The CRS calculator awards points for applicants’ express entry profiles based on the following standards:

Canada PR Points Calculator FAQ
Get answers to frequently asked questions about the Canada PR Points Calculator, including how to calculate your points.
If my CRS score is below 400, what should I do?
A province nomination program (PNP), an alternative immigration route to a Canada PR Visa with a low CRS score, is available in addition to the Express entry programme. For eligibility, several PNPs programmes, such as the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), need a low CRS score. Additionally, the AIPP – Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program offers a different immigration route for people with a CRS score of less than 400 points who want to immigrate to Canada.
If I have a low CRS score, how can I get a Canada PR Visa?
Even with a low CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score, you can enter Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Alberta recently sent invitations to immigrants with CRSs as low as 300. The PNP goal for Canada is anticipated to rise to 67,800 in 2020 and 71,300 in 2021.
Can you tell me what a good CRS score is?
The CRS score cut-off has often been between 470 and 475 CRS points in previous all-program Express Entry drawings. 470 points or more is now considered a strong CRS score, which will guarantee you an ITA to submit an application for a Canada PR visa.
What is the reason for the increase in the CRS score?
Express entry rates the profiles in the express entry pool using the CRS score. Immigrants with high-demanding talents and more job experience will have profiles that are listed higher. IRCC primarily invites individuals with higher express entry profiles with a higher CRS score, raising the CRS score cut-off in order to target only those immigrants with high skill sets. However, because of the small quantity of these profiles, the CRS score for Canada PR Visas will inevitably drop in order to achieve the admission objectives for new immigrants.
What effect does the NOC code have on the CRS score?
CRS scores are affected by NOC codes in two ways:
You must have the necessary work experience at NOC skill levels 0, A, or B in order to receive CRS points for your work experience.
Second, based on the NOC level of the work described in your employment offer letter, you may potentially be eligible for additional CRS points. For a NOC 00 level position, for instance, you receive an additional 200 CRS points.

so not to ruminate on things that vex me, but the past 2 or so months have been kinda shit, and i’m trucking along and there absolutely are high points and good things and joys that balance some of this out, but i need to vent out some of the negative emotions somewhere to get ‘em out. so i guess i’m doing that here because -
we’re in lockdown#6 where i live (state of victoria) and it’s hard, this yo-yo of restrictions and swinging in and out of one lockdown after another.
for those who understandably won’t know, what we call lockdown here means not just restaurant and commercial closures and mandatory working from home unless you’re in an industry where that’s impossible -- it also means no guests (0) inside you’re home unless you’re both living alone and single or else romantic partners, it means not leaving your home at all except for one of 4-5 necessary reasons, not being outside for more than 2hrs per day even to exercise, and not going more than 5km from your home unless required for work/medical/etc required reasons.
it’s intense. we spent (i think) 128 days in this degree of lockdown in 2020, never mind how many we spent in other forms of restrictions and working from home. and we’ve been back in it four (4) times in 2021 already. in-out-in-out-in-out -
it’s taking a toll on the mental health of every person i know. we get weekly emails with wellbeing and resilience tips from my job -- not just “be productive or else” capitalism but heartfelt ones from wellbeing officers with copies of articles like this one on languishing from the NYT, acknowledging we’re all struggling and directing us to the plethora of wellbeing resources our workplace is trying to provide, not only to us but reminding us they offer it to our families too.
i’m one of the lucky ones. i’m really not trying to wallow here or to pretend otherwise. i appreciate that i can work from home, even though i can’t focus when i do and it this interacts with my adhd to fuck my productivity. even if i’m so behind and delayed it feels like i’ve lost 12-18 months worth of work and it will have long-term ramifications on my career -- even so, i still i have a job. i still get paid. and i even kept my job, a bit by the skin of my teeth but i did, when my sector downsized last year. yes, the way my employer went about lay offs left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth (my own included), but i made it through.
and my sector, while affected, is by no means the worst of the collateral damage.
the yo-yo of lockdowns is taking a very very real toll on industries like hospitality, tourism, commerce. and the economy does have indirect effects on health and mental health as well. my friend, a waitress, was on her way to work the evening shift at a restaurant when she got the call about the latest lockdown. she had to turn around and go home because the announcement came just hours before the lockdown was imposed, and every place suddenly had to close by 8pm. bye bye evening shift. so much of the government support for these industries has dried up, has been inadequate.
lockdowns save lives. i don’t begrudge my state for imposing one except that yes -- i’m resentful we’re here again with only six cases. i can be both accepting and grateful and also pissed and tired and more all at once.
even more than the latest lockdown, i’m pissed about the yo-yo. that we went into lockdown in june, came out in july, went back in in july, came back out in july, are going back in now, in the first week of august. three lockdown/re-openings in 10 weeks, as if this rollercoaster doesn’t completely incapacitate our ability to plan or prepare for anything more than a week out, more than a day out -- in this case, more than a few hours out. 4pm the lockdown was announced, with an 8pm start time. as if that doesn’t have more insidious consequences on individuals and industries than a more clearly articulated and consistent approach. as if all the restaurants that got to open up this week didn’t purchase large food orders for this weekend that will spoil because they were given 4 hours notice to close their doors.
