Scarameow being a cat in cat Cafe, and reader being a customer who regularly visits. Scarameow at first doesent care but after reader tries to pat him he leans in their hand and starts purring. After that, scarameow has reader all to himself, laying on their lap so they can't move, playing with their bag, purring rlly loudly and scaring off other cats that want to come near reader (aka hissing).

Reader wants to ask the owner to adopt the cat and the owner warns them that scara has "attachment issues" reader didn't mind that and adopted scarakitty. And the first thing they know scara start meowing and rubbing his body all over the furniture and readers legs.

At night reader is in their big blankets with scara purring on their chest as reader is scrolling on their phone, scratching scaras ears. But scara wanted more attention and starts to rub his face on readers face and then lays under their neck so they cant move and look at their phone.

I had a wip for this but I ended up hating it lol but here's the gist of it:

Reader is Dottore's sickly childhood friend, cursed with an illness even the wise doctor is unable to understand. Reader is bedridden, sometimes there are days where they cannot even move their muscle or feel their body. As such, Primetorre assigned a segment with the sole purpose of helping Reader and to ease their loneliness.

Sometimes Reader does wish Primetorre would see them more often, or maybe if they were healthy enough they could travel with him. Though they know that it is nothing but a hopeless wish.

When the segment sees Reader longingly look towards the window he...bites them. Yes, bites them. When Reader was healthier, they would playfully bite Dottore when he was a child. Little Dottore would always scream and complain that it's unhygienic. Now, it is what the segment knows best could draw your attention away from your depressing life.

I feel like even though Reader in this au is mostly lethargic and tired, on days where they have more energy, they would tease Dottore to bite them on more promiscuous places. Dottore of course, takes this as a challenge. Which is why you sometimes have shark-like marks on your thighs.

GAHHH thinkin 'bout kitsune reader and scaranara!!! everytime reader has to interact with others their ears and eye twitch in irritation, and half the time he soothes his hand over their tail to try and let them know theyre there. pre archon quest reader cuddles up to him in his office in the palace. but after archon quest does reader forget who he is? theres so much good angst here too!! since his life is so significant to readers do all of their memories become altered and reader ends up pretty lonely and irritable all the time. do you think they see scara after his existence is erased and start crying without knowing why?? and they just huff and look away brows furrowed while they try desperately to keep tears in infront of this supposed "stranger" like he dissappeared to ascend to godhood right before so seeing him makes them cry even though they cant remember him anymore?

Scara would totally do that,, just little ways to comfort them. Because interaction with humans is a really troublesome chore for reader :( I feel like reader is equivalent to someone with extreme depression and anxiety. Being around people makes them feel really anxious yet also numb. But they know they have to interact with others sometimes (Fatui business and all) so it's really relieving for them if Scara subtly shows that he's there if they need him. And ofc plenty of cuddles he's their comfort doll after all!!

I thought a lot about the archon quest and I came to two possibilities: one is that the memory wiped never happened. Kitsune! reader is a lot stronger than they seem. I really expanded kitsune and yokai lore in this au, so maybe I'll make a post of it. And they have this link to Scara thanks to their familiar-master contract so I can see them finding a way to stop Scara from succeeding with the Irminsul wipe.

The second option is that it did happen, but the lore was altered, and instead of their connections with Scara, they were 'saved' by Dottore and became his servant. Naturally, in this timeline, they feel more empty and less fulfilled because Dottore never loved them (or does he?) and they feel like there is something...off in their life. They would be present for the battle against Shouki No Kami and the aftermath, and since Traveler knows of their close bond with Scara, they would definitely find reader and try to fix the mess he created with Nahida. But I definitely think they would start crying when they first see Wanderer in that archon quest :( They get their memories back though so yayyy

glad you said about the asian erasure part because i'm blasian and i see no reason for erasing an east asian character to make them black if you can make them have both heritages! it's the same thing for lgbt headcanons, if it compliments the character then it's nice, but, if it erases their original characteristics, than it's erasure

example: it's okay to headcanon a lesbian character as ace, because they continue to be a lesbian. however, it's not okay to headcanon a bi character as gay for example, because you are erasing their bisexuality.

if people think turning an anime character (stated as EA, not mattering their looks) only black is not erasure, then they are confirming they see asian characters (with asian names, asian cultures and backgrounds that influence their experience of race/ethnicity) as white, and that is not okay. race goes beyond that.

yeahh I feel like a lot of people see asians in media and games as white, even at some point I saw people saying there's no problem in turning them black because people with pale skin and asians are already heavily represented in media anyway like hahahahahaha *takes out knife*

it's just so weird to make characters like yunjin or scara black as their clothing and identity are very tied to their race. yunjin is a representation of chinese opera singers and scara's appearance and lore in intertwined with buddhist values, which is one of the major religions of japan. personally, when I look into posts about scara's appearance and the cutural links to it, I end up learning new things about japan that I otherwise may not have known. this is good representation! (a lot of people still don't get that his hat is a cultural item and make fun of in) don't get me started how weird it is to make any of the archons black when they are a representation of their nation's culture.

I actually like when people turn asian characters blasian it's kinda cute as long as you don't remove the existing cultural parts. representation is more than just skin colour!
