#i really missed drawing in mspaint! this is my first mspaint drawing in a long long time. its also of the most predictable characters ever#but my friend fizz recently asked me why i liked gallus so much in the first place (because i am the only gallus fan.) this made me rewatc#basically every episode he's in so that i could think about like...really why i DO like him. at the time i told avery that its because i#just tend to like grumpy characters (which they said like grumpy bear lol - i do love grumpy bear and am a huge care bears fan. another#good example is susie deltarune or karkat. i really like them both.)#but then why don't i have an obsession with like...short fuse? or gilda? or smolder?#(although i do actually adore gilda and smolder...)#but its probably because gallus gets the most emotional focus out of any young 6 member (excluding maybe yona?) especially in the episode#hearth's warming club. this episode (just his telling of his backstory really) is very heart-wrenching to me. more so now that i really#like him and have created a whole characterization for him outside of the show.#and there are other things...like the fact that he's a boy character in a show that doesn't have an apparent misogynistic culture#or the fact that he's from a different kingdom so he's experiencing equestria for the first time#or the fact that i sometimes...personally feel excluded not from wider society but also my family. so i relate to him. and i wrote these#feelings i have into summerfree! ive been doing it since i was 17! his original iteration was named LYRICAL PROSE...but he's always just#sort of been me trying to express how comforted i feel by my little pony. my old oc tickle (and my current oc daisy chain and my ponysona#milkweed) also do this for me.#its like free therapy :3#gallus#summerfree apple#june 12th 2023#june 13th 2023

concept art/character design for an acachalla centric horror story i've been brainstorming since last school year ^_^ still havent finalized any of these designs, i feel like they need a little more tweaking...
WARNING: blood, body horror, the mangled corpse of a dead animal, guns, crowbars, medical equipment and general medical imagery, and all around just weird and gross stuff
ADDITIONAL WARNING: really fucking long
story and images under the cut:
i imagine the premise is that sue, at the police station, gets a call from the acachallas like in canon. she decides to go to their house to help, alone because her coworkers are all busy/hate her (theyve been in the force long enough to go corrupt while sue still tries to do whats right)
when she goes in she discovers that the acachallas have been dead for like 10 years and their bodies are barely even intact. she also notices that their house is trashed, not only does it seem completely reclaimed by nature, covered in fungus and insects and blood, but a lot of their furniture and appliances are missing. their rooms look like theyre missing all that wouldve signaled the character of whomever inhabited it, and she thinks, well, maybe the house was looted after they died, but that doesn't explain who called...
then she accidentally steps in a pile of fungus. which wasnt there before. she turns around and a man, fully formed, has sprouted out of the ground. he is made almost entirely out of mushrooms and he has 2 shotguns for arms. he tells her to leave his house. she starts to run but then another figure stops her. a very tall woman who speaks in the same voice that called the police department. her form is indiscernible in the dark, but soon sue comes to realize this woman is not human.
she's not even alive.
sue meets the others and, sure enough, they all seem to be amalgamations of various household objects, both inorganic and organic matter, forming crude fascimiles of who they once were. there are 5 bodies and 5 of them, so they must be possessed by the immortal spirits of the acachallas...!
of course, it turns out they never needed help. it was merely a trap to lure sue home.
they accept her and care for her far more than her biological family or "friends" at work ever did. but being with them takes a toll on sue's body. eventually she dies and they build a new body for her. she wakes up as a beautiful monster. she wakes up as herself.
you're going to notice none of these drawings are of sue- that's because she's still just a regular human in this. by the end she might become a horrifying monster like the rest of them, but i havent designed her.
i took inspiration from a variety of sources, but i can only remember some of them off the top of my head:
undertale (lorewise the whole thing about monsters dust being spread on their favorite object so they can live in it, also photoshop flowey designwise was a huge inspiration)
deltarune (largely just the enemy designs)
dont hug me i'm scared (the teacher's designs, general vibes, also lamp's explanation of what happens when someone dies in episode 2 of the tv show)
tipping point (literally just stylistically. i need to learn digital collage to properly portray these designs)
tokusatsu (the costumes for the gorma in gosei sentai dairanger are like. really good. i enjoy their designs severely)
communications era ghost and pals mvs (the collage stuff speaks to my soul)
and thats all i can remember rn. now heres the first pictures i drew of each member of the family (on my world history notes) and the most recent draft of their designs (in mspaint) this is basically all of the drawings of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
beginning with spencer, he's the smallest of the family at only 4 feet tall. he is made out of his computer and manga collection basically. on each of these i left a lot of notes in the pictures breaking down what each part of the body is made out of. i wanted to incorporate figurines and action figures into his design too but i decided to keep it more focused. but all these designs are still subject to change. a teacher walked by as i was drawing him and said she liked how it was "very industrial but feminine" or something like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sally! im not entirely sure what that first sketch is but as you can tell i wanted her to be wearing a doll mask from the start. i gave her this big poofy princess dress to conceal where godzilla connects to the shelves that act as her legs because it looked very strange and did not look like the shelves were her legs. the dress turns into curtains which are draped over her shelves. she was very hard to design but very fun. also i just chose random dolls and stuff i know g3 draculaura and kylie and pnp sasha are like recent dolls that wouldnt exist yet. its a mockup ok
Tumblr media Tumblr media
next we got billy who is built out of his own medical supplies. i wanted to make his body one of those IV drip stands, although that means both him and spencer have very similar lower halves, with the wheels. hes the only one who doesnt really wear any clothes because billy doesnt really have an iconic outfit; the only thing i remember he wears is obviously his medic outfit but thats like. a whole outfit. i dont understand the layers of it so i can just put part of it on this thing. maybe i shouldve just given him scrubs. or what i think billy would wear that represents him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gertrude having a dead cat as her hair is a reference to a really specific one-off joke i read about on the wiki but dont actually remember from any of the videos. i think hair is a very important part of self expression so they would want to recreate their hairstyles with whatever they could find. it was hard as hell getting that cat into a shape that made literally any sense but i think i figured it out. her outfit is a combination of what she normally wore and her old costume as the crowbar, which i was inspired to design my version of as well (will post that drawing later). i think its very interesting how gertrude seems to exist to trap and keep safe or detain/kill various dangerous beings. shes like a shepherd but also an executioner.