that’s the part i hate, right now more than the lockdowns themselves. consumer sentiment was at a high in april, optimism was everywhere. people felt good, and like we had a plan forward. now -- well, now my job is sending me emails about how normal and okay it is that i might be ‘languishing’ because aren’t we all?
and i absolutely do begrudge my federal government, and i’m angry with them, and this is part of why:
youtube
but i also accept, to some extent, that these decisions have all been made in difficult circumstances, and i’m not really about to pretend i could do any better.
at the same time, australia’s vaccine rollout is among the slowest and lowest at least within OECD countries. i know that’s partly because we’ve managed the keep cases low and therefore we are prioritized less when it comes to who needs the vaccines most (and thus who is earlier in line to be able to purchase) among other geo-political reasons i won’t get into, but it still very much sucks. our timeline and ability to move forward and ability to stop having lockdowns requires a mostly-vaccinated population, and that’s not something we’ll have anytime soon.
and i am a visa-holder here and my family is back in canada and with our current border restrictions leaving to visit is honestly is not an option because i wouldn’t be able to return, to work. i’m managing that distance okay most of the time despite my homesickness and frustration but my partner’s parents are older and his mother’s health just isn’t amazing and it’s weighing on him a lot.
a phd student i work with just had a parent die in another country while stuck here, had to drop everything to return, is devastated by not being by their parent’s side when it happened because it came on sudden, and now won’t be able to come back into australia after, will have to finish their thesis remotely from abroad. stories like that are becoming commonplace in certain circles, here. this student is not the first or only person i know who has been in that exact situation in the past year.
it’s enraging, and upsetting, and instills a sense of helplessness because -- there’s nothing that can really be done about it. there’s no good answer, but it’s scary to think of what could happen. i know it scares my husband. if his mother’s health suddenly dips -- does he drop everything and leave? how can he not? would i go with him or hold the fort here? what ramifications does that have either way?
right now, we’re in the first stages of getting permanent residency, my job is putting in the nomination, and this is one of those awesome high-points i mentioned. it’s a very much needed sense of security in my career and my future in this country. but while a PR application is pending and under review, you can’t leave the country, even in pre-covid times. it takes months to get the application fully nominated, accepted, then submitted, and months on months to process.
in january 2020 we had agreed that for xmas 2020 we’d return home to canada. obviously the world changed and we quickly determined that wouldn’t be the case. we pushed that plan back to july-aug 2021, then to october 2021, xmas 2021. my partner’s sister asked him last week if we started making plans, booking things for xmas, was calling to check that we’d had our second jabs. he had to explain the situation to her, that we aren’t even eligible for our first vaccine yet, that we aren’t holding out any real hope of visiting, not this year, not until mid-next.
anyway - i’m just. languishing, i guess, if that’s the word for it after all. i know it’s not the same as depression -- i’ve had episodes of that, been treated for it in different ways. this is and feels different, even if there are obvious similarities. whatever to call it, it sucks, and i hate it. and i hate the other lows and anxieties and crap i’ve been dealing with in the past few months as well that didn’t make it into this post about covid. crap with work, with friends, with goddamn car rentals of all stupid things. crap that’s making me anxious and crap that just needs processing. crap that is, ultimately, massively exacerbated because lockdowns turn us into little rats gnawing on the bars of our cages.
and i guess i just needed to talk about it somewhere, to organize my thoughts and free up some headspace (emotion space?) currently being used to hold these thoughts and feelings in place. i kind of hate posting personal crap like this and always get the urge to delete but i also have a hard time organising my thoughts if i don’t write them out with this intent to post. sort of want to go outside and scream at god, sort of want to phone up a friend and yell at him for an hour for being an exhausting ass, sort of want to be alone for a day to curl up under a blanket with a movie that’ll make me cry because raging at the universe is always so much easier when i’m alone and unobserved. but i guess since those aren’t especially kind or feasible i’ll post this instead.
anyway - if you read to the end of this for any reason, i’m not trying to be maudlin, and there’s really no need to respond. it’s just a feelings dump, sucking some of the poison out, not really much different than journalling but i’ve always been better at that online than on paper.

Immigrate To Canada With Low IELTS Score And Without Proof Of Funds. Get A Job In Canada From Your Country Of Residence Right Now. The Ultimate Guide 2021.
Tumblr media
Hi there. I am sure that by now you must have heard about the various relocation options to Canada.
You have probably heard about the two most common yet difficult relocation options most People are going through right now to legally relocate to Canada, which are:
1. The Express Entry Program.
2. The Provincial Nominee Program. (PNP)
If you don't know what the above terms mean, here is a brief explanation. They are point based immigration programs. You score points for your education, age, proficiency in English language (IELTS TEST), work experience, sibling in Canada, employment offer in Canada, etc. So there is a cut-off point set and you are required to meet it, that's how the Express Entry goes.
The Provincial Nominee Program is a bit more complicated. You apply to a province, the province selects you if you have the required criteria/points. For example, if you have family members in the province or work experience in the field they need. Once you are selected or nominated, you then apply at the federal level. Usually, the province gives you enough points to scale through the federal level cut-off.
