Confessions
You asked for fluff? You get all the fluff.
----------------------
Arulmozhi watched his elder sister and Vanthiyathevan standing next to each other, and smiled softly. He knew that they had fallen head along in love, and knowing both very well, he absolutely supported their union.
Speaking of… his eyes darted to the small window where he had seen his favourite pair of wide, doe eyes, and a thought flashed in his mind. Before his brother left, he wanted Aditha to know.
“Akka,” he called out softly, smiling when a radiant Kundavai looked at him.
“Thambi?”
“Did you come alone?” he knew he had an amused look on his face, causing Aditha to look at him in surprise.
“What do you think, Arulmozhi?” Kundavai seemed to be challenging him, though her eyes twinkled merrily, knowing expression causing him to smile.
“Where is she, Akka?” he asked, suddenly turning serious. “She came all this way, but has not met me yet.”
“Thambi, you know how she is, don’t you?”
He nodded, and said, “I do, that is why I know she is not far from you. She is like your shadow at all times, so how is she at a distance away from you?”
“Who are you both talking about?” Aditha asked, looking from one sibling of his to the other.
“Vanathi, Anna,” the two replied together, looking at each other, neither noticing Aditha raise his eyebrow. Of course he knew who they were talking about, but for Arulmozhi to use her name…
“Vanathi, thambi?”
Arulmozhi looked at his brother with a perplexed expression, before suddenly realizing what his brother was pointing out, and he smiled.
“Anna, if I cannot call the woman I will marry by her name, who can I?” Arulmozhi responded, calm but paying attention to the excited sparkle in Kundavai’s eyes. His sister’s whole hearted approval radiated from every pore of her being, and she looked like she would rush off to Vanathi in that moment.
“So you decided, thambi?” Kundavai asked, joy seeping through her tone.
“Akka, I decided a long time ago,” he smiled softly. “But I had to wait for the right time, or so I thought. These near death experiences have taught me differently.”
Kundavai nods and smiles.
“Shall I go and call her then?”
“Ilavarasi, I do not think she will be in your rooms,” Vanthiyathevan interrupted, giving Kundavai a knowing look, which she returned the same way.
“Why will she not, nanba?” Arulmozhi was now curious as to what his friend knew that he did not.
“Adhai naan solla koodadhu, Ilavarase, (I should not be the one telling you, Prince),” Vanthiyathevan said, though he looked apologetically. Arulmozhi could not help but smile at the loyalty he displayed.
“So she is busy making medicine with the bikshus?” he asked knowingly. He smiled further at the startled look his sister had on her face, and said, “Akka, did you forget how well I know her? I may have been around her only for a short time, but I know her like I know myself.”
“Thambi, are you saying you are in love?” Aditha sounded surprised, but also happy, despite not anticipating it.
“Very much so, Anna. But I do not want to discuss this further with anyone other than Vanathi. Can any one of you help me get her to talk to me?”
He knew he was looking at his elder sister imploringly, but who better than Vanathi’s uyir thozhi to help him?
“I do have an idea,” Kundavai said, smiling suddenly. “It will require a little subterfuge, but I am sure you are up to it.”
****
“Vanathi, nee paada vendum, kanne, (Vanathi, you have to sing, my darling),” Kundavai needled her friend.
“Akka, I have been singing illaya?” She asked softly. “On your insistence, I’ve been singing Thevarams to Ponniyin Selvar since we came here.”
“Darling, why are you so morose?” asked Kundavai, caressing Vanathi’s cheek.
“I just feel like I am the reason your thambi got into this misfortune, Akka,” she sighed softly. “I am not able to shake that thought.”
“Illai Vanathi, nee ninaipadhu thavaru (No Vanathi, what you are thinking is wrong),” said Kundavai. “Arulmozhi’s horoscope says clearly that he will go through trials but come out of them successfully, and so far, every prediction has turned out right. In fact, what the josier said about you too should turn out correctly.”
“And what prediction is that, Akka?”
Vanathi stiffened but also relaxed when she heard his soothing voice reach her ears. Her love has come to Akka’s chambers?
She slowly turned around, meeting his eyes before lowering them, a blush covering her cheeks.
