So in the Winter Cup, Rakuzan is immune to Kuroko’s misdirection because Mayuzumi has copied his mannerisms and brand of misdirection so thoroughly that they’re used to it (and Kuroko overcomes this by switching to a different ~frequency~ of misdirection haha).

My question becomes: How did Mayuzumi know Kuroko’s mannerisms, down to his specific body language?

Akashi had to have tutored him. Meaning a) Akashi is the local Kuroko expert but also b) Mayuzumi was forced to sit there for probably hours as Akashi gushed over every little frown that Kuroko does when he’s thinking, or the flick of his eyes when he wants to distract someone, etc. etc. etc.