Tumblr media
papa acachalla doesnt have a draft cause this was literally the first time i tried drawing him in this story because i was stuck on trying to imagine what hed be made out of and how he would look like. then i remembered fungus comes in all shapes and forms and also works as a metaphor for his connection with his family and his roots. also his arms are guns LOL! i wanted to make him more catholic but i couldnt come up with how while still having him look like papa acachalla. maybe adding that priest collar cause i think father grigori has it anyways but its hard to draw stuff around his neck area.

well I just finished the worst idea I've had.
you see, sometime last year I woke up and I thought
what if I map out the whole blackspace?
and this mspaint drawing is the result.
on one hand, I'm don't think the quality is good enough to main tag (as you will notice my unexistant grasp in perspective with cloudwalkway, the docks and that I gave up on the red maze)
on the other, I put way too much effort into this to leave it abandoned in my files forever
and I thought it could be useful for people if they want a quick visual guide for the main areas of blackspace!
so here I'll be leaving it... I don't really know much about like, how tumblr deals with image sizes and all that, but hopefuly it doesn't get mess up...
and I'm leaving it under a read more because the red maze looks like shit (but I swear at least blackspace 1 looks decent!)
I almost forget to mention, you'll see it better in another tab, because this thing is huge... welll at least for my standars, maybe it isnt actually that huge but still, youll see the details better if you open it in another tab.
Tumblr media
I guess now I could add a few notes:
all of this started because I wanted to like, determine how deep each area of blackspace 2 was. for example, the weathervane area I imagined it would be really close to blackspace 1, since you can reach there with a tiny ladder, while the docks would be deeper since you reach there with a long fall. so that's what I tried to depict here
although I wasnt too sure about the location of some areas. to guide myself, I took note of all the warps in headspace, including some unused ones, to more or less locate each area, but this is still pretty headcanon-ish
this isnt really meant to be like, a literal map of how I think blackspace looks like lore-wise, I like to think it is so caotic its impossible to map it like headspace, but this is more of a tool for the player. you get what I mean? i think this could be useful for someone who wants a quick visual guide of all the areas, for reference or stuff like that.
I choose to go with a minimalistic representation of each area because Im not crazy enough to draw a detailed-accurate map.
... but if anyone does it, let me know.
Im pretty happy with how blackspace 1 turned out. my only complain is that I wanted the church to be the highest point of blackspace, but I fucked it up and got too lazy to fix it. now the treehouse looks like the highest point.
by blackspace 2 I was starting to regret everything
I kinda sad that with the minimalist approach I wasnt sure how to depict some sub areas such as the black playground or the room with long snout, and thus they're missing.
maybe I should have drawn the black forests bigger, but as you might guess I was completely ignoring scale.
also I noticed now the blacks forests are called differently, but I decided to leave the name of when I drew them as a staple of its time.
maybe cloudwalkway would fit better being above the docks, since there are a lot of waterfalls there and it could explain all the water at the docks, but I got lazy.
I think lost at sea it's the prettiest area!
I thought it would be cool to put the heaven area right at the limit between blackspace 2 and redspace, just like the neighbours room its at the limit between hs and bs
fuck the red maze
I wanted the redspace to be at the deepest part of blackspace, but at first I wanst sure how to draw it, so I took some creative liberties. it is supposed to look like some mist that is pushing upwards. the red maze is a piece of redspace that like got detached and it's pushing up even faster than the rest of redspace. that's the reason why blackspace its pushing upwards to headspace.
I used my own hands as reference for the throne. I think they look pretty alrgiht for someone who never draws hands

So, given that I didn’t have much time to work on fics recently because school, I’ve decided to relieve some stress by making a random representation of how I imagine Cavendish and Dakota’s house in their time-period looks like. And since I have no plans to ever describe it in detail in a fic, here it is ! Though, given how bad I am with designs, showing the house is mostly an excuse to infodump on domestic headcanons.
Regarding the last names, I didn’t make a typo for Cav. I like to imagine the two getting married way before the events of the show, with Cav taking “Dakota” as a last name, mostly because he got several siblings in-law on the Dakota side who adopted him on the spot.
And about the representation of the house : yeah it looks like shit. Since I can’t draw, I’ve decided to do something rather quick using MSPaint but yeah, not the best thing in the world. Though, if I get back to playing the Sims 3 at some point and end up making a Dwampyverse savefile, I’ll most likely try to recreate that house and could share a few pics.
I also went with a rectangular house with one floor instead of some futuristic-looking thing, mostly because I have no imagination when it comes to design. Though, you could still use the excuse that they want something more “old-timey” given their job or that they don’t have all the money of the world so they chose a simple house for the small cost. But yeah, by the end of the day, the choice is mostly because I can’t design shit.
But still one thing in my defense : looking at episodes that take place in the future like “Missing Milo” or “First Impressions”, it seems that most buildings are square-y with the roof being the weirdly-shaped part, with B.O.T.T. being one of the few exceptions. And looking at “A Christmas Peril”, the buildings are definitely more wacky but it’s 20 years later so…
I could also mention that I’m a bit unsatisfied with how empty the living-room and the bedroom ended up being but I’m drawing a total blank when trying to come up with the kind of stuff Vinnie and Balth would have that are linked to their interests. Though, maybe the excuse of them not being often at the house works ? Idk. Let’s just say I have ideas for the “basic” stuff, aka what you find in basically every single middle-class house, but draw a complete blank for anything that’s decorative. Still posting a map of the house tho because I don’t really consider it a work in progress if I simply have no idea and may never do. I’m very bad at design so bear with me on that one ! It’s not only about the house, it’s also about the fluffy headcanons !
So here’s under the cut some random info about the look of the rooms and furniture + a bunch of headcanons regarding Vinnie and Balth’s lives in this house. For each part of the house, you first have the info about how it looks first and then the headcanons.
Those headcanons are made with the idea that Vinnie and Balth are married (duh) but also, for a few, that Vinnie has three siblings + a few in-laws that he has a good relationship with.
(very long post ahead)
General :
- They bought the house in 2162, 2 years after getting married.
- It’s in the suburbs, or at least what the future version of the suburbs would look like. In other words, the presence of a backyard is debatable.
