weirdest six chaos yet?? six uk tour in seoul seems to have inexplicably changed the blocking of the howard/aywd section of the megasix from (left to right around howard) seymour, cleves, aragon, boleyn, parr to aragon, seymour, cleves, parr, boleyn ??

#six the musical #it seems intentional since they've done it in all the seoul megasixes i've seen so far #it's an odd choice #bc the idnyl section blocking is the same #and the aywd blocking flows into the idnyl section well in the normal version #between this #keeping the “hey!” and all of the queens singing “i dont need your love” together at the end of idnyl #a change which doesnt seem to have been implemented in any other production #six uk tour 2022-23 has had some of the strangest bits of chaos

I loved your tags on my Glee x Six gifset! Interesting to know Storm Lever brings a raspiness to Boleyn because that fits Santana so much more than the cast recording does! Like that's my main problem with giving her Don't Lose Ur Head, the sort of preppiness of it isn't very Santana-esque but I think she could make it work. And I suppose it is a sort of process of elimination because imo all the others fit so well. idk why i'm a little obsessed with the idea of brittany doing the k howard roast lol like with her more nonchalant and like deadpan delivery :P also howard i think is also kind of portrayed like more shallow on the surface but her song goes into her complexity but then even after that she has a moment but just almost immediately goes back to like happy/sassy howard which is a little sad and maybe a little brittany

misc six observations:

the pantages is the most gorgeous theater i’ve ever been in (not that i’ve been in many but u know)

it’s also along the walk of fame and kirsten chenoweth’s star is right by the door (lena horne's is just across the street)

they didn’t advertise my show as accessible but it was open-captioned and asl-interpreted (but it looks like both things were only viewable to ppl seated on the left side)

an old couple next to me were trying to figure out which “chopin composition” the pre-show music was? (they’re all piano covers of pop songs) v confused

the “queen bios” in the playbill list aragon’s interests as “religion, sewing, dancing, and a bit more religion”, boleyn’s says she’s remembered for “headlessness”. parr’s talks about her friendship w mary and that her mom was LIW to some previous wives, but makes no mention of the fact that aragon was her godmother(/namesake) or that she married seymour’s brother

the minute greensleeves started playing, people started cheering. it was so fun

khaila was born to play aragon that's all im saying. literally nonstop applause until the dluh intro

storm's boleyn tiptoed that line between "idk what's going on" and "smart and cunning" so so well

cleves did the ponytail-pull instead of seymour? idk if this is a recent change but it has Interesting implications characterization-wise lmao also it was just funny because olivia had to significantly reach up to get to courtney's hair

speaking of which, both nat and cmack's new wigs look a lot fancier than their old ones somehow

im pretty sure nmp actually started crying during hos (which, even though i've heard her sing it a million times, was every bit as beautiful as i thought it would be)

hoh live is an Experience in the best way, they just looked like they were having the best time bouncing around the stage

the audience member picked for get down was so good/confident olivia cheered for her the entire time instead of doing the "this is my song" bit after shfghjkl

get down is already such a lively song but olivia's version amps it up even more like i was in stitches during the intro and the entire audience was fired up by the end

the k-howard roast didnt get as many laughs as it should've :// i felt so bad for courtney because she delivered those lines flawlessly

and then loud and immediate applause after aywd??? L audience tbh

(also interesting note – the asl interpreter didn’t sign for applause after the song like she did for all the others)

natalie's "I DIED" was every bit as amazing as all the audios. also she basically chased khaila offstage while saying that line sdkf

i think gabriela is my new favorite parr im so obsessed w her take on idnyl and her acting (even in the background) is impeccable

there were some obvious mic issues – both cmack and storm were a bit quieter than everyone else and khaila was way louder; all three of them left the stage at various points for unknown reasons (but there wasn't a show stop and i dont think most people noticed someone missing)

this cast's chemistry was i n s a n e like the little interactions and they way they reacted to each other plus the harmonies…10/10 no notes

speaking of which. there was a really sweet moment toward the end of idnyl ("why should i tell that story?") where aragon puts her hand on howard's knee comfortingly

standing ovation after six!!! idk if this is a regular occurrence but they bowed an extra time because of all the clapping lol

except then people started leaving, so courtney had to start the megasix early and you could barely hear her over the audience

but it was ok cuz people stayed on their feet throughout the megasix too and again the girls took a really long time leaving the stage after bc the cheers kept getting louder!!!

tldr i had the BEST time and if the tickets weren’t so expensive id go again and again <3

Hi! So I'm embarrassed to say I never realized until this week that the end of IDNYL while Parr is adlibbing/riffing has the other 5 queens on two different lines of lyrics ("I don't need your love, no, no" and "No, no I don't, no I don't need it", idk how I missed the second one this long). Do you have any knowledge of how this split works across productions? So far I've seen it's B/C on Broadway & UKT, A/C on WE, and C/H on the cruises getting the "No, no I don't, no I don't need it" lyric

I think that is something defined by harmonies instead of roles. With the first bit (I don't need your love, no, no) going to the 2-3 queens singing the higher harmonies and the second (No, no I don't, no I don't need it) to the 2-3 queens in the lower harmonies. Instead of having specific queens for each part. And since harmonies change for each cast who sings what in this part will change too.

2-3 for both because its five of them doing chorus there so not sure how the split goes. From what you say it seems its three on the higher harmony and two on the lower.

Also its not embarrasing, they are doing two lines that come from the same chorus at the same time as background chorus to Parr. And that is the big singing moment for Parr so its not weird you didn't hear that before.

Rhianne sounds so strong vocally, reminds me of Roxanne’s Aragon. I wasn’t expecting that deeper tone but when she started singing I was blown away, literally.

Baylie’s energy is off the roof, and they are definitely going to become one of my favourite Boleyn’s. They are serving Aussie, energy and nostalgia and im here for it.

Koko seems like such a badass Howard. The way she held herself throughout the megasix and through the AYWD bit she seemed incredible. Reminds me a lot of Jaina and OMG WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE BEND DOWN BIT IN THE TRANSITION TO IDNYL LIKE WHAT

Overall, they are such a strong cast and work so well together, look so well together and sound so well together love this cast with all my heart omg

Always thinking about how in the student run of Six, the IDNYL climax was directed at the audience/history at large rather than Henry in particular bc the queens realized that they were so caught up in competing for the approval/love of the audience that they ended up devaluing themselves and harming each other

JASMINE’S SEYMOUR IS SO WHOLESOME!! Her speaking voice is in the higher side but she still has RANGE! Like when she goes into the “BOO HOOO BABY MARY HAD THE CHICKEN POCKS” line, she straight up SCREAMS IT. So much so that Aragon was against one of the pillars in the set and started to side step away and oml

OLIVIA’S CLEVES IS SO COOL!! You could tell that she loves being onstage both in and out of character. At different points in the show, when the audience applause, she really hams it up

After the reveal, she was admiring herself and turning around herself with her arms out and 👌👌👌

DIDI HOWARD IS SO HEARTBREAKINGLY GOOD! The roast was played more straightforward WHICH MADE THE ROAST SO MUCH BETTER! At the end of the number, she was audibly making crying noises and tensing up

also during the show, she would have the body language of a teenager (hunching in a little, being a bit hesitant to take the spotlight, moving her feet and swaying back and forth a little while standing still) WHICH MAKES IT HURT MORE HOW YOUNG KATHERINE HOWARD REALLY WAS

Gabrielle’s Parr was So Powerful. She stays a bit in the background but when it’s time for IDNYL, SHE BRINGS OUT THE RIFFS AND HIGH NOTES. So yeah, underrated queen
