2015–2021: Ang Probinsyano and critical success
In early 2015, he starred in a Philippine fantasy-drama anthology WansapanaSummer entitled "Yamishita's Treasures" alongside his leading lady Julia Montes. He also appeared in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya co-starring Angel Locsin and Ejay Falcon that was dedicated to the memory of Special Action Force members killed in the Mamasapano clash.
In September 2015 with an ensemble cast, Martin starred in his most successful television series to date, the TV adaptation of the late Fernando Poe Jr.'s film FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, .To portray the role, he had to train in martial arts such as Kickboxing, Arnis, and MMA.The program was originally set as a year-long series, but due to its continuous success and consistent top rating, it was extended indefinitely and finally ended on August 12, 2022. The longest-running television series, it lasted from September 28, 2015, to August 12, 2022, with a total of 1,696 episodes.Martin was given a certificate of appreciation for his portrayal of a highly dedicated CIDG Police officer. The citation was given during the 63rd Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Founding Anniversary. On 14 September 2016, Surigao congressman Robert Ace Barbers filed House Resolution No. 358 at the 17th Congress of the Philippines which commended the show for its efforts to promote crime awareness and prevention among viewers and endorsed Martin as "Celebrity Advocate for a Drug-Free Philippines."However, in 2018, the Philippine National Police (PNP) withdrew its support for "Ang Probinsyano" following its negative portrayal of the PNP in the television series.PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Bong Durana said that an internal memorandum, signed by Director General Eduardo Garado, chief of the PNP Community Relations, was issued ordering all units, offices and personnel to refrain from assisting the producers of the series. In response to this, ABS-CBN has drafted a Memorandum of Understanding and has submitted it to the PNP for its comment, leading to a meeting with Martin, ABS-CBN Management, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año along with PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde to resolve the issues. Due to the success of Ang Probinsyano, Martin was dubbed as the "King of Philippine Television" by various press and given numerous awards including the "Fernando Poe, Jr. Memorial award" at the 63rd FAMAS.In the same year, Martin starred in the film You're My Boss with Toni Gonzaga and in his second MMFF entry, Beauty and the Bestie with Vice Ganda, the third highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
In 2016, he starred with superstar Nora Aunor in an indie film titled Padre de Familia directed by Adolf Alix Jr.The film was based on Martin's experiences working overseas. It premiered at selected cinemas in Europe and the Middle East via The Filipino Channel. In the same year, he starred in his third Metro Manila Film Festival entry, The Super Parental Guardians, along with Vice Ganda and Awra Briguela under Star Cinema. It was the second-highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
In 2017, Martin launched his own production company, CCM Productions, and had his first directorial and producer debut in the film Ang Panday, a 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry. The role was first popularized by late actor Fernando Poe Jr., hence, making it the second time Martin will portray one of his roles. In 2018, he produced another film Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles, a 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry and starred alongside GMA Network artists Maine Mendoza and Vic Sotto. In 2019, he produced, wrote, directed and starred in the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry 3pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon! with Jennylyn Mercado and Ai-Ai delas Alas.

Gawad Urian 2017 Predictions
Tumblr media
photo grabbed from: http://www.rappler.com/entertainment/31595-live-blog-36th-gawad-urian
Dubbed as the Philippine version of the British Academy of Film and Television Awards and the Oscars (then again, why  does there have to be a Western counterpart to every Filipino original), the prestigious Gawad Urian comes back to celebrate the best of Filipino films once more, now reaching its glorious 40th year of ceremony. The judges are composed of a number of Filipino National Artists such as Bienvendio Lumbera, among others, and notable film critics such as Tito Valiente, all of whom can collectively be called the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP). This past year has been a spectacle for Filipino films as the nominees of the Gawad Urian have been multi-award-winning works in film festivals both local and foreign. I have seen almost all of the films nominated only by happenstance that I get to catch them in the theatres where they would have only about one to three days of screening only to be replaced by a Western film that would earn probably 10 times more than these independent films. However, this does not tamper with the quality (and, in a better world, the popularity) of these Filipino films that boasts rich narratives made by our own Filipino filmmakers. What I shall do is to assess, the way I see it, which film would most likely nag each of the awards; nonetheless, we must never forget that the film that wins the award does not necessarily indicate that it is better than the others; all of these films share a unique quality to their creative aspects and should be given the credit that they deserve given that they have been among the nominees of the Gawad Urian this year. Now, without further ado, let us venture into the best of this year’s Filipino Cinema (as seen by the MPP).