If either of this two has not worked for you, then I have something that will make it possible for you to see yourself in Canada in six months time from now if you take action now.
Before I go on, I have some questions to ask you.
1. Would you like to know about a more straight forward relocation program you can start working with today and be in Canada within the next 6 to 9 months?
2. Have you been having difficulty with your Canada relocation process and simply stuck?
3. Would you like to learn more about an easier route that is now available as a means of getting your Canadian Permanent Resident Visa?
If your answer to all this questions is yes, then read this article to the end.
You see, a lot of people have used this program am about to share with you right now to relocate to Canada without stress.
Reasons Why You Should Relocate To Canada.
Tumblr media
1. Canada is that first world country that is inviting and welcoming immigrants with the broadest open hands at the moment. Why are they doing this? Well it is because they need people, they are underpopulated. They need people to fill in their work force and other aspects of their social-economic space.2. Canada has one of the worlds best (free) health-care and education systems.3. Canada prides itself in being one of the safest and secure countries. Very low gun deaths when compared to places like the United States.4. Canada is a country with one of the worlds highest human rights index. They are also very immigrant friendly.5. Canada's economy is sound, and her unemployment rate is very low.6. To sum it up, Canada is fun. Remember that this gate will close soon once their immigration quota is full. I see it slowly happening because the cut-off points are higher than it was a couple of years back. Again, you may have heard of the Express Entry, or the Provincial Nominee Program and have applied and it was not successful. It is because the cut-off is high, yes higher than it was before. More people are applying as the awareness is much more than before. The yearly quota is reached quickly as there are more applicants now. If you want to relocate to Canada, there is  something you must bear in mind
:Canada's immigration policies changes from time to time. What this means is this. The information you currently have and working with could be outdated. And unless you have the right information, and know precisely what the new changes are, you would most likely fail at your application.
As more people apply and try to get into Canada, the policies get tighter. The minimum requirement that got people into Canada two years ago wont get you in today. You can ask around or you could just google search the cut-off marks for the past two years and observe the steady increase. My advice, ACT NOW.
WHAT TO DO TO RELOCATE TO CANADA IN SIX MONTHS
This is where we all need help and guidance, and that is why i put this article together to help as much people I can help. And to show people what worked for me. How I and eight of my friends were able to get jobs in Canada even when we were still living in our own country. And how we were able to relocate there successfully without stress. The bottle neck associated with the Express entry program or the Provincial Nominee Immigration programs are:1. High CRS score required.2. High proof of funds required.3. High IELTS score required.4. No employment offer to boost your CRS score.5. Age factor. The older you are, the lower your point for age.6. Education. etc Many applicants find this hurdle too high. This is why this new program just released by the Canadian Government is apt for you. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. It was announced in Q1 2019 and opened in November 2019, and it provides a better pathway for you. Here is a brief overview of The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. Canada is a country well known for accepting high numbers of Immigrants. However under the current Immigration system, the vast majority of immigrants choose to live in major cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot seeks to change this by helping smaller communities to attract new-comers and support their settlement. The communities accepted receive support from the Federal Government to help them identify and select new candidates for permanent residency. The new comers are expected to have a positive impact on economic development. This program includes communities in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskat Chewan, Alberta, British Colombia, Nunavut, The North-West territories, and Yukon.
HOW IS THIS PROGRAM BETTER THAN THE EXPRESS ENTRY OR PNP PROGRAMS?
1. You require a low IELTS score.2. You get a job in these communities. There are many jobs available, and employers are willing to higher. This guide will show you how to get an employment offer fast. These job offers are Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt.3. Age does not matter.4. You only require a two years post-secondary education. Eg O.N.D. This will be impossible via the Express entry or Pnp route.5. Settlement funds required is way lower than the other programs.6. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is not a point based system. All you need to do is meet the essential criteria and you are in Canada. A detailed step by step guide on how you can apply for The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot from start to finish have been put together by Immigration experts Daniel Ola and Nike Johnson, and with this detailed guide, you do not need to pay any visa agents. The information in this guide is the most detailed and informative you can find on this Brand-New pathway to Canada, which is The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. If you want to successfully relocate to Canada, get this step by step guide first. Here is why:-It shows you the practical process to go about The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot from start to finish. And in this guide, you will learn the following:1. How to get a job offer from one of the participating communities while you are still living in the country you live in at the time of application.2. How to get a Canadian phone number while in your country.3. How to pass the IELTS exam. IELTS prep guide.4. The most important thing you need to know about sending your transcript for verification, so it does not get delayed or lost in transit.5. How to get a community recommendation.6. How to get your medical and police report.7. Step by step guidance on how to submit the entire application all by yourself from start to finish until you bag your Canadian PR status without giving a Dime to any agent. Note: I have seen people spend over $5000 on this.8. It will prepare you for life in Canada. All this value and even more for a little token of $50 or if you are in Nigeria 20,000 Naira. Migrate to Canada from India through Economic Migration Programs
Canada provides ample opportunities for skilled foreign workers willing to relocate to Canada on permanent residency status permanently. Canada has over 100 immigration pathways for overseas professionals who are seeking to relocate to Canada permanently. However, to qualify for a Canada PR visa, one must satisfy the minimum point system under the Canada PR points calculator and proceed accordingly.