“The josier stated that Vanathi’s horoscope is an extremely fortunate one. She has very powerful Maangalya bhagyam in it,” Kundavai said. “Furthermore, she will bring prosperity to the one she marries, which Patti says is a sign by just looking at her, her horoscope is not needed to know that.”
“That I can say is very true, Akka,” he nods at Kundavai, who smiles at Vanathi and quickly slips out of the chambers. A shocked Vanathi is about to leave, but Arulmozhi moves to stand in front of her, ensuring that she stays and hears him.
“Ilavarase…”
“Ilavarasi,” he acknowledged her, smiling when she flashed a small pout at him. It had not taken him long to use her given name, even before he left for Eezham. To call her Ilavarasi now would only serve to tease her, and thus, he couldn’t help himself.
Vanathi was about to say something, though she stopped herself and looked down instead.
“I have to ask you something, Ilavarasi. May I?”
Her big doe eyes, now filled with a tinge of hurt, looked at him, and Arulmozhi couldn’t help but feel her emotions as his own.
She nodded, a small frown etched on her face, causing his heart to ache.
“Why did you not come to see me, Ilavarasi? Didn’t Vanathi want to see her Yaanai Pagan?”
Vanathi looked up with wide eyes, wider than he had seen before, understanding blooming on her face.
“Ayya, I didn’t want to disturb you,” she said softly, looking at him still, his heart stuttering at the stars glowing in her eyes.
“Vanathi,” he whispered softly. “How can you disturb me?”
“Ponniyin Selvare, you are the Prince of the Chozha dynasty,” Vanathi whispered. “Who am I..”
She trailed off, taking a deep breath, fortifying herself to add something, but Arulmozhi interrupted her.
“The beloved daughter of Siriya Velar, the adopted and just as beloved daughter Periya Velar, the uyir thozhi of my beloved Kundavai Akka, the star pupil of Patti Sembiyan, and the queen of my heart.”
Vanathi stared at Arulmozhi, whose eyes had softened impossibly, though the love he held seemed to fill every pore of him, his eyes, his smile, his body language even. Arulmozhi was tired of hiding the love Vanathi’s presence inflamed in him. She was like the light that his body needed to move, and till he had met her, he had not understood what his Anna had meant when he had said the same for Nandini.
“S-Swami,” she stuttered out, before blushing, about to correct herself, when he stopped her, a bright smile alighting his face, making him seem like the most handsome man on the planet to Vanathi.
He gently tugged her by her hand closer, before making her sit on the settee on his left, allowing her time to understand the implications. Her grip tightened, and he smiled, knowing she understood what he was trying to say.
“When the turbulence of the sea got too strong, and I could feel the ship rocking against the furious waves,” he rubbed a thumb across her knuckles in reflex, hearing her distressed sound at his words. “It was your face I saw. When I thought I was going to lose my life, I thought of my Kingdom, my parents and my siblings and people, of course, but also of you, Vanathi. I could not help but think I had failed you by not returning, especially after your secret olai through Vanthiyathevan.”
“Swami,” she whispered, a tear falling down her rosy cheek, that he automatically wiped.
“Do not cry, anbe (dearest). I am here now,” he said softly. “I could not forget the stars of your eyes or the soothing breeze of your laughter. Nor could I forget the expressions and stories you weave in your doe eyes. The truth is, I could not even look at another woman when I had you waiting back for me at Pazhayarai. Ennavale (She who is mine), do you not know that the song my heart sings is the same as the one yours does?”
Vanathi stared back at him, luminous eyes glowing like the stars that he often saw in the night sky, every single twinkle the glow of her maan vizhigal (doe eyes). Her ruby red lips widened into a helplessly in love smile, and he knew he sported the same expression.
“I do have an important question for you, Vanathi.”
“Order me, Swami,” she smiled softly, glowing like the moon that tended to sooth him.
“Will you parade with me in Nagai tomorrow through the festival? On my left? As my future wife?” he looked at her seriously, trying to convey his request the way it was meant to be.
Her eyes widened and tears shone in them. The blush on her golden cheeks told him it was happiness, and he waited, in hope.
“As you wish, Swami. Will you take me on your elephant then, Yaanai Paaga?” she laughed at her own words, but the nod that came from him made her eyes widen with joy.
Arulmozhi smiled back with just as much joy, in complete content on having confessed his feelings finally for his beloved, and her joy at them was all he had needed. With Vanathi by his side, supporting him, he knew that even the dangers and tumult waiting for him in Thanjai could be faced easily.
