@headstrongblake said: [ TEN ]  for receiver to collapse in sender’s arms after using their abilities. / alec & nick? o?
who knew what happened to the others when hydra found them, when they were all driven into smaller groups and forced to split up. alec held tightly onto kassy's hand as they followed quickly behind nick, nate bringing up the tail end of their group. bullets echoed through the halls as they tried to escape this labyrinth of a place they had managed to get themselves into. fear ran through alec and he could sense kassy's too despite the way she looked intensely forward. he didn't want to go back and he couldn't imagine his friends being injured, hurt, captured or killed.
c'mon, this way, nick ordered as they turned down a hallway only for them all to come screeching to a halt. alec and kassy both grunted as they were forcefully stopped by nick's arms that went out at his sides. there, down at the other end of the hall alec recognized the man standing there. tall, blonde and those sapphire eyes that seemed like a vacant void. this had been who rev had been searching for, only he didn't look as if he was going to help them. "get back!" nate told alec and kassy as he came to stand beside nick, the two first taking out the hydra agents on either side of the man. they had been armed but he.. wasn't.
"that man..." alec said in a shaky tone, "he's like me, like rev..." he swallowed as the man slowly began to advance towards them in an eerie unwavering manner, he hadn't even flinched when the bullets mowed down the agents at his sides. "he doesn't look friendly," nate muttered, "should we shoot?" he asked nick as they slowly began to back up. the man continued towards them. "stop!" alec called to hunter, "we're on your side! we're with rev!" but the words didn't seem to penetrate. "with ryan!" he tried again but nothing. "he's not stopping...." nate announced the obvious, urgency in his tone as his hands tightened on his gun.
when nick then tried to slow him down, a bullet through the thigh, the shoulder, kassy backed away, "he's still not stopping," she said, fear leaking into her voice as the two men then let bullets fly. hunter staggered once or twice but as the bullets entered him they were spit out moments after, wounds closing. "uh... guys..." nate began as he tossed his empty gun away now. "i think we should run," he muttered before they turned and took off down another hallway. and as they turned the corner they heard what sounded like a pained snarl coming from behind them and what was once a man was now a beast.
kassy screamed as nathan grabbed her and alec's wrist to make sure they kept up while nick fired off his last few shots. fuck! he heard from behind him followed by the clatter of nick's empty gun which wasn't a good sign. go, go, go! the large wolf like monster was gaining on them and it was only a matter of time before the space between them was gone. alec's eyes grew glossy with fear but he yanked his arm free from nate, causing the group to skid to a hault. "ALEC!" kassy screamed as he stood in the middle of the hall.
his heart raced in his chest as watched the beast barrel towards him but he raised his hands, taking a focused breath before using all the power he had mustered up inside him as huge root like vines broke through the walls and floor in an explosion, weaving together into an impenetrable wall, separating the beast from them. sweat beaded down his brow as the vines continued to weave thicker and sturdier until there wasn't so much of a tiny gap between them all. a snarl was heard on the other side when they stopped, locking into place and alec let out a soft, shaky exhale, turning towards the group with a weak smile, hands trembling at his sides before exhaustion hit him like a wave and he fell.
kassy cried out, reaching for him but with nick closer by his side, he scooped him into his arms. i got him, he reassured her as ran to join them. "damn, that little guy did all that?" nate said as he gave a breathless laugh in astonishment but they didn't linger, the three of them continuing to book it down the hall before trinity teleported in front of them. kassy nearly screamed again, gasping in surprise. "oh good," trin began though her eyes went to alec in nicks arms and concern flashed across her face. "this way, you're almost out," she informed them as she turned the corner down the hall.

"don't mention it." / grant & nicklas / @thewholecrew
Tumblr media
he's doing his nightly rounds. a sweep around the block, carefully watching any one who lingers a little to close to kassy's apartment building. ever since kassy told him about what was happening, he'd started doing this. sometimes he went up and stayed with her. other times, he sits in the cafe, sits in a vehicle, anything to keep an eye on kassy. which...in hindsight, is probably exactly what lands him in these tight cuffs. "i do know my rights." nicklas reminds the camera pointed at him as he sits in the interogation room. still cuffed, despite not being a threat. it turns out, you don't get a lot of chances with a record like his. assaults. reckless endangerment. public intoxication. gun charges that never stick but are recorded. his affiliates and gang leather do nothing to help him and when the police add in that there's a witness...a person who backs up these bogus claims that he's been stalking miss kasandra harwell, plus apparently a failure to appear in court hanging over him...there's not a whole lot he can do but make a phone call.
nick's already gone around and around with the arresting officer who'd caught him outside the apartment. yeah, he knows, it doesn't look good on his part but even the detective is hard of hearing. or at least he'd rather write up his report and say he's done a job well done. all while kassy's still in trouble. in danger even more so because the only person nick can see making these claims...are the one the cops should really be looking at. finally, once the detective comes back with a smirk too wide on his features nick knows what's about to happen. he'll get a phone call sure. but then he's off to processing because they wanna book him.
"grant, oh man, i have never been so happy to hear your voice, you on your way to the club?" he asked, although he doesn't leave grant any room to answer, because by now, even if he'd been held up in his happy land with octavia, the man should be on his damn way to meet nick for their drink. "course you are, anyway, listen, i'm not going to be meetin' you for that beer after all...cops arrested me outside kassy's apartment." as he says the words, it sounds ridiculous to him, as he's sure it does to grant, which is all but confirmed when grant asks, what?
