Jen Tortures Herself With Every Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever: Megamind

So surprisingly, this is one movie I've never actually seen before outside of all of the memes and all of the love people tend to shower upon it, and after finally seeing it for myself... yeah, I totally get why. Megamind is based as fuck, ya'll.

We focus on, of course, Megamind, who is a supervillain who terrorizes Metro City and is opposed by the heroic Metro Man. At least until Megamind seems to successfully defeat Metro Man, leaving Metro City in his hands and quickly leading him into wanting more than just power alone. While in disguse, he ends up striking up a romance with Roxanne, a local reporter, and at the same time, he ends up creating a new opponent for him to fight to curb his growing boredum in the nerdy (incel) Hal, who quickly becomes more of a villain himself than the hero Megamind wanted him to be. So of course, this leads to all sorts of chaos and hijinks, and while you might think that plot sounds too complicated for its own good, I can surprisingly say, it really isn't!

Yeah, all of the moving pieces here work so well together, interwoven into a really compelling story with some pretty solid emotions and some great character moments. It helps that our cast itself is fantastic; Megamind is such a good lead, he's a genuis, but he's also totally socially graceless and is an absolute lovable goober as a result, one who comes to realize that he can be more than the "villain" stereotype he believed he was forced into being from childhood. Roxanne is also a really good leading lady; she's funny and snarky and has really great chemistry with Megamind throughout.

Metro Man doesn't get a ton of screentime, but he's a great parody on the usual superhero tropes, while Minion is the perfect right hand man (fish?) to Megamind in every way. Even our villain, Hal, or as he comes to be called, Titan, works really well here; he's the kind of asshole who just doesn't take no for an answer that we can all justifably hate (but he's also hilarious in his own right).

The animation is also really great here. I find that Dreamworks movies tend to look their best when their characters are highly stylized, and that's what we get a lot of here. We get a lot of really fun action scenes, both in terms of fighting and Megamind's tech. and strangely enough the special effects here (things like fabric and particle effects, etc) really stood out to me, they were all super well done.

The humor is absolutely fantastic here. It's not as adult as some of Dreamworks earlier days, but instead it relies more on who these characters are and how they interact with each other. I think one of my favorite running gags is Megamind obliviously mispronouncing various words (like school and Metro City). There's a bunch of small bits just like that throughout the movie, and they're all so fast paced and well delivered by a really stellar voice cast. The emotions also strike a cord here; there aren't any tearjerker moments, but you really do feel Megamind's growth here as he falls in love and eventually decides to become the hero he never thought he could be.

So yeah, I really enjoyed this one! It's a shame it took me this long to watch it, because it was super enjoyable all the way through. Also amazing that it never really spawned any legit sequels, but I heard its getting a show next year, so idk. I am probs not gonna watch it. Movie good tho, give it a watch if ya haven't.

Hi hey hello, re: Cellbit (As an english speaker but like. Primarily a Cellbit viewer usually?? My work schedule lets me catch Cellbit's streams way easier than phils LMAO)

Cellbit's not a regular agent. He's not deliberately workin with the Feds- they tricked him. He was convinced- all of US were convinced- that all the little black boxes were puzzles that had something to do with the code, or some other anti-Federation entity, and it's just like. I think the entire tag was in a state of shock for like a solid 15 minutes. It's been two hours and I still have a little bit of "what the Fuck" numbness from "That's cucurucho this is a Federation building what the hell happened"

None of this is like angry or upset or "arugh that's My Guy I Must-" white knighting or whatever I just figured we could swap info (You're primarily Philza, I'm in for the late-night Brazillians, what's Phil been up to? /genq most recent I had heard on anything philza related was like. code kids at the dinner.)

Ayo no problem!! I know Cellbit isn't an actual agent that he was being played. The post I made was less of a "lore break down" an more of a- I just woke up went into the tags to see why we were trending. Just got unloaded on with just a bunch of lore. Bro I went to bed a couple of hours ago and nothing had happen. I wake up and shit is on fire. So it more of an a emotional response and not an analytical expression. (Its not gonna be like accurate)

I would love to have someone who is a cellbit viewer. Our timezones basically means I will never catch this man live ever. So to have someone dedicated to feeding me Cellbit lore i would be grateful for! An I welcome!

BRO being a Philza viewer is a blessing and a fucking curse. Lore wise nothing is happening, he is taking care of his eggs and is staying out of EVERYTHING dealing with the Feds and The Election. He made his statment that he wants nothing to do with anything that could give the Feds an upper hand on him. So his stance is to stay out of it ALL. (It tracks with both his hardcore playing and the other smp he was in.)

