What do you estimate the population of each intelligent species to be? I know it said the dwarves were 200 something (or something like that, I don’t feel like checking) but I don’t think they have exact numbers for any other species.
Oo that's an interesting question!! And I'll look for you the dwarves were said to have a population of 329, but then 30 went missing and some have since died, so it's probably in the upper 200s. Which is still not a lot I've gotta admit
That being said! All of my estimations are based off of vibes and very unofficial math, so please take it all with a grain of salt! I tried to reason through some of it but also we're missing a lot of information so I'm fumbling in the dark!
that being said, under the cut is my strange math!
We don't have an estimate of elven population numbers, but if the school for elves is built like "a small city," a small city is defined as between 50k-99k people. But since humans are much much more prolific than all the other species, Let's say there are...10-15k school aged elves (11-18 ish), and at least in the U.S. school aged people account for about 25% of the population. So that would make, what, 30,000 adult elves if they had a human life span? But then you've got to add on all the elves from the past who haven't died, so I'm going to throw out 100,000 elves as just a very very rough estimate based on incredible flawed and unreasonable math.
And then we see a lot of gnomes on elven property, frequently outnumbering the elves but not in every home. There are also colonies out in the wild and people living on their own. Gnomes are always available to help with things, but given their no-sleep nature there wouldn't need to be as many to make them seem equal to the elves...so I'm going to say...35-40k? I know that's a lot higher than the 300-ish dwarves and the intelligent species seem to be very few, but given that gnomes live throughout many neutral territories and are always present, I think there's gotta be a fair number of them.
Then there's the trolls, who I'm thinking are kinda low in number. They have one hive (that isn't experimented on and is actually used normally, that is), which is at Luzia's place. So if an entire generation of their people can fit on a single elven property, that probably means they're closer to the dwarves than the gnomes in terms of numbers. It seems to have taken a few minutes for them to have walked through the whole hive to get to the transport pods in the back and that was moving at about top speed. So lets say it was 1/4 of a mile, about 16 pods on either side every 11 feet...that adds up to maybe 3.3k trolls in the hive at any given time? So if there are 3.3k trolls in each stage, and eight stages...that's a population of about 26,000, give or take a few thousand depending on death rates.
There's also the goblins, who I think have a good population size. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of goblins, given that whenever it's needed there can be more assigned to various elves and elven places while still maintaining militaries and cities back home. However, not everyone nor everywhere has a goblin bodyguard, in fact they seem quite rare. So I'm going to say...60k goblins overall? Enough to protect the elves who need protecting, but not everyone needs it so there are many back in Gildingham
And finally, the ogres. Their city is big enough that there are different sections and there are different class levels, working class and warrior and maybe more we don't know about. So I'm thinking there are a pretty good number? But also, goblins and ogres seem like they'd be evenly matched in a war, so their populations are probably similar. Given my goblin estimate of 60k, I'll put the ogres at maybe 50-55k? They seem more viscious than goblins (like Dimitar one-punching Sandor), but then again Brielle did kill three before she died. But for some reason I think there are slightly fewer, but a close number
A lot of this is also based on us only knowing about one city for each of the other species. They're called the capitals, but we don't hear about secondary cities that I can think of so I'm assuming their populations can fit into one city.
But hopefully my very questionable math is helpful! Shannon may have very different numbers, but I have no clue what that would be. They'd probably be a lot lower given that she put the dwarves at like 300, but hey I'm trying my best here !!

i think it’s super lame that riordan built up this whole lore, i guess you could say, about how the big three kids are “way too powerful’ and how the big 3 had this whole agreement to stop having kids cause they were too powerful and they were causing too many problems. and then we meet percy and percy’s super powerful and then we meet nico and nico grows into his powers and is really powerful in his own right. hazel and thalia’s powers are insane in their own right but then he drops the ball on jason so badly that people to this day, think he’s knock off percy???

Jonathan: fuck no. These two wouldn't fight, they'd be besties. A sweet little blond girl with a heart of gold? He'd love her. Sparring? These two could go toe to toe, absolute unit Jonathan verses sweet little Usagi? He'd be trying to teach her Hamon.