- There could be a garage for their time vehicle, so that they don’t have to go to headquarters every single day. And if not an actual garage, there’s at least some space to put it. In both cases, it would be near the bedroom’s side of the house.
- While the walls outside would have that futuristic “metallic” look, the walls inside would be a bit warmer. At the very least, the inside isn’t “future metallic white”, especially with Vinnie having photophobia.
- The intensity of the lights in every room can be adjusted. That way, Vinnie can put the dimmest light and navigate the house without his glasses. This is mostly useful for showering and midnight snacks.
- When they went house-hunting, Balth was the one who insisted that they needed a place with those kinds of lights. This is also the same kind of lights that Vinnie had in his now-former apartment.
- You know how near the end of the episode “First Impressions” you have Balth going into Mr. Block’s office ? Well, the way the door opens in that moment is how the door opens for every room of the house, perhaps excluding the main entrance (I like the idea of their front door being an “old” one, aka the “normal” doors we have today).
- Every room would have a spot that can create “tactile panels”, like some holographic tablet that can be used to change the settings of the house, for example changing the lights or the internet or even lock the doors and blinds.
- In 2175, when they were forced to leave the future, Vinnie stole a device from B.O.T.T. that made him able to create some kind of forcefield around the house that only he and Balth can remove. So, even if they’re not there anymore, the house still is theirs and can’t be sold to anyone else. And before you ask why B.O.T.T. didn’t simply send agents to bring the duo back and force them to open the shield : the forcefield works with hand-scan detection and Vinnie convinced Balth to use their left hands, the hands with the wedding rings. So if time-agents come knocking, they could try convincing the agents to let them use the bathroom first and they could wash their hands and use the soap to remove the rings. That way, the scan wouldn’t work and the agents would have no way of knowing why.
    Living room :
- There’s more furniture than showed here like souvenirs from previous missions or some random stuff that belongs to them. I just don’t have enough imagination. : /
- Likewise, the corridor has a few pictures or posters, like pictures that Vinnie didn’t have the space to put in his memory room but still wanted to display. Also, I want to say that Vinnie would display pictures of his family (sibling, in-laws and nephews) but I’ll see him more as having an album for family pictures, or a framed picture on his nightstand.
- There could definitely be a carpet or two. They would either be modern ones to fit the fact that they’re from the future or vintage stuff found in some of their missions. One of the carpets would be under the coffee table. Another would be in the big-ass space between the living-room and the kitchen, or in the corridor.
- The style is a mix between old and new stuff, with also a few things related to their interests. Like, for example, the couch could have an animal pattern or something (AND BY THAT I DON’T MEAN REAL ANIMAL FUR).
- Speaking of the couch, after looking up “futuristic couch” on the internet, they would absolutely have one of those gigantic couches that have like a bed attached to them due to how big they are. Btw I have no idea which company came up with this design and I couldn’t care less. It’s just that the design looks cool and would fit a futuristic house.
- The side table is a floating square, given how we see in “A Christmas Peril” that tables in the future don’t have feet anymore (that’s one way to protect your toes).
- The floor lamp is more futuristic. It’s like a white orb attached to a lamp foot.
- The TV is attached to the wall. The remote is some kind of holographic tablet, kind of like the house settings thingy.
  - This is where Balth would spend most of his mornings and evenings when they stay home. He’d just be sitting with a cup of tea, most of the time also a book, with the sun illuminating the room, just feeling comfortable and peaceful. The side table/cube was bought specifically for Balth’s tea. He would also use the lamp while reading in the late evening, either for the peace of having little to no light and solely focusing on the book or as a way for Vinnie to be in the room with the lights at the lowest setting. And speaking of Vinnie, he would sometimes join his husband on the couch, lying down with his head resting on Balth’s legs (cue Vinnie falling asleep, leading to a frustrated Balth who needs to pee but doesn’t want to wake him up).
- Since there’s a mini-table for when Balth drinks tea, the table right in front of the couch is mostly used for Vinnie to rest his legs on.
- And speaking of fluffy headcanons : movie nights. From time to time, aka minimum once a month, probably more, the couple would be in their pajamas cuddling on the couch while watching a movie, with Dennis resting in Balth’s arms.
For the movie choices, Balth would choose science-fiction, especially if there are any Professor-Time-themed movies, but also historical fiction (for some reason I tend to see Balth as having a liking for history ? I think it’s because of the way he dresses + his small rant about pirates in “Game Night” ? Idk honestly. It’s mostly a random headcanon that’s here for some weird reason). As for Vinnie, it’s mostly animal documentaries (Balth falls asleep halfway through but Vinnie doesn’t notice until after it’s over) or animated/family movies (the future equivalent of D*sney, S*ny pitcures, P*xar etc. Which are movies Balth would enjoy as well). For some weird reason I’ll also see the two of them being into mystery movies (crime-solving movies basically).
And if they sometimes decide to watch other genres, I could see Balth having a liking for some romance movies, because for some reason I like the idea of Balth being sappy. Besides, the guy is passionate when it comes to proving himself at his jobs and takes them pretty seriously in order to reach his objective. And given how he can be insecure and sometimes feels like a ball of anxiety, who’s to say he isn’t passionate when it comes to love too ? And no, I don’t mean passionate as in “making out all the time”, I mean passionate as in taking relationships seriously and making it work while also wishing to make sure his partner knows that he’s loved, even if Balth isn’t really the best at expressing his affection all the time.
On a different note, to get back to other genres : Vinnie would probably like horror movies. Because if cuddling in front of a sappy movie is great, having your husband show his love and trust for you by clinging to your arm out of fear is even better, nevermind the fact that you’re as terrified as he is.
    Kitchen :
- It’s one of those kitchens with two walls of cupboards/cabinets, both on the ground and elevated. One of the cabinets is used entirely for snacks. Because Vinnie.
- The wall separating the kitchen and the living room “has a hole in it”. It’s like you have a small wall with cupboards, a hole, and a wall connected to the ceiling with a few cabinets. Basically, you look up “kitchen cupboards” and imagine that the space in-between is a hole instead of the wall (why is it so hard to explain something so simple ?).
