When my homeschoor became a highschooler, I felt the pressure to put her back in traditional school, I knew in my heart that this is not what I was supposed to do, traditional school wouldn't work with her schedule, but I was also scared and doubting myself because of the pressure from others who were saying that she needed to go back to a traditional/private school setting. I even tried to do it against my better judgment. 2 twice and both times it didn't work out. And then something happened, her gift made room for her and we both knew traditional school was not an option. I started to pay attention to how the school systems works and I started to notice my highschooler's gifting and listened to her every word. God was showing me how to create her curriculum taylor fitted just for her. He showed me that traditional school is a time waster and a distraction from her authentic call. I worried am I getting it right and he assured me that I have everything inside of me to educate my child the way she needs to be educated regardless if others think I am qualified or not. See your highschooler, study them, you are called momma for your child's educational future. You know exactly what they need for their authentic path. God already ordained that it be you, trust the process and give yourself permission to break traditional society rules. #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #melaninatedhomeschool #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolinghighschool #africanamericanhomeschool https://www.instagram.com/p/CSJt7IwrqG7/?utm_medium=tumblr

Perks of homeschooling: I can take the kids for an early hot tub session. They are really enjoying going from the cold pool to the hot tub... nurturing the Scandinavian blood in them 😄 #stepdadmoment #intentionalliving #intentionalparenting #intentionalhomeschooling #intentionallife #stepdadsmatter #proudstepdad #proudstepfather #homeschooling #happyfamilytime #happyfamilylife #leadingbyexample (at Kamloops, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1thztcnYL6/?igshid=1r2ssxka2gekv

I just gave our #homeschoolroom its biannual clean up this past weekend and recorded a #homeschoolroomtour video too so that you can see how we have it set up for this year in 2019. . . I’m a big believer in creating #intentionalspaces and feng shui too... and if you follow me on bliss lived, altars 🌙and having a meditation space📿. Therefore it’s only natural I chose to pick a specific space to House all of our supplies and books when I#we first started homeschooling up until now. . . You don’t need a specific room to homeschool, but a space to store things - whether that’s a drawer, book shelf, closet or corner I think is so important to keep at least this mama same. . . Today I’m sharing our homeschool space and an old video of what it looked like back in 2014 when e + m we’re Kindergarten-ish age. . . I hope you enjoy 🌟. Drop by and say hi. "I've come to believe that genius is an exceedingly common human quality, probably natural to most of us... I began to wonder, reluctantly, whether it was possible that being in school itself was what was dumbing them down. Was it possible I had been hired not to enlarge children's power, but to diminish it? That seemed crazy on the face of it, but slowly I began to realize that the bells and the confinement, the crazy sequences, the age-segregation, the lack of privacy, the constant surveillance, and all the rest of national curriculum of schooling were designed exactly as if someone had set out to *prevent* children from learning how to think and act, to coax them into addiction and dependent behavior." – John Taylor Gatto . . . . . . . . . . #homeschooling #homeeducation #homelearning #learningathome #homeschoolmom #homeschoolmama #homeschoolblog #homeschoolblogger #homeschoolkids #homeschoolingrocks #homeschoolmoms #homeschoolplanning #homeschoolfreedom #educationchoice #homeschoolinfluencers #freetolearn #learningathome #playbasedlearning #interestbasedlearning #unschooling #charlottemason #classicaleducation #mindfulmom #attachmentparenting #peacefulparenting #independentlearning #secularhomeschool #intentionalhomeschooling #mindfulhomeschooling #spiritualhomeschooling

CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO TO READ TODAYS BLOG POST: CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL My 10th Grader's Curriculum Picks For The 2021-2022 Homeschool Year By Coach Angie! I have a confession to make. I was having issues with teaching high school the traditional way. I struggled with all of the boring textbook. I want my highschooler to have fun and enjoy what she is learning. I want to do high school totally different than all of the same curriculum that I am seeing online and on youtube. I don't want to stay in the curriculum box that everyone is doing. I am creating a out of the box curriculum for my high schooler. My main concern with high school is that all of the material changes to boring graphics, your basic black and white with no color and thousands of words on a page. I know they are trying to prepare them for young adult life, college and higher levels of literature and comprehension but who said it has to be drudgery and boring. It is more than one way to learn information and it can be fun, and exciting and full of childlike color and wonder. So I am giving myself permission to break the rules since we have creative control over what we learn and how  we get information inside our hearts and mind there will be no thick textbooks for us. You must know your path in life and be bold and brave enough to follow it, Someone picked our educational path. But now that we got out of the system, we don't have to play by their rules anymore. God has an authentic path for your homeschooler and for you too Homeschool Momma. You won't be able to discover that until you give yourself permission to color outside the lines and step out side the box. When you let go of fear, a whole new world is opened up to you. Most atmosphere are set up to control the masses. Why leave their atmosphere if you are going to still do it their way? You now have freedom Momma, your kids have freedom. Follow their bent, see what inspires them and feed it until they are full. I walked away from the traditional school system, but still found myself trying to play by their rules, until I discovered that my highschooler have different rules to graduate than the public or private schools in my state. No more learning that our past is rooted in captivity, But our past was rooted in freedom! My children will always be taught through that lens. I discovered that I am a curriculum designer, curriculum developer, instructional developer and Learner designer. I discovered my children gifting, skills and what they love. I am excited to discover parts of my homeschoolers and myself that I didn't know existed. Homeschool momma if you ve been uneasy about the educational process of your children and you are feeling a pull in your heart to go in an entirely different direction. LISTEN AND STEP OUTSIDE OF YOUR BOX, AND COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES. Follow the path that has been set for you and your homeschoolers #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #melaninatedhomeschool #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolrocks #africanamericanhomeschool https://www.instagram.com/p/CR6PSGqMrbL/?utm_medium=tumblr