(This biggest mystery so far is why is he being targeted. Why is it specifically his eggs showing up as codes. We are assuming it because A anytime he sees them its like- ITS ON SIGHT. He does not fuck around nor is he scared by the code. Also we/Philza believe it because Tallulah wouldnt hurt a fly so people put their garud down around her. Which maked them disguse as her a lot.)

Philza streams are mostly, Tallulah and Chayannr lore. Tallulah had her emo arc last night/yesterday. She is really missing her father (Wilbur) which we are all collectivly worried about. Even though Tallulah has deemed Philza her father for now. (Personal stresser is that if Tallulah doesnt see Philza 100% as her dad how safe is she really. Also Wilbur is just anti minecraft in the way hes bad at playing. So its a fear of her dying after seeing him again or dying before she can see him.)

Fit told him about how hes a janitor for the Feds now.

Other than that we are big chillin! LOL. If you are Philza veiwer you have like 0 stress because mans stays to himself.

It makes for like great character analysis for Philza when it comes to his relationships, child rearing skills, and the egg lore.

Depressed

So i was gonna come home and draw a bit today... But instead i found out i was fired from my job for a scene that didnt happen the way it was described.

According to my former boss i was fired because i dropped f bombs and argued with my lead because i couldnt take directions.

Here is what actually happened;

I started the day normal. It was a good day. But they swamped me with priority orders and even though i was still new, i took to the challenge because i felt rhey wanted to see if i would sink or swim... I wanted to swim like a fish in water with that job.

Then came time to package everything. I managed to do this on time. (Note: we can listen to music so im bustin moves while finishing these orders in timely fanshion. I feel like i need to mention this because for context... I work to a rhythm and i listen to a lot od trap to get stuff done quickly and accurately.) Anyways, one lead tells me take them and put them in individual bags so i go back and start doing that. Then another lead tells me i need to bulk package the order with the little bags inside with lables. At first i was confused and i tried to comunicate this. This is how it went; L1 for lead 1 and L2 for lead 2.

L1: "okay, so now that your done, take thes elittle bags and these labels and package them for shipment.

Me: "okay, so just place them in the individual bags, place a label and bring back up here?"

L1: "yup."

Me: "okay."

L2 sees me, stops me and goes: "No no no. You need to bulk them with labels and send them up. You need to just place them all in a bag and send them up for so'n'so.

Me: "-but L1 said i need to place them individually."

This is L2: "no, you need to put them in bulk so they can be qc'd (quality controlled for those of you who dont work in manufacturing) and they may come back for you to packag indevidually."

"Okay. I kind wish this was explained a bit better a little earlier but i can do it now that i know."

Apperently this was arguing with her. Me trying to clarify what she meant because she said it rather fast and confusing like.

The next that happeed was the labeling. I didnt know how they were placed. So i put them on knowing that if i got it wrong they were removable and i could fix it. I made a small joke and life carried on.

According to L2 this is where i dropped f bombs. And they had no patience for it. So they called the temp agency i was hired through and had me fired.

I work this job a week. And i fell in love with it. I loved the people. I love the work. And i love the job in itself. I clocked off. Went to my car and saw i had three missed called from the agency. I immediately thought there was a different problem than what they told me. This agency is notorious for stopping people from workimg or threating jobs because of not knowing enough people for references. This is what i thought their problem was.

No. I stead i was greeted with this.

Agent: "hi, Rainwolf1265, how is the job going?"

Me: "great! I really like it here. Its fun and i like the work!"

Agent: "well thats good, so there was any issues today?"

Me: "no, why would there be?"

Agent: "we recieved a called from MainBossMan that you were arguing with your lead and that you dropped f bombs and that you arent taking directions well? So they ended your assignment there today. They said they dont have the patience for it."

Me: "...what? ...i never... I mean i had a slight confusion today but i thought it got worked out by me trying to clarify."

Agent: "Thats a shame. Well they ended you assignment so i cant do much. If you want to give us a call in the morning we can see what else is available. Maybe this was a blessing in disguse?"

My thought at this point is, i just made friends here. I was doing well. I even started to be proud of working for this place and now i am being told they fired me. I was upset. And i communicated this.

Agent: "are you still there?"

Me: "...yeah, sorry. Im a bit upset right now. Im not exactly sure what i did wrong."

Agent: "i understand. Why dont you call in the morning and well figure something out."

At this point i agree, say goodbye to the guy. He was doing his best to be as sweet as possible because you could hear the shock and hurt in my voice. I sat in my car and cried. In the parking lot of the job i started to love and lost. And i cried all the way home.

I keep going over and over it in my head trying to find where i went wrong but i dont really see anything. And im worried i wont be able to pay my bills this week or next month.

As it is, my bank account is in the negatives because i was finaccially screwed to begin with. Now im jobless. Semi homeless. And going hungry and im not even kidding.

