Sorry for the ramble in your inbox incoming- I'm a really huge fan of your analysis type posts like the ones about Cathal and recently Flint ;A; So I hope its ok to maybe throw in my own 2 cents about Cogs/their society- (Sorry this gets rambly I thought about this last night and writing this like an hour after waking up lol)

I think what alot of people kind of (I wouldnt say ignore- more of:) don't really get is that I dont believe characters like Cathal or Flint have bad tendencies because they really want to in a way, (I kind of worded that poorly but point is) but because their society rewards and encourages that type of behavior. I think you said something kind of similar on Cathals post- But especially for Flint, whose a Bossbot (Who are literally the embodiment of a toxic workplace and elitism. I believe a old snippet from the TTO magazines says "They have no real skills of their own, just the ability to push down others and stay on top!" Or something to that nature.) he has to be demanding and imposing. There is no benefit to him in being kind. (Like looking at Misty for example) And don't get me wrong I don't believe that if Flint and Cathal were removed from Cog society they'd be better/objectively nicer (Like Flint not being condescending to Toons and Cathal not making people do things for him and being encouraged to try) But I do wonder how much of it is pressure, or how much of it is egged on and rewarded. Atleast in the aspects it relates to how they treat others.

(..And also I wonder what happens to Cogs that don't get jobs and are seen as ..not functioning. Since Graham was freaking the hell out in "Meeting Of Two Minds" over the possibility of not getting the job. I have a whole thing about this actually in my oc lore but thats another thing entirely I'll write about someday I swear)

Also I gasped when I saw the doodle of Graham in the MSI shirt finally a MSI listener Graham truther. I think he'd like the album "How I Learned To" and of course "You'll Rebel To Anything". I associate him mainly with the songs "Lights Out", "On It", and "You're No Fun Anymore" :p (This has been my favorite band since I was like 13 and now I get to spill all my opinions xD) I always imagined him doing the guitar backbend their bassist does! And my final hc is that Flint plays bass and Graham plays the main guitar. I think it fits them .. some people overlook bass when its actually pretty hard to learn from what I hear and vital to the song. (Like heres Feel Good Inc w/o the bass.. feels wrong x_x)

THe biggest issue with Cogs Inc is that it REWARDS and ENCOURAGES these poor behaviors, worsening these characters as people. ESPECIALLY cathal considering the position of power they’re in. I’m sure it applies to a ton of other cogs too, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten to them yet bc I’m not as insane abt them . LMAO

And yeah since cogs are literally built for work, it’s a wonder what happens to those who can’t find a job as easily as others. Hoping that gets built on since it’s clear in MOTM that these cogs have to actually apply and go to interviews and probably face some trial and error to land a job, just like people IRL.

ALSO. THE BAND HCS. I love it and you’re SOOOO RIGHT about the backbend that is so grahamcore. And yes I’m pretty sure Flint does play bass, I think his creator mailman said smth abt that on their blog . AND IM SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT UP FEEL GOOD INC bc i did draw flint in a demon days shirt in that same animatic . And ive def drawn them in the same shirt a couple times in the past too . I’ve always imagined him to be a Gorillaz fan, maybe graham too

so i have a really wide music taste, i can go from listening to songs from my chemical romance to faye webster in a day 😭

for genres, i guess i mostly listen to what spotify calls “alt/indie”. i understand the category tho because like they’ll call mitski an “indie” artist or a small artist as if she doesn’t have concert tickets for hundreds of dollars (i saw some for 1000 dollars once 😭) but that’s another topic lol

but recently my favorite artists have been conan gray, hozier, MIRACLE MUSICAL OMG

i’m just gonna talk abt miracle musical for oneee sec. their album “Hawaii part II” is like my roman empire, i actually love it. i watched a whole storyline video after listening to it start to finish because i wanted to compare my interpretation of it to other peoples’. and i loved how different peoples perceptions of the story are, but enough of my rambling lol.

i also listen to alex g, kimya dawson, mac demarco, and the neighborhood.

but at the same time i listen to my chemical romance, mindless self indulgence, and green day.

so basically i have a very broad music taste 😭

After starting my new job in the fall, I have uh.. upgraded my rig a bit.  I joked on Twitter the other day that it’s name is now “The Wind, Baby!”

Boring computer talk and some stats under the cut.

I have the same case, but I’ve swapped out nearly every other component of my machine in the last couple of months... including the video card.  Look, I know that the 3090 FE isn’t technically a “Gaming Card” (even though it was advertised as such) and Gamers Nexus tore it to shreds for the claims, but I’d been trying to get a 3080 for MONTHS and I was actually able to find a 3090 FE at retail price (on Best Buy’s website and picked it up in-store), it was the only thing available and I was tired of waiting so uh... yeah.  It took me awhile to justify pulling the trigger and I almost didn’t go pick it up. 

It’s not the card I wanted, but I decided to keep it, and I’m now happy with that decision.

I justified it to myself by telling myself I’m gonna skip the 40XX series all together so really I’m spending the same amount on this card as I would have for two XX80 cards.  Plus I sold my 2060 that I had before to offset the cost a bit more.  The pricetag was still insane for a single piece of hardware but... welp.  I can have a little insanity, as a treat.

Setting literally everything to ultra and getting amazing framerates is really nice, though, gotta say.

My biggest regret is that the FE series don’t have RGB.  Like, it looks very sleek and high end, and yeah there is that little bit of white lighting, but I really would have liked pretty lights like my 2060 RTX had.  I know I could add a light strip or something but it’s not the same.  Also worried that I may need to buy a brace, though most people say you don’t need it.  IDK.

