i had noticed that i was having slipping issues on linoleum recently, but i did not realize how bad the issue had gotten until the new tips came so. PLEASE check your cane treads and if they're notably worn out PLEASE get yourself a new tip they're SO cheap and the grip i get on the new one is INSANE

Can I mention the brilliance the RF Kuang did with Robin Swift’s name? No, not “Robin Swift,” but his original one. We’ll never know what his original name was. I was waiting, all 500+ pages, and on the last one with Robin’s POV, we get nothing.

I think the part that feels the worst about the outpouring of hatred in response to the Israel/Palestine conflict is that... like... my country is responsible for genocide! I do live on colonized, stolen land! My money does go towards the mass killing of innocent Arabs!

... my country of course being America. Like, even just counting deaths due to being directly shot by US soldiers and planes, over 450,000 civilians died since 9/11. My house is literally built on unceded tribal land, of which so many of the indigenous inhabitants have been killed in a genocide that their entire culture group would not be able to fill my local neighborhood if they were allowed to return.

I don't want to downplay the level of humanitarian crisis going on in Gaza right now, but I have received dozens of death threats for being Jewish, and 0 for being American. I'm beginning to think it has more to do with hating Jews, and a lot less to do with defending civilians.

As much as there are problems in this season, this particular ancient memory struck me.

We've never seen this many mantas before. The only place that came close to this size is the herd in sanctuary islands, and they are no where near the amount in this memory.

We know that in the past, the manta juicing thing was real and mantas were killed or transformed for their light. I don't know if the civilization has made an effort to keep the manta numbers populated, but since I've never seen such a huge herd before, I figure they didn't.

It made me wonder what the sky world was like before the dark stones. How flocks of mantas like this were common and they would fly over you like a wave in the ocean. How they chirpped at each other and soar across the skies as you look on with wonder, before they were snatched from their homes and stripped of their life to fuel machines for the kingdom.

Their numbers dwindled, and now there's only a handful left that survived. And when the kingdom fell, they were free to fly the skies again, letting the past go and growing from the pain.
