China smartphone market shipment saw a modest decline of 5% in Q3 2023. October 26, 2023 - According to Canalys estimates, smartphone shipments in Mainland China saw a second consecutive quarter of modest decline, falling 5% to 66.7 million units. Honor, driven by product and channel competitiveness, returned to the top position with an 18% market share and 11.8 million shipments. OPPO (including OnePlus) followed with 10.9 million shipments, securing the second spot. Apple came in third with 10.6 million shipments, benefiting from its new launch. Vivo, with a cautious shipment strategy, held fourth position with a 16% market share. Xiaomi's hot-selling series maintained its momentum, with a slight increase in market share to 14%, securing the fifth spot. Additionally, Huawei continued to gain market share and inch its way towards the top players through its high-profile Mate series launches. “Product competitiveness is, again, key for growth,” said Canalys Research Analyst Lucas Zhong. “The Huawei Mate 60 series launch sparked the market. Разработчики популярного мобильного бенчмарка AnTuTu подготовили свежие рейтинги самых производительных Android-смартфонов ноября. В премиум- и среднебюджетном сегменте устройств определились новые лидеры.

В старшем сегменте Android-смартфонов высшую строчку рейтинга по итогу ноября взяла модель Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ на базе процессора HiSilicon Kirin 9000 5G. Согласно AnTuTu, устройство показало средний результат в 698 654 балла. Следом за ним идёт его младший брат Mate 40 Pro с 684 069 баллами на том же чипсете. К слову, в прошлом месяце первое место рейтинга занимала именно младшая модель.

Рейтинг самых производительных Android-смартфонов ноября по версии AnTuTu (премиум сегмент)

Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, занимавший в октябре шестое место в списке, поднялся в ноябрьском рейтинге до третьего места с 671 045 баллами. Вследствие этого модели Vivo iQOO 5 (664 250 очков) и iQOO 5 Pro (664 238 баллов) сместились на четвёртое и пятое места соответственно.

Остальные пять позиций заняли: Redmi K30S Ultra (664 119 баллов), Vivo X50 Pro+ (662 524 очка), Vivo iQOO Neo 3 (644 449 очков), ASUS ROG Phone [phone] балла) и Lenovo Legion Phone Duel с 626 885 баллами. Из рейтинга выбыли модели Xiaomi Black Shark 3S и OPPO Find X2 Pro.

Что касается среднего сегмента, то самым производительным Android-смартфоном ноября стал Redmi 10X 5G на базе чипсета MediaTek Dimensity 820, который набрал 404 089 очков и отобрал пальму первенства, что примечательно, у старшей модели Redmi 10X Pro 5G (398 227 баллов) на базе того же чипсета. Теперь последняя занимает только третью позицию в рейтинге. На второе место вышла модель Huawei nova 7 Pro с результатом 401 091 балл. На четвёртом месте расположился его младший собрат Huawei nova 7, набравший 395 879 баллов. Пятёрку лидеров закрывает модель Honor 30 с результатом 388 751 балл.

Рейтинг самых производительных Android-смартфонов ноября по версии AnTuTu (средний сегмент)

Остальная пятёрка самых производительных смартфонов среднего сегмента по версии AnTuTu осталась практически без изменений. Однако на десятое место вышел новичок Realme Q2 Pro 5G (338 516 баллов). Места с шестого по девятое в рейтинге заняли: Honor X10 (363 363 балла), Honor 30S (353 169 очков), Huawei nova 7 SE (351 638 баллов) и Redmi K30 5G Racing/Extreme Edition с 350 048 баллами.

Весьма вероятно, что по итогам декабря рейтинги самых производительных Android-смартфонов сильно не изменятся. Значительные перестановки стоит ожидать в первом квартале 2021 года, когда в продажу поступят новые смартфоны на базе чипсета Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

Weekly poll: Poco F2 Pro costs more than the original but does more too – is it worth it?

Few phones are cheered on by fans as if they were a sports team, but the original Poco was one of them. Now after two years of waiting it finally has a successor, but our initial reactions are a bit conflicting.

The Poco F2 Pro may well be the cheapest phone to pack the flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset – it certainly is on the global stage. Do we care that it’s actually a Redmi K30 Pro with a “Poco” label glued on? Unless you’re in China (the only country where you can actually buy the K30 Pro), then no, it doesn’t really matter.

With a €500 price tag it’s both a great deal and tangibly more expensive than the F1 was (€330 at launch). You do get 5G connectivity and a larger AMOLED screen for your money and the camera department is significantly improved. Not that the original was bad, but a lot has happened since 2018.

Today we want ultrawide cameras and telephoto lenses and the Poco F2 Pro delivers. The “telephoto macro” feature is unique, it allows you to shoot macro photos at 7cm (much higher distance than competitors). This is both more comfortable and it helps avoid shadowing your subject. Also, keep in mind that this is the only phone in its price range that can record 8K video at 30fps.

Let’s briefly look at the competition. The Realme X2 Pro costs less than €500, but it offers a 90Hz AMOLED display and faster 50W fast charging (vs. 30W for the Poco). However, it has an older chipset (S855+), no 5G and a smaller battery (the Poco battery has 4,700mAh capacity). The X50 Pro 5G is a more capable competitor, but it will be €600 when it reaches Europe later this month.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite can be found under €500 too and offers a 6.7” Super AMOLED display of its own. There’s no telephoto lens, but the main 48MP camera has Super Steady OIS. The 4,500mAh battery with 45W wired charring is a plus too, though the phone uses the original Snapdragon 855 chipset.

Huawei and Honor have competitive offerings, though their appeal outside of China is limited due to the lack of Google Mobile Services. OnePlus surpassed the €500 mark a few models ago and it hasn’t looked back, even the older OnePlus 7 Pro (which has a pop-up selfie camera, just like the Poco) is still pretty pricey.

So, you can find phones that offer some of the features of the Poco F2 Pro – but to get all of its features, you need to pay flagship level of cash. Is the phone a great deal or what?
