I low-key like that even tho you can't see it with game camera, Selûnite Shads actually looks at Gale. With Sharran route yes, you can see her face better without playing around with camera, but the Selûnite one looks like one of the rare instances of Galeheart legit interacting.

But Gale and Shadowheart are meant for each other. From their stories and character traits to their wishes for the future and even their symbolism, everything about them points to Galeheart being canon. I don't care what the fandom has to say; they were made for each other. Periodt.

Their relationship is the healthiest pairing to exist. They grow through one another, for one another, and with one another. Despite facing indoctrination, grooming, abuse, and other traumas, they still stand strong. When they meet, they learn from each other, grow together, and become one. They defy Mystra, Shar, and Selune with their love and happiness.

Imagine them in a quiet, domestic life: Gale teaching his students while Shadowheart tends to their animals and garden. In the evening, they cook together (keeping Shadowheart away from the kitchen), play with their kids, and enjoy family time. Gale reads her favorite poems on their terrace in Waterdeep during sunset.

Shadowheart, having lost everything—her family, faith, and home—finally finds what she's always wanted with Gale: a family, a home, and love.

She shows her love for him daily, while Gale surprises her with night orchids. Their life together is wholesome and filled with happiness.

I said something similar under someone else's post regarding Gale and Shadowheart, but I wanted to say it again on my own post. Gale essentially gushes over Shadowheart in the same way Astarion gushes over Wyll. This is why Wyllstarion and Galeheart are two of the best ships. Every ship is a valid ship and Larian did well with how romanceable all the party characters feel with each other, the chemistry they all have.

And.

Larian did something to the core of my being with the way they wove parallels into Gale & Shadowheart's wounds. Now, forgive me, I don't have screencaps, BUT

The way that both believe these wounds are their fault, and that penance is the only thing that will ease this pain for good.

The way that both believe these wounds are because of mistakes they are both making now, and mistakes they made in youth, when really all they are is markers of (chronic) pain due to abuse. And the ways that trauma can manifest as illness, and that the crushing thing about that is that trauma survivors then blame themselves for not being enough for others (sound like a certain wizard we know??)

And how, when he finally opens his mind to her (the tadpole does NOT connect your minds involuntarily), it is with a hand over his heart. (I have to look again but I am 99% certain it is her wounded hand)

But it goes beyond that, because of course it does. And here's where the diabolical geniuses at Larian get me.

Gale's sex scene, on a Shadowheart origin. The first thing she does to him is lean into (and kiss????) his orb scar.

And the first way that he introduces her to Sparkly Weave Pleasure™ is by taking her wounded hand in his and channeling what is ostensibly a very good feeling through it.

There's something here about recognizing and tending the wounds in each other, and turning them into sources of goodness and strength. Something about surviving and healing from trauma and being rid of that pain — eventually, potentially after years of enduring it — together.

Anyway I'm not normal about them!!!!!! Where're my galeheart girlies at!!!!!!

Gale really is poetic and I’m screaming, crying, throwing up. As a Galeheart shipper this makes my heart so happy. Gale is straight up saying he thinks Shadowheart is beautiful and it’s just so fitting. Ugh. I love this ship so much. Also the way he says all of this, and the way he wistfully looks up at the sky as he talks about her. The man has a crush and you can’t deny it.