 Best Sound
And the nominees are:
Hinulid, Mark Laccay
Women of the Weeping River, Albert Michael Idioma & Immanuel Verona
Ang Babaeng Humayo, Corinne De San Jose, Mark Locsin & Che Villanueva
Pamilya Ordinaryo, Albert Michael Idioma & Emmanuel Verona
Ma Rosa, Albert Michael Idioma
Paglipay, Andrew Milallos
Baboy Halas, Willie Apa, Jr. & Charlie Daclan
It is arguable, questionable even, whether foley artists from the other films deserve the award more in this battle of the sound than the sound recordists whose recordings are the diegetic (natural) sounds. Even thinking of assessing their mixing is difficult enough for me. But what I do know is that Hinulid has missed my watchlist this year, but I have a friend who was there to tell me all about it, and I’ll just trust his word: Hinulid has crisp sound. As for the other nominees, I prefer choosing as my top three choices Ang Babaeng Humayo, for its foley, also dubbed as sound editing or in layman’s terms the “making of the sound”, that sets the tone of the whole film, even in the silence that is marked by the cutting of the sound, notable in the air-videoke performance scene between Hollanda and Horacia as they were singing happily in the living room, Pamilya Ordinaryo, for capturing the rawness and grittiness of the sound of the streets and the despair that comes with it (better than Ma Rosa did), and Baboy Halas, for captivating the audience with the sounds of the forest and nature by carefully placing the microphone to record the hymn of the far-flung places deep into the woods of Mindanao and into the heart of the indigenous community.
Will win: Baboy Halas
Could win: Ang Babaeng Humayo
Best Music
And the nominees are:
Paglipay, Gian Gianan
Women of the Weeping River, Kit Mendoza
Saving Sally, Pablo Pico
Pauwi Na, Pike Ramirez, Paolo Villaluna & Veena Ramirez
Tuos, Jema Pamintuan
I’m going say this first and foremost of all: I don’t remember much of the music used in each of the nominees. To be perfectly honest, the trouble I have with this category is that music taste is completely arbitrary and different between individuals, that’s why I would assess the music by how it was incorporated into the film more than the actual score and arrangement.  Probably the best scores, in my opinion, are Saving Sally and Tuos, where the former builds on a rom-com vibe whereas the latter centered on the solemnity of Filipino folk music. Narrative-wise, both scores have been blended well up to the point of karmic duty to the audience for a wonderful audio-visual experience.
Will win: Tuos
Could win: Saving Sally
Best Editing
And the nominees are:
Women of the Weeping River, Carlo Francisco Manatad
Ma Rosa, Diego Marx Dobles
Pauwi Na, Ellen Ramo & Paolo Villaluna
Ang Babaeng Humayo, Lav Diaz
Pamilya Ordinaryo, Carlo Francisco Manatad
Paglipay, Zig Madamba Dulay
Die Beautiful, Benjamin Gonzales Tolentino
I have not seen Pauwi Na but I heard that it’s good but the editing is just basic. The others in this category I definitely can comment about; however, the picks I have to place above all else are Die Beautiful, my prediction for  MMFF 2016 Best Editing which lost to arguably last year’s best Filipino documentary Sunday Beauty Queen, and Pamilya Ordinaryo, which won best editing in last year’s acclaimed Cinemalaya 2017. Perhaps the better thing to say is that in my book, both could easily be tied for the position, with Die Beautiful’s non-linear editing that contributes to the power of its story-telling, and Pamilya Ordinaryo’s easy cuts from one pain to another whilst including inside the  frames the poverty in the streets through the lens of CCTV camera footages; nevertheless, I placed Die Beautiful just a little ways up the road simply because I wouldn’t pass on an unconventional narrative tool that it used: telling the story in an uncouthed fashion (and give Benjamin Tolentino his Urian already! Recall his editing works in the masterpiece Transit and Dagitab, both from Cinemalaya, one from 2013 and 2014, respectively).