Tumblr media
As per Canada's immigration level plans, the country is all set to welcome over 400,000 new permanent residents. Under this plan, India has to be a critical source in reaching this target. Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit Canada, more than one-quarter of the new immigrants arrived from India. Now the immigration system is coming back to its usual routine, and the country has eased the restrictions, many foreign workers have started to apply for Canadian immigration from their home country.
How to immigrate to Canada from India?
As Canada has resumed direct flights from India from September 27, 2021, and the government has updated its Covid-19 guidelines for foreigners, Indians can kick-start their immigration process and start a new life in Canada. The government of Canada website provides all details like travel requirements, documents, and other immigration-related information before entering Canada.
Canada immigration options for Indians
The immigration programs offered by Canada serve as a base for economic recovery. The programs aim to welcome talented workers, international students, entrepreneurs, start-up owners, and investors wishing to call this beautiful country home.
All provinces in Canada have the right to operate their immigration programs to fill labor market needs in their respective provinces.
Indian professionals may choose from several immigration options to get permanent residency in Canada. The most popular economic migration programs are described as follows:
Express Entry
Express Entry is the most highly sought-after program for skilled immigrants planning to immigrate to Canada. It's an online application management system that uses the Canada points system to invite eligible candidates.
Express Entry comprises three economic migration programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
Provincial Nominee Programs
Each province and territory in Canada has its provincial nominee programs to invite skilled applicants to address these regions' labor and demographic needs. The Provincial nominee programs often act independently, therefore, have different Canada PR requirements depending on their needs.
Some PNPs accept paper-based applications while some are linked with the Express Entry system. Applicants are also required to clear a medical test and police verification process for a successful PNP application.
Other immigration options
In addition, to Express Entry and PNPs, the government of Canada offers several different migration programs, including family sponsorship, business investment, Canada start-up visa, study, etc., for anyone looking for permanent relocation in Canada.
By following the paths above, you can quickly move to Canada with your loved ones.

How Many Points are Required for Canada PR in 2021
In an attempt to recover and to fuel the economy, Canada is all set to offer 1,233,000 permanent residencies to overseas workers in the next three years. New Canada permanent residents will provide a balance to the negative fiscal impacts shaped by the Coronavirus pandemic.
If you are looking for an opportunity to move to Canada, now is the time. But to qualify for the Canada PR in 2021, you need to understand the following:
Comprehensive Ranking System
Canada follows a point-based immigration system. Therefore, it is essential to clear the latest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off to receive an ITA - invitation to Apply - to apply for a Canada PR visa via the Express Entry program.
CRS score is awarded after evaluating various factors such as age, language proficiency, educational credentials, work experience, etc. Points earned during the entire express entry program is used to determine the rank of the applicant's profile.
Therefore, you must acquire 67 out of 100 points in the mentioned categories such as age, adaptability, educational qualifications, etc. to be eligible for Canada PR. If you earn the minimum of 67 points not less than that, you are eligible for the first step i.e. to create your profile in the express entry pool

New Post has been published on https://techcrunchapp.com/the-worlds-now-scrambling-for-dry-ice-its-just-one-headache-in-getting-coronavirus-vaccines-where-they-need-to-go/
The world's now scrambling for dry ice. It's just one headache in getting coronavirus vaccines where they need to go
Tumblr media
The “cold chain” is just one of the challenges in distributing vaccines worldwide.
There are plenty of others: decisions about priority populations and databases to keep track of who’s received what vaccine, where and when. Additionally, different vaccines may have more or less efficacy with different population groups; and governments will need PR campaigns to persuade people that vaccines are safe.
But the logistics of transporting and storing vaccines — getting them from the factory gate to the patient’s arm — are critical. And as most vaccines are likely to require two doses, the whole chain needs must be repeated within weeks.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine needs to be kept at around -70 degrees Celsius (-94 degrees Fahrenheit) while it’s transported. That’s 50 degrees Celsius colder than any other vaccine currently used.
Moderna says its vaccine can be kept in freezers typically available in pharmacies, and in a refrigerator for 30 days. But there are likely to be fewer doses of the Moderna vaccine than of the Pfizer’s available over the next year.
Phase 3 trials have shown both vaccines to be around 95% effective but the results haven’t yet been reviewed by regulators.
On Wednesday, the CEO of BioNTech, the German biotech company partnering with Pfizer, acknowledged the issue of temperature control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“We are working on formulation which could allow us to ship the vaccine even maybe at room temperature,” Ugur Sahin told CNN. “We believe that in the second half of 2021 we will have come up with a formulation which is comparable to any other type of vaccine.”
But in the meantime US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar believes the Moderna candidate is “more flexible” for settings like a local pharmacist. Pfizer’s, he said Monday, would be better suited to “big institutional vaccination, say a whole hospital setting, several nursing homes at once.”