Also, I need to buy other fans for the front case fans, which you can’t see in the pics because the ones I have were pretty nice fans when I bought them, but they’re also just like, static purple LEDs (which are invisible to the naked eye but the purple is clearly visible in those pics) and I’d like to be able to control the colors a bit more.

I set the lights (and entire case) to a Tom Servo theme for now though, and I’m happy with it, but eventually I’ll probably do other things with it.  Maybe need to dig up a few other small toys that won’t obstruct airflow to theme it out with.  Why isn’t there a Kaidan action figure!?

Yeah I’m not upgrading a damn thing for like 3 to five more years.  Except maybe going up to 32gb RAM. :p

And of course, the second game I’m playing with this beast is Fallout 4.  Still, heavily heavily modded with 4k textures and other big mods and it’s been running smooth.

The first game was Cyberpunk 2077 and no regrets.  It was freaking beautiful and I can’t wait til it gets patched up and some more content added so I can play it again.  I had decided to preorder the game (I let myself preorder one thing a year, this was it for 2020) and blacklisted the game both here and on twitter so I didn’t see most of whatever controversies people keep talking about.  Game ran decent for me on my 2060 with RTX on, and runs amazing now. Honestly the prettiest game I’ve ever played, and I had a lot of fun with it.  I still log in and just drive around sometimes to see all the pretty.

REALLY hoping the Mass Effect remaster has RTX.  Can’t wait to see the game in 4k, maybe looking even better than ALOT makes it look.

And that the modders can make their mods work with it, too.

- I'd say so. I mean I'm not bleeding or anything, which is always nice, just kinda floating in the "Comfortably Numb" emotional area, to use a song title xD

- don't wear that jacket with the holes in it to school, unless you wanna get called tramp for 3 years. Trust me, you dont.

- Yes! Alot actually, a poster of The Cure, a big Twenty one pilots banner from That Phase(tm) alot of printed pics of album covers, people I like, and aesthetic stuff, but my favourites are the stuff my mum has painted, she's a crazy talented artist.

No I don't. I bite my nails so much theres not really much there to put polish on! If I did wear nail polish I would probably go with black, silver or dark blue

- yes! My 11th birthday, i went paintballing, saw a movie and smashed an old car with my friends. Good times.

-uhhh... idk?? I never listened in history and I dont take it anymore, but I would love to go back and see a few bands live from 1970 to 2000. I missed some great music, being born in 2004 :(

Idk I've mentioned but live with Dave post game abt 6 - 12 months, moved out cos being in the honey moon phase w/ ur new bf is no fun when ur brother/brother-in-law lives with you.

KK n Dave never got married. Marriage wasn't something that called to Dave, and while KK thought marriage was romantic n cool n shit, it was a human custome so it didn't hold the same weight to him. It was more a cute trope to him. Additionally, in his mind cos it's a human custom only Dave could propose. SJW KK strikes again.

Nice side track memory but back to main point: once we entered earth C, KK introduced me to Equius, as me in him we best suited to building some of the tech we'd need to get settled. Us two + Jade and Jake were team hardware.

With Equ n Cali's help, Equ cos SBURB tech is close to troll tech, n Cali's knowledge on the game, we were able to jeryrig a bunch of things to bring people back. Hmmm I'm thinking abt it. And we deffs didn't have Equ n shit when got back. Like people we still dead. I know Roxy worked out how to build something that allowed her to use the life ring to bring all the dead beta n alpha trolls back. The dream bubbles still worked on earth C, so we likely consulted with the Zahhaks n Captors for building the tech we need to bring them back. And preceded to do so.

Also, We refused to let our friends n partners die when we couldn't, so after some more jeryrigging from Roxy, we brought over people's quest beds from their games n people did the die. They were planned n like we tried to make people dying on their bed as least stressful as possible. Karkat requested Dave stabbed him, but Dave so couldn't bring himself to do it. Like Dave had agreed when Kar had asked, and he'd been secretly freaking out in the lead up to doing it. Then when the time came Dave totally flipped out, which stressed Karkat the fuck out. Lots of 'you should have told me U were uncomfortable' pale ass bickering. Eventually Dave realised that if saw KK die it would also freak him out, so he left the room. Then Karkat, practical as ever, was just like 'ugh this was dumb. Dirk stab me and let's get this over with.' 'eye eye captain -stabs b4 he can complain abt the joke-'

Roxy had to be there for all the GT deaths cos she was best at working the tech, I was there with her because that shits stressful n hard to watch, she needed her moirail there. Given it was all trolls we were GTing, everyone understood which is funny to me in hindsight.

Caliborn aggressively went threw phases trying to find himself. Like one month he'd by a bunch of scene shit and sit in the living room with Nep making Kandi and try listening to MSI. Then the next month he'll discover earth C tiktok n try dressing like an eboy for a couple of months. Then he'll discover you know the Russian style where they were like a bunch of Adidas, that. Like he just cycled threw trying a bunch of shit to see what he vibed with. He also just hoard all the shit he would buy in his room. Like, post game all us kids had like practically unlimited money, so I know I at least I let Equ, Hal n Cal (n sometimes Nep if she was around, or Equ would buy things for her) just buy whatever they wanted with my money. But yeah, Cal's room was just one giant pile of shit. He had furniture n like a bed, but he would just sleep on top of his stuff. Like a lil hoarding dragon.

Like the only difference between comic!Caliborn, n my doomed!Cal when I first met him is that he would willingly call me a friend, and didn't want to kill his sister

Rose was really fucking good for him, she would not take his crap, but knew all the like shrink shit to help him

Working with Caliborn is just helping an autistic kid who in response to not understanding social ques n other people, just got really angry, mean and violent
