two layers- three layers to this which are 1. surface level i was just trying to figure out delaney and louis's dynamic after them being a romantic Thing since louis was created and this both cleared stuff up abt how much they trust each other and ALSO whether or not that was even going to work, 2. delaney was the og main character for this comic and i haven't rlly touched what i had developed about her in years since i decided mira was the new mc and so now i am ah crying about it and 3. the piece of dialogue that comes before this is louis looking delaney in the eyes after [the thing w their friend] and going "are you okay?" and when she goes louis, i'm fine, he goes, "and i'm serious. are you okay?" and then suddenly i am on the floor in a puddle of my own tears

"IN ANOTHER LIFE, I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO DO LAUNDRY AND TAXES WITH YOU." in the context of the film evelyn is complaining about her life she's like, my life with you is HORRIBLE, there's so much to do, we could lose our home, we're always fighting, we're unhappy. and waymond ofc he is just like. but i would be content with that. in another life where that chaos is all we have, i would love you. i would have loved doing that with you, rather than being here, separate and alone.

and the heart of it is inaaya and mira are on different paths now--inaaya is getting out, she'll be leaving the island sooner or later. the truth of it all is they're growing up and they're growing out of each other and the moment mira heard the news about their friend they were never going to stay. and when they meet again mira is still wounded and inaaya is just.... inaaya is just going, moving fast, farther than either of them thought they would ever go. they're not going to be as important to each other as they were when they were young and the world was just them; it's a fact of life.

Okay sure just ask me the hardest one off the bat why dont ya. Its funny cause its a book that I dont think I own which is suprising, its The Someday Birds by Sally J. Pla. Its about a roadtrip, its about neurodivergence, its about miscommunication, its about family and also about birds.

41. do you prefer paperback or hardback?

I like paperbacks more honestly cause with hardbacks the sleeves they come with i always lose T-T

Okay. Actual books: definitely when i was a kid. Fanfics and like actual word count: probably more now?? I reached a point in like 2020ish where how fast i was reading was not sustainable with how many books were actually like interesting to me.
