Thoughts on 3D

So Jungkook's collab with Jack Harlow is out. It is catchy; it will go viral. I have purchased it; I will add it to my new releases playlists--same as I do for all our boys.

But while the dancing was cool and JK's parts are okay (I'm not thrilled that the word "girl" is used literally 20 times, but I get what the western music industry is), I was--I need to be honest here--really taken aback and unhappy with how misogynistic Jack Harlow's rap lyrics were. As far as I'm concerned, he's absolutely unnecessary, and I'll be supporting the alternate version with a lot more enthusiasm.

A deeper look at the lyrics and more of my thoughts are under the cut if you're interested (but by clicking, you're agreeing to keep it respectful in the comments or you'll get banned.)

Setting young women up in a line and talking about how sleeping with just one is too boring but sleeping with four is whorish? Yeah, miss me with it.

Then there's this:

You won't regret me (You won't regret me) Champagne confetti (Champagne confetti) I wanna see it In motion In 3D (Show it to me, girl, now, why?)

I was given to understand that "ABG" stands for "Asian Baby Girl" and refers to an Asian party girl who likes clubbing, wearing excessive makeup and tattoos, and revealing clothes, etc.

I also learned from Urban Dictionary—which can be an unreliable site with outdated or incorrect information—that "champagne" has referred to underage girls in the past and "confetti" or nowadays “champagne confetti” refers to orgasm, or sometimes when a group of men or women surround someone, masturbate, and then ejaculate on them.

Not even going to get into the shrooms thing. I'm not in a hyper conservative country with harsh punishments for those type of drugs so... I was a bit taken aback about a song about being fucked right, and now there's lyrics about what amounts to harem girls.

*sigh* Do you know how much I hope I'm reading into things incorrectly? Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding the innuendo, but this is what urban dictionary says. I'm 44 and live in a cave. Maybe I'm wrong.

But in any case, the vibe of Jack's parts in the video was not coming off respectful.

I don't care how many other rap songs objectify and insult women--I won't get behind any content that does. And don't even try to gaslight me or other ARMY into saying we should like this because it's comparatively worse in other rap songs. Don't try to suppress any discourse about it, either--let women discuss how they feel about how they are represented. Don't police women. Don't silence women.

BTS' rap music got so much better once they incorporated feminist feedback, so I'm used to a higher standard and I won't be lowering those standards for anyone. I have no hang ups about sex, but please miss. me. with. misogynistic. bullshit.

Then again, it seems some of the rap hyungs were on board with this.

So I guess industry pros have a different take on stuff like this!

*shrug*

Okay, we have established that I really don't like Jack Harlow's contributions to this song. Which means I'll support the alternative. Thank goodness they had the foresight to provide an alternative!

Now I can work for JK's charts in a way that doesn't aggravate my conscience. All good. Enough said on 3D.

Personally? I really hope JJK1 showcases JK's range of genres, but also has a range of topics besides pursuing girls or being cool.

I just can't vibe with a fuckboy persona; I never liked Justin Bieber or Justin Timberlake for that very reason, even if some of their songs sound fine. Now, if Jungkook really admires their style and wants to pursue it, I'm not going to rag on him for it. Of course not. It's his choice and I can respect people's choices without making the same choices myself.

I will always try to support our members as far as I can, even if not everything is my cup of tea.

But I can't help hoping for something personal and authentic and substantive, when it's just Jungkook coming to us without a collab. (And with Scooter at the helm for an all-English EP, I guess I'm not holding my breath. But maybe this is all part of the learning and growing process. Time will tell.)

Please know that I don't expect other people to suit me and my tastes, but neither will I enthusiastically support content with my time and money when they don't suit me at all or actually really turn me off, ya feel me? It's a real and respectful relationship I have with BTS and their music; not performative. I don't follow along quietly out of obligation, but rather a sincere joy to participate.

I love Jungkook deeply. He's a sweet and intelligent and kind-hearted young man. Amazingly talented and humble. Sincere, open to being vulnerable, protective of those whom he loves. He donates to kid's hospitals, for goodness sake. Jeon Jungkook is a good egg.

I guess I'm just sort of feeling a bit whelmed by the type of music that is in vogue these days. JK worked hard, he did well on his parts. I just am hoping his album showcases some of the emotional depth and meaningful thoughts I have seen from him in the past, if I'm being purely honest. *shrug*

Those are my less-than-two cents. Of course, you may have a vastly different perspective and I appreciate that. Just please keep it respectful of all members and each other in the comments here. It's been a long day and I desperately need some real rest now. I'm trusting I can post this and not come back to a warzone.