- This would be the most futuristic-looking room of their house. Looking up at references, they’re that Pinterest post showing a room with white cabinets with round corners and what seems to be slide doors. This is pretty much how I’ll see their kitchen, except bigger, with a different wall color and with one wall not being here (see above).
- The table is floating because of course it does. The chairs don’t tho. Also the chairs are as futuristic as the rest of the room. And looking up the internet again, the chairs are shaped like chairs.
  - So I put a stove but tbh I’m not sure how much these two would cook, given how in the show they’re always seen eating out (granted they don’t have a kitchen in their ‘apartment’ in Milo’s time). And given how most things seem automatized in the future, let’s just assume that the house can do most of the cooking itself with like a robot (aka plot-convenience technology) but still needs the necessary furniture and ingredients for the recipes. Also, if there’s an issue with their cooking system, they’ll probably know a few recipes and can feed themselves (Vinnie’s oldest brother Enzie would definitely teach his younger siblings a few recipes, at least enough to survive on their own. And he would be more than happy to teach his brother in-law as well).
- I put 4 chairs at the table but honestly I could see them keep 2 at all times and put the others in the storage room, especially the times they get very busy with their job for a few weeks and don’t have the time for social life.
- At some point, Balth probably tried to convince Vinnie to have better food habits and tried to put his snacks on the higher shelves. Not only did it not work because chairs exist but also it led to Vinnie getting frustrated. So Balth dropped it. Though, he would still try to talk Vinnie into working out to stay rather healthy.
    Memories room :
- Vinnie’s personal space. He basically saw the third biggest room of the house and went “mine now” and Balth had no issue letting him have it (hard to say no when Vinnie’s eyes shine like that).
- He already had a memory room in his old apartment.
- Basically, Vinnie brings back souvenirs from his missions, along with pictures he took, and put them on display. For more information, I made a post about it a while ago, so check it out if you want info on it.
And side note : I learned more about ADHD and autism later on and found out that the correct word for Vinnie’s passion for animals is a special interest, not a hyperfixation. The main difference between the two terms is how long your interest last. The reason I used “hyperfixation” in my post is because 1. I didn’t know that “special interest” was a term that existed and 2. people with ADHD kept talking about having hyperfixations and most people see Vinnie as having ADHD. So yeah, my bad for using the wrong term. And while I won’t change the current text from my post, especially with someone in the notes correcting me (I don’t want them to look like an idiot), I’ll definitely add a few words at the end of the post about it.
 - This is where Vinnie spends most of his time when at home, trying to keep the room in the best condition.
- There’s a window in the room but Vinnie condemned it in case some of his souvenirs were sensitive to the sunlight.
- The room is made entirely of shelves, with like four-five rows on the same wall. The shelves are either integrated into the walls or they’re floating because future. In any cases, there’s nothing around the shelves, it’s just shelves with stuff on it.
- When you enter the room, one of the rows of shelves next to you has all the animal-related stuff he gathered before starting a relationship with Balth. The rest of the room can have a few animal-themed objects but the pictures tend to be more linked to him and Balth.
- Likewise, when you enter the room, on the shelf you’re immediately facing, there’s a miniature recreation of their wedding altar with their wedding picture in its center. The miniature is made out of the future equivalent of papier-mâché and the altar is themed around time-travel with objects from all kinds of time-periods and cultures. And for those who might ask regarding the picture : Vinnie has a black suit and carries the bouquet while Balth has a white suit. Both have a hat that’s basically Balth’s usual hat (with the Professor-Time goggles, because themed wedding) but colored like their respective suit.
    Balthazar’s office :
- The room has quite a few libraries but this is mostly decorations. Basically, this room is more of an 1800th century study than anything, especially a rich/royal study. Yeah, for some reason I see Balth as having an office that’s just “rich 1800th century” aesthetic. I think it’s from the headcanon of him being a runaway prince 🤔.
- So yeah. The bookcases are vintage, the piano is your usual black piano, the armchairs are vintage and tbh Balth almost never uses them because he’d rather read in the living room, and the desk is vintage, though the stuff on the desk is futuristic. Balth is up to date with the technology he’s using to work, he just likes the older aesthetic for the rest.
- On his desk, despite literally living with the guy, Balth has a framed picture of Vinnie (again, I want the stubborn gay disaster to be sappy from time to time, with his love language being small touches and attention to details like for example being able to quickly see the kinds of foods Vinnie like the most so that when he’s in a bad mood, Balth can get him that specific food to make it better ; or learning Vinnie’s body language to know when he’s upset or bothered by something).
  - Balth mostly spends his time here to make the reports on their missions or work some administration stuff when needed. When he isn’t at his desk, he’s there to play the piano.
And yes, I throw out the window that line from “Backwards to School Night” that indicates Vinnie doesn’t know about Balth playing piano but tbh I ignore or question quite a few things from this episode such as : the line indicating that Vinnie and Balth don’t live together in their time-period since Balth doesn’t know Vinnie’s weekend habits ; the line about how the ray thing age you down to 90% your current age and yet baby Vinnie seems younger than the parents despite his adult self seeming older; the fact that Melissa read a book 16 times in the span of 6 minutes ; the fact that it’s called a “age regressor ray” and not a “age regressor ray-inator” (seriously, I am the only one always expecting Vinnie to say “inator” and being disappointed when he doesn’t ?).
- The couple absolutely sing songs together with Balth playing the piano. Or at least Vinnie would sing a song in the middle of the living-room and have Balth be annoyed by it, only for Vinnie to hear Balth play the same song on the piano later and join him.
    Bathroom :
- Not much to say here. It’s a bathroom. It’s futuristic-looking. The mirror is a cabinet. The tub is round. The bin comes in and out of the wall. The clothes drier also irons the clothes. The toilet is glued to the wall. The walls are dark gray or dark blue or at least a darker color so that Vinnie doesn’t have to dim the lights to the lowest level when he’s showering. There are also several little lights along with a main one so that Vinnie can light the small ones instead of getting a headache due to the brighter light. During lazy/slow days, Balth would take baths instead of showers (and Vinnie would want to join him to make out). Balth may or may not sing in the shower (Vinnie definitely does). That’s pretty much it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    Guest/Storage room :
- Only used as a guest room when one or several members of the Dakota family are visiting the states and end up in the Tri-State-Area. So for 90% of the time, the room is used as storage.