10 Benefits of letting your older children read to their younger siblings. 1. Your kids are forming strong bonds over books and learning valuable lessons in literacy from each other  2. Mom can get a break and finish some tasks on her to do list. 3. Older children often build confidence and critical literacy skills when they read to a younger sibling. 4.Older kids will likely feel admiration and respect from their younger sibling. 5. By older kids spending time reading a book that’s perhaps ‘too young’ for them, they’ll be able to practice learning fluency on easier books. 6. Older child will become a role model for their smaller siblings. 7. Younger child will see good reading behaviors modeled for them. 8.Youger child can observe the ways that the older child corrects mistakes or stumbles through a tricky word. 9. It exposes younger children to higher-level books they wouldn’t be able to read on their own. 10. Your children's bond from reading with each other will carry over to other activities outside of reading.  #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #melaninatedhomeschool #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolrocks #africanamericanhomeschool https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ_CXJwsFu1/?utm_medium=tumblr

The world is our classroom, not the four walls we sit in, When we go out of the four walls of our home, a whole new world opens up to us. We learn things we possibly couldn't learn being confined. Homeschool mommas get out in nature, travel, take field trips and let your children explore and take in everything around them. You just watch and observe them. Have a pen and paper so you can write down everything they discovered from then just being curious. I bet you will come home amazed at all the things your children learned. #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #melaninatedhomeschool #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolrocks #africanamericanhomeschool https://www.instagram.com/p/CQYYR-lhu1e/?utm_medium=tumblr

I remember buying a book on the subject of rocks for one of my daughters, because I thought she would like it. She said to me, "Why did you buy me this book?" I am not going to read it. I said, I thought you would like it, I just put it in our library and left it alone. One day I walked in on her reading the book. She got so excited and went outside and start collecting rocks and start telling me what kind of rock each one was that she found in our yard. After that I just start buying books and activities and just placing them where my children can see them. They will eventually gravitate towards what they love. I listen to what they want to explore or like and buy things to stimulate their interest. Kids are curious and learning comes naturally for them, even if you didn't put one thing in front of them they will learn. My girls were challenging each other about how much water is in the human body, one said 60% the other one said no, 70%. They took my phone and looked it up. They learned that the adult body is 60% water The brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. I even learned that day as well. Learning is always happening. #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #melaninatedhomeschool #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolrocks #africanamericanhomesteader https://www.instagram.com/p/CPVWDQoMzAJ/?utm_medium=tumblr

If you are a new homeschool momma, or a seasoned homeschool momma who is very sentimental and want to keep all of the things you and your homeschoolers have done, you are probably wondering what to do with all of the school work and projects you've completed for the whole school year. Projects like art paintings, science projects, and all the creative projects your homeschooler did this year. Lets face it, you are so proud of all the things you and your homeschooler have done together, and quite frankly you are impresses with all you have accomplished. Some mommas hold on to it to show proof of all the work they've done just in case they are investigated. It can be very overwhelming to hold on to every single thing your child has done and create major clutter. So your probably wondering, do I keep it all? Do I throw it away? How do I store it? How do I get a handle of all of this end of the year paper accumulation? You can take pictures of all of your projects and create a physical( Big Binder) or online ( like google docs) portfolio as memory keeping and proof of your homeschooler's work. Every end of the school year I make make a portfolio for each one of my kids and keep some of their best work for each subject we've learned for the school year. You can go on youtube to see how homeschool mommas are keeping their records or portfolios. You can include the pictures of their projects. I also keep a small portion of some of there work in a big envelope just to show progression in their lessons and then I throw the rest away. If the projects can fit in the binder I keep it. I house their portfolio and envelopes in a storage containers with a top. #intentionalhomeschooling #christianhomeschoolmama #christianhomeschool #christianhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolingfamilies #africanamericanhomeschool #blackhomeschoolmom #blackhomeschoolmomas #homeschoolencouragement #homeschoolmamas #homeschoolplanning #blackhomeschoolfamily #homeschoollife #homeschoollifestyle #blackhomeschoolers365 #blackhomeschool #homeschooling #blackhomeschoolblog #homeschoolfamily #homeschoolcurriculum #africanamericanhomeschoolers #africanamericanhomeschooling https://www.instagram.com/p/CPDY826s2LK/?utm_medium=tumblr
