You know, hanging upside-down by your foot after getting caught in a rope trap—which let me remind you is one of the simplest fucking things ever conceived—really gives you a lot of time to think about the little things in life. Such things like; wow, I sure do feel like a huge idiot for falling for this. Or even; I hope to god some wild animal eats me before someone sees me like this, or I'll just die of embarrassment right on the spot. Like I said, the little things.

In the middle of trying not to let all the blood rush to his head, a group of monkeys happen to come across this poor man in dire need of assistance. Unfortunately for Django, instead of lending a hand to a very very distant cousin, they proceed to all point and laugh like the ill-mannered little shits they are. Somehow in the moment, this was far worse than being put into a five year coma.

             SHE   can feel her shoulders slumping with relief as the older woman finally relents and stalks off— either due to being thoroughly convinced, or just deciding the effort wasn’t worth it to try and sue. Honestly, the case would have been flimsy at best to begin with... not that it would stop some attorneys from pursuing it regardless.

it wasn't as hard to shop for the King of Knights as some would expect. what's handed to the dear and loved Servant is a gift bag and a separate pastry box. inside of the bag is a new suit, much like the one she wore during their time amid the Fourth Grail War but with a sturdier, yet breathable fabric and gloves to match. inside the pastry box is a small, scaled chocolate recreation of Avalon sat neatly atop a set of chocolate cupcakes. the message written on the side of the lid simply says ' thank you and happy valentine's '

It was wear she had always appreciated; the black suit of a knight in aid of a queen in white so perfectly matched. It rests in her hands so naturally — it feels so long ago, like she had been the innocent child of a Servant granted assurance by Irisviel’s continual kindness. There is so little that she can look back at the War and feel anything other than torment. But the woman is the one exception. She is the singular light in that darkness.

The suit pressed against her torso with an arm, her hand glides upon the scabbard laid before her. It is Irisviel. It is Shirou. She doesn’t need it in hand, not if it protects them. Even if it lays not in Irisviel anymore, it once did, it kept death at bay in the forest, a love that tethered her just a little longer.

'Thank you’ it says. But there is so much more that the king is thankful for of the woman. not all detached from regret, but it doesn’t overshadow everything. From the very beginning, Irisviel gave her courage to stand on the battlefield when others looked down upon her for her gender and ideals. The journey before the tragedy that she shares with Kiritsugu is one of hers and Irisviel’s — it is only fit that they share this scabbard one more time.