"shut up, ok, listen to me...if i'm in here, we're gettin' close, that's gotta be it, we're poking at the right place...somewhere with this bastard. i need you to go check on kass, make sure she's okay, that nothing happens to her." me? nick do you hear yourse--
"grant. please. check on her and make sure she's okay, keep checking until i get out of this place, they're goin' to try to hold me on some bogus shit while they try to make their case for this...but i need to know you've got her..." the automative voice that lets them know there is one minute remaining in his call comes through causing a panic to rise inside of him. "grant, nothing happens to her. tell me you've got her. after all the shit we've put her through..." i've got her, nick, don't mention it. there's a short breath of relief as he nods his head, grip tightening on the phone. "good. that's good. hey wait, you were my call so get the lawyer-..." the phone clicked as a frown set across his features.

@headstrongblake said: what were you like as a child? / kass & nick
kassy looked up at nick, hands pausing on the christmas wreath she was making when he asked that question. they had been briefly speaking about holiday traditions and while she could understand the question she wasn't so sure how she wanted to answer it. with a kiss of her tongue making a tsk noise, she shrugged, continuing her craft. "what do you think i was like?" she asked with a quirked brow and small smirk as she glanced sideways at him. she plucked the pine needle branch he was holding for her from him as she tried to weave it the way trinity had shown her. "troublemaker or angel?" she bat her lashes at him before chuckling despite the distance that grew in her eyes.
"no, my sister was the angel, poor sierra is still trying to win over our parents affection." she shook her head, she had given up on that so long ago she sometimes felt like an orphan and it was something that her sister always argued against, what created the distance between them. there had only ever been one family that had made her feel like she supposed she should; loved, cherrished, noticed and enough. "did i tell you i moved here when i was around 7 or 8?" she doubted it, she didn't tell many about her life if she could help it. "i lived in new mexico when i was little and..." her nose scrunched and she took in a little breath. it was hard to talk about her childhood, not as if anything truly traumatic ever happened but it felt like a muscle she rarely stretched. however, nicklas had shared far more about his own life than she thought he ever wanted or needed to so, she continued.
"after we lost my little brother i mean, it was pretty much downhill from there with my parents, they let that grief destroy them." and in turn had completely neglected their other children. "they were in and out of the hospital a lot before he passed and well, during that time this lovely woman would babysit me." her eyes shined at the memory, exhaling a quiet sigh before adding the bows to the wreath. she didn't look at nick while she spoke, delicate fingers working the red bobbles into it as well. "her son went to preschool with me, we were practically best friends," a small, sad smile touched her lips before glancing at nick, "don't tell o," she teased before continuing with a shrug. "anyways, she babysat me and well, was probably the closest thing i've ever known to a real mom," she rolled her eyes at what she was even confessing.
"the whole family was.. was lovely," she admitted, "but her son was a terrible influence on me," kassy then added with a smirk and laugh. she had truly adored sebastian, had adored that time in her life even if it had been the saddest for her parents. his parents had always looked after her and she wondered what her life could have looked like now if she hadn't moved away. "but a few years later we moved here," she shrugged. "i wouldn't say i was the most rebellious kid. still did well in school, kept to my art, bit of a loner if you can believe it..." but she had been lonely. so terribly lonely in a way she wasn't sure she could ever explain, a feeling even to this day she still carried around. "you told me once that you were glad octavia found me, not sure where or who she would be..." she then pivoted before giving another small shrug. "i'm not quite sure where i'd be without her either. without all of you," she then added, glancing up with the slightest hint of vulnerability in her dark gaze.

@headstrongblake asked: [ cheek ] sender caresses receiver's cheek / nick & kassy
with octavia and grant supposedly being broken up from their secret not so secret situationship, he was definitely not the option to call tonight for a pick up. with how wasted the girls got she also decided with her one single rational brain cell, to call nick instead of risking an uber. "you have to come home with me o, 'm not gonna leave you here," she slurred as her arms draped around her best friend, keeping her from wandering off with some guy. he was kind of cute but not cute enough to risk anything more than letting her friend make out with him for a bit and now that was over. "c'monnn, i already called nick to come to get us, lets go back to your place m'kay? you can make out with me all you want," she slurred playfully as she kissed octavias cheek who was pouting as they stumbled away from the crowd.
once outside the two plopped down on the front step with kassy's arm wrapping around her best friend who's head rested on her shoulder. "'m sorry about that dickhead," she murmured as she nuzzled her cheek against the mess of octavias hair before nick's truck pulled up the street. it was clear he was surprised that they were already outside waiting for him instead of him having to search for them inside. kassy's eyes narrowed as he smirked, walking up to them before offering to help them up. kassy helped him get octavia up who was clearly the more drunk of the two, waiting on the step until nick had helped octavia into the back. as he returned to kass with a raised brow, she took his hand as he helped her up, answering his question before he even spoke it, "boy trouble," she explained and his immediate accepting ah with no further questions amused her.
she planned on sitting in the back with octavia, though when they made it to the truck her best friend was sprawled out across the back seat leaving no room for her and she couldn't help but laugh softly, even if she felt for her. looks like you get the honours of sitting in the front with me, nick mused which had kassy roll her eyes, "oh boy, lucky me," she teased, giving him a playful nudge as she swayed and he helped her to the passenger seat. kassy managed to get herself into her seat without too much of a hassle in her wobbly manner and as nick got in on his side she tilted her head with a grin, "hey you, thanks for pickin' us up," she told him, hands blindly reaching for her seatbelt before she gave up and let him do it for her. she laughed, nose scrunching as she gave his nose a playful tap when he leaned over, her dark hair falling messily around her face as her head leaned back against the seat.
