Andrew - I will live and die on the hill that is Andrew actually loving reading but the medication kind of made it impossible. I think Andrew is not the biggest fan of like 'main stream' books. Like he's read most of them but hasn't really found enjoyment in things that have broad public appeal (shocker). But things that are made like for a very specific audience (not even with Andrew as that audience) he will rinse through reading those.

A trashy romance that involves like 400 different facts about tea? He's there. A high fantasy story where they're using math to cast spells? Read the whole series in 2 days. He'll read anything Neil gets him because Neil is the #1 finder of unhinged book series with #2 being Allison who finds the most insane romance novels.

Matt - I think Matt is actually like super into hair care products. Like to the point that he is the one that his friends go to and are like "What should I use for /my/ hair?" and Matt is like hand on head immediately to figure out what would be best. (He does this to Andrew "ONCE" and for the rest of all time he remembers to ask.)

He doesn't give as much of a shit about styling other people's hair like Allison but like in terms of treatments / general maintenance there is no one better. Like Renee's hair needs a deep condition because she just re-did her dye job? Matt knows exactly which one she should be using. Nicky's hair isn't handling dry heat very well? Matt's coming in hot with the hot oil suggestion. Neil, upon everyone's demands, decides to stop using the 3-in-1 (Bodywash, shampoo, conditioner) and Matt is beside himself on his recommended next steps for his best bro getting healthy luscious hair (he so wants to tousle the curls he KNOWS Neil would have if his hair wasn't fucked to high heaven by over a decade of 3-in-1)

send a non-romantic pairing and an emote/word to the reblogger for their headcanons! i see a lot of ship-related ask memes so i wanted to make some that focus more on friendly things. some of these where written with duos in mind, others with trios/larger friend groups, but they should all work for either/or, I think! some questions imply romance outside of the pairing but none imply that the characters themselves are/have been romantically paired. divided into groups based on themes

GENERAL

🌘 Mario and Luigi

☼ - appearance headcanon (I assume it's this one)

Luigi is very tidy and mindful of his appearance. He's very proud of his carefully trimmed and combed moustache and hair. A fancy boi.

...except both he and Mario have the most stubborn cowlick ever seen on twins' head, and no matter how much he tries, he never manages to keep it down. He ended up giving up and just rolls with it when combing his hair, but when he and Mario bicker he's quick to claim Mario is responsible for that damn cowlick.

Mario is not a slob, per se, but compared to Luigi's neat freak routine, anyone would look messy. Mario does tend to his moustache and hair, but it takes him 5 minutes at most when Luigi hogs the bathroom for 20 minutes minimum each morning.

He has a tattoo. The Tattoo. The infamous game boy advance tattoo. He got it on a rebellious whim as a teenager and he's both proud and ashamed of it.

What's less known is that Luigi also has a tattoo. He got it in support of Mario so he wouldn't get chewed off by their parents, and did it without Mario's knowledge, without trying to hide it while Mario tried to conceal the bandage as long as possible...which ended up looking as if Luigi got the tattoo first. Mario still thinks this is the balliest move Luigi ever pulled.

💤 A headcanon about their sleep

heather is a light sleeper, always has been even before losing her parents & entire village to dagur (ik she's dagur's sister & a berserker but they're not the ones who raised her, u know?)

however even then she doesn't have a lot of nightmares but only bc she's such a light sleeper/struggles sleeping

one of the only times she had truly slept well was when she stayed in astrid's hut & then a few times of her falling asleep in fishlegs' hut & garden when she spent time with him (he's very good for resting your head on)

Hmmm.

I'm gonna go with Hiccup is acts of service and gifts (giving) and words of affirmation (receiving). We know that he's an amazing gift giver (Fishlegs said it, Astrid confirmed it, they have no reason to lie to each other!!!) This isn't related to Toothless but specific to Toothless, it's physical touch all the way with him.

Ruffnut's are physical touch (receiving and receiving). Though I'm sure Ruffnut likes gifts (who doesn't?) and words of affirmation.

Also, hot take just now: words of affirmation is basically just praise kink.

southernwood : how seriously does your muse take themself ? do they prefer a solemn & intellectual atmosphere or do they delight in jokes & banter ?

I am not sure if I am supposed to answer this OOC or IC... (I am still getting the hang of Tumblr based RPing. I usually stick with forums or discord, but decided to branch out) So, OOC it is!

I honestly think it's a mix of the two. Orochimaru's brand of humour is quite dry and twisted. I HC him as having such, at least. They definitely enjoy intellectual banter and having a quick wit is the sign of a sharp mind to them. He does take himself seriously, but that doesn't mean he is immune to being petulant (he'll even admit it if called out on. As seen when they resurrected the 4 Hokages, in regards to Minato.) or being spitefully ridiculous.

I firmly believe that it is actually nicer than you would think but also still incredibly spartan. Like the only one out of the three of them who is in any way shape or form used to a 'permanent' place to stay is Kevin and it was the NEST.

Nicky brought a lot of the homey touches to the room previously. HOWEVER. I think that the three of them (out from under the various dangers against them) slowly start to get nice things for one another. Like Neil keeps falling asleep on the couch? Kevin bought a nice throw blanket. Kevin complains about how doing homework in the bean bag chair is killing his back? Andrew gets him a good chair. Andrew makes a single comment about going over to Matt, Aaron, and Nicky's room to use the nice coffee maker? Neil has the best one on the counter within 24 hours.

They'd never do nice things for themselves but they'd do it for one another.

Lost Kiiiiin.

My favorite headcanon is one that like 90% of the fandom shares, which is that they are... how was it Seebright put it? The Vessel most likely to drop the F bomb?

I can't help it, when I write them they end up impulsive and cranky, and I just love that for them too much.

But to give a more original headcanon: it is my belief that they died 'recently' in game, because they were answering Hollow's cry for help, too. And that the reason you don't see their shade is that you just have the echo of who they were; their shade is long, long gone back to the Abyss with the others.

(I also headcanon that they and Hollow would probably be close in an instance where both survive.)

The Bros have in common that the louder they are, the less serious you should take them.

Annoyed ? They make appropriate noises of surprise or protest but that's as far as it gets.

Upset ? They start babbling loudly in italian with hand gestures, Luigi might start crying, Mario's accent gets so thick you could lay the foundations of another tower of Pisa on it. They won't forget you but you're still relatively safe.

They are quiet but glare at you ? You better run.

Remember when in Partners in Time Mario got angry at Luigi, all it took was a look to send Luigi into a panic from his own brother?

Now imagine not being Mario's closest and most beloved relative when on this side of the angry glare.

14. Relationships- I honestly get the vibe that Penny is like. Everyone's friend. Being raised by humanists, she tends to see the good in people imo. Anyone who knows me knows I'm big into Spacedolls, I think she and Ricky together is so sweet, but I could also see her with either or both of the other girls. But when it comes to relationships in general she pretty much gets along with everyone.

When it comes to Jane, I think having no memory of who she was and the loneliness that comes with that makes her embrace everyone's attention with open arms. She loves being included and she accepts everyone and regards them all with fascination and curiosity.