With a smile at her, he relaxed himself, talking to her softly about things unsaid, and coaxing her to talk about the same.

Thuyil - Kundavai & Vanthiyadevan Oneshot
As the fingers counted the dates and lips worded out the month, Ilavarasi currently standing before a mirror and trying to see if she looks any different.
'Aavani(Tamil month that comes in the middle of English month July to August) 15' A small hopeful smile formed on the lotus shade lips. Kundavai smiled and affectionately caressed her stomach, no one is allowed in as she wanted to confirm herself before she made it official.
As many thoughts ran into her mind as she remembered her wedding night, the night of bliss, the night of union, the night of love and passion.
Three months back
'My Ilavarasiye, why are you playing games with me on our wedding night?' Vandiyadevan smiled cheekily as he walked around the gardens trying to find Kundavai. They are currently in Pazhayarai Palace, and this place holds so many memories for both of them.
Kundavai who is currently behind a tree laughed softly trying not to make much noise and spoke from where she is hiding 'Kamsa Raja ennai sirai pidika porrergala(Has Kamsa Raja going to arrest me?)' She said and fled toward the lake where her boat currently resides. As she went into that and saw Vandiyadevan running towards the tree she was hiding before.
'Athan intha Kamsan anre Uyirai samarpithuvitan than Ilavarasikaga. Nyabagam illaya (This Kamsan already pledged his life to his princess! Don't you remember?)' Vandiyadevan asked and saw a large boat in the lake, and he smiles and went to get into that.
And just like the first time, he saw he standing at the edge where the moon shines straight above her making her look like Indira lokha Mangai or even more beautiful than anyone ever could describe.
'En Ilavarasiye' Vandiyadevan and went near her.
'Adada what a surprise!  Arakan has transformed into my husband' Kundavai said and laughed. Both their laughter filled the place and the fireflies fly around them creating magic in the air. As they both moved closer to each other until they were able to feel their breath hitting each other's face.
'Are we going to play hide and seek from now on?' Vandiyadevan asked and he softly moved her small piece of hair behind her ear and caressed her cheeks which are smeared with her blush. Who would know that the ever-intelligent and strong princess could able to be swooned by this Spy who captured her heart?
'Well you have already pledged your life to me and it's my decision whether to play with it or not' Kundavai replied and closed her eyes, she enjoyed his touch as much as he is enjoying being near her.
'Uyir Ungaludayadhu Devi' He replied and captured her lips softly. Both their lips molded perfectly, like a moth attracts to the fire their lips couldn't give a break. As the cold breeze swiped over them their hands found a way to undo the jewels and the clothing came apart. The night ignites their love and passion like a wildfire that doesn't seems to be off and only consumed more and more.
Everyone knows that Vandiyadevan is a skillful warrior and Kundavai now can able to feel it as he worked his hands on her body, she sang melody through the air. Kundavai doesn't know that lovemaking can be this pleasureful act nor she had done this before. She wondered if it was just her husband's way of letting her feel this way. As she reached the peak her cries were muffled by the lips of the warrior, who did wonders for her, he worshipped her body like it was the most purest thing ever. Her hands found their way to his shoulder, as she claws it out to mark the passion wounds.
As both of them lay there with her head against his head and naked as one born day, The moon shines above them indicating the night is still young. As Vandiyadevan softly combed his finger through her silky hair he felt her smile against his chest. Who knew that he would be the one to gaze at the moon with the princes blushing against him?
'Thuyil kol en Kanamma(Sleep my Kanamma)' He said and kissed her forehead, just like he said the fish-like eyes closed to welcome the deep slumber as she embraced his chest and he smiled and gazed at his love with so much emotion.
Current day
A shy smile erupted at the thought of their first night and Kundavai giggled at that. It is weird for her to act all girlish, but her love is making her feel everything all at once. She waited long enough to confirm that she is with the child and finally, it all came together, her periods are late, and for the last two months. But she still has to confirm with Raja Vadhiyar but it's damn sure she is with the child. Before the Vaidyar she wants her husband to know this and tonight it will happen.
As today is Krishna Jayanthi and everyone is currently at Pazahyarai Palace where they would normally listen to songs and drama for the day.