Will win (hopefully): Die Beautiful
Could win: Pamilya Ordinaryo
Best Production Design
And the nominees are:
Ma Rosa, Dante Mendoza
Die Beautiful, Angel Diesta
Ned's Project, John Paul Sapitula
Women of the Weeping River, Harley Alcasid
Pamilya Ordinaryo, Harley Alcasid
Paglipay, Aped Santos
Saving Sally, Erik Manalo & Rommel Laquian
Hinulid, Ryan Cuatrona & Celine Belino
Baboy Halas, Joel Geolamen
I was surprised to the core when I found out that Ang Babaeng Humayo and Seklusyon was excluded from the nominees because period dramas are raining on everyone’s parade in this category for the previous Urian awards (save for last year’s Water Lemon a surprise win for the coveted art department prize). This year, no period drama is even on that list! And there aren’t even notable winners from Filipino film festival’s Best Production Design on this very list (recall, Tuos from Cinemalaya 2016 and Tisay from CinemaOne Originals)! Excitement aside, I feel as though there are a lot of strong choices in this category, especially since I, myself, am now recalling Women of the Weeping River, the film I watched with my uncle the previous year: I never remembered it until this category and how raw it is as it boasts the narrative of land-grabbing and clan wars in Mindanao.  I just have to make shots in the dark and choose as the leads Hinulid and Die Beautiful.
Will win: Hinulid
Could win: literally any film on the category because that’s how confusing this set of  nominees are
Best Cinematography
And the nominees are:
Women of the Weeping River, Rommel Sales
Ang Babaeng Humayo, Lav Diaz
Ma Rosa, Odyssey Flores
Paglipay, Albert Banzon
Pamilya Ordinaryo, Albert Banzon
Baboy Halas, Raphael Meting & Mark Limbaga
Tuos, Mycko David
Yet another surprise! Ma Rosa is on the list! Why is it another surprise, one might ask. Well, the film “intentionally” mimics the shakiness of a handheld camera and puposefully does it the whole film: it being a directorial decision is just the distasteful icing on top of the cake.  All the other cinematography nominees are not surprises, in contrast. However, I have to put as one of my predictions Ang Babaeng Humayo simply because Diaz placed the camera in such a way that incorporates everything that is happening within the frames of his film. Another is Tuos’ Mycko David who won best cinematography for last year’s Cinemalaya and whose works speak for themselves (Kasal (2014) and Children’s Show (2014)).  And last but not the least, and my personal favorite and bet, Baboy Halas with first time cinematographer Raphael Meting and well-known director of photography Mark Limbaga; in addition, the director of Baboy Halas is the amazing Director Of Photography turned director Bagane Fiola, this film had the perfect ‘matog’ (cinematography) ensemble! And what came out is a smooth and powerful handling of the camera.
Will win: Baboy Halas
Could win: Tuos
Long shot: Ang Babaeng Humayo
 Best Screenplay
And the nominees are:
Ned's Project, John Bedia
Pauwi Na, Paolo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos
Women of the Weeping River, Sheron Dayoc
Paglipay, Zig Madamba Dulay
Ma Rosa, Troy Espiritu
Patay na si Hesus, Fatrick Tabada
Ang Babaeng Humayo, Lav Diaz
Pamilya Ordinaryo, Eduardo Roy, Jr.
This is the most interesting list of nominees for best screenplay that I have seen in my years of following the Gawad Urian. We have a plethora of great narratives and great dialogue and great screenplay. Some may not be as serious as the others but that is what makes this an interesting group. I remember laughing my heart out watching the first half of the film Patay na si Hesus ironically enough since the title denotes something sad, but I was unable to finish it so I’m not so sure. Usually comedies are my choice for best screenplay and my most favorite prediction was last year’s Mercury is Mine a dark comedy which won best screenplay for Cinemalaya 2016 (and I’m still wondering why it isn’t included in this quasi-perfect list of nominees). If one checks the previous winners of this Gawad Urian category, which I did, one will find a long list of serious-toned films that boasts its narrative and characters, rather than the laughs it has given, and this year is no different (my year of predicting comedy to win this is still in hold, I am yet to look for the right opportunity). Instead we turn to Urian favorite Lav Diaz (who won around 2-3 times in this category) and Troy Espiritu who wrote for Brillante Mendoza. What we get are two amazing screenplays, one fit for the current drug war in the Philippines and one another dragging yet bountiful gender sensitive harvest from Lav Diaz. I must admit when I was watching the latter, I felt bored most of the time, but instead I focused on the dialogue and narrative. Personally, Ma Rosa would be my bet narrative-wise but there is a magic in Lav Diaz’s Humayo that speaks more than volumes and can only be understood upon watching. The other favorites of mine are Pamilya Ordinaryo and Women of the Weeping River.