his rumbled laughter as he shook his head had her grin grow wider, dark eyes shining as he reached to then brush her hair from her face with a stroke of her cheek. "ya'know, yer alright," she told him playfully, unable to help herself from booping his nose once more before he sat back in his seat. oh yeah? "yeah, theresssa lil more to you than just bein' the hot bartender i guess." the look on his face had her laugh, a little more huh? and she nodded, smirk growing mischeviously across her lips as he pulled out of the driveway and headed back to the blakes apartment. "mhmmmm, yer an excellent chauffeur too," she winked at him and without missing a beat, "so can we stop at wendys on the way home for a chocolate shake? please? o'll like one too 'm sure, right o?" there was a groan from behind them, "see? she's totally on board."

@headstrongblake said: “  you don’t have to come over here and take care of me you know.  i can clean up my own messes.  ” / nick & kass
the tension in his home since nicklas was discharged from the hospital had been nearly thick enough to cut through. so much had happened within the past week and no one had really been able to fully process any of it. everyone was beyond relieved that nick made it out alive despite the horror done to his body, but there was anger bubbling just beneath the surface. it was clear that for nick there was the anger of grant disappearing, anger of his pain and not being able to do things for himself with the state of his hands, of his body -- the loss of control she was witnessing hit a soft spot within kassy. but there was also anger both within her and rev. to think about what happened to him, to think that the man who did this got to just walk away without a scratch.
everyone just wanted to help him as best they could and kassy knew that it was going to be overwhelming and frustrating for nick. but she wasn't going anywhere. he hadn't left her when she had wanted nothing to do with anyone, and she'd be damned if she was going to leave him here to suffer alone after what he had been through.
kassy tried her best not to hover, tried not to let the deep concern leak into her gaze every time she looked at him but god she had been so fucking scared. to hear him screaming out in pain on the other end of the line while the man torturing him taunted them both -- it made her physically sick with rage. and to see the aftermath of what happened to him, every time she let her mind linger on it she felt like she was going to sob all over again. he hadn't deserved this, and now watching him struggle through simple tasks because of the damage to his hands, it wasn't fucking fair.
she watched from the kitchen island in silence as his hands shook trying to get himself a simple glass of water. the glass shook too, water splashing over the edge because of the tremors and she sucked in a sharp breath, rising as she saw the frustration and pain in his face. "nick.." she began softly as she stepped forward when she couldn't take it anymore, but it was too late and the glass slipped from his hands to shatter on the ground, watching as he cursed. "stop. stop, don't move, let me clean this up," she told him as she carefully went to get the dustpan and broom. she saw the defiance in his gaze, the way his scowl deepened and she was honestly afraid he would lash out with his frustration and punch something which would only injure him more.
you don’t have to come over here and take care of me you know.  i can clean up my own messes. he told her flatly and she shook her head. "stop that," she told him with a soft frown, "just let me help you." she knew he wasn't helpless, and that just because he did need help didn't mean he was weak, or any less of the man she knew him to be. she just couldn't bare to watch him hurt himself anymore because she knew he was stubborn enough to stay there in pain for as long as it took to meticulously clean this up himself. kassy also knew there would be a lot of this going forth, and that she shouldn't step in every time, but it was too early, too soon since he'd returned from the hospital, he was going to have to get used to them helping.
she carefully picked up the larger shards of glass first and swept the rest into the dustpan. cleaning up she could feel how uncomfortable he was as if it was heat radiating off him. with the glass cleaned around him and the water mopped up, kassy got him another glass of water, "i know you want to do everything for yourself but the harsh reality is that you can't right now, nick. not without hurting yourself. right now you have to be gentle with yourself, give yourself time to heal." the look in his eyes had her heart squeeze painfully, "i know it's frustrating, baby, i know, but the more you let us help, the quicker your injuries will recover," she told him softly as she reached up to gently stroke his cheek, drawing his gaze back towards her as he had looked away.
"no one here thinks of you any less because of it, you hear me? not alec, or i, or octavia, or rev. now please, come sit down and let me help you." her hand slid along his arm to very hesitantly hold her palm up just under his, leaving a bit of space for whether he would let her gently take it or not. she offered him a reassuring smile with unwavering confidence and adoration for him because as horrible as this all was, she knew he was strong enough to make it through this, and there was not a chance in hell he would be doing so alone.

@headstrongblake said: “You think I’ll do it, but I’ll tell you right now there’s no way- okay I’ll do it” / nick & kass
kassy was counting down the days until their trip and it was quickly approaching. she had spent the week ahead of time getting everything she could possibly need for the trip and while doing so had realized that nick seemed a little bit under prepared. she couldn't believe this would be his first vacation (even if he insisted the beach house was a vacation too, kassy didn't think it counted) and noticed that he didn't quite have the wardrobe for bali. so now, here they were and kassy had managed to drag him to the mall to get him some new outfits for the trip. the clothes he had weren't bad, but they weren't tropical, and besides everyone deserved a nice, new few outfits for any and all trips.