As she got ready and slowly walked out to find her love standing patiently at the door, as soon as he saw her his smile shines through the palace.
'Krishan kathai kekay selvoma?(Shall we leave and listen to Krishna Katha)' He asked and she nodded. The pair went hand in hand and got blessings from her grandmother as they sat next to each other. Kundavai silently prayed as they watched the drama that unfolds before them showcasing Krishna with Yasodha. The smile on Kundavai's face widen as she always loved hearing this story. The love of a mother and even though her child is not out yet she can now feel the bond.
But her smile from her face vanished and fear took over them. She felt a trickle of liquid touching her thighs and an uneasy feeling crept into her stomach. She looked at Vandiyadevan as he is now chatting with Senthan Amuthan.
'Patti please excuse me' She said and hurriedly but yet carefully went to her room without causing much havoc. As Vandiyadevan looked next to him only to find it empty he raised an eyebrow. He excused himself and went to find his ilavarasi.
As Kundavai got to her room and ordered not to allow anyone until she say so to her helpers. She hurriedly went to the back room and touched her inner thighs, and as she took out her hand it is smeared with blood. A gasp left her mouth and a small whimper came next. Just like their mother Ponni Nandhi, her tears are flowing down south with so much pain.
Why this is happening to her? This is supposed to be a happy day and how she planned to disclose this with her love. Their baby, her baby is gone and now this is all she is left with. She used the other hand to close her mouth letting her muffled cries be heard lowly, She doesn't want others to see her like this, no not in this state. This is the day of happiness and she doesn't want others to go through what she is going through. And if the news of her miscarriage went out it would cause many speculations.
As she sat there with her blood flowing down her thighs Vandiyadevan entered and saw the state his love was currently in. Bloody hands and bloody thighs exposed how she is in making him realize the situation. He silently sat next to her and just like always caressed her hair in a way saying that they will be fine, they will go through it. And just like that she cried out a river as she couldn't hold in any longer.
'Shh shh it's ok my Kanamma, I am here, I will be always here' He said and hugged her.
2 years later
'Have you noticed how our Ilavarasi is becoming more beautiful day by day' Said one woman
'Yes I have noticed, but what is the use of beauty if one remains barren' Venba said to another woman.
'What are you talking Madhi? You know if any royals heard you say that, they will have your head' Said Sandhya who is currently collecting flowers for the evening.
'Why would they? I am not saying any false information, I am just pointing out the fact right?' Madhi said and looked at Venba.
'She is our Ilavarai and we should make sure she is happy' Venba said calmly and shook her head at her friend and helping hand.
'But I am worried about our Ilavarasi, As she got married way before her brother and our Ilavarasar Ponniyin Selvar, but she does not yet birthed any children nor impregnated successfully' Madhis words made Venba think, it is true whatever her friend said and Chola Desam is yet to receive jewel from their beloved Ilavarasi.
The people of Chola desam went ecstatic when Ponniyin Selvar announced the new baby Prince who is named Rajendra Cholan born 6 moons before. A healthy baby boy was birthed by Kodambalur Princess Vaanathi. But it only made people question why Ilavarai Kundavai didn't yet get pregnant.
Many accused Ilavarai's marriage to Commander Vallavaran Vanthiyadevan is just for political agenda and the princess is cursed to have children that's why for name sake she married but still resides in Thanjai rather than to take the Magadai kingdom. But many praised the princess for the bold move and thanked that she chose the Chola kingdom always.
As the two women vent out their thoughts it's been heard by the one whose eyes never shed tears for many matters are now filled with salty tears. Ilavarasi of Chola desam Kundhavai Pirattiyar
As she heard those words she felt like a knife piercing through her skin. It is true though that she couldn't able to get pregnant after trying several times. It's like the gods are punishing her for separating Aditha and Nandhini. It's like she is cursed to not have her own children.
As she aimlessly walked she found herself at the doors of her standing there and watching the 6-month-old baby laughing, her Nephew, her brother's son, her best friend's son. A smile erupted at the sight of seeing the baby trying to roll over. As she went near and stood next to Vanathi who smiled at her Akka. But Kundavai could able to feel some eyes on her and that's not exactly a good feeling. Some of Vanathi's mother's side people are here and all she felt while around them is judgemental.