Joesph: 2seph? Hands down, one hundred percent. Joesph would have to be pretty crafty to get the upper hand, but he'd already be anxious fighting her. He knows what women are capable of (*cough Lisa Lisa and Susie Q cough*)
3seph? Eh, he'd probably try to dad her because she reminds him of Holly, no fights here. Unless sparring.
4seph? Usagi wouldn't fight a senile old man.
I have a lot for Jotaro so we gonna have to come back to him.
Josuke: Siblings. Bickering, prank wars, Never Diss The Hair, threatening to cut each other's hair off after a disturbed nap, the whole nine yards. You were right, they be Besties.
Giorno: I don't think they would fight. If pushed to, they would be pretty evenly matched since they're both kinda broken, but I'm pretty sure they'd rather go out for Gelato instead.
Jolyne: they wouldn't be fighting each other, they'd be fighting together. And whooping everyone's asses. Besties at first sight, and will die for each other.
Johnny and 8suke: No idea honestly. So imma just be safe and say that season 1 Usagi would lose, and season 5 or post series would wipe the floor with them.
JOTARO. Holy shit, which one we talking about here? Pre3? 3? 4? 5? Or 6? Let's go backwards.
She wouldn't fight 6taro. She'd recognize a bleeding heart and broken soul. In fact she'd probably try to reach out and help him, could even mend Jolyne and Jotaro's relationship. Jotaro wouldn't fight her either, he wouldn't want to because of how much she reminds him of Jolyne. This man is tired, let him rest.
5taro wouldn't fight either. He'd rather just relax and stop fighting altogether, but he has an arrow and old friend to find. He might even ask for her help, she could end up saving Polnareff.
4taro wouldn't fight right off the bat, but he's still in his prime. He wouldn't want to fight, but if pushed to, he will. But since he's be neglecting his powers with Star, he'd probably be easier to fight that 3taro but still a challenge. Star Platinum isn't the strongest stand for no reason. 'Sides, there's a serial killer on the loose, they have more pressing matters to tend to.
3taro, oh boy. Now there are two ways this can go, they meet when he's 17 as a delinquent, or they're childhood friends.
If they meet when Jotaro is 17, he would probably remind her of Mamoru when they first met. Cold, stoic, aloof, and a jackass. But like Mamoru she'd believe there's some goodness in him. At first they probably would really think much of each other, Jotaro wouldn't go out of his way to provoke her so long as she doesn't provoke him, and if she does he'll just treat her like he does all the other girls. If this is season 1 Usagi, she'll try to reach out to help him, but get knocked on her ass. Jotaro will think she's gonna be like all the others. If this is season 5 or post series Usagi, she'd easily apprehend him because he's not expecting her to be strong enough to tackle him. Kinda freaks him out a bit and he starts putting up a fight. She's still able to take him out, and he'd kinda be smitten by it. A tiny little lady that's a good foot and a half shorter than him, surprisingly strong, gives zero shits about his appearance, and would rather to get to know him personally completely wiping the floor with him? Yeah, that's gonna be one awkward ass boner for this poor boy.
Now if they're childhood friends, Usagi knows the delinquent act is just that, an act. They also wouldn't fight physically unless its exercise or something, most of their fights are vocal. They'll take an hour or so to calm down before talking it out.
Now if someone else is messing with season 1 Usagi, she'll be able to put up a fight (she has a little brother and Jotaro, pretty sure she's used to rough housing) but would still be beaten. Then you would have an angry, near 6 foot, 14 year old Jotaro on your ass. Most people would know better that to mess with post series Usagi, she's been hanging out with Makoto, Rei, and Jotaro, she can easily whoop anyone's ass. Mess with Jotaro, post series Usagi will kill you.
If you can't tell, I really like Jotaro and Usagi interacting. I'm so happy someone else has thought of this crossover.
I'm so fucking happy how much thought you put into this, this just further feeds into my need of more Sailor Moon and JJBA crossover shenanigans! But omg absolutely do I love how much Jotaro and Usagi could be friends, that friendship you would never expect but absolutely adore once you see it! I'm so glad you responded to this, you have made my entire night and now all I'll be thinking about is that friendship between Usagi and Jotaro