 Will Win: Ang Babaeng Humayo
Could win: Ma Rosa
Long shot: Women of the Weeping River or Paglipay
In an ideal world (personal favorite but I don’t think it would win): Pamilya Ordinaryo
 Best Supporting Actress
And the nominees are:
Rhed Bustamante, Seklusyon
Barbie Forteza, Tuos
Sharifa Pearlsia     Ali-Dans, Women of the Weeping River
Anna Luna, Paglipay
Joan Dela Cruz, Paglipay
Lui Manansala, Ned's     Project
Lotlot de Leon, MRS
Meryll Soriano, Pauwi     Na
Janine Gutierrez, Dagsin
Mariam     Zimadar Haji Caranay Raper – Women of the Weeping River
Who would’ve thought that Barbie Forteza would be in this category? Because I’m sure I didn’t. Her acting was just simply okay in Tuos. Another unexpected nominee is Rhed Bustamante, the Maria child in Seklusyon (my wild guess as to why she’s here is because she had inappropriate lines spoken in the film yet was delivered convincingly). And, wow, look at Lotlot De Leon in this list! Her acting in MRS is as great as it sounds. Along with her on top are Sharifa Pearlsia Ali-Dans and Mariam Zimadar Haji Caranay Raper from Women of the Weeping River simply because they have a character whose sketch is written for them which they flawlessly portrayed.
Will win: Lotlot De Leon from MRS
Could win: Sharifa Pearlsia Ali-Dans or Mariam Zimadar Haji Caranay Raper from Women of the Weeping River
Best Supporting Actor
And the nominees are:
Taha Daranda, Women of     the Weeping River
Christian Bables, Die     Beautiful
Jess Mendoza, Hinulid
John Lloyd Cruz, Ang     Babaeng Humayo
Nonie Buencamino, Ang     Babaeng Humayo
Julio Diaz, Ma Rosa
Another great list of artists and first time actors alike. Julio Diaz added that rawness and grittiness of a character to identify with even though he is easily judged upon first glance. And we must not forget Christian Bables’ amazing portrayal of a pained homosexual bestfriend in Die Beautiful who is equally matched by another portrayal of a transgender by John Lloyd Cruz in Ang Babaeng Humayo. Also in this list is the magbabalut played by Nonie Buencamino whose presence in the film as a quasi-confidant is essentially one of the most important characters in the film. Another critically acclaimed character is one played by Taha Daranda who won as the best supporting actor in QCinema 2016 for Women of the Weeping River. Who do I chose?
Will win (only by a few marks from the second): Christian Bables from Die Beautiful
Could win: John Lloyd Cruz from Ang Babaeng Humayo
In an ideal world: Taha Daranda from Women of the Weeping River
 Best Actress
And the nominees:
Nora Aunor, Hinulid
Laila Ulao, Women of     the Weeping River
Jaclyn Jose, Ma Rosa
Cherry Pie Picache, Pauwi     Na
Ai Ai delas Alas, Area
Charo Santos, Ang     Babaeng Humayo
Elizabeth Oropesa, MRS
Irma Adlawan, ORO
Hasmine Kilip, Pamilya     Ordinaryo
The list of nominees in this category has got me tumbling up and down, left and right, and in all impossible directions. This is the list that nailed the game and pitted the best against the best, both veteran and new. Laila Ulao from Women of the Weeping River and Hasmine Kilip from Pamilya Ordinaryo, both fresh from the new actresses pool have each won best actress categories in their main film festivals from last year. And here comes veterans Ai Ai delas Alas, used to portraying happy characters, have come in this year’s list as she played a depressed brothel-head and used up all her tears, and Cherry Pie Picache for Pauwi Na, playing a supportive mother. Best actress winners and veterans are also in this list, Irma Adlawan from Oro won in MMFF 2016 and Elizabeth Oropesa from MRS has won in Sinag Maynila 2016. In addition to those overwhelming wins, Jaclyn Jose’s Palme D’or is not some ignorable trophy for best actress too! From this pool is the multiple Urian-nominated actress Charo Santos who is yet to get an award as her ticket for this year is her acting prowess for her character Horacia in Ang Babaeng Humayo. Last but not the least, is multiple-award-winning actress Nora Aunor for Hinulid. How do I choose between them? Only God knows how. The only problem I have with this list is that Pokwang isn’t here for her convincing acting in Mercury is Mine, one of my favorite films from last year’s run.
Will win ( but, literally anyone has a great chance but my guess, which is also a long shot at best, is): Hasmine Kilip from Pamilya Ordinaro
Could win: ANYONE NOMINATED THIS YEAR FOR THIS CATEGORY!