'Akka, why don't you hold your Marumagan, 'cause he never listens to me' Vanathi said and held out the beautiful baby boy to Kundavai who laughed it out and held him as if he is her dear life. The baby's soft skin made her heart flutter, as those big eyes watched her with so much love. As Kundavai pressed a tight kiss on her nephew's cheeks, all her worries disappeared. But a good thing doesn't last forever. She can able to hear the murmuring of the people surrounding them. Before no one dared to talk in front of her but now they got an escape route to make her feel like hell.
'It's not good for the baby' A light voice said and another one said 'What if something happens to the boy, she doesn't even have one' another said. As she heard those words she started to feel that if its true, maybe she is cursed.
'Vanathi, here hold your baby, I have to be somewhere' Kundavai said and fled from the place. But Vanathi knows that's not the truth. As Kundavai dashes out, She even went passed her brother and her husband on the way out and not caring about anything. Arulmozhi nodded his head at Vandiyadevan as he went to console his wife.
In their room, Kundavai stood on her balcony and glanced at the once luxurious green tree now fading and in the process of dying out, the same as the state she is in.
Feather-like hands touched her shoulder and she knew exactly who it is, as her mouth let out an angst cry that she ever did, and as she hugged her husband who is in the same state as she is minus the crying. Both of them prayed to all the gods to let this situation be different, Vandiyadevan wants his wife, his princess to be happy and he is mad at himself for not being able to give her a child.
'Kanamma, My Kanamma. Look at me' He said and her red glassy eyes looked at him with so many emotions. 'I know you are hurting, and I hope we don't have to go through this, but unfortunately, we had to. But remember I am here, treat me as your child to which I always care for you so that you don't have to worry about what others said. My Kanne, you know I can't live to see tears in your eyes. You are strong, intelligent, and more importantly, this Chola desams treasure. Why are you sad about things others are saying Vandiyadevan softly said to her kissing her eyelids as he spoke each word.
Calmness took over Ilayya Piratti who was going to so much in the last three years. First her elder brother's death and then her losing her unborn child along with a couple of miscarriages. Her body and mind couldn't take it.
'Maybe it's because of the sin I have committed. Maybe it's the way of god letting me know that what I did to Nandhini is wrong. And how I punished her for being an orphan is wrong' Her words made Vandiyadevan think about his Ilavarasar who he misses every other day. But to see his wife in his state he couldn't help but make sure that none of them knew what the future held and none of them planned anything.
'You did nothing wrong, you put the Chola Desam people before anything and their safety as your first priority.' He said and wiped her tears.
'Anal nirantha un Nenjai
Un Thuyilal pokuga' He sang those words again and again.
But the privacy is cut short when soft footsteps approach them. As they both looked behind them to see Prince Arunmozhi and Princess Vanathi who is currently standing with tears matching her Akka's eyes.
'Akka, you have lied to me' Vanathi accused Kundavai to which others looked shocked and clueless.
'I lied to you? What are you talking about Vanathi?' Kundavai asked as she straighten out her posture.
'Yes! you did. You said I am like your sister and best friend and my son is your son. But you are experiencing this pain even without letting me in to able to be with you. Why Akka? Am I a stranger or am I not close to you?' Vanthai's words made others smile sadly and Kundavai smiled at her best friend now sister-in-law with so much love.
'Why you gave back Rajendran to me, while you want to hold him?' Vanathi's question made Kundavai take sharp breaths.
'I am barren Vanathi and I don't want any evil to fall upon my Marumagan' Kundavai told to which Vanathi laughed.
'Akka, Did you remember how back then everyone said I am bad luck and how cursed I am the cause of my life? But did you make me feel that way? Aren't you the one who loved me unconditionally and made sure that your brother marries me? Then how come you are thinking like this?' Vanathi asked as neared Kundavai. Arunmozhi nodded his head at Vandiyadevan and went near to them.
'You are my Akka, and you are the one that guided me to who I am today, If my son got the same thing from you we don't need any other blessing. And if anyone dared to point out or said you are cursed then I think they are too blind to see what a blessing you are to our life' Arunmozhi said and hugged his sister. Vanathi held out the baby to Kundavai who went in to hug him to her chest.