"so, i'm thinking we'll get you some more tropical button ups, short sleeve of course, a white sleeveless shirt for underneath -- which is always optional, and some nice, maybe beige, cargo shorts, maybe jean -- nothing too wrinkly though," she rambled off as she walked alongside nick between munching on the last of her snack which had been their first stop. passing one of the garbages, she glanced at nick as he tossed out their empty coffee cups with perhaps a bemused expression on his face. "trust me, you're going to look great, not that you really need help with that but," she teased with a wink as she then spotted a shop she wanted to go in and tugged him along behind her.
as they travelled through the aisles, kassy began gathering a bunch of clothes, handing them off to nick to carry. there were a few items in there he'd protested about but she waved dismissively at it, "trust me, you'll look great -- at least try them on," she insisted. gathering a few more items she held them all together, holding them up to him with a pleased smirk, "oh yeah, you have to try this," she insisted once again. there was really nothing hotter than a man with style, and while like she said, nick was hot enough on his own; him dressed how she liked? he'd be almost irresistable. "okay, go try this stuff on and i'll find you some shoes too," she told him, handing off what seemed like the eighth outfit of their first store.
"oh!" she paused, turning to him at the change room door, "you have to show me each of the outfits, kay? that's a must," kassy's eyes sparkled excitedly, amusement shining in them as he seemed to huff and puff. you think i'll do that, but i'll tell you right now-- he paused a moment, seeming to catch her gaze, how she stood there, hands clasped together with those bright eyes and an eager smile. how could he say no to her, hm? of course she knew what she was doing. okay, i'll do it, he gave in with an exasperated sigh and her smile grew into a grin. "good boy," the praise slipping from her a little too easily as she leaned up to kiss his cheek.
with a wink, she then turned him, shooing him into the change room, "now what colour are we thinking for shoes? black? brown? tan? white? don't care?" she asked as the door closed behind him. did she feel a little bad that nick might not being having the most fun of his life? sure, maybe a little, but she absolutely loved dressing up her people, so really this could almost be seen as an early birthday present for her too. "you still have a pair of sunglasses right? we can look at those too... would you ever be caught dead with a seashell necklace or is that too much?" she added with a laugh as she leaned against the wall beside the change room.

@headstrongblake said: 12) our muses are in a fight,  but cuddle anyway because they don’t like sleeping alone / kass & nick
kassy wasn't sure she had ever been as exhausted as she was since grant had left and they brought nick home from the hospital. for the most part she had been able to put most on the back burner while she helped nicklas but that in itself was a lot -- not because of himself but the trauma such an event caused to ripple through them all. she could still hear his screams every time she looked at his injuries, still felt the fear that she could have lost him, that he already had so many marks on his body before this, that he could have died. the emotional downpour that made it as though everyone was walking through deep water was exhausting. tack on her concern for octavia too, her heavy school load, her nightmares, his nightmares, it was almost too much.
it felt like a balancing act, everything piled carefully on her shoulders but this... this talk of going to get grant, it was too much. it was the straw that broke the camels back. it was outrageous after everything nick had been through, after what grant had done to octavia, after what the man grant knew and left with had done to nick. the first time he mentioned it she laughed, it was so outrageous, he had to be mad to think of doing something like that. but it wasn't just a fleeting thought and the more time that passed the more he would bring it up. she couldn't do this, she couldn't think about him going out there again to find the man who's fault all this was behind.
her exhaustion made her far more irritable than normal and with the mention of grant ward, her reaction was explosive. she was sick of it, sick of hearing about how nick hadn't been there for grant, how once again he wasn't there for him when both fucking times who's goddamn fault was that to begin with? GRANT'S! though kassy had told him at the time that his reaction to grant burning down the damn clubhouse was a bit extreme, he still had a good as hell reason not to give him a damn thought. and now? the man he left with fucking tortured him! but it was almost like talking to a fucking wall and she cared about nick, dammit she cared too much to hear this insanity so she bit her damn tongue as much as she could, forcing herself to walk away because if she didn't she would either cry or say something she'd regret.
kassy was so angry with him, with everything that happened, but her anger boiled mostly around grant ward. it made it impossible for her to understand, blinded by her rage as nick was blinded by their brotherhood. the sun was gone from the sky now and she had retreated to the guest room after the fight, scribbling furiously in her sketchbook with the door closed, trying to expel this hatred. her jaw clenched as she stabbed the book with the pencil before flinching at the shimmering glint of a bloody knife that flashed through her mind. immediately she tossed the pencil and it's broken tip away, closing her sketch book as she sighed harshly, running her hands through her hair.
her eyes stung as she closed them, her anger only exhausting her further, shoulders dropping in defeat as she took a moment then rose from the bed. after changing into some comfortable pajamas and getting ready for bed, she exited the bedroom, peering down the hall to see if nick was still up (as if he had ever gone to bed before her). she heard the sink in the master bathroom running and she sighed quietly to herself, taking this time to get them both some water for bed. no matter how angry she was, since he returned from the hospital she had not left his side at night, for his sake and honestly probably more for her own. tonight, though it was one of their bigger blow ups, was no different.