Best Actor
And the nominees are:
Tommy Abuel, Dagsin
Bembol Roco, Pauwi Na
Garry Cabalic, Paglipay
Khalil Ramos, 2 Cool 2     Be 4gotten
Paolo Ballesteros, Die     Beautiful
Ronwaldo Martin, Pamilya     Ordinaryo
Pepe Smith, Singing in     Graveyards
I did not expect Pepe Smith to be in this category! Add to that is the shock in knowing that Khalil is nominated for this prestigious award, not that  he doesn’t deserve it but I just didn’t see it coming (at all). But what rises up from this pool, better than the rest, is Paolo Ballesteros for his rightful portrayal in Die Beautiful. And, perhaps a little inches below him , is Tommy Abuel and his protruding character from Dagsin.
Will win: Paolo Ballesteros from Die Beautiful
Could win: Tommy Abuel from Dagsin
In an ideal world: Ronwaldo Martin from Pamilya Ordinaryo
 Best Director
And the nominees are:
Brilliante Mendoza, Ma'     Rosa
Eduardo W. Roy, Jr., Pamilya     Ordinaryo
Zig Madamba Dulay, Paglipay
Lav Diaz, Ang Babaeng     Humayo
Bagane Fiola, Baboy     Halas
Paolo Villaluna, Pauwi     Na
Avid Liongoren, Saving     Sally
Sheron Dayoc, Women of     the Weeping River
Lemuel Lorca, Ned's     Project
This long list is as powerful as it can get. A battle between auteur directors Lav Diaz and Brillante Mendoza against the newest wave of indie filmmakers such as Lem Lorca, Eduardo Roy Jr., Zig Dulay, and Shero Dayoc! Truly this is a spectacle. The way I would judge is not based on the narrative but instead on the director’s control over the totality of the film: how the film language is translated directly to screen, and how the elements come across each other in ominous ways. What rises above is, of course, veterans Lav Diaz, whose signature long shots, dragging yet powerful story, and a long end mark (almost 4 hours! The shortest full length he has made in his years of filmmaking) is present, and with that on the same spectrum is Brillante Mendoza’s poverty-infused narrative that coalesces the realism in each frame, and the ‘signature’ shakiness of footage (it is perplexing why he had to do this). What comes close but not quite there yet are Zig Dulay since his story speaks well to a gravity that is not so in-your-face that was achieved with just the right amount of control, and with him is Eduardo Roy Jr. and his translation of a narrative that takes courage and patience. But, it really is such a bummer than even with my analysis, as hard as I can scrutinize it in detail, the list of winners in this category is a truly unpredictable batch of individuals, underdogs, in some cases. So I would go by saying that I would rather a new director win than these veterans, and I really hope they do!
Will win: Zig Dulay for Paglipay
Could win: Eduardo Roy Jr. for Pamilya Ordinaryo
 Best Picture
And the nominees are:
Pamilya Ordinaryo
Paglipay
Ang Babaeng Humayo
Women of the Weeping River
Ma'Rosa
Baboy Halas
This is my favorite award, and it couldn’t be more obvious. In choosing a best picture, I include my own personal biases as a large part in choosing rather than analysis of previous winners and that’s how I plan to choose. I base it on overall impact, social relevance, and personal taste. Instead of doing the usual would win and could win, I would rank them all in order of my predictions, one being the best of the bunch and six being theleast of the bunch.
1.      Pamilya Ordinaryo
2.      Paglipay
3.      Ma Rosa
4.      Baboy Halas
5.      Ang Babaeng Humayo
6.      Women of the Weeping River

[PR] Nadine Lustre is new GCash endorser
The country’s favorite young artist and model Nadine Lustre is the new face of the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, GCash.
Tumblr media
The multi-awarded actress headlines GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign to power the dreams of young adults who constantly want to do more, to expand possibilities, and to achieve beyond their own expectations.
“Nadine is the perfect fit for GCash because she represents the true aspirations of young adults and is at that point in her life where taking charge of your finances is becoming more important. She shows how young adults can be independent and take charge of their own lives, and with the help of GCash, “What Can’t You Do?” means so much more,” Chris Manguera, Chief Marketing Officer at Mynt, which runs GCash, said.
After starting out as a singer in a pop band, Lustre evolved to become a much-sought-after actress on TV, with her primetime hits "On The Wings of Love" (2015) and "Till I Met You" (2016).
The 25-year-old actress has fared as well on the big screen, winning the Best Actress awards from Young Critics Circle, FAMAS Awards and the Gawad Urian Awards in 2019 for  hit movie, “Never Not Love You.” Her latest film, “Indak,” a dance musical movie, shows Lustre’s flexibility as an actress.
Early this year, one of world’s biggest fast fashion brands, H&M, launched Lustre as its first Filipino ambassador. The actress, named by a top magazine as Sexiest Woman in 2017, has her own line of swimwear with H&M.