'My sweet Marumagane, I love you so much, don't ever forget that, your Athai loves you' she said and kissed the boy as the baby giggled. That moment is the foundation of the Chola desam's next king who will be raised by his Aunt and would receive all the guidance under her and his family.

Avalai Marakathaan
Her scream still echoed in his ears.
.
.
.
"vendam.....I beg of you, spare him"
But at that moment, Aditha was deaf to Nandini's pleadings. He was blind to her, begging at his feet, with folded, blood ridden hands.
His mind was clouded. Clouded by the fact that she had gotten over him. Clouded by the fact that she was in love with another man.
Veera Pandiyan lay on the cot, blood oozing out of his wounds, clinging to every millimetre of his body. With his breath beggining to run shallow, his eyes blurry, he faintly managed to call Nandini.
Ah, to hear her name, burnt his heart.
But hearing Veera Pandiyan say it burnt his soul. A soul he had considered lost when he was seperated from Nandini.
Before he himself could fully comprehend what he was doing, Aditha had strode forward and slit Veera Pandiyan's throat. Blood splattered all around the hut. It splattered on his skin and armour, quenching his thirst for revenge.
For a split second, he felt at peace which immediately turned into regret as he heard Nandini whimpering on the floor.
Her scream still echoed in his ears.
Her silhouette trembled, blood sprayed over her face. She had slouched down to her knees, falling on to her side.
"How could you forget about me Nandini?" Asked Aditha, still looking at Veera Pandiyan's corpse. He had finally begun to let his emotions surface. "How could you forget about me, our love? Was it even love? Or was it just so you could ascend the throne and become Thanjai Illaya Rani?"
Her eyebrows furrowed and eyes widened. "Why would you say something like that?" Nandini asked after a long pause.
"How could you fall in love with Veera Pandiyan!" Aditha exclaimed turning around in rage "or was that another play too, to get access to royalty?"
Nandini rose slowly, her body still shaken by the incident that had just taken place. She stared into Aditha's eyes for a minute and sighed, still maintaining eye contact.
"He was like a father to me Aditha. He took me in, gave me food, shelter and most of all, dignity."
The regret had now turned into guilt. His mental state had manipulated the situation.
"How could I ever forget you Aditha?"
Aditha looked back at Nandini, but this time he saw the old Nandini. The Nandini he'd take on horseback rides. The Nandini he'd lurk around the temples to see. This time there was a glimmer in her eyes, a slight smile on her lips.
She still loved him.
Maybe he'd be forgiven for the sin he had just committed.
He took one step closer to her, but she stepped back. Aditha looked confused.
He saw a tear trickle down Nandini's cheeks. A tear as red as blood. He tried to wipe it, when Nandini drew out her dagger. He stopped in his tracks. Her lotus like eyes looked weary, her delicate milk like skin was coated in blood, her hands which held garlands of flowers now held a dagger.
That is when it struck Aditha. Nandini had changed. And it was all because of him. She had turned into a snake, but it was he who had provided the poison.
His eyes burnt, facing the reality.
He could see the life he had imagined with Nandini burning in flames. Aditha heaved once and then again, before he dropped to the ground and began sobbing.
"Lets run away Nandini. Run away from all this mess. Run away where it's only you and me" asked Aditha with the final little hope he had.
"I can't Aditha. We can't. This was never meant to be" Nandini had completely broken down. That scarred Aditha. To him, he was always meant for her and she for him, since childhood.
Aditha was no longer the warrior who had killed thousands and conquered hundreds of kingdoms. He had crashed to the ground, trying to convince the love his life to run away with him.
For a second their eyes met, and suddenly they knew. They knew just what they hadn't known until that moment.
One arrow came through, and then another. In a second's time Nandini's body lay on the floor.
Aditha's body froze for a second before he frantically crawled to Nandini. Her body lay limp in the pool of blood. He took her into his arms, shook her and screamed to her in an attempt to bring her to consciousness. But she was gone.
"Karikalar is safe! He's well and alive!" shouted Parthibendran. And soon an army of soldiers came cheering, running towards the hut.
The chozha soldiers had found Aditha in the hut, and had seen a woman with bloodied hands, holding a dagger in front him. With the compromising position they saw Aditha in, they had assumed it would be right to shoot down the woman.
"Are you alright arase?" Parthiba whispered getting closer to Aditha. Aditha drew out his dagger in fury.