Pfizer plans to ship up to 1.3 billion doses next year, requiring a lot of dry ice (carbon dioxide in solid form at around -78 degrees Celsius), and a lot of isothermic boxes. The boxes will hold up to 975 vials (4,875 doses) and can be refilled with dry ice for up to 15 days of storage.
Pfizer is testing the supply chain in four US states. Its CEO, Albert Bourla, said Wednesday he has “zero concerns” about the cold chain requirements.
But shipping such a vaccine can pose big challenges. Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, assistant director of the Pan American Health Organization, told CNN that “the rural and the urban areas in any country in the world are not ready to manage this vaccine today.”
“So, who is prepared in the world? No one.”
One issue is the availability of dry ice.
The Compressed Gas Association says carbon dioxide production capacity in the US and Canada is about 30,000 tons a day and is confident its members can meet demand for dry ice. It says that vaccine supply-chain officials believe less than 5% of dry ice production will be needed to support ultra-cold storage of Covid-19 vaccines in the United States and Canada.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Others in the industry expect bottlenecks. Several dry ice producers in the US told CNN they’ve already had offers for their entire output. Buddy Collen at Reliant and Pacific Dry Ice told online publication GasWorld: “We are in scramble mode trying to manipulate our production plants.”
Sam Rushing, president of Florida-based Advanced Cryogenics, told CNN there are already regional shortages in the US.
The main problem, Rushing says, is fewer vehicles on the road during the pandemic, meaning lower production of ethanol, from which carbon dioxide is a byproduct. European ethanol production has also fallen sharply this year.
US officials are confident enough dry ice will be available. Paul Ostrowski, director of supply, production and distribution for Operation Warp Speed, told CNN last week that courier UPS had pledged to “provide dry ice reshipments throughout all of America upon demand.”
But Rushing cautions that dry ice is not very user-friendly and can be hazardous if stored improperly, especially in a confined space. The Federal Aviation Administration classifies it as hazardous cargo.
Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, told CNN that the need for dry ice “clearly reduces also the transport capacity because if you have to load more ice you can’t load so much vaccine. And of course the procedures have to be very special in order to ensure that it always has this degree of coldness.”
US courier DHL is adapting distibution plans according to each vaccine’s specifications. David Goldberg, CEO of Global Forwarding US for the company, says “there’s a restriction on the amount of dry ice used on an aircraft — typically 500-1,000 kilos depending on a number of factors.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once they arrive, Pfizer vials can be stored at between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius for up to five days before deteriorating. Pfizer says it has developed a “just-in-time system which will ship the frozen vials direct to the point of vaccination.” It will also monitor the temperature of every box being shipped.
Julie Swann, an expert in supply chains at North Carolina State University, says that large hospital systems, which often have ultra-cool freezers, may have a role as distribution hubs. But not all US states have them; Hawaii said last week none of its hospitals had such freezers.
Breaking down shipments of a frozen vaccine for rural areas or small groups of essential workers — without compromising their temperature — will be another headache, Swann said.
When a vaccine needs to be used within a few days, providers will need to ensure they are ready. “You can’t just wait to see who shows up,” Swann told CNN. “And we don’t really have good data yet defining where and who the priority populations are.”
The more links in the supply chain, the more risk that the vaccine’s temperature will be compromised. Last month the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised states they “should limit transport of frozen or ultra-cold vaccine products.”
Prashant Yadav, a supply chain expert and senior fellow at the Center for Global Development, said: “It’s a question of how soon can we start thinking about multiple packaging formats.”
Beyond the US
If getting a frozen vaccine to tens of millions of people is a challenge in the US, it’s a far greater problem for poorer countries.
Transport links are slower and medical facilities less equipped in the developing world. CO2 production is scarce, and the cost and hazards of shipping huge amounts of dry ice are also a hurdle, Yadav says.
David Gitlin, the CEO of refrigeration specialists Carrier, told CNN last week: “When you look at places like Africa and India, they just don’t have the cold chain infrastructure. The United States spends 300 times more per capita on cold chain than India.”
Peru is one of many countries that have ordered the Pfizer vaccine. In the capital, Lima, where large volumes can be administered quickly, it should be effective, says Dr Germán Málaga, one of a team working on Peru’s vaccine options. But while there are probably 30 ultra-cold freezers in Lima “for the other 20 million Peruvians including in the Andes and the rainforest there are none.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“For the rest of the country we could use vaccines like the Chinese one that requires from 2 to 8 degrees which is more manageable,” Málaga said.
“It’s about cost-effectiveness, which is not just about the vaccine but the whole process of vaccinating,” said Yadav. But if Pfizer’s candidate proves to be the most effective, demand for ultra-cold freezers would be overwhelming.
Barbosa says the Pan American Health Organization is urging member states not to spend huge sums on preparing for one vaccine but join a multilateral facility called COVAX — essentially a clearing house for buying vaccines run by the World Health Organization.
Beyond the cold chain, there are other logistical hurdles.
A massive airlift will be required to get vaccines where they need to go. Pfizer, which has production lines in Europe and the US, says it expects an average of 20 daily cargo flights worldwide.
DHL expects that 15 million cooling boxes will need to be delivered on 15,000 flights over the next two years. David Golberg told CNN the company has established a high quality cold-chain network and is adding flights between China, Europe and the US.
