hi! i have a question, the top of my leg bone in my left hip i can voluntarily pop out of place with no pain, and it goes right back in. ive never dislocated anything but my joints are hypermobile and i get pain in my wrists, fingers, elbows, knees, ankles, and sometimes my lower back. not constant but enough to be a pain in the ass. i was just wondering if that was a normal thing or if its a subluxation or something?? i am never really sure, because im new to the terminology. thanks so much.
i asked my chiropractor about this today and it turns out there are two different definitions of subluxation. a medical subluxation is basically one step down from a dislocation, like if your joint is out of place and it could theoretically be seen in an xray but isn鈥檛 completely dislocated. a chiropractic subluxation is one step down from that, like if your joint is out of place but it couldn鈥檛 necessarily be seen in an xray. so obviously chiropractic subluxations are normal for us, but medical subluxations are (hopefully) a little less frequent. i can鈥檛 tell for sure based on your description which type that would be, but at a guess i would say that鈥檚 a medical subluxation. also, since your hip goes back where it belongs without any pain that probably isn鈥檛 something to worry about, but hip subluxations can cause/worsen lower back pain and knee pain, so you might want to keep an eye on that.聽

today i did what Arm Doctor II told me to and went to walmart and got a shin guard to put inside my elbow support to make an arm splint and MAN i Can Not Bend My Arm at ALL. like i was trying to keep it straight before but now i know just how much it was still bending before bc like i had to figure out a whole new way to take off my shirt and bra. annoyign thing is that it doesnt prevent my elbow from bending in the other direction but thats hypermobility for you babey