“She has built her brand and can create the image of a lifestyle that everyone will want to follow. We hope for that to happen with GCash as well,” Manguera said. “We also want to activate her big fan base to help spread the word of financial inclusion and empowerment.”
Lustre, who was voted Artist of the Year and Favorite Female Artist at the Myx Music Awards 2019, is a social media savant who has 6.8 million followers on Instagram.
GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign pushes the limits of what mobile phones can do for young adults with its innovative financial services accessible through mobile. With over 50,000 partner merchants and 20 million users, GCash remains the country’s leading mobile wallet.
Like Lustre, who has won over the entire country  and has kept everyone’s attention throughout the years by relentlessly adapting to change, GCash continues to evolve not just as digital platform but as a lifestyle brand.

My 3 chosen Field of Expertise/  Social Media  Influencers

NEWS ANCHOR
The last field of expertise that I chose is News Anchor and for me, one of the influencer is MIKE ENRIQUEZ or  .Miguel Castro Enriquez (born on September 29, 1951, Santa Ana, Manila), also known as Mike Enriquez, is a Filipino television and radio newscaster. He is also the Consultant for radio operations of GMA Network, and president of the network's regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM. ..
He started his career in broadcasting as a staff announcer at the Manila Broadcasting Company in 1969. It began when he visited a friend in that company and accidentally discovered his interest in radio.[1] He has since worked in various positions, as a broadcast reporter, a news editor, program director, and station manager, until he became manager of a medium-sized radio network.
He also had stints in other radio networks such as Freedom Broadcasting Radio Network and Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), where he became vice president for the company. He was the man behind the huge success of DWKC 93.9, which stayed in the number 1 spot for so many years before he left in 1995. He is the voice behind the Mellow Touch 94.7 signature and introduction.[1] He also became a disc jockey known as "Baby Michael" and he played a cameo role as a disc jockey in Andrew E.'s 1992 movie Mahirap ang Maging Pogi (It's Not Easy Being Handsome).
Mike Enriquez was one of my best anchor for me because he has a gifted voice given by GOD, i love his modulated and husky voice and the way he delivered his report on TV News Caster it is very nice.
Tumblr media
In general, i would say that its better to know your self of  “Who i am “  or “What can i do” as a person, we need to explore more ourselves because it would be easy to know of what field of expertise we belong as individual in this world where we are living. We can’t say that we don’t have a talent or expertise and the answers is no because  all of us have a field that we are good and expert, but there was a time that we are afraid to show our talents beacuse fears is always win. If we have a talent let it show to the world , do not hide of what you can do because it you no one can take your place or substitute of your life.
Right now, i really know of what field that i belong to. The field of expertise that i have was Dancing, Acting, being an anchor of Filipino Broadcasting and last is being a Good chef. I have full confident to showcase or shared my talents in front of many people, sometimes even if i have that confident the destroyer of all my talents was a Fear, a fear that push me not to do like for example the comments and reaction that i will recieve to others after doing my performance, to let this fear will not appear i would always thinks positively in order to achieve my goals and to be successful person, as what i said no one can take our place because its our individuals self no one can controlled us.

BLISS: On why this is my favourite film of 2017 (so far)
It’s been awhile since I was this affected by a film. It’s just the month of May but I could already say that Jerrold Tarog’s newest movie, Bliss, could be on my top 5 films of 2017 – if not the first.
They say Bliss is not a typical Filipino film, or typical indie. But what is typical Filipino and what is typical Indie anyway? Heck, this is not a typical film, period. It’s one of those rare masterpieces that would haunt you and be with you forever – at least that’s how it’ll be for me.
Beware: Spoilers ahead! If you haven’t seen the movie yet, back off. Close this window now.
MY RATING?
Tumblr media
In hindsight, Bliss is a film about different faces of abuse, but it is also many other things. It touches the fine line between dreamland and reality, and examines dreams or aspirations as mere illusions. I won’t go much further plot by plot and I won’t even summarize the movie, but i’ll just give 10 reasons why I think this is my favourite film of 2017 yet.
1. In general, why I love it:
Because it is wicked. It’s well-crafted. It’s a mindfuck. It’s deeply, as in deeply affecting… isn’t it obvious?
2. It brought me to tears:
The first time I watched this, I cried tears of joy during the end credits because of how lucky I felt for being able to watch such a brilliant film.
The second time, I was crying during the great reveal because I am that affected with Jane’s life. That cut to cut scene when Mommy J, Direk Lex, and Carlo were confronting each other outside Jane’s room while she was being molested broke me, I couldn’t stop crying even after I left the cinema after the credits rolled.