- Bed’s not that big and very “squary”. Might or might not be floating.
- It’s mostly random junk that they don’t know where to put and don’t want to get rid of, like some stuff they got from their missions but that Vinnie doesn’t want in his room or some old things they want to give at a garage sale or that one Professor-Time body-pillow that Balth refuses to let go of while Vinnie just wants to trash the thing. The body-pillow being in the storage room in a junkpile was their compromise on the issue. Also, whenever someone might stay in the room, Balth makes sure there’s no way they will find the body-pillow (his sister in-law Bettie would never let him live it down).
- Not much to say here either aside from that.
Master bedroom (the room in which the proportions are way bigger than the rest of the house because I have no idea what I’m doing) :
- I described the room quickly in my fic “nightmares” but yeah basically the room has several posters and pictures related to their interests, along with a bookshelf full of animal encyclopedias, time-travel facts, history books, Professor-Time fantasy books etc. There are also albums, whether it be family pictures or album of the two of them.
- Like for the living-room, there can definitely be more than what I described/pictured here. I’m just really bad at imagining the kind of stuff people would have in their bedrooms related to their interests. And speaking of which : at some point, there was the aquarium that Vinnie mentions in “Time Out”.
- Unlike the other rooms in which the windows have roller blinds (apparently that’s the english word for it ?), this one has curtains on top of it because Balth likes to open the window in the morning but he doesn’t want Vinnie to hurt his eyes. So with curtains, he can open them enough to light the room but not enough for the light to reach Vinnie’s face.
- The bed is pretty classic for a futuristic bed but with round edges and these two idiots definitely go crazy with the sheets design (animals, food, Professor-Time, past time-periods, stuff like that). Also, the bed is “open”. By that I mean that, if you look at futuristic designs, there tends to be some roof thing above the bed and linked to it. They wouldn’t have that.
- The nightstands are floating cubes.
- “Dennis’ chair” is just some random old wooden chair where Dennis stays most of the time. Balth almost never takes him during his missions and Dennis is a comfort object that Balth mostly talks to when sitting on the bed, movie nights aside. So the bear stays in the bedroom.
- The bookshelf would also be made of wood.
- The wardrobe is futuristic, with doors that can open by themselves with sensory detection. Also, unlike what that poor “drawing” shows, the wardrobe is “taller” than it is “larger”.
- The armchair is an egg chair.
  - They sleep
- They spoon
- Balth is the big spoon because 1. he’s taller and 2. he grew up sleeping while embracing a teddy bear and old habits die hard.
- When Balth goes to sleep or wakes up, he can’t help but play with Vinnie’s hair and give the small man a few kisses, feeling satisfaction in seeing his husband smile or try to pull away while laughing.
- Vinnie sleeps on the side closest to the window while Balth sleeps on the side nearest to Dennis.
- Balth’s nightstand has an alarm clock that’s basically just a holographic square with numbers on it, while Vinnie has an album or some random animal trinket. Vinnie’s alarm clock is not feeling Balth’s warmth against him. But if Vinnie has to use an actual alarm, the sound would either be some old-fashioned song or an animal noise (is this starting to get too much insistence on the “animal-loving” side of him ?)
- While Balth likes to read in the living-room, Vinnies likes it better to chill in the bedroom when reading. Also, during weekends and vacation days, Balth would sometimes read in bed before sleeping (yeah for some reason I really like the idea of Balth being a reader. I think it has to do with him being old or british ??? Weird brain is weird. And besides, if Balth reads, it would most likely be science fiction related to Professor Time). Vinnie uses this time as an excuse to cuddle.
- They have themed pajamas. Balth mostly has Professor-Time stuff (clocks, Heinz or Perry’s faces etc) while Vinnie has mostly animal-themed or food-themed pajamas.
- Vinnie sometimes sleeps naked in the summer. Balth is still trying to figure out how he feels about that.
- Random headcanon regarding Dennis : while he belongs to Balth who keeps him close when in doubt in order to vent or when he wants to get comfortable somewhere, I actually like to believe that, between the two, Vinnie is the one who talks the most to Dennis, mostly because Vinnie would just enter the bedroom and casually greet the bear, or he and Balth would have a dumb argument and Vinnie would playfully tell Dennis “Can you believe that guy ?” while pointing at Balth. Just, Vinnie being Vinnie and having random one-sided conversations with the bear.
And a little cute thing : while Vinnie really just talked to Dennis because why not, seeing the guy like the teddy bear so much would actually make Balth feel better about himself. I like to believe that grown-up men having plushies would still be seen as a ridiculous thing by most people (because toxic masculinity) and Balth got the habit of hiding Dennis when he was still trying to find the right guy for him. So seeing Vinnie have no issue whatsoever with the teddy bear and even liking him would definitely help Balth’s confidence, along with warming his heart.
- And since this post is all about headcanons : two things about phones and these two being sappy that have nothing to do with houses.
1. One day, Balth left his phone on a table and Vinnie decided to take a selfie with it because why not. After seeing that, Balth acted frustrated but ended up putting the pic as his phone background. Ever since, Balth’s phone background is a picture of Vinnie. The most recent one is from “We’re Going to the Zoo” with a picture of Vinnie holding squirrels in his arms while a third one is coming out of his pistachios-filled pants. The pic on the phone is a closeup, only showing Vinnie’s head and upper body. And for those who like angst, I’ll let you imagine how he must have felt having this as his phone background during the rogue arc.
2. Vinnie’s (numeric) phone password is 2703, aka march 27, the date of his wedding anniversary. The day is put first and the month second because Europe. Also, during busy weeks, this would be a good way for Vinnie to remember the anniversary.
(fun fact : I was trying to come up with scenarios for fics when I ended up thinking about Vinnie’s password and that number came to mind. So I just went “guess that’s their wedding date now”)

2019, a retrospective to this year and decade
Tumblr media
Long post in-comin’
I’m gonna be honest, I’m not really sure how to describe this year and by extension, this decade, I guess that’s to be expected in a way, so many things can happen in 365 or more days to the point of a information overload, but I suppose the best way to describe this year was ‘complicated yet also stale’. Not much happened in the beginning aside from therapy and support group appointments, which were pleasant albeit I don’t remember much from them aside from drawings I’ve done that I showed to the other members, nothing of significance happened that I can recall during the middle of the year, and around near the end I took part in art therapy groups that I managed to make a few friends out of (though I sadly don’t chat with them often), at September I was beginning to try and get into college after being out of education for a year and managed to enrol (though court issues made me miss the first five weeks that I had to quickly catch up to), most of my memories of this year actually came from college.