Wait, but I love these things! The shipping thing - cause it teaches you about your followers AND your ocs. It's like a 2 for 1 deal!

Anyway! I would love to see who you would pair me with. I'm shy, and quiet. I prefer reading, writing, and listening to music over any social event, and I love listening to other people talk, even if I don't have anything to add. Do tend to be very family oriented, but thats a side effect of coming from a large family. I'm average height, and at the moment my hair is green. I wear glasses all of the time.

Honestly, I'm really excited to give these a try and see how they go!

I've read this over multiple times, and read through every oc notes that I have in my discord server where I store all my ocs stuff! So here's my thoughts! I'm not sure if these are accurate but here we go:

At first Storm came to mind, and hear me out I know he's a chaotic mess and not everyone can deal with him, he's a mess okay and we roll with it. But he's good with everyone you name it, he can fit in with everyone. Storm is intense just like his namesake, he doesn't always adore social events. Sure he can handle them, but not everyone can handle him if that makes sense? He'd never force you to come to social events, you wanna stay home? Bet, he's all for it. He might even suggest some music, he has some pretty good songs on his playlist, so of you need some songs bet consider it done! He can talk a lot, when he's super excited he'll talk really fast, please tell him to settle down he needs it.

If you're okay with it, he'd ask you questions about the book your reading, it gets him to settle down and he gets to listen to you what more could he want? Storm would absolutely love your hair, he'd think it's so cool! And your glasses? He loves them! If you need him to meet your family at any point, that's okay. Storm wants to make it easy for you, he can handle it even if he is secretly stressed but he won't let it show.

He'd absolutely read to you at night if you ever want him to.

I know Storm is too intense for some people, he's just not for everyone so I wanted to add someone who's on the quieter side of things.

Frey! I haven't talked about him too much so this also gives everyone the chance to learn about him. He's not chaotic unless put with anyone who is relatively chaotic, then he will raise hell. His ideal date would probably be sitting in silence with a book, which by the way Frey will annotate for you which when he's done he'll give it to you. Whenever he has to leave, he'll leave sticky notes for you to find with reminders and poetry that reminds him of you. He might even say that whenever he leaves, you keep apart of him here.

Social events aren't for him, unless Crimson and Pluto drag him and Bear there. Frey would never let someone disrespect you, it doesn't get past him ever. He always loves to know what you're reading, and if he can get you some new books to try. He'd be your biggest supporter when it comes to your writing. He's not an open book, and he doesn't talk too much not like Storm.

This boy is soft for you but will always deny it, you've stolen his heart but he's not complaining and he never will. Whenever you take your glasses off, he'll gently kiss your nose. He loves your glasses, he thinks your hair makes you unique! Frey tends to be an asshole but he won't let you see that, or he tries.

Even though you're shy and quiet, Frey isn't put off by that. He'll always come to your defense, nothing gets past him but he also knows when to keep his mouth shut but that doesn't always work. The first time he meets your family, he's tense he just stands there very out of place but as time goes on he gets better and eventually he will fit in.

The Irosami Playlist is Here!

