Also I wanted to infodump about the ConVex in this AU:

Fairies become Vexes when directly exposed to large amounts of corrupted magic which changes them both physically and mentally, making them vicious and blood thirsty

The process is reversible, but requires restraining the Vex which can be quite the challenge. And even when cured, the Vex magic will leave permanent changes to the fairy’s body, like lingering blue pigmentation, slightly sharpened teeth and altered wing shape

Neither Cub nor Scar will tell anyone how exactly they managed to expose themselves to enough corrupted magic to get turned into Vexes

But based on the faces they make when asked, it probably happened because they were doing something very, very stupid.

Hermit Hollow concept doodles!!

The poll on my main blog decided overwhelmingly to keep the hermits color palettes, so as a trade off I decided to tint their wings to match their talents instead!

(I’m also debating on whether or not to keep the swirl details in their wings, it looks cool but it’s a pain in the ass to do 🤷‍♀️)

Cub doctor fairy

I actually have Cub as a dust fairy, specifically with the alchemy sub-talent!

I mean, just look at this skin and tell me it doesn’t give the same energy as the pirate fairy fuckin around and finding out at the beginning of her movie

(I also desperately needed a reason to slim down the number of tinker!hermits I had, it’s a bit too easy to just shove all the redstoners and like half the builders into the tinker category so I had to get creative with it lol)

But yeah, look it him! Funky lil alchemist almost blowing up Hermit Hollow with pixie dust!!

If you still want to leave suggestions for hermit’s talents, here’s the list of ones I have (kinda)figured out so far!

Also for the sake of this AU, all the fairy societal development (for lack of a better term) has already happened (ie: tinkers can go to the mainland, alchemy is a known sub-talent, cold and warm fairies can visit each other, etc etc)

Doc was Very Interesting fairy to design, especially in terms of his prosthetics. I ended up going with a repurposed doll arm (that he repainted himself to make it look cooler), and a modified red sea glass ring!

Also a moss shirt/turtleneck because I wanted to keep some creeper-y aspects

Follow up question to my “what fairy talent would the hermits have?” post:

Would it look better if I altered each hermits design/coloration based on their talents (ie: tinker!Tango dressed in green instead of red)

or should I just just fairy-ify their regular outfits?