she carefully pulled the blankets back on his side before getting in and under on hers, dark eyes watching as he exited the bathroom, and whether it was surprise or relief in those blue eyes of his, kassy offered him a weary smile, gently patting the mattress beside her. as he got in, his lips parted to speak and her body tensed, "please," she interrupted, afraid he was going to bring it up, "please not tonight." whether or not he had been about to mention their fight or grant was unknown but she had to voice it because she wasn't sure she could take anymore tonight, her tone soft but tired. she, in this moment, was resigned to the fact that they both knew when the time came nick would leave to find grant and that would be that. tonight was not that night and as he got comfortable, or as best he could, she shifted closer, fingers gently running through his hair. as tired as she might be, kassy was sure nick was too, but also restless. he had been through enough as it was already.
they slowly drew closer to one another until she offered her chest to pillow his head, arms gently going around him, fingers careful where they traced. her eyes closed finally as she listened to his breathing, felt the warmth of his skin, the weight of him against her and she could rest. sleep? probably not, but in the rare moments like this before either of their nightmares begun and the buzzing of the day had settled, she could almost pretend like everything was okay. she knew it wasn't, she wouldn't be so naive to believe it ever could be again, but in these moments it felt like it.

@headstrongblake said: you've got something on your face...right here! / kass & nick
alec loved baking at all times of the year, however kassy only ever really seemed to be in the mood to help around the holidays. halloween first and foremost but christmas too. just because halloween was her favourite holiday it didn't mean that she hated christmas. she actually thoroughly enjoyed it ever since she'd had a group of friends to celebrate it with (ignoring what happened last christmas). she loved decorating and the cozy vibes winter brought. hot chocolate and marshmallows, christmas cookies, cupcakes, etc. she had a sweet tooth so of course she enjoyed the goodies.
and so, kassy had so graciously offered up nicks kitchen for alec to come over to do his annual christmas baking. the doorbell rang and kassy hopped up, an excited smile on her face as she slipped into her fuzzy slippers, heading towards the door. "it's alec!" she called out to nick wherever he'd disappeared to though she was sure he'd be able to tell if he saw the cameras. she opened the door for alec, helping him and all his things inside when nick entered the kitchen around the same time, wiping the grease off his hands with a raised brow.
"we're going to be doing some baking," she told him, placing down the small box of adorable christmas cookie cutters. we? he asked and she could see the amusement in his eyes before he turned to wash his hands. "shut up," she huffed with a grin, "i'll be helping," she insisted. she remembered the last time she tried baking and thankfully nick had come to her rescue before she burned everything to a crisp. "the professional is here to make sure things are amazing, alright?" she said as she helped alec get situated, sticking her tongue out at nick which had alec giggling.
in the end, alec did most of the work, unsurprising to anyone, and with the cupcakes done and cooled they were ready for frosting. nick had let the two have their fun but now kassy had called him over to help. "c'mon, where's your creativity? this'll be fun, look, it's easy," she said as she rolled her eyes at his playful heavy sigh, holding up the cupcake and tube of green icing. "watch," she instructed as she swirled the icing atop itself until it made a little christmas tree. "isn't it cute?" alec piped up between the other four different goodies he was baking. kassy nodded with a grin, "and delicious," she hummed, beyond tempted to take a bite.
"now you try," she offered the icing to nick as she held a new cupcake up for him with both hands, wearing an encouraging smile and bat of her lashes. he looked at her though a little longer than she would have expected and brows furrowed, "what?" she asked before he gave her that signature grin that meant trouble. you've got something on your face... right here! and in a quick moment there was suddenly a spot of green icing on her nose. "nicklas williams!" she gasped out in outrage as she reached up to snatch the icing from him.
alec jumped at that, turning to witness as kassy chased after nick, "get back here you brat!" she huffed despite the laughter leaking into her tone as she tried to get him back. "i cannot believe you did that!" their laugher echoed the hall as she chased him off, alec watching the two with adoration and a wistful sigh.

@headstrongblake said: “My life would be boring without you. Very peaceful and stress free but boring” / nick & kass
usually when kassy would see nick actually relaxing for once with a book in his hand she wouldn't pester him too much. of course she wouldn't leave him alone completely either. she'd usually lay down beside him or nuzzle her head under his book in his lap or on his chest and silently demand attention before promptly taking a nap much like a lazy housecat, but today she had a little more energy.
he had spotted her as she headed from the kitchen with some coffee for herself, she didn't get him any since she noticed the glass of whiskey on the tableside, in towards where he was laying across the couch in the living room. she read the title of his book to herself as she offered him an bright and innocent smile. "mornin'," she said even if it was well into the afternoon now, with a more uplifting tone than usual. finally after what felt like, or well, really was, months of restless nights, kassy had a good, restful night's (and morning's) sleep.
placing her cup on the coffee table she then sprung, hopping into his lap, straddling either side of his hips as she did so which seemed to expell a startled grunt from him and she laughed when he closed his book to rest it next to her coffee mug. you seem to be in a brighter spirits today, he murmured as her hands rested on his chest and his, now free, went to rest innocently on her hips. she wiggled in his lap a little devilishly, grinning down at him as she offered an innocent shrug, "just well rested," she said simply, fingers lightly drumming against his chest. "so... hear me out, i have an idea," she said as she tilted her head, dark eyes sparkling mischeviously.