The hilt hit a glass of wine on his table, toppling it over, waking him up.
He could see the fabric of the tent wavering above him. Soon he could feel the silken sheets around. It took him a while to get up. It was a nightmare. Not the first. Not the last. Not for the sin he had committed.
One tear followed the other. He began to weep. Aditha howled in pain, he couldn't tolerate it anymore. He couldn't live like this anymore
He poured himself a glass of wine and gulped and shoved it down his throat to silence himself. He wished he could pierce that dagger of his through his heart and end all of this.
Her scream still echoed in his ears.

Had to write this after that frantic bed scene from Chinnanjiru Nilave MV.
For the "....and they knew" line, i really can't explain it. It's something i know they would want each other to know, and i let them, let the other know. It's a feeling i can't explain. I'm sorry, I'm not high i promise.
Yes, i did just make Parthibendran more horrible for myself.
It's the first fic I've ever posted, please ignore if the writing was a little weary at places. I'll work on it to get better.

Context: Some of Vandiyathevan’s thoughts on his journey back to Pazhayarai.
He wished to attain Pazhayarai at speed, tell the news to the Illaya Piratti and leave for Kanchi. More than anyone else, wasn’t he beholden to Aditha Karikalan? It is true that dangers of various types surrounded him. Parthibendran’s too has fallen into the Pazhuvur young Queen’s web of lust. It cannot be known what type of danger will strike Aditha Karikalan who was quick to take action, and when it would strike. Going to him and protecting him by sis side is his (Vandiyathevan’s) foremost duty. Losing time on the way is a big crime. It was imperative to leave right at that moment.
I find it interesting that this is one of the first times Vandiyathevan has thought about his duty to Aditha.

You were supposed to be Mine
Got a sudden Idea and had to pen it down cuz I apparently still prioritise writing over incoming deadlines... Aka a fic where Karikalan talks to Nandhini sometime after her marriage. Also, if you want to discuss PS2, I don't mind. Found here on AO3
His Nandini. His Nandini. His Nandini. It was all the eldest prince of the Chola kingdom could focus on as he stormed through the halls of the palace, in search of the very woman who had once captured his heart and still held it captive, the one who married the Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar and had come to the palace as his Illaya Rani.
“Raging again, Adhitha? You never do change,” the sweet, cool voice flowed through his ears as he turned back around, only to see Nandini standing in front of him. He couldn't process anything for a moment, trying to catalogue any changes and failing to do so. Her beauty, her presence, it still was the same.
“Cat got your tongue?”
“You- the old man-”
“Of course,” she elegantly waved her hand. “After all this while, you would never ask how am I and what I am doing. But, since you asked, surprisingly,” she looked up at him and smirked, “he asked and I accepted.”
“You were supposed to be mine.”
“And you lost me when you killed the Pandiyan King in front of me.” she coolly said, tone hardening for a moment as she glared at him. “I never asked you anything and the one time I asked something, you refused.” The smile was back on her face again as she twisted a lock of hair in her finger.
“But I must also say, it was a good thing you did a good thing by that because I wouldn’t have gotten this opportunity if it weren't for that day.”
“Why the old man though?”
“Why? Why not? He’s handsome, courageous, witty, and a man of his word, unlike someone I know. He respects my wishes too.”
“We both were supposed to-”
“But I am willing to forgive you and put the past behind us. I still love you and I wouldn't mind having something with you too,” she said as she got closer to Karikalan a finger gently caressing his cheek until it came down to his chin and lifted it up. “Just like old times, sneaking around and having our way.”
Karikalan recoiled as his lips brushed against her forehead in proximity, staring at her as if he’d seen a ghost. “What are you playing at?”
“Isn’t this what you’d wanted? As me to leave the old man come with you? I am finding a middle ground.”
“You-”
“Devilish beauty? Enchantress? Asparas? Epitome of beauty? Witch? Go ahead, I’ve been called them all and a lot more. I am giving you a chance, Adhitha, if you don’t want it, your loss. We still have time!

Jika ditakdirkan bersama.
Bismillah. Robbi inni lima anzalta illaya min khoirin faqir

Bahkan, sebuah satu rangkaian satu doa yang sangat indah
‘’Rabbi Inni  Limaa Anzalta Illaya Khoirin faqiir”
