They said the worst part about being in an accident was sitting there and watching everything happen around you. Knowing there was no way to stop it. And that was exactly how seeing the blog notification felt. How scrolling desperately to find her name (and hoping it wasn’t there) felt. How reading each word and knowing that the whole campus knew felt. Like watching your life flash before your eyes with no way to pull it back. And all she wanted was to be alone, so she did her best attempt at blending in - hair pulled back, face freckled and makeup free, heels nowhere to be found. Sitting in the one place on campus she avoided like the plague - the Flicke orchard - doing the one thing she knew she could do and feel something. Scream. open @gallagherstart​

     “it’s a shame about the gossip blog, really.” he begins, smoke escaping as he speaks. “i feel bad for stacy, she’s out of a job now.” before landon had been a complete hermit, but after his small visit to the courthouse, he’s done better because really, he doesn’t know how long he’ll be at gallagher. “i would share, but⎯⎯ i kinda need it,” landon adds before bringing the joint back up to his lips.

Despite everything that has been happening Owen is still mainly dedicating himself to his studies. It’s the reason he is at Gallagher in the first place and he wouldn’t add his parents to the list of people that he has let down. Everything seems to be burning down around him but at the library it still feels the same as usual. Normally he’s able to avoid having to talk to anyone but his eyes lift from his book once he realizes there’s someone standing at his table, clearly waiting for him to react. “Umh, can I help you?”

– LUCKILY, THE GYM’S PRETTY EMPTY IN THE LATEST HOURS OF THE NIGHT, technically morning maybe, and it’s easy to get the back room with the mats to herself. it’s been a long time since she’s danced, and she has to be really careful about the pressure that she puts on her ankle, but with no one watching it’s easy to get caught up in the music for a little while. she can remember why she loved in the first place, just her and the song. there’s a light, effortless feeling that comes with knowing the moves and allowing muscle memory to take you. until she realizes that it’s NOT just her and the music. she loses her place and stumbles slightly on her bad ankle, catching herself against the wall. “ oh, goodness, ” she cringes, “ how long have you been standing there ? ”

per usual, margot is completely unaffected by the gallagher drama, if that’s even a powerful enough word for it at this point, and she’s certainly not nosy enough to go looking at what everyone’s dirty laundry is. so she’s just kind of assuming everyone’s in the book, and minding her business. “do you want a cookie?” she asks the person beside her. “it’s a snickerdoodle.” sugar doesn’t solve everything but like, she can try.

“how many of the graduates are gonna be hungover out of their fucking minds tomorrow?” yara asks as she grabs a flute of champagne, pretty sure it’s her third, not really counting. she doesn’t feel drunk yet, is surprising herself by how much fun she’s having, how much more relaxed she feels tonight than at any other gallagher. “like... is someone gonna puke?”

it’d be almost laughable if she had any sort of self deprecating humor inside of her, but instead it just feels cruel. as if it’s not already a bit isolating to be at a spy school in a wheelchair, surrounded by some of the most physically strong people in the world, now she’s also the poor girl who’s only paralyzed because her assassin father got her kidnapped. again, almost laughable. she’s touching up her makeup in a compact in the dining hall when a shadow crosses as someone stands in front of her, and when she looks up there’s a hardness to her face, daring anyone to try and feel sorry for her. “perfect, i was just checking myself. do i have any lipstick on my teeth?” and she gives them a dazzling smile.

it’s a few months difference that stops luna from throwing every possession she owns into a suitcase. her mother is safe now, she has to believe that promise has been kept, so her main issue now is the absolutely disconcerting experience of being perceived. she’s always so intentionally vague about where she’s from and what brought her to gallagher, and now it’s just sort of… there. she chose a horrible time to dye her hair a bright color. but she wants to be sensitive to her classmates who have had their present exposed, not their past, so she won’t complain, instead resisting the urge to lie and say the open spot across from her in the library is taken. “it’s available, if you need a seat,” she offers softly.