"don't worry, it's nothing too crazy," kassy teased as she saw the perhaps wary expression that entered his blue eyed gaze. "i was going through some of my art supply boxes the other day and i found my body paints," she murmured, lips curling into a small smirk at the way his expression seemed to shift to intrigued. "what do you say to being my beautiful canvas for the afternoon?" she asked in a purr as her finger trailed down along his chest as if it was a paint brush before sliding her hand between them to cup him through his jeans. "who knows, maybe i'll even let you paint me too," she winked as she leaned in, playfully nudging his nose with her own as dark eyes shined.
you know, my life would be boring without you. he told her and she grinned, a laugh escaping as she nodded in agreement. "sooo boring, just sitting here reading like an old man," she teased, using rev's words against him before she realized and she sat back, her hand lifted to cover her mouth as she almost giggled seeing the playful outrage at that. very peaceful and stress free, he continued pointedly and she beamed down innocently at him, but boring. kassy bat her lashes at him as her head tilted, long, silky black hair falling over her shoulder as the shoulder of her robe fell. "...soooo, is that a yes then?" she asked him, leaning in once again to playfully nip at his bottom lip.
she then slid free from his lap quickly as he leaned to chase her lips, brown eyes shimmering deviously, "perfect! take your clothes off and... maybe get a towel or sheet you don't mind getting paint on!" she ordered as she all but nearly skipped away to get the paints, glancing back at him only to grin at his mildly exasperated experssion. "you love mee!" she countered in a playful sing song voice before disappearing into the guest room.

@headstrongblake said: ❛  i see you enjoy this.  ❜ / nick & kassy
it’s rare that the group would have nowhere to go and with it being the worst, most dreary, cold, dark, miserable month of them all, kassy decided that they go to one of her favourite places to blow off steam, have fun and win cute stuffed prizes; an arcade. but unlike the places she had spent time in when she was younger, she had found an arcade bar, more adult, more fun in her opinion. so, whether they wanted to or not, kassy decided and brought the group to the arcade. she enjoyed gaming though it wasn't something she talked about often, but she also just enjoyed the vibe of it, especially this bar.
everything was very retro and filled with neon lights and old arcade games. what better to play games while drinking too? but there wasn't just arcade games like pac-man, donkey-kong and those old zombie shooters but also air hockey, those basketball hoop games, skee ball, etc. it was nice to indulge this side of her and she opted to the older games, playing two player pac-man with octavia until her hands were sore and she finally died. she laughed, taking a drink of her full one while octavia had died a handful of levels ago and had been drinking while cheering her on since. she stuck her tongue out at nick who passed, taunting her that he would beat her score but she laughed, willing to see him try.
time passed and drinks were downed, she wasn't overly competitive but nick and grant had surprised her. she was watching them now playing a very intense game of air hockey yet all she could pay attention to was how good nick's arms looked when he shot the puck. while octavia and rev were competing over who could shoot the most baskets with alec cheering them on, she let her eyes wander, somewhat begrudgingly from nicks arms, to around the arcade when she remembered something that gave her an idea. perhaps nick deserved a little reward for doing so well today -- it honestly surprised her, he hadn't really seemed like the video game type, but she couldn't really judge that since she was sure many hadn't expected that from her either.
dark eyes narrowed as a devious smirk curled on her lips, rising from her spot watching the boys still battling it out as she walked past them, making sure to trail her hand up along nicks bare arm as she did. she offered him a quick, tempting glance and raised brow before she continued on, not stopping as she headed towards the back hallway that lead to the bathrooms. grant raised a brow as nick seemed to stop immediately, his gaze following her behind him. taking advantage of that grant scored with a smirk before scoffing, giving nick a nod, "go, but this means i win you know," he told him smugly, shaking his head as nick distractedly demanded a rematch later and seemed to follow behind kassy much like grant had many, many times with octavia. he was honestly surprised she hadn't snagged him first.
she waited for him, leaning back against the wall casually though there weren't any prying eyes, and when nick turned the corner she reached for him. her hand fisted in his shirt as she turned him and directed him back against one of the unused party room doors. it was unlocked and as they went through it she tugged down at his shirt, a silent order for him to meet her so she could kiss him before lips crashed hungrily into his, backing him blindly in the dark room. they stopped when he backed against one of the unplugged arcade games, his grunt alerting her as she released his shirt and broke the kiss. hands smoothed along those gorgeous arms as they both took a moment to breathe and she laughed quietly in answer of his questioning gaze.
"what? too public for a reward?" she teased him, nails lightly trailing along the toned muscles of his biceps before they met for another heated kiss, "you deserve one for all the games you won tonight, don't you think? you did so well," she purred her praising between kisses, lips curled in her chesire smirk. as much as she teased him about how hard it seemed for him to keep his hands to himself half the time, she was by far worse when she wanted to be and her hands freely roamed his body, resting first on his hips to pull herself flush against him before they made their way up and around his neck, fingers running up into his hair.
kassy's arms then flexed as his hands slid down her back to lift her by her bum, turning them to settle her atop the arcade cabinet she'd backed him into. her legs spread to either side of him, locking behind his as she urged him closer, hand sliding down to his belt to quickly unbuckle it. "don't get too excited," she teased in a heated breath against his lips as she flicked the button of his jeans open and unzipped his pants. her hand slipped between the fabrics to feel him then, smirking as he groaned in relief, his head falling away to focus his lips on her neck. "hard already?" she taunted him in a husky tone, skin running with pleasurable chills as he kissed and sucked along the sensitive skin of her neck.
she palmed him through the fabric of his briefs as she then leaned in to kiss and nip along his neck. her thumb swirled lightly over the tip of him before her hand slid down to cup him completely and give a slow, gentle squeeze, dark eyes lighting with desire as she heard him moan her name against her skin. "i was going to wait until we got home but you're the patient one, not me," her lips brushed against his ear as she continued to tease him, breath catching when his hips would lift to press himself against her palm. "and if i can't do everything i want to you here, well..." she gently captured his earlobe between her teeth to give a slow tug, listening to his soft panting against her skin as she noticed his hands gripping the arcade game for dear life, "then at least i can give you a taste," she smiled against the skin of his neck, fingers lightly dragging up along the length of him she could feel.
