But the NATIONAL aspect?? The 'oh the sacrifice in service of OUR country' (vs. sacrifice in honour of our fellow human, of God, of The Good)??? Has absolutely NO place in the church, or in Christianity more broadly. We want to be traditional literalists??? Okay i have yet to see a post about this that isnt filled with ppl being Annoying as Fuck on it, but,

theyve found wreckage of the submersible, it imploded (thank god, thats better than a drawn out suffocation over the course of several days, implosion means it was pretty much instantaneous) and the us navy have revealed they heard a weird sound on sunday from about where communication with the sub was lost, that was probably the sound of the implosion, [implied that they didnt say anything cos they didnt want to jump to conclusions without evidence of a wreckage, if there was a chance they were still alive.] no idea what the banging sounds were.

I do hope rescue efforts are extended to the migrants off the coast of greece, and am angry and horrified at their mistreatment, and that the media clearly cares less for their fates than that of the billionaires on the sub.

submarines generally dont go as deep as our deepest submersibles, but some can be down there for months at a time bc it is like. a self sufficient Ship. not all submersibles can go crazy deep, but to my knowledge, the only crewed vessels that can go that deep, are submersibles. If Luz gets a final fight with Belos in the human realm, she deserves a parallel to Eda's iconic "I AM better than you" from Agony of a Witch directed @ Phillip.

Because she is better than him- they've faced similar situations (being the only human in the demon realm, losing someone they love, etc) and each time Luz has made a better, kinder decision than Belos did.

She's imperfect, but is open to new ideas and experiences who grows and changes from her mistakes and improves the lives of ppl around her, unlike Phillip, who's stubborn, stuck in his ways and cruel to everyone around him. And it'd be double excellent by the fact that she's mirroring one of her mentors most iconic lines, having 100% earned the right to say it. It's unlikely to happen, I don't think the show would go that self referential, but I will be rotating the idea in my mind <3