The third time, I was already crying halfway through the film because of how good Iza Calzado was in this movie. See next point below.
3. Iza Calzado:
If anyone out there would say that she wasn’t good for the role, show your face to me and I’ll erase it, no joke. In short, Iza Calzado was brilliant! She was so effective in portraying a spoiled actress, a burnt out individual, a clueless ignorant, a crazy paranoid, and a half-dead body. And don’t get me started on her stabbing scene cos that alone deserves a recognition. Give her that Gawad Urian already.
Tumblr media
Jane Ciego’s stabbing scene
4. Its genre as a thriller:
A typical filmmaker would keep this genre to drama, but nope. This film is a thriller, and it’s good at that. Let’s not mention the greatness of it’s direction and editing – both done by Jerrold Tarog. It is a scary film not just because of its treatment and its technical expertise, it is scary because it’s what’s happening in reality regardless of how mundane it seems. Those unnoticeable little things that could little by little kill us. It shows demons people battle: ourselves, people who use us, industry we are enslaved with, paranoia, anxiety, insanity, misery, and lost of identity.
5. Sound design:
Okay folks, we know the film is brilliant… but let’s pause for a moment and give the sound designer his much-deserved appreciation. Those noises you hear in the background, those heart beats, those clinks, and other necessary sound effects… Without those, the movie won’t be as effective. I am amazed with its sound design that I concentrated on this on my 3rd viewing.
6. A glimpse at different abuses:
Most obvious of all is sexual abuse. In this film, we see the mysterious nurse, Lilibeth abusing her patients and I am sure most people hated her for that. We all feel for Jane. We all wanted to stop the nurse. I would say I once wanted to be in the film and hug Jane with all her innocence. I am pretty sure we were all shocked, stunned at those jump scares of monster hands that just come out of nowhere - a typical feeling of abuse.
Abuse of industry. In the film, Jane is a star who’s been an actress since she was a child. Here we will meet Direk Lex, the very demanding director who abuses his staff, shoot for 30 hours straight, who showed no care at all at the welfare of his injured talent. All he thought about is fame and money: to promote the film and to win awards. Also in this film, we see how Jane is already so disoriented of who she really is. Is she still Jane or is she just another character in a film? This reminded me of an interview with Mercedes Cabral when she said she needs therapy every after filming to separate herself from the character she’s portraying. In Bliss, we see the extent of how your craft can abuse you physically, mentally, and emotionally, and see how daunting it could be.
Abuse of power. Mommy J, Jane’s stage mom also showed how abusive being a demanding mother could be. She wanted Jane to be a star and to keep her value in the market. She uses her because that’s the only way she knows how to survive – or rather to fulfill her luxurious dreams. Same goes for Lilibeth’s mom who even for a short time exposure in the film, showed us how frustrated and physically abusive she was when she forced her daughter to do something she does not like and therefore fucked up.
Emotional abuse. Here, we also see Carlo, Jane’s husband who financially messed up and uses his wife for money and uses another girl who is already too desperate to solve their personal problem to boost his crashing ego.
7. A love and hate relationship with Lilibeth:
You have to agree with me that even though we all hated Lilibeth, it is imperative to point out that her character is very important. When I watched this film for the fourth time, I grew sympathy for her that I even had tears for her at one point. She is a powerful character that implies that abuse is a contagious cycle which even made this thriller scarier. See, Lilibeth wasn’t singing Ikot ng Ikot for nothing. When she was sitting, singing and dancing this with her hands – that’s something I cannot unsee, it’s haunting. Her backstory is as mournful as Jane’s and we all need to step back a little to realize that.
8. Jane’s recurring dream:
Now this is one of my favourite scenes. At one point while having a break from set, Jane told her screen partner about her recurring dream as a child. It was about her mom showing her a box and a key, and although her mom said that the box contains nothing, Jane still wanted the key to find out what’s inside. She even had to stab her mom multiple times out of frustration of having the key, and when she was finally able to open the box, it indeed contains nothing.
This, I think is a metaphor for the illusion of happiness and fulfillment. People tend to focus on their dreams, even when sometimes they are no longer sure if what they are dreaming about is theirs or someone else’s. It is evident from the start of the film that Jane strives hard to reach the top regardless of how she gets there. Even Jane’s teenage hit song, “ikot ng ikot” is about aiming something that ends up on a vicious cycle of no contempt – thus the fantastical music arrangement implying fake happiness is just a game of make-believe. She needs to fulfill the goal, if she has to stab her mom with the key, she’ll do it, yet she still questions if this goal is hers or not. Maybe her mom’s? Maybe because it’s what her fans expect her to be? Everyone had a piece of her identity, her sense of fulfillment. This is the illusion, the box. The need to reach that dream, to open that box, and in the end realizing that the box is empty and everything is just an illusion of happiness.
youtube
Listen to Jane Ciego’s teenage hit song “Ikot ng Ikot”.