"isn't that right, baby? that seems fair, doesn't it?" she purred before biting that sensitive skin of his neck again, petting though his hair with her other hand. she toyed with him a little longer before finally her hand slipped from his pants, not wanting to ruin their evening if she teased him too much nor wanting their noises to grow to a volume that would get them caught. besides, they were missing long enough now she was sure their friends would wonder. so, despite the quiet (and verging on not so quiet) moans and curses she had pulled from him, she leaned back on one hand now to look up at him with a incredibly pleased smile on her face. i see you enjoy this... he managed between panting and she laughed softly, "immensely," she answered brightly, her own voice a little breathless as her chest rose and fell softly.
"we should get back soon but... i'm ready to go home," she told him as she so very obviously raked her eyes over his deliciously, disheveled state as to the reason why. "then maybe you can not only see but taste just how much i enjoyed this," she winked at him, eating up the look such a suggestion drew from him.

@headstrongblake said: " please… say something. " / kass & o
kassy stood there, arms protectively crossed over her chest almost hugging herself as she looked down at the floor between the two. there were no real words she could say, nothing that could express how devastated she was. not only was nick leaving to go on this insane hunt but octavia was leaving with him? she felt numb at this point and it was better -- better than the heartbreak this all caused her, than the fear and anxiety and confusion she felt trying to understand the reasoning behind it. but even with her knowing the reasoning it wasn't enough, it still didn't make sense.
the light was gone in her eyes as she finally lifted her gaze to look at her best friend. she couldn't possibly begin to understand the pain octavia had gone through the past two years, the pain of not only almost losing nick but also losing grant yet again after everything. but honestly kassy thought for sure that it had to have been the breaking point. that along with the reasoning behind nicks torture, the fact that grant had been involved whether he wanted to be or not, and how he then left with the monster who--- kassy blinked slowly, swallowing as she offered octavia a shrug. "what am i supposed to say?" she countered in a deadened tone.
there was nothing she could say, both of them had made their minds up. they were leaving her to go find grant. she wouldn't outwardly admit how much this decision fucked with her but it did. how it made her view herself differently and she hated that it had her thinking she wasn't enough. she knew that this had nothing to do with her and everything to do with their love for that man but she couldn't help it. couldn't stop the way this absolutely crushed her.
her jaw clenched as she looked away, eyes unfocusing as she tried to stave off another wave of tears. it was clear they felt guilty enough, she didn't need them feeling any worse and as she exhaled sharply from her nose, she shrugged. "be safe. be careful. don't get yourselves killed." though her words sounded almost a bit callous she meant every bit of it. that it was clear she was thinking such things from the beginning, the moment she realized this was the stupid fucking reality. "take care of each other..." she avoided looking at her best friend, her own pain so heavy she didn't have the capacity to share octavia's too. "if you... could text me nightly so i know that you're both safe.... i'd... i'd appreciate it." she then added.
but no matter how much she desperately needed them to be okay, how much she loved them, she stood there cold. void of emotion while she spoke and closed off completely. no matter how badly she wanted to hug them both, hold them tight one last time she couldn't, she wouldn't. couldn't bare it. she had retreated behind her walls to protect herself from the possibilities of what could happen to them. swallowing thickly, she gave a sharp dismissing nod, stepping back when octavia stepped towards her. "come back safe," she spoke a little softer as her lips trembled before turning away.

@headstrongblake said: sender kisses receiver to distract them. / kass & nick
she'd been at this assignment for far too long but it had slipped under the radar with everything else going on and was due tomorrow at noon. her eyes were tired as her blinks grew slow and she took a sip of her cooling coffee from where she sat at nick's kitchen table. hands then raised to gently massage her temple as she heard the front door unlock and nick call out. relief flooded through her, glad to have someone home with her now but as he joined her in the kitchen she only uttered a few words to him before she got back to work.
she didn't watch him but she saw in her peripherals as he drew closer, coming to stand behind her chair and, she assumed, read her essay over her shoulder. how long have you been at this? he asked her and she groaned softly, a pout forming on her lips as she dipped her head back to rest against him as she looked up his body. "too long..." she answered before eyes fluttered closed as his hands gently massaged her shoulders. she was beyond stiff from sitting here for far too long and a soft hum escaped her, head tilting a little to the side.