I've had some requests in the past for my Irosami playlist (okay, really just @middleofnowhere92, but I'm pretending this has broad appeal) and finally found time to compile it. pocketing her phone after reading tendous message, she opens the door waving to a couple friends and offers friendly smile taking her seat. a pair of pale green eyes follow her. after yesterday suna did a little research about her y/n y/l/n the bassist and youngest in the band called 4u, she has quite a big following on twitter, she's really nice and interacts with the fans. looking at her now you can't imagine her on stage suna thought. breaking away from his thoughts as the teacher walks in. spouting for about what feels like hours and the students taking notes, finally lunch approaches. y/n jumps from her seat grabbing her case she walks to the third year hallway. waving to her friends they walk to her, tendou wrapping his arms around her “y/n!!!!!! i missed you” laughing as she hugged him back “tendou!!! i missed you toooo.” she turns to the grey haired male, “semisemi!!” she says giving him a hug, he rolls his eyes and hugs her back “and ushi!!” she turns to the brunette to which he pats her head “good afternoon y/n.” as they go to the lunch room to grab their lunch, they walk to one of the music rooms they usually occupy. a beep from her phone grabs her attention seeing her friend atsumu asking if him his twin and their friend can join for lunch, “hey guys you dont mind if atsumu and his friends come join us?” she says setting down her case against the wall. “nah you can invite them, atsumu is our biggest hype man” tendou says, grabbing his drum sticks from his back pocket. texting him its cool she goes to unzip her bass. “oh ms lady ive missed you” she says hugging the instrument, “i can't believe you two and always wanting to play, dont yall have any other hobby?” semi says, grabbing the schools given guitar setting the speaker up for y/n. tendou gives a scoff “semisemi dont act like you hate hearing us play i see you listening to our covers alllll the timeeeee” he says “yeah semi besides we have a concert soon and it wouldnt be bad to have an audience” y/n says walking to semi to connect her bass to the speaker when the door opens, entering is atsumu in the middle, osamu on his left, and a mystery guy in the back. setting her bass down running up to the blond “tsumu!!” giving him a hug “y/n!!” he hugs her back, she waves to osamu, who shes met on an occasion. looking towards the dark haired guy she walks up to him, noticing shes seen him somewhere. “youre suna right? we're in the same class?” she says giving him a hand and a awkward smile, nodding at her words. “hope its okay im here” he says taking her hand giving a slight shake. “nah dont worry its nice to have a different face, seeing tsumu is getting boring” turning around to the male. “what she means to say is we could use practice in front of new people” the grey haired male says giving a small laugh when tendou scoffs at him, both guys walking towards the small group. “this is semi and this is tendou” she says introducing them. when the introductions are over the two males go back to setting up, y/n walks the newcomers to the sitting area “here you guys can sit, im sure you all know ushijima” on hearing his name he looks up from his name giving a small head bow. they all sit “any recommendations tsumu?” y/n says walking to her bass making sure everything was good, looking towards the small group. “y/n you know my favorites” atsumu says stealing one of his brothers onigiri. y/n laughs and rolls her eyes, turning to tendou “anything you wanna try tori?” tendou looks at her with a smile “y/n lets show semi whatweve been working on” hearing this semi looked at them “what do you guys mean? what did you two do” y/n chuckles at the grey hairs doubtful expression “mr semisemi you know your favorite mcr song” when she sees him nod she continues “me and tori learned it” she says pushing him lightly. semi looked at her with wide eyes then at tendou, looking at semi tendou flicked his drum stick between his fingers with a nod. “wow semi cant believe you, we spent so much hours perfecting a my chemical romance for your sap self and he doesn't believe us y/nie i might

” tendou says fake sniffing. the little group in the back beyond confused, atsumu clearing his throat “have you three forgotten us already, wheres our show” ushijima nodding his head “yeah why are you guys being so vague” tendou snickers “dont worry you three and wakatoshi we have decided to play a new song or well cover i should say” “yeah and its semi’s favorite band you know the one that he wears on his shirts?” ushijima looking towards the girl after hearing her statement he nods. “okay can we play now ive been waiting to show my skills and get our lovely semi's opinion” y/n says removing her pick, both boys giving a ‘yeah’. finally tendou does the countdown. suna looks at all three of them with slight excitement in his stomach, ‘is this a new song im going to hear?’ before he could think of anything else, semi started playing a few chords by himself and y/n starting to add her own strums then tendou adding drums. sunas eyes widen at how well all the sounds blended together, freezing in his spot when semi started singing, when hitting the chorus y/n joins him. suna looking at her, he felt like he had been put in a trance, feeling like theres a spotlight on her when she starts nodding her head seeing her tongue sticking out when stringing the instrument. towards the end you can see y/n lose focus and her eye twitches, ending the song she sighs. “hey sorry about the end” waving to the guys to her left with a frown. hearing applause from the group the frown doesnt last long. “WHOOO!!!!! THAT WAS MY BESTIES GO SEMI! GO TENDOU! GO Y/N!!” atsumu gets up and yells. “that was so good what the hell that was yer first time too?” he says going up to the group, high-fiving y/n. “i mean me and tendou practiced together but semi basically has every song by them memorized but together? yeah our first.” tendou getting up to get his water that was next to ushijima. semi joining the fake blond and the girl, patting her on her back “that was a good first for us i can tell you and tendou worked hard, we're definitely adding it to the set list.” getting a laugh from both of them semi walks to the small group. “hey man that was really good, you have a nice voice” suna says as semi approaches, semi turned to him surprised “oh thank you im glad you enjoyed, do you listen to our stuff?” he says taking a seat next to him. “ive recently just started, i hope that doesnt sound too weird” the dark haired suddenly getting a little embarrassed, chuckling “its not weird i promise, well its good you listen to us or im sure it would've been awkward to just be here” nodding along to what he said. tendou going back to the drums “are you cowards tapping out now?” “COWARDS?!?!” y/n yells back turning around “i am no coward tendou satori i'll make you eat those words semi get over here” she said grabbing semis attention and shooing atsumu back to his seat. chuckling as he sat back down, turning to suna “howd ya like em? theyre good huh?” suna rolling his eyes “im not going to help inflate your ego tsumu” “yeah tsumu yer big ego is not cute” gasping to their remarks “you guys are so mean to me, i introduce you to nice music and even the artists and this is the thanks i get” before any could respond tendou starts clicking his sticks. starting this one is tendou with a slower sound, y/n entering second then semi with vocals. y/n leans down to mess with something by her foot turning a notch noises like static come out adding to the music, coming up fast she starts adding her vocals complimenting semis. pressing on the box she leans down as more noises come out. atsumu leans over to sunas ear “thats a pedal that holds other sounds and can help stretch other sounds” suna giving him a nod. towards the end y/n reaches down to the pedal again adding a distorted sound before adding her last bit of ‘oohs’ before the song ends. everyone clapping as the members stay still for s bit before y/n dramatically bows “youre so welcome lovely audience” she says blowing kisses to them, laughing at her atsumu jumps up and down pretending to be a crazy fan “oh y/n you were so go