Many countries can call on existing programs as models. Peru’s national vaccination program reaches about 75% of its population, Málaga said.
India’s polio vaccination program is ubiquitous — covering more than 90% of children by this year, according to Gagandeep Kang of the Wellcome Trust Research Laboratory at the Christian Medical College in Vellore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“For polio programs, we have used boats and mules and enterprising health staff,” said Kang. But such programs are designed for less than a tenth of the population, and Covid-19 vaccines will need to focus on different groups, she said.
India will need “a series of waves each addressing a different group as vaccine become available,” she told CNN.
“We will need to see performance characteristics of other vaccines, and their delivery requirements before making a call on what to go with,” said Kang, who is also a member of the World Health Organization’s Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety.
In such a dynamic situation, record-keeping becomes critical. Dr. Anna Blakney, who is working on a vaccine being developed by Imperial College London, said there is no centralized infrastructure in the US for monitoring who is getting what and when, which she describes as a “really critical issue.”
Yadav says that even when the vaccine reaches its destination there will need to be some flexibility to allow people to get their second dose in a different location if desired. And that demands reliable databases.
Barbosa said that beyond the supply chain, governments “must have a good communications strategy to overcome public skepticism and conspiracy theories about vaccines.”
Blakney agrees. “This process [of vaccine development] has been so fast that it’s not surprising people are skeptical as they read about safety and possible side-effects,” she said. Blakney is part of an international effort launched by reasearch scientists to reassure people via social media about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.
Finding enough dry ice is just one in a sequence of challenges to get the world vaccinated against Covid-19.
CNN’s Claudia Rebaza and Fred Pleitgen contributed to this report.

Canada 🇨🇦 Student Permit Pathway Journey
I started thinking about migrating to Canada way back 2016. Back then, I'm not aware of any other pathways aside from being employed (Express Entry). I was still single then and I never really was serious about it because 1) one must have a big amount of money to pursue it and I don't have that and 2) I think that it will be difficult for me to be employed because of my work experience (it's either you're an engineer, nurse, or caregiver then you'll get a higher chance of being employed hence higher chance of getting PR).
At the latter part of 2019 and at the beginning of 2020, I started to gather my courage and learn about the different pathways. I even went to immigration agencies in Makati to better understand them.
Fast forward to now, we're currently just at the beginning of everything. This blog will be updated from time to time to see the progress of our journey. I might not write a detailed one though.
Sep. 24-Oct. 17, 2020
As mentioned, the problem with our Canadian dream was MONEY. Fortunately, my tito Nestor and tita Ana were willing to support us in our endeavor. Which leads us to the 1st step and that was to pay the immigration agent 50% of 2,500CAD. This was a very hard decision for me to make because paying an immigration agent does not guarantee that I'll be granted a student permit. It will all depend on the strategy and the supporting documents that I'll submit. After paying, the agent asked me to sign a retainer agreement and to submit the following:
Resumé
Passport
Birth certificate
College diploma (my diploma was in Filipino so I still had to request for my english diploma - it costs P100 for 2pcs plus P200 for the shipping fee from LB to Sta. Rosa. I had to wait for several days before receiving it)
College Transcript of Records
After submitting all these, I still had to take an english exam as required by my chosen college (Langara College). Without the pandemic, I had to take IELTS Academic for this one. However, it's like a blessing in disguise because Langara temporarily allowed Duolingo Online English Exam as an alternative. It's way more cheaper and easier than IELTS Academic. IELTS Academic will cost around P11,000 while Duolingo is only $49 or P2,500.
The minimum required overall score is 110. I was so nervous while waiting for the result of my exam because there were questions that I weren't able to answer well. I got an overall score of 135, thank God! 😊
After submitting the result of my exam to Langara and also sending a copy of my exam result to my immigration agent, I have to pay the admission application fee of 155CAD (once again, thank you tito and tita) and sign a consent form stating that I am allowing my immigration agent and the educ. agent to handle my application and registration.
Right now, I'm still waiting for the response from the school and it will take 2-4 weeks to hear from them. After the school confirms a slot for me, I can then pay for the tuition for the 1st sem only.
Oct. 22, 2020
Ate Lala sent me a checklist so that I'll know the other documents needed while waiting for the response from Langara. She also sent me a receipt that showed that the application was already sent. While waiting, we can start doing the following:
Study plan - among all the other documents, this is the most crucial one. A guide questionnaire was given.
Bank statement/certificate of financial support from my tito/tita
Letter of support from tito/tita - ate lala provided a template for this one
Letter of parents property - affidavit form
Nov. 25, 2020
After more than a month of worrying, I finally received my LOO (Letter of Offer) from Langara College! 😭🥳 Now, I just have to ask my sponsors (Tito Nestor and Tita Ana) to pay for the tuition (1st half of the year only) including the non-refundable deposit fee amounting to 1,500 CAD. After paying, the school will send me my LOA (Letter of Application).
