i am insane. i am but a rabid dog. i am clawing, scratching, biting at the walls. i am shedding tears. i am throwing up. i am hooping, hollering, screaming, wallowing in my own filth. i need a moment.

Love how we were all convinced Kitty was allergic to pineapple and it turns out she was Spider-Man instead.

you’re kidding me. the show literally ends with Captain being gay about the weatherman. what a brilliant way to finish off this wonderful show. i’m gonna miss it :(

Thinking about how in Sorry's the Hardest Word, Captain apologises so formally and struggles as much as the rest of the ghosts to say sorry to Alison.
Tumblr media
And yet "I'm sorry" is the first thing he says to Havers after not seeing him for years. Apologising for disrupting the celebration, apologising for upsetting him, apologising for dying. Apologising for loving him. No airs, no neat military phrasing, no masking. Just "I'm sorry," simple as that.
I think that, really, says more than anything - that Havers was the only person he could be genuine around, that he could apologise to without the formal front that he put up during his life and still carries with him as a ghost. The only person who knows him well enough to see all of the meaning behind those two words, who doesn't see his love as a crime, who, in his last moments, tells him that it was fine, that he doesn't need to apologise, that he understands.
That he knows.

I think the final scene (specifically cap asking them to keep the TV on the weather) is somewhat quintessential to the queer experience bc many of us spend our lives stuck and scared of being out and when we finally do come out it feels like a massive weight's lifted and like (in my personal experience) you want to announce it to the heavens and it's sort of like you feel freer in a sense. it's such a great rep of queer joy and I love how the six idiots handled it

another thing about the ghosts finale that I haven't seen people talk about is that they pretty much ignored all of mike's anxieties about being a dad? like it wasnt even awknowledged that for all of S5 mikes been really worried about being a dad, let alone reassure those concerns
it wouldn't have been too hard to deal with either, just a quick scene where Mike is working himself up into a panic and rambling, and then either his mum or Alison say something like "mike. mike. MIKE. you're doing fine, okay? one step at a time"

WAIT HANG ON A MOMENT I HAVE SOME QUALMS ABOUT THE CAPTAINS DEATH
(ghosts s5 spoiler)
The entire happenstance of the captains death is entirely bullshit, they didnt let him into the house cause he didnt have any medals, right? WELL if i look here on the wikipedia page for british armed forces medals and campaign badges, "the War Medal was awarded to any individuals who served in the british military for 28 DAYS between 3 september 1939 - 2 september 1945."
BITCH HE DID!!!! there is a 100% chance he should of had ONE SINGULAR MEDAL at LEAST. NOT EVEN MENTIONING the defense medal, which he may have qualified for as well (not sure if that was for the army officers working in england, or just civillian volunteers in england at the time)
AND i find it highly unlikely that the captain had not been eligble for the 1939-1945 star as well (was originally called the 1939-1943 star) - the captain seems (to me at least) like he enlisted before the war, (though he would have missed the great war) it feels out of place to me that he would have been drafted immediately before/during the war given his position as a CO of button house in early-mid 1940. I spent way too long over analysing the medals Before we knew what they were and i will not let that bastard ben willbond (<3) stop me from over analysing them now.

Finding out the final episode of Ghosts is actually the Xmas Special and then immediately realising they'll base it on the fucking Nativity and Alison's gonna be birthing the sprout in a fucking barn or some shit and there's a donkey somehow.
