Why are people suddenly trashing on the Sonic Movies??????
WTF IS HAPPENING? I'm looking at the Sonic Movie tags and I'm starting to see a few people are talking about how it's so far from canon when it comes to the Master Emerald, and I saw someone say we should bully Paramount into fixing Shadow's design.
Point 1: IT'S A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE. With the different iterations of Sonic, a new universe forms. You don't expect the Sonic in Sonic Boom to be the exact same Sonic as the OVA. Most of us kinda killed that mentality when Generations came out. So naturally, the movies are GOING TO HAVE DIFFERENT LORE. This is similar to the whole fiasco with fans of Ninjago (the show) being angry that the Ninjago movie wasn't 1:1 with the show. It's a different universe. There's different rules as to how stuff might work. Please get over it..
Point 2: I'm PRETTY sure that Paramount is going to freshen up Shadow's design for Movie 3. An example that shows this to most likely be the case is the design for Tails. When looking at Tails in the after-credits of Sonic 1 and that same exact scene in Sonic 2, you can tell that there were some design changes between Sonic 1 and 2.
When we first see him in the end credits for Sonic 1, his fur is MUCH more orange, and he has a rounder shape overall. Then we fast forward to when Sonic 2 came out and he looks pretty different. His features are less round, his fur is more yellow (a more accurate color to the games).
Case in point. The reason Shadow looks a little off in the end credits of Sonic 2 is for multiple reasons. First off: referencing the above point, Shadow wasn't on screen for a whole minute. WE ONLY GET 11 SECONDS of him ON SCREEN. It's safe to assume that, compared to the rest of the mobian characters, all the design team needed to be concerned about for Shadow is that he's RECOGNIZABLE.
You can look at this image, and recognize the fact that THIS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, AS A SONIC FAN, *IS* SHADOW.
That's it. That's what his 11 second appearance is for.
Secondly, the angle. Sometimes, looking at a character from one angle, that character's going to look a bit different if you change that angle. Right before the close-up of his eyes, the camera in relation to Shadow, is looking up at him. AND he's in a GLASS TUBE. Of COURSE he's going to look a bit off. OMFG.
I just... I can't help but feel annoyed for both of these cases bc have PEOPLE FORGOTTEN THAT THIS IS A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE WITH ITS OWN RULES?????

i'm really bitter so they've turned around and said season three is no longer about din djarin as the mandalorian (no fucking surprise there given how bullshit the writing is) and that 'the mandalorian' is now exclusively the race and the cult and i didn't sign up for this??? i wanted din's stories and his character development and his progression. i'm just hurt, my comfort show has turned into a nightmare.

If I reblog something.
And you feel the need to 'correct' me because you don't like my tags about a character--i don't care if you say you aren't an anti, your actions are talking pretty loud--don't bother @ me. I'm not going to engage with you, I don't really care what your perspective is, and you're making fandom exhausting instead of fun.
I'm really truly sorry you have no fucking life.

Today on settler bullshitery: Someone trying to whitesplain "those tattoos aren't sacred they're just culturally significant!" in defence of blatant cultural appropriation of a closed cultural practice, then followed up with an "I have Native friends" excuse

Looking into the history of the 3-1-1 TSA rule (because I'm annoyed) and while the event that started it (2006 UK) could have been bad, it gets summed up with just...pay attention. That's it.
Like if the security/TSA guys just look there's no reason you shouldn't be able to carry larger liquids. There are x-ray machines now. You can't hide batteries in a soda bottle. Gosh just sniff the container. "But what if the liquid actually is dangerous. That's not safe." Security is not meant to be a safe job and should not be so tyrannical it punishes innocents. "It will make the lines longer." Hire more people and open more lanes then. "That requires more funding." Take it out of the NSA spending.
My feelings on when they tell me I can't bring a tub peanut butter on a plane because it's a "liquid."

I have an explanation about how the neurodivergent mind processes memories.
Imagine your mind is an office. In this office, you have a filing cabinet and a paper shredder. If you want to remember something, you make a note of it, and put it in the filing cabinet. If you don't, you put it in the paper shredder.
For neurotypicals, they can choose what goes where. They can make a note, and choose to put it in the filing cabinet, and it actually goes into the filing cabinet.
For us neurodivergents, we don't get to decide. The paper shredder decides for us. The shredder takes whatever it wants and most of the time, we get no say in the matter. And the shredder is very hungry, so it eats as many notes as possible, and we can do nothing about it.
And the worst part is, sometimes we try and remember something that got shredded, and we can actually find a small piece of shredder paper with a little bit of the note. But that's all. We can't find any of the other pieces of the note.
It's so fucking annoying.