Dec. 2, 2020
There are many options on how to pay for the International Deposit fee (6,000 CAD) . There's the good old credit card, Flywire, and Western Union. All of which are connected directly to Langara College. There was quite a delay in payment because my sponsors had their Thanksgiving. Of course the "hiya" in me kicked in (as always). But, I have to ask them to pay for it ASAP because we were given just 10 business days to pay for it. At first, I told them that it's easier if we use Flywire. However, the exchange rate is too high. I can't wait for it to go down you know. So I insisted to ask my tita to just give me my uncle's credit card details (hihi). I just have to wait for the actual receipt and forward a copy to my consultant so that the educ. agent can already process for the LOA.
Jan. 22, 2021
I know. I skipped a lot of updates last December because of the holidays. Fast forward to 2021, I lodged my application last Jan. 16. After lodging, I got a biometrics request. We are currently busy at work that I didn't avail for any WFH sched because we are pressed for time (I wasn't surprised. Lagi na lang ganito 🙄). But because having my biometrics is important, I, instead, took a leave. But it's like a WFH as well because I had to attend to an online meeting in the afternoon. It's kind of unfair actually. 🙄 I think I'll be having another leave once I get a medical request. Or I might as well schedule myself for my medical even if there's no medical request yet. I'll still check my budget.
February 3, 2021
At last I received my medical request! However, the earliest schedule is on the last week of February. We're still too busy at work so I decided to schedule my medical on March 5. For preparation, I ate well and exercised for the last weeks. Let's see how it goes.
March 5, 2021
Last time I went to Makati was for my biometrics. I took the 7am schedule and I didn't anticipate the traffic jam at SLEX and that it was a Friday. I barely made it to my appointment. Thank goodness, after several petty fights with my husband (because we're really not Makati peeps so we easily get lost), I just came on time. This time for my medical, I decided to take the 6am P2P bus going to Makati. Oh, I opted to go to IOM Makati instead of St. Luke's because it's a lot cheaper. Aside from finding the right building, we still have to find a reasonable pay parking space. Yup. I just mentioned reasonable because pay parking rates in Makati is NOT cheap. Kung wala lang COVID-19, malamang nagcommute na lang kami all throughout. Going to Makati will always start an argument between Kim and I because of the directions and parking issues. I hate it actually. We seldom see each other and when in Makati we always argue about these things. Thankfully we found this pay parking spot which is not full and is somewhat reasonable (I'm not really sure, we didn't have any other choice). It was too early then so we ate our packed breakfast (to minimize expense) and watched Cobra Kai on Netflix.
We started to walk to the Trafalgar building at 8.30am. My appointment is at 9.05am. I brisked-walk my way going there. When we got there, we still have to wait for several minutes then the guard let us in. They do not allow companions so Kim had to go down and spend his waiting time at Starbucks just right across the building.
Before entering, the security guard will check your appointment then he will endorse you to their health declaration area. Once okay, you will have to fill-in an application first and then they will get a photo of you for your emedical form. These are the procedures I underwent:
Chest X-ray
Height, weight, blood pressure, eye exam, medical history
Blood chem
Urinalysis
Physical exam
The medical exam was relatively fast. It only took my 2.5hrs to finish all the tests. IOM Makati is very organized. The receptionist told me to wait for 10 business days for IOM to complete all the medical tests.
I’ve also read from this group/forum that I am in that if within 3-5 business days there aren’t any calls/email from IOM then it means that there’s no issues with my medical and that they have already forwarded this to IRCC.
March 15-24, 2021
I followed up my consultant on March 15 whether my medical results were already reflected in the dashboard. Unfortunately, there’s none. At this point, I’m still okay. My patience is still holding on. Come March 19, which is already counted as the 10th business day from my medical, I followed up again my consultant if my results were already reflected in the dashboard. Still, there’s none. This is when I decided to call and email IOM to check if they already submitted the results to IRCC. Don’t ever try to call their office. It’s just a waste of your energy and time. Try emailing them instead but you’d still have to wait for 24-48hrs for their reply. I emailed them on March 21 and got their reply on March 23.
It said there that they already submitted my completed medical result on March 13. Due to my neglect (actually, it’s not neglect really. I just waited for the 10 business days because I don’t want to insist myself early on when they already told me to wait for 10 business days), if I had known that they can already submit this early, I should’ve followed up that early as well.
I forwarded IOM’s email to me and the completed medical result to my consultant on March 24 and on March 25 she was able to submit the webform. It will take again 7-10 business days before my results will be reflected on the webform. Patience is still there.
Today is April 5 and it’s the 7th business day from the submission of webform of my consultant. I’ll wait for the 10th business day, which is on April 8 (or 9 for them).
April 6, 2021
IRCC already replied and said that they had a technical issue that’s why they haven’t forwarded my medical result to the Canadian VO in Manila. My consultant had to re-send the files (e-medical sheet) via webform.
April 9, 2021
IRCC replied and confirmed that they had already forwarded the e-medical sheet to the Canadian VO in Manila.
April 30, 2021
After how many weeks of waiting for my medical result to reflect in the dashboard, finally it came out as MEDICAL PASSED on April 27, 2021. Manifesting and praying to have an APPROVED decision in the coming days or weeks.