College has been going good, so far! I have been learning a lot and my tutors are very kind, of course it can get stressful due to the long days I have and also due to some of my more rowdier peers, but I’ve managed to also befriend a few others that I am very happy to have met. Currently I’m in my break and I will use it to advantage as much as I can to post as much art as I can.
Also, I’ve just recently been exploring my gender, and well, I’m now transmasc rather than a demigirl, I still go by whatever pronoun and still see myself as nonbinary, but I am more masculine leaning now? I guess I might be a ‘demiboy’ but I still feel a bit more ‘fluid’ than that, sooo... masculine leaning demifluid? I dunno, but overall I’m not a girl anymore! :D
Rebirth is still being rewritten, admittedly I haven’t been focusing entirely on it due to some things in the way, but some of that is now gone so really my only enemy is my lack of motivation and poor time management, but even times where I’m not writing and/or editing the rewrite I’m still thinking of how I want certain scenes to go or what things I want the characters to say, so it’s still being worked on! I do feel incredibly bad that I haven’t been doing a lot of my Undertale-related stuff lately or even attempting to at least finish off the HS’ blog’s first arc (I at LEAST wanna finish that arc before I go on a official hiatus to fully know what to do with it), but you can rest assured that I have NOT forgotten about it and I do want to continue on with it, I guess that’s probably one of my goals for 2020, ‘more Undertale fanart’, yes, good, very good, mwahahahaha.
And now, a little something more personal, mostly in regards to this decade as a whole. Warning for mentions and discussions of pedophilia, bullying, suicide, and trauma for the next three or so paragraphs.
(Warning starts here)
My memories from around the beginning of this decade are hazy, but very notable, I’m not going to sugarcoat it by saying that from 2010-2013 were some of my worst years of my life, I was only 11-14 around this time, but when I wasn’t going through awful bullying at school that the teachers did nothing about, I would come back home to a toxic friend circle on DeviantArt that was filled with constant irrelevant drama and some REALLY creepy adults that would do smut rps with the minors in our group. Thankfully I never was a victim of this due to mostly staying in my corner and didn’t interact with others much, but I saw it happen to many of the other minors in said group, it left me disturbed but I rationalised it by thinking it was just some ‘teenager thing’ that I was too young for (because I was a little cretin that lied about my age and said I was 13 when I was really 11 when I first signed up haha), it was only when I was late into being 17 I realised ‘Oh my god the people who I called my friends and RP’d with were pedophiles and groomed the other minors what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck’.
This whole shitty ordeal with that dA friend circle and the constant bullying I went through in secondary school were so bad that it literally led me to have a suicide attempt at the age of 13, I survived of course, and I’m really glad I did, because I wouldn’t have met friends that through them I would manage to get away and abandon the old dA group because ‘fuck you guys I have BETTER FRIENDS NOW!’ Unfortunately all of that dA friend circle are now deactivated or are no longer active with all the evidence deleted so there’s no use making a callout or name dropping any of them or even searching for the other minors in attempt to rekindle with them (and I don’t think my heart would be able to handle it in that regard...), but I did find out that one of them who was a pedophile apologist at one point commissioned a ton of Darkrai pregnancy porn with one of it being fucking mpreg, so I can at least get a laugh from that shit, doubt she’s reading this but if you are...
You may be gone, but your darkrai mpreg porn will live on FOREVER... Forever for ME to laugh at!!! >8DDD  So anyway get rekt and suck my non-existent dick you fucking creep.
Tumblr media
(Warning ends here)
Phew alright, all that nasty stuff out of the way...   2014 was where things began to improve, I had moved secondary schools and I switched from a mainstream to a specialist school for other autistic children and I found the people who would become my closest friends, through one of them I also got a tumblr blog, and when Undertale came around (so late 2015 to around 2016 when the fandom was most active), through it’s fandom I managed to gain really kind and lovely friends that I love dearly, it’s somewhat strange to me, in the beginning since childhood I never had any close friends and the only ‘close’ ones I had were ones that either kept me around out of pity (because I was a awkward autistic kid), kept me around to constantly bully and push my buttons, or (in this case with the dA friend circle) were potential predators that I thankfully was never THAT close to, and actual close ones I lost contact with too quickly, to this day I’m so thankful for these friends and I dunno if they’d be comfortable with me namedropping them here, but if you’re reading this, you know who you are <333.
I of course had rough patches throughout the years, recovery from my traumas wasn’t easy and I was constantly having issues with pretty much everything from my mental health problems to environmental factors that were out of my control, I’m not going to go into detail on this one because this post is long enough already, but I am much better now than how I was when I was younger, I still have a long way to go, but I have definitely improved and I hope I can still improve, hell, I’ve even improved my art! Wanna see an example?
Tumblr media
I drew this back in 2011 on mspaint on a mouse! Yeah! Can you believe that? Whilst to me my art right now isn’t exactly ‘artist goals’ I have definitely improved a lot since!! And I’ll keep on improving forever because that’s what this decade was like anyway! I’m not sure what the future holds, but I want to set these goals for next year:
Create more digital art Finish my unfinished short comic ideas and parodies Continue to chip away at Rebirth’s rewrite and finish Hissterical Scientist’s first arc. Work on my original stuff Continue to improve my mental health Get proper time management skills Learn to do commissions (I be gettin munz lol) Thank you to all my friends and family who have helped support me and stuck by me throughout all these years, I am so happy I get to spend a life with you and I hope we’ll continue to go through the future together, you mean so much to me and I can’t say thank you enough. Thank you to any followers who have sticked by me for so long and if you’re new, I hope we’ll make memories together!
Onward and upward, and leave behind the pain! <3

Unfinished sketch of a cottage posted by Jaccques Simmons on March 16th, 2023. Referencing the building he entered in his ‘Cottage Account’ on March 14th.
