam, gets attracted to a member of it and the whole Turkish atmosphere and decides not to sell the hamam.”
Languages: Italian and Turkish, with English subtitles available
Release: 1997
Director: Ferzan Ozpetek
Actors: Alessandro Gassman (Transporter 2), Francesca d'Aloja, Mehmet Günsür
This film truly is a beautifully written work. It is marketed as gay erotica, but it really isn't. It does include a gay romance, and while that is an important element in the film, it is not the focus of the story.
In fact my brother and sister did not believe there was a romance between Francesco and Mehmet until this scene. My sister even started to argue, "They're just sharing a cigarette... naked and on top of each other... but that doesn't mean-- Oh."