od i love you y/n!!!” y/n laughing at him. “hey atsumu what about me!” tendou asks swinging his hand “howd i do?” “oh tendou you were so good, i love you too tendou!!!” he says swinging his arm back. tendou satisfied with his response nods his head, “and with that lets play one more i still want time to actually eat before we play again later.” “yeah lets try ‘crybaby’ we haven't done that in awhile” semi says getting in position.“remember y/n you do the verses” y/n nods clearing her throat “go tori” she says and tendou starts the counting again. starting the counting fast he gets one beat then y/n starts off with singing, swinging her bass back she grabs the mic. suna cracks a smile nodding his head a little as he remembers this song on their youtube, atsumu whistling when y/n dips down her mic as she sings, letting the boys have a solo in between verses she bobs her head. the last few seconds of the song she swings the instrument back as she steps on the pedal creating feedback, as semi goes to vocals she starts getting a solo with tendou playing, y/n leans forward and her and semi sing the rest of the song. after the last note they all look out of breath. clapping for them again letting them catch their breath, y/n starts laughing “i forget how hard that song is towards the end” laughing with her tendou nods “its literally the last 50 seconds that get the hardest” “alright lets clean up” semi says laughing at both of their bored looks they send him. finishing up they all go to the group whove are talking among themselves. sighing as she sits y/n takes the seat next to suna, “so howd you like the songs?” she says with a smile “they were good though i only recognized the last one” he replies, “tsumu told me you started listening to us recently so i thought or well semi thought wed show off a bit with our best song being that” she says with a smile grabbing her bottle. a small smile appears on his face “oh hey tsumu told me youre like really good in your classes and i really need help in history and since we have that group project coming up do you wanna pair up?” she says setting her bottle down grabbing a bag of chips. “yeah i dont mind as long as you actually do something and i can help you study if your grade is that bad” he says. “thatd actually help me out a lot i really appreciate it” she lets a breath out. after that the two spent all lunch just talking, the conversation coming easy for both of them. hearing the bell ring y/n hugs her friends and walks with suna to their class, pairing up in the project the teacher had given them in their period. after class before y/n rushed out she passed him her number with a wink “text me for the deets foxy boy.” ‘foxy boy? suna thought to himself shaking his head texting her with a simple ‘hey its suna’ and heading home.

Where can one watch the astro boy cartoons. I only ever saw that one cgi movie they made around the same year as Coraline, and I wanna see the actual show because it looks really fun and interesting. (Also eto ranger where can I see that too?)

First of all anon I just want you to know that I love u for asking me this, just letting me whip out all my big interests

So admittedly my Astro Boy knowledge is severely out of date, as more legit websites to watch the various series have come and gone, but as of now, here's what I've been able to find. If anyone has more legit links please feel free to share them.

I'm also about to drop a whole bunch of information on you so like please bear with me

The dubs for the 60s, 80s, and 2003 dubs can be found here though I recommend bringing an adblocker. I must also add a disclaimer that due to a lot of weird dubbing and localization situations, the dubs are technically not the complete experience

For example, the 60s version has 193 episodes in total, but only 104 were dubbed and not in chronological order (also this is literallythe first anime dub ever so they took a LOT of creative liberties with cuts and localization). You can find the rest of the series here, but it's raw (meaning no subtitles) and also the website is in Chinese. That said it's pretty easy to tell what's happening even if you don't speak Japanese (aside from the second to last episode), though I'd recommend watching the dub first to have a foundation.

