@joneshead didn’t ask but
straightening the bowl of chips, he steps back to examine his spread of snacks & video games, movies & drinks. was he trying too hard ? he was trying too hard. jug would know as soon as he stepped foot in there that something was wrong & sure, something was wrong but he didn’t want to jump right into that. he didn’t want to start off what would be their last weekend for who knows how long with the news that this would be exactly that -- he wanted to ease into that part.
the knock on the back door lets him know that he’s there & he moves to flip the lock & let him in. ❛ hey ! i got everything set up. games, movies, food. whatever you wanna do -- i picked last time. oh and mom and dad are at some.. mayor thing . ❜

“Whadya think, Jug?” He asks, sliding down next to his best friend as he pulls a book from his backpack. “It’s not a -...not a-... pornographic magazine, but there are some interesting bits in it.” Glances briefly at the title: Beyond the Pleasure Principle by Sigmund Freud before he slips through the hefty title, scanning through.
“Dunno what all the fuss is about, if you ask me.” Teddy continues on, brow furrowing as he reads softly under his breath. “After we helped Dean out with his...issue - performance anxiety! Who would have thought? Bloke his size - er -...and by ...by size, I obviously - it’s... I meant how big he is - and I -...” flusters, he tries again, “er- ...the - he’s a big boy. Uh! Tall. Very tall young...man.”
“ -... Anyways er -...doesn’t sound too complicated, is what I’m trying to say.”

❝ do you think cheryl knows that the line in bring it on is ❛ we act like we're on speed ❜ , not that we're actually on speed? ❞ she asks, sitting down in the chair next to jughead at the lunch table. ❝ the things she thinks we can do in just forty-five minutes are actually crazy. ❞ // @joneshead

𝙄𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙖𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧 , this really wasn’t her jam. But Clover had gotten the short end of the stick , literally – except in their case it the shortest q – tip. Could they not have been keeping an eye on a girl more interesting ? A girl who went to malls like a normal young adult , or maybe that movie that Clover’s been meaning to see – NOT a poetry slam. She bites back a groan as she turns her head over to the boy sat at her left , at least he was kind of cute , maybe she could get him to write poems about her.
❝ Is it a dress code for all poets to wear thrift store dresses and , like , hand – me – down cardigans ? ❞ She grins at him , almost forgetting that she too had donned strikingly similar attire. When in Rome ! But she laughs it off , wracking her brain for the most relevant poet she could think of. Something she’d seen on the internet , or more accurately , an Instagram caption. ❝ Rupi Kaur once wore what I’m wearing , so that’s different , I’m different. I’m – ❞ Shit. She should’ve thought of an alias beforehand. She was too mad at the girls for forcing her to come here. ❝ I’m Ruby. ❞

@joneshead likes for a starter ❤︎
Beacon Hills changed a lot over the couple of months - at least so it felt. Things probably didn’t change that much, Lydia was just not aware of everything that went on. But now that she was aware it changed her whole life. Hers and that of her friends. It could easily feel overwhelming. Trying to manage school, being a teenager, dealing with the supernatural meanwhile keeping it all a secret from everyone who didn’t need to be involved with it. That’s why she decided to stay after class a bit to paint. It was quiet and calm and helped her relax a bit.
After she was done, she did a little trip to her locker, picking up a book, before leaving school. That’s when she noticed the boy in the halls. “Jughead?” The readhead thought she was the last person still here - well maybe other than the sports teams, but as far as she knew, Jughead didn’t belong to any of them. “What are you still doing here?”

“ you want to ask me that again? “ her arms are folded over her chest and her hip leans against the railing, fingers tapping lightly on her bicep. oh, she heard him the first time. vampire hearing and all. but she figured it wouldn’t hurt to hear him ask her it again.

@joneshead wanted a starter with Lizzie Saltzman!
“ That was already broken when I got here. “ It wasn’t. It really wasn’t. The mess that surrounds her in the empty classroom is nothing if not caused by her. The biggest issue of them all was the large desk broken in half just in front of where Lizzie stood. Too many issues, the crazy one, a lot off her rockers - she can already hear what everyone would say when they found out she’d done this again. Always with her emotions on the surface, she was, and the more she thought about her problems, the more she tried to shove them down and ignore them, the more they seemed to explode into... Well, this. And she attempts to look innocent but such a look was never really well placed on her face. She simply can’t pull it off. But does she ever try. “ I don’t - I don’t know what happened.” And it’s half true; one minute she’s standing here, one minute she’s overthinking and suddenly there’s a scream (she thinks it might’ve been hers) and things are just... Broken. Like me. “ You should leave. “

sawyer isn't used to wolves she doesn't know. but the vibe of wolf is strong around her. there's the unknown aspect of it all as well, causing sawyer to be on edge and looking around, not sure what exactly was happening. she paused, tilting her head to the side at the man she didn't recognize, ❝ you, ❞ she moves herself into his path, not bothering to care about how strange that was. ❝ no offense, but you reek of fear. what has you so scared? ❞ / @joneshead liked the oc starter call

@joneshead gets josslyn
after being stuck in the house because of someone being after her step-father for, who could remember how long at this point, josslyn was elated to be back at school. sure, volleyball season was over now, but there were still plenty of things to look forward too. even homework. but right now, her focus was on class. boy did it feel good to be around her classmates again, and a hands on biology lab her first day back? things couldn’t be any better, honestly. “this is so cliche. josslyn chuckles towards her partner. “how many times have you dissected a frog in science class at this point? we did this twice in middle school.”

random emo because \\ @joneshead
It was a different level of exhaustion Betty felt ever since her father’s heart attack had nearly taken his life and landed him in the intensive care unit of the hospital for the last several weeks. It was more than simply lack of sleep, being tired from staying up too late at night until she was forced from the room and told that visiting hours were over until the morning. It left little time for her to look after herself, not that she’d ever been so good with the task to begin with. Worrying about everyone else was her means of distraction, making sure that Alice was fed and clothed or at her every beck and call and making all the appropriate phone calls to family members and aftercare doctors to change Hal’s lifestyle for his impending trip home as soon as he regained his strength.
Sleep was a nuisance to her, already not enough hours in the day for her to feel useful or accomplished as her dad continued to lie in a hospital bed and rarely conscious. The doctors promised her it was nothing to worry about, that he needed rest more than anything in his recovery but it was a ghostly image that stuck with her when she’d feared the worst that he might not pull through at all.
She had taken to busying herself with anything, cleaning the entire house from top to bottom, reorganizing every nook as if somehow the change could affect the speed of her father’s recovery. It was dangerous territory for her to tread, the obsessive and compulsive need for control over her environment obvious to everyone else around her that spoke of an entirely different issue more personal in nature due to her own struggles with mental health over the years.
It was well past midnight before she came through the front door of the Cooper home, several hours past visiting hours at the hospital and having gone unreachable by cell phone since she’d promised her mother she was heading straight home. She assumed her loop of incessant thoughts would be her only company in the vast and desolate house but she was surprised to see a fire burning in the fireplace and a familiar denim jacket draped over the back of the couch.
Almost as if on cue, Jughead appeared in the doorway from the adjoining dining room and kitchen wiping his hands on one of Alice’s good dish towels looking perfectly comfortable at ease in her childhood home. “You’re still here?” She looked just as dumbfounded as she sounded, still standing in the entryway with her jacket on and purse still slung over her shoulder.