May 10, 2021
No words. 🥺 THANK YOU, LORD ☝️

How to find your Visa to Canada!
Tumblr media
Now is a great time to
apply for a visa to Canada
! Canada’s three-year immigration targets lays out a plan to welcome more than one million new immigrants between 2019 and 2021. Most of these newcomers will be skilled workers, ready to fill some of the many job openings in the Canadian economy.
In 2015, Canada introduced the Express Entry system which made it faster and easier for skilled workers to get a visa to Canada. Unlike the popular American H1-B visa, which results in a temporary work visa, success through Canada’s Express Entry system results Canadian permanent resident status for workers and their families. This is the equivalent of a US green card for Canada! Those with permanent resident status in Canada are able to live and work anywhere in the country, and enjoy the same social benefits as citizens. As long as PR holders meet their residency obligation, this status will last the for the rest of their life! Permanent residents have the option to apply for citizenship after staying in the country for three out of the previous five years!
PR Status in Canada
Currently, programs managed by the Express Entry system offer the fastest route to a permanent resident visa to Canada. The most recent reports show the average processing time for the popular Federal Skilled Worker program is just four months. This program doesn’t require the candidate to hold a
Canadian job offer
, and is based on ranking by immigration points awarded for language, education and work experience.Compare this to the current American system for skilled worker immigrants. Obtaining a coveted Green Card is a two step process, which requires candidates to be sponsored by a US employer, who will be responsible for submitting part of their application. The processing time for both steps combined can land anywhere from one year, to longer times surpassing five years. As the current
American administration
continues to introduce slashes
to the H-1B temporary worker program, we can expect growing insecurity in the lengthy application process for American visas. Fortunately, the Canadian government is moving in the opposite direction. How to secure your PRThere are several routes to getting a
visa to Canada
. In addition to Express Entry, each of Canada’s provinces offers their own immigration streams, called Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). Canadian provinces have their own unique demands for skilled labour, and PNP streams are designed to meet these demands. You never know when and where your experience could match up, so enlisting the help of immigration professionals can be the difference that keeps you up to date.

Canadian Work VISA
Canada, has resolved in the recent past to get around 10 lakh foreign skilled professionals to Canada with in the period of 2019 to 2021. Canada has many pathways for skilled professionals to enter the country. However, most of these programs need that the skilled professional needs to go through the point based Express Entry program. Many around, who are interested in relocating to Canada, will need to know the other program which doesn’t require the skilled professional go through the point-based Express Entry process. This program is the Canada Work Permit program. This doesn’t require the foreign skilled professional to qualify through the Express Entry’s score. However, it is required that the skilled professional has an offer letter from one of the companies’ based in Canada. Along with this, they should have been granted a Labour Market Opinion released by the HRSDC (Human Resources and Skills development Canada.)
Canada Work permit is a temporary visa to Canada which can be converted to Canada Permanent Residency in a year or two’s time. And this visa should not be confused for Canada’ s PR  Immigration VISA. It is highly important that the skilled foreign professional completely cooperates with the Canada employer offering the job as, in most cases a job offer and Labour Market Opinion are of high importance. Such an employer offering the job, will have to prove that the he/she couldn’t find a suitable available candidate to fill in the job vacancy. A Labour Market Opinion gives a confirmation about the job vacancy status.
1.       The foreign skilled professional will have to find a job in Canada beforehand so that the processing can begin. It is important that the skilled professional is not part of Canada at the time of looking for jobs in Canada under any status.
2.       The prospective employer will have to get a positive LMO from the HRSDC.
3.       The professional will have to have enough evidence to prove that he/she would return back to their country of origin once the period of work permit or the purpose of job is complete/achieved.
4.       The skilled professional will have to have evidence ready in hand to prove that he/she can address the economic needs of self and the dependent family when in Canada and they would, in no way, will need to obtain funds for survival.
5.       Other evidences like health certificate proving one’s sound mind and body, police certificate proving one’s positive non-criminal background should be provided
6.       Documents proving one’s education and experience must be submitted and provided along with the job offer from the employer.
7.       Any documental proof which the skilled professional might need to support his/her stands needs to be provided.

Speech synthesis is a form of the artificial production of human speech. A computer system generally used for the purpose which is known as a speech computer or speech synthesizer and which can be implemented in software or hardware products. A text-to-speech system (TTS) converts text in normal language into speech. Other systems translate symbolic linguistic representations such as phonetic transcriptions into speech. Synthesized speech can be created by concatenating recorded speech pieces that are stored in a database. Systems differ in the size of the stored language units; a system storing telephones or diphones has the largest output area, but it may not be clear enough. For certain uses, storing entire words or sentences enables high-quality output. Alternatively, a synthesizer can incorporate a model of the vocal tract and other human voice features to produce a fully "synthetic" speech output. One of the popular branches of speech synthesis is audiovisual speech synthesis, or multimodal speech synthesis, which uses an animated face that is tightly synchronized to complement the synthesized speech. Multimodal speech synthesis also includes additional features such as non-verbal cues to the language to more accurately communicate the user's words. Many speech synthesis systems allow users to select the type of speech, e.g. a male or female voice.