The 80s dub spliced the first 2 episodes together really weirdly as well as cut out certain scenes and even a song or two, but you can find it subbed here (though I highly recommend an ad adblocker)

The 2003 dub has a whole host of weird cuts and localization changes and we even lost a whole episode and had it replaced with a clip show. You can find it subbed here.

If you like these and want to get into the handful of spinoffs, come back to me and I can hook you up (they are considerably less finicky to find and watch lmao)

As for Eto Ranger, it is also not immune to weird translation problems so I must disclaimer these too ksjdjd. It never had an English dub, but there are a couple of dueling fansubs that I will spare you my long and personal history with for now. The MugenX subs are a more faithful translation, but due to losing their translation checker, they are a lot rougher in places after a certain point, both grammatically and in timing. Then you have what I call the Baffle subs, which are cleaner and do use the rough MugenX translation as a base, but take a lot more... creative liberties with the editing and translation. I am admittedly heavily biased towards the MugenX subs, which I have placed in a playlist here so you don't have to hop channels (just make sure that after episode 15 you set the captions to English (Canada), though episode 28 is the only one without this option). If that sort of thing doesn't bother you though, you can just watch straight from the beginning with captions set to regular English here

If you sat through this whole explanation and weren't horribly daunted by any of this and actually want to watch these, know that I love and respect you so fucking much

So I’m just gonna answer about the fic rn cuz the others require way too much thought for my brain rn lol. I am so glade that you likes that song! And I’m so glade that you thought it was perfect! Because my brain connected it and I was like jumping for joy have to tell you. Ooohhh, a Steve playlist. I have a long ass one so if you like I can give you a few songs that I think fits Steve perfectly. Lol that playlist is so long cuz I also add songs about what I think Steve will like/vibe to. And half the time I just see song tittles that I think will work for him and not actually listen to the song. Lol 😂

And AHHH!! I am soo excited! You just made me sooo pumped. Also you are so right Steve is an interesting character to write/talk about/write his viewpoints. I especially loved that scene where Steve was wanting to tell his parents so that they don’t view his as this like disappointment/stupid person. And that paralleling with sunshine wanting to tell her parents but because she feels so fucking guilty that they don’t know her. And how they are trying their best to understand her. The angst!! I feel like that would be Steve’s view of it like when Dustin mentions that they could be American heroes in season 3 Steve immediately perks up. And is so invested!! Like please he just wants recognition and validation so badly!! And yes (how am I ducking blanking out on these characters names) the ‘detective duo’ being so into it and I can’t wait to see what happens with them. Not gonna lie I thought they were also going to get trapped with sunshine and the others in the elevator. I was so fucking ready for it! I created a whole ass scenario in my head where they both just come clean about their investigations and just completely hammer them for answers. And then Steve sees both sunshine and Dustin be completely uncomfortable so he gets so angry that he accidentally reveals that his father wasn’t a good person at all. Which I can’t wait to see why his father knows.!! The only two options I see are that his father was forced into it or that he enjoyed doing it. But I’m also not the creator of the story so these are obviously speculations. Also I love that you didn’t have them with the scoops troops! But also I am so excited to see what you do with them!!! And yay! The twins I love them so much!!! They are so cute! Also I love how you go into the labs kids trauma and how this started because you like/want more of the lab kids. It’s such a unique aspect that you handle so well! Also I love that you make us wait to see if Steve and sunshine are going to get together. Because I’m a lot of the fics I read if someone is from the lab and they’re paired with anyone it’s usually so fast. Kind of like Mike and El in the show. I love them but they really should have waited a little bit to figure out their feelings for one another. And I love that in that fic Steve is also hyper aware of the fact that she doesn’t know how a relationship like that would work or just realizes that she’s traumatized and wouldn’t want to add any confusing feelings.

Oh yes!! send me some songs :) I feel like all of the party would have pretty complicated relationships with their parents, even if it was more one sided because they have to lie about everything. and it was so fun to like create what like my own version of steve's parents! (even though they're pretty awful) but he just wants validation! and you're so right, the whole "american hero thing" seemed like the best way for him to get that without spilling his guts to his parents. and then sunshine is hit with the same problem, but she just feels incrediably guilty about lying to her parents. while at the same time she doesn't want them to know about her time in the lab. and don't worry the duo, calum and tamera, will make another apparence before the 4th of july is over (but I don't wanna spoil it!) all I will say is that they'll start to play a bigger part as s3 ends in s4. I'm such a sucker for slowburn type romances. like their relationship does mirror mike and el's in some aspects but in a little more grown up way (while like still being a confusing and fun little romance). but yeah I've read a lot of fics where everything moves really fast, and I really wanted to foucs on how everyone's tramua and shit affects all the "normal" aspects of their lives