I live in a fifth wheel. My car is broken. I have no money to feed myself tonight and the only good thing i had going, a decent paying job that was respectable, is gone. I dont know how im going to make a single payment to my already massive debt.

And i honestly feel like a failure.

To my new friends who i made there... Im sorry. I will probably never see you again, but im glad i met you and we had good times. Thanls for putting up with me and my shinnanigans during break.

Thanks for reading... I needed to vent a bit. Im gonna go cry in my hole of shame. Where that seems to be the only place i belong until i call the agency tomorrow.

Alarielle/Tyrion Headcanons:

Because I like writing about these two and love imagining the character interactions they have. :3

The loss of her mother, while young, is something Alarielle has to deal with herself, as it came long before her mother was able to impart to her all she could. She knows her mother is still inside of her, in some sense, as part of the gestalt Everqueen, but its not the same. Tyrion, surprisingly, understands where she comes from, having never known his own mother either, raised only by his father, and he does his best to help lend an understanding ear to Alarielle about this.

When Alarielle needs to vent, because she’s become fed up with the pomp, ceremony and backroom politicking her position entails, she always has Tyrion to back her up. More than a few times she jokes she should just follow his example and stop dealing with courts, but she knows she couldn’t ever really do that, although she’s certainly always happy that he’s quick to pledge that even if she ever did he’d still follow her anywhere she wants.

More often than not, in truth, Tyrio has absolutely no idea what to say or how to help. His skillset is a narrow one ‘killing people’ so when Alarielle has to deal with noble families, inter-kingdom politics, religious protest, Tyrion often realizes he’s basically useless to her. However, he can listen, and often for Alarielle that’s enough, and with time Tyrion learns to grow in tune with her emotions, if not able to give advice, he at least knows what places she wants to be to relax and alleviate her stress. Its from this that the two’s penchant for walks through shaded woods and remote areas develop, or allowing her to take rides out with Malhandir, just to feel the wind rushing and some exhilaration for a change.

If there is one critique which is, for the most part, true of Tyrion, it is that he is VERY rough around the edges by the standards of an Asur noble. He’s brusque, frank, blunt and not good at disgusing his emotions at all. Despite this Alarielle enjoys that roughness about him greatly. Surrounded by sycophants and supplicants for so much of her life she values the fact that her consort is never afraid to speak his mind, critical or not. Tyrion is, compared to almost everyone Alarielle knows, a completely open book, for good or ill, and through that she knows his earnest want for her happiness comes without any expectation of reciprocation on her part.

When it comes to teasing or flustering Alarielle is completely dominant. Tyrion can try his darn hardest but getting Alarielle to crack a blush when she doesn’t want to is basically impossible (helps she grew up in Avelorn where casually making love in public is seen as normal day occurence). On the other hand when Alarielle decides to tease her consort she can leave him a babbling, stammering wreck far more quickly.

Tyrion is also the one of the pair who requires physical contact more urgently. Alarielle understands better that their bond is an emotional, spiritual one and, again, growing up in Avelorn means she has a view of sex even more banal than the rest of the Asur. As a result often when she thinks words or expressions, even simple glances, are enough to convey the extent of her affection or feelings, Tyrion is the one who seeks, and wants, physical contact to reassure himself.

Tyrion and Alarielle developed a, strangely, mutual hobby in flowers. For Alarielle it comes from her background in gardening, for Tyrion is has a less noble origin; learning how to flirt with ladies in his youth and deciding that mastering the language of flowers was a good way to hit on them.

Both of them prefer their sojourns to be private and small, over lavish and expansive. Secluded, natural, spots where the two and a few chosen friends and guards might gather of their prefered way of spending private time with each other. Part of this actually calls back to the fact that they first fell in love while traversing, alone, through the wilds.

he lowkey loves it when she plays with his hair, like when she runs her fingers through it- agh he loves it

she likes to mess around with him when he’s trying to make a movie, and he actually loves it because he thinks its hilarious, but one time she almost got kicked off set ;-;

*coughs* you will find them making out in his dressing room and they’re telling him to come on but he doesn’t budge lol they have to drag him out

honestly in every movie he has to kiss someone, he just imagines he’s kissing her

he’s always taking her out, like seriously he just loves to be around her, and he’s kind of worried that the paparazzi annoys her, but she reassures him its fine

he loves acting like a regular teen/guy, despite how famous he is, and she loves seeing that side of him

he’s always blaring the radio as they drive and have the windows down, and he sings along, and he’s actually not that bad, and he dances in his seat and its just cute okay

he’ll usually have to leave early, so when he does, if she stays with him he’ll write her a little note saying where he is and when he can see her

he always i repeat ALWAYS brings her with him wherever he’s filming

they like to wear little disguses so he doesn’t get swarmed with fans and it’s so fun to do

he’s always holding her hand too, like he just loves the feeling of it and she loves it too