9. “Gusto ko lang matulog” I just want to sleep
It’s a very typical statement. Jane is tired of working and she just wanted to sleep. And towards the end of the film, we’ll feel this statement more because although she is physically dead, she is still mentally awake, but she can’t do anything about it. She can’t move, she can’t fight which is metaphorically shown through the wheelchair getting stuck at times. Jane would constantly utter this line throughout the movie, but at one point she would tell herself “wake up, wake up”, which gives us the perfect irony.
10. The awakening:
My friend once mentioned that she hopes Jane would never ever wake up because if she does and later on realizes all the abuses around her, she’d be more miserable. But to me, the awakening makes the ending even more powerful because it is about waking up physically, mentally, emotionally, and waking up from fantasy, realizing that what’s inside the box is just an illusion. What a great way to explain that indeed, “ignorance is bliss”.
Tumblr media
Here’s a picture of Jane when her soul is being sucked… yep that’s right.
Obviously, my love for this film is exceeding. I’ve seen it four times, and I think I need to see it again.
See the trailer here:

Disturbingly familiar: 'Buwan at Baril' reveals life under Martial Law
by  Rome Jorge Published 10:38 PM, February 04, 2017
A widow journeys to claim the corpse of her husband – a victim of extrajudicial killing. An indigenous woman cries for help to fellow countrymen who cannot even understand her words. A student is nabbed on the flimsiest of charges and brutalized by a policeman who was once an activist himself. An elderly farmer whose toil feeds a nation succumbs to hunger while joining a protest march. A socialite-cum-freedom fighter comes to understand that even at the barricades, her safety and comfort come at the expense of those with less in life.
These true-to-life vignettes are all part of Buwan at Baril, the play that Chris Millado, incumbent vice president and artistic director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, authored and premiered in 1985 during the Marcos dictatorship.
Buwan at Baril performs on February 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 at 3pm and at 8 pm with a special gala on February 3 at 8 pm. Aptly enough, the set is none other than Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco Auditorium at Bantayog ng mga Bayani Center – the monument for the victims of the Marcos dictatorship – located in Quezon Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
Buwan at Baril comes to life once again with a stellar cast:
Angeli Bayani, star of Cannes Film Festival winner Iloilo, plays the indigenous Itawis who narrates being an internal refugee fleeing a military-perpetrated massacre in the Cagayan Valley.
JC Santos, best known for his role in the telenovela Till I Met You, plays the priest who translates for the Itawis survivor.
Jackie Lou Blanco, who has won plaudits for stage roles in Tanghalang Pilipino’s Filipino interpretations of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Cyrano de Bergerac, plays the Coryista socialite who has come to realize that even at the barricades she is privileged with protection from students who take the truncheon blows for her.
Cherry Pie Picache, a cinematic icon who has won the Gawad Urian Best Actress of the Decade, plays the wife who must identify the body of her slain activist husband at the morgue.
Mayen Estañero, acclaimed theater actor, most esteemed for her roles in Himala and Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, alternates in the role of the wife.
Paolo O’Hara, freelance actor, plays the abusive police investigator who was once an anti-dictatorship activist before he became “practical.”
Joel Saracho, who starred in the Berlinale Silver Bear winner Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis, alternates as police investigator.
Ross Pesigan, with various television and theater credits, plays the student activist detained and abused by the police investigator.
Crispin Pineda, esteemed theater thespian known for his roles in St. Louis Loves Dem Filipinos, plays the elderly farmer who suffers even as protests his plight.
Reymund Domingo, who teaches theater at the Far Eastern University, plays the factory worker and veteran activist who has survived policemen's bullets and now cares for the farmer.
Danny Mandia, part of Manila Shakespeare Company's Romeo and Juliet, alternates as the factory worker.
This re-staging of Buwan at Baril is directed by Andoy Ranay and is the debut play of Sugid Productions.

“We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. They call us ‘game changers’, but really, it’s because the audience owned our vision. We want to make films that the Filipinos deserve. We want to produce movies that Filipinos will remember,” pahayag ni Mr. Rocha, isa sa tatlong main movers ng TBA Studios.