I only managed to draw the building itself before the photo died, but I tried cleaning it up from memory afterwards. The part that juts out is where the descending staircases were.
If someone ventures into the wilderness around here and finds a building shaped kinda like this, enter at your own risk. And at the very least, enter with another person.
---
Jaccque Simmons’s ‘Cottage Account,’ posted on March 14th, 2023. Recounting what happened to him when he entered a derelict building he had been tracking for the last few days.
Boy, I have got the story for you guys today. I almost died, I think, but that’s not the part that sticks in my head the most. Right now, I’m sitting at home at my computer, writing this on a keyboard with a cup of my rationed hot chocolate next to me. Despite it taking me nearly 4 days to get to the cottage, I only needed 1 to get home, and I couldn’t be happier.
Anyhow, let me tell you what happened:
After waking up that day and packing up my camp again, I noticed that the short hills in the distance had disappeared. I climbed up a tree to get a better look and I saw to my delight, the cottage I had been tracking this entire time was only about 400 feet away. As fast as I could, I got down and made my way towards it, very soon I sat in front of the building, and I realized it did not look anything like I had thought.
The ‘cottage’ was more like the shell of a brick building that just appeared smaller from far away, its insides were completely empty: 2 floors of garbage were piled onto the ground within the walls, and I realized that this house, whatever it was, must’ve been abandoned for decades at least. The small signs of dissaray I had seen on my way to this building were just hints of the cottage’s actual state.
Disheartened, I started loitering around to see if there was something to have made the trip worth my time. I looked at the ground under my feet and realized that it was crumbled asphalt, meaning there was once a road here--but after the wilderness changed sized over and over again it broke apart. Perhaps, I thought, I’d find something else of note if I kept following it.
So I did, I kept trekking along the traces of roads until I came to a dead end. There was a thin wall of shrubbery in front of me, but between the leaves I made out another building. It was short and squat, but more than enough to get my attention. I took my big knife from by belt and cut down enough of the plants to get through, and when I did I saw what looked like some kind of old storehouse.
It was made of stone, but had a metal roof and the remnants of a powerline was sat in front of it, with bits of dead wire scattered around. The old stone walls were cracked, with bits missing and exposing the inner wall. Across the entire thing were dead creeper-like plants, and in the center was a large metal gate, which appeared to me like it was made to drag a cart through.
Either way, I thought I had what I came for and I snapped a picture with my phone so I could draw it later. This is an aside but I know some of you guys are shocked that I would do this, but I realized after a bit of testing that photos of the stuff you find in the wilderness only ‘dies’ after a little while. Usually it does not last longer than a day, but that’s more than enough for me to draw something from photo reference. I’m not sure exactly why this happens, however, so I guess that’s something for the scientists out there to figure out.
After snapping my pic I pried open the metal gate. The inside of the building was barren, except for signs of the inner wall breaking off. I put my backpack down and brought out my flashlight, and I saw a descending set of stairs to my right.
In hindsight, these stairs were weird as hell. Just at one end of the building, within its own room or even with a fence around it, were a set of wooden stairs that descended into what was presumably a basement. When I walked up to it and shone by flashlight down, I saw it descended about 20 or 30 feet before ending at a normal-looking wooden door. I was so curious that, after making sure the steps weren’t too rotten to support my weight, I went down and tried to open it.
The door wasn’t locked, and it swung open to a small basement-like room. The space looked like it was dug out of the dirt and then had plaster walls and ceilings put up. It was weird as hell, as it looked like underneath this abandoned storagehouse was just an unfinished basement. There was no furniture, unless you counted the littles piles of dust bordering the walls, but there was another door just in front of me. Although the door itself hadn’t been installed so it was just a door-shaped hole. The door hole, if you will.
Through the door-hole was a long room with what looked like the measurement drawings on the wall. Like how someone would do to mark where they’d cut out a window or something, but for this there were the outlines of like 4 windows marked out in blue. Beyond that, the room was exactly as featureless as the last, save for another empty doorway. I went through that and found another room, but this time with no walls, just the metal frame of the room and the naked supports that were holding up the ceiling. To my right, now, was another empty doorway.
And this was something I didn’t notice until I was on my way out, but, the doorway I saw from the naked room should have lead right back to the first room I entered when I descended those steps. But it didn’t. I went through the naked room and found myself in an even more naked room. The previous one had its frame and stuff exposed, this room had none of that. It literally looked like a cube-shaped hole that was excavated out of the ground.
I’m going to make a diagram in MSPaint to show you what I mean.
Tumblr media
The grey room is the one I just entered, the excavated one, and I swear up and down that there was no change in elevation as I walked through these rooms. If this was a normal place, I swear the room I just walked into WOULD have intersected with the first room I went into.
So, yeah, in hindsight this place was a little insane. But, it just looked so benign and weird in more obvious ways that I didn’t notice. Was that somehow on purpose? By the whatever or whichever that built this place? Assuming something like this actually was built and didn’t just like, spring out of the aether or whatever. Perhaps if I spent a couple more second to think about this then
Anyhow, once I had reached the super empty room I saw another opening, but it wasn’t shaped like a door like the rest of the passages. It was just a rectangular hole, seemingly carved into the wall itself. I shined my flashlight down, and saw the ceiling steadily lower like a ramp until it opened up again at the very end, presumably into a new room.
Now, this is obviously the part in the horror movie where everyone yells at me to go back to saftety. I’m in this pitch-black basement, with only my flashlight, and a long narrow hallway leading into some mystery room. But you have to understand how it felt in the moment. The situation the world is in right now is completely and utterly undprecedented, it’s basically supernatural. The world is growing bigger and smaller behind our backs and now, within one of these strange flux regions, I find not just a building but a basement, leading to somewhere?
With how the wilderness is acting, along with some of the stuff I've seen other survivalists post, I felt like if I didn't see what's at the end of the hallway, then nobody would EVER see it.
So I continued.
And down I went as the roof continued to lower forcing me to eventually crouch my way forward until I got into a really weird room. It’s difficult for me to describe so I went through the effort of drawing a rough summation from memory.
Tumblr media
There was this pedestal-shaped thing that descended from the ceiling, and from it was a clay tablet that hung down a short distance from a two thick black ropes. The tablet had an indentation a bit larger than my head's, and hung down to about my chest. There were no strange markings or runes or anything, on either the tablet thing or the structure in lowered from.
This little room looked completely different to everything I had seen so far. It almost didn’t look manmade. It wasn’t dug out or built and set into the ground by anything, it gave me the sense that it was just... there. That entire time, somehow, this room naturally formed. It doesn’t make any sense, but that’s the only way I can imagine describing it. The rock walls were smooth, and a sort of ochre colour, but the wall in front of me was more yellow. The room itself was also immaculately clean, no dust or anything.
I looked into the clay tablet-like thing that stuck out from the upside-down pedestal. It was completely still until I poked the edge, and it swung about harmlessly. The indention was ovalular, and struck me as the exact kind of shape something meant for you to stick your head into would be.
So, of course, I stuck my face into it. It didn't look supernatural, and I was really curious. Maybe there was some kind of magic influence going on as well but it literally looked like something that was made for you to stick your face into I thought this place was leading me to something. Like, I had gotten so far, at the literal end of this tunnel, I would find something interesting, and this was clearly what I was meant to do.  So yeah, I did, to see if my face would fit. And I very quickly regretted it.
As soon as my nose touched the back of the tablet thing I gasped. But it was like an involuntary thing, all the air rushed out of my chest and then I took another quick breath, just as involuntary. Right then, I had lost control of my body. It was like sleep paralysis, I was standing normally, leaning into the clay tablet thing, but any attempt at moving my arms or fingers or legs failed. I wasn't able to control my breathing. I wasn’t even able to let go of my flashlight.
My eyes flitted around inside the tablet, I could just see out the edges of my peripheral vision, and I imagined some kinda shadow creature taking me or something, but nothing happened. I began counting the seconds, and 27-ish seconds in I realized I wasn't looking into a clay tablet anymore--I was looking outside. Just outside the storehouse, I could even make out the shrubbery that I knocked down to get there.
But, just as it felt like I had taken in my surrounded I was taken away from my view of the cottage. I started to see flashes of places and things that I sort of recognized. The ruins of a building with lot's of windows that I eventually realized was my neighborhood's library, but once that happened I was shown something else: An overgrown road, with big chunks of asphalt sticking out of swamp water, I eventually noticed half of a sign sticking out of the dirt and realized it was one of the streets leading up to my nephew's highschool. Then my vision shifted again.
Over and over, mind you this entire time I'm still in a vegetative state with my face shoved into a clay brick, I'm shown these random scenes of shrubbery and stuff only for me to recognize something about them, and for my vision to shift to something else. It didn't feel like I knew what I was doing, it was like I was hypnotized and my eyes just glazed over what I saw until the synapses in my brain went off and I recognized the place.
I swear this went on for at least an hour, and the more it went on the more exhausted I got. I could feel my knees go weak and my back start to hurt from the slouching. But no matter what I did or thought I couldn't get my body to move, I realized I wasn't able to consciously close my eyes, even. My blinking was on autopilot. I started to regret my life and stuff, like, was this how I was going to die? Trapped in some weird thing because I stuck my head into it like an idiot? I just wanted to go home, but when I tried to shut my eyes I saw something flash in from of my vision. Something familiar, that gave me a weak idea.
I focused on the image of my house, the doors, the walls, the windows, the solar panels I installed last year, other random stuff that I thought could only be associated with my house and nobody else's. The vision of my house came to me, and I recognized it, and I even saw the footprints of my boots as I stepped out of it the first time. And I felt weirdly relieved.
And the thing that was like, flashing my vision, tried to move onto something else. But I willed it to stick onto my house, like when you put two different images in front of your left and right eye I could see both my house and something else at once. But I consciously shifted all my attention to my house. My vision tried to shift again but I refused to think about anything else, the living room, my house-phone, my computer. This went on like, 2 or 3 times until suddenly I felt the strength in my legs returns and I literally jumped backwards, sending my face out of the clay tablet and towards the entranceway I came from.
I landed on my ass and for the first time in what felt like forever I was able to consciously breathe again. I flexed my fingers and toes as I stared at the tablet thing that was now swinging idly from the two thick ropes. I half expected something to jump out at me, some men-in-black type guy to pick me up, go "You're not finished yet." and shove me back in, but nothing else happened.
When I regained my bearings I headed straight the hell out, and while I was walking out of the basement I held my hatchet in the other hand, just in case. Fortunately, I was unassaulted, and exited the storehouse with no further damage.
Once I stepped outside I saw that it was about 5 PM, and I tried to put as much distance between me and the storehouse as I could. After a graciously short amount of time, I had made it back home. And now I’m typing this update for you guys.
This is kinda of crazy, but in hindsight, what happened is kind of reminding me of how CDs are read in a disc reader. A laser goes across the surface and grabs the bits of pieces of data that's physically spread around thef the disc, then pieces it together on your computer to make a movie or image or something. Was this shrine thing like... reading my mind, somehow? It was flashing my memories or something, showing me images until I recalled what the place was, and then showing me another. I'm not gonna worry about how, this surreal wilderness is messed up enough. But what I wanna know is if so, if that thing held me there to see what I remembered and recognized, why?
One thing I can say, however, is that I have never been more happy to be home. Regretably, supplies are getting low. My instant hot chocolate is almost gone, so I need to enjoy it while it lasts. While I was away, however, my backyard garden has been doing well, and I can confirm that the wilderness has lot's of resources for you to gather and scavenge, as well as wildlife to hunt down. I certainly won't go hungry, but man, I am already missing the benefits of normal life.
I'm also coming to accept that there are other people out there. Not as priveleged as I was to have the resources to set up all the things I have in my house. The wilderness gives me lot's of room to expand as well, so I think after this week, when I head out again, I'm going to look for survivors and lead them back to my house. I'm thinking of making my place some kind of beacon for people to come to, I can expand the farm, make some shelters--there’s lot’s and lot’s of lumber to go around. Maybe provide a place for a good meal for people to find. Maybe I can figure out a way to put out signs and stuff leading to here.
Afterwards, I can radio someone it to bring a chopper and send people to the larger cities. I think almost dying has burnt out my adventurous spirit a bit, perhaps this is how our ancestors felt when they first began making permanent settlements.
Signing out, y’all. And stay safe out there.