"feels nice..." she murmured before she felt him carefully brush her hair from her neck followed by his lips against the skin of it. maybe she could afford a little break, she thought as she enjoyed the sensation of his mouth, the sparks of pleasure it caused. but she was so close to finishing and she sighed softly, deciding to continued typing away, though not stopping him as she felt his lips press kisses teasingly against her jaw.
on most days she was sure she would have no problem ignoring him, simply enjoying the attention while not giving him any back but today had been dreadfully long and if she had to reread this paragraph over once more she was going to throw her laptop in the sink. a soft hum escaped as nick gave the other side of her neck his attention now, hands sliding to close her laptop in defeat as one then lifted to cup the side of his head. fingers lightly threading through his hair as he continued -- her lips curling into a slow smile. "you really do love that spot don't you...?" she asked him quietly, voice a low purr as he had very much succeeded in distracting her.
the low hum in response from him had her smile grow, eyes falling closed as she pet through his hair. "you know what i'd love?" she asked him as she slowly turned her head, hand fisting in his soft tousled strands to pull him from her neck to look at her. she could see the hunger in his eyes, see as he thought of all the different things the answer to her question could be. she was sure at least half of them were right but she answered for him, "for you to carry me to bed and give me a full body massage." it was a more selfish request, not one she asked for often even if he'd eagerly oblige.
i can definitely handle that, the desire clear in his voice had her smirk, dark eyes swirling with her own as she leaned in to kiss him softly, "well aren't you a darling?" she teased softly as she rose from her seat, turning to face him now as her arms slid up around his neck, giving a small hop as he lifted her into his. she'd be lying if seeing him at the end of the day wasn't becoming her favourite thing during all the shit going on at the moment. with the stalker, with her busy classes and endless assignments, with not seeing octavia as much, not being able to go out and have her freedom as easily. nick was far too good at settling her nerves, at easing her stress, at sating her hunger.
"mmmm, and when we're done i'm going to need you to read over my assignment," she added with a grin against his neck where she'd begun kissing, that earned a rumbled laugh from him. whatever you say, sweetheart. --- and that response had a delighted shiver run through her as it was always what she liked to hear.

@headstrongblake said: [ refuse ] when receiver insists they break their hug, sender refuses and only tightens their grip around them / kassy & o
it was one of the few times after school that the two had decided to just go back to octavia's place to chill without any plans for the evening. well, any plans aside from lazing around while they shared a joint. but kassy wanted to draw so taking out her sketchbook from her backpack she leaned back against the couch, studying her best friend while she laid there on her back holding the joint to her mouth.
they chatted about classes, about the stupid test they had next tuesday and how they could be using this time to study before they both burst out laughing because as if. all the while kassy was sketching octavia, slowly adding enough details of the couch for it to look like octavia was laying on something but she focused on the details of her best friend. her lashes and the cute point of her nose. the profile of her face from the angle kassy was sitting. she carefully shaded the drawing to accentuate her cheeks before detailing the strands of her hair spilling over the side of the couch.
so what did you end up drawing? octavia eventually asked, the two far enough apart that she couldn't take a peek at what kassy was drawing. she shrugged with a small smirk and wiggle of her brows, "wouldn't you like to know," she teased as if that wasn't exactly the truth, that her bestie did wanna see. she laughed as octavia sat up, kassy having enough detail that she didn't mind her moving. she was just adding the finishing touches and erasing the slight smudge across her legs before tilting her head and holding the sketchbook out a little ways. it was still directed only towards kassy as she squinted and judged it before shrugging.
turning it she showed octavia with a grin, "just drawing my bestie lookin' cute as always," she teased softly as her best friend rose off the couch to come take a closer look. the awe in her eyes followed by her shock and excitement had kassy laugh. "you were the perfect muse," she teased, "didn't move at all really." she let octavia take it from her hands to look at it before watching her close it and place it on the couch beside her. kassy raised a brow before gasping as octavia jumped into her lap practically to hug her. i love it!
kassy chuckled, arms wrapping around octavia as she shook her head, "well good, i'm glad i did you justice," she mused, laughter in her tone. she patted her back, playfully rocking them side to side before she tried to lean back and break the hug, "okay--oh--oop--okay not yet..." she chuckled again as octavia hugged her tighter instead of loosening up. "listen, i can draw you all the time if you want," she murmured, snuggling against o's shoulder. "you can even have the drawing if you want, it's just a little thing..."

@headstrongblake said: “Your lips make me wonder what the rest of you would taste like…” / nick & kass
lips are slow to curl into a cheshire smile against nicks at that, an amused hum escaping her as she held his hips firmly, slowly she was leading him backwards towards his bedroom. though they'd stopped a handful of times getting distracted, their lips collided in hunger as hands moved to slowly discard clothing that left a trail behind them. it left him in just his boxer briefs and her in nothing but her white and lacy matching set. she'd stopped him from removing anymore because while many adored lingerie to simply discard it after a moment of admiration, she wore it to show it off for as long as she wished. nick seemed to have no problem with that though as his hands roamed along the plenty bare skin she did have showing.
"mmm," she hummed, lips travelling down to his neck to leave tingling marks against the sensitive skin she captured against her mouth, teeth grazing over it after. she backed him up against the bedroom door as she then looked up at him with her captivating, lust filled eyes. "if you play your cards right, you might just get the chance to find out," she teased him, amusement in her tone as he reached to fiddle with the door handle to open in and continue their way inside. her hands smoothed up his sides from his hips as they finally entered his bedroom and this time she didn't give him warning as she gave him a good push back against the bed.
as he fell back, she flashed him a devilish smile as she settled in his lap, her favourite place to be because she could feel him underneath her, feel how excited he was, how he twitched and jerked whenever she'd do something he really liked. it only made lust pool hotter in the pit of her stomach, to not only hear him but feel him too. she studied him with heated eyes, hips rolling to tease him, to rile him and watch him arch and groan. there was a heady rush of power she felt along with the pleasure pulsing through her veins as he laid beneath her. it had her greedy and possessive, leaning in to kiss him roughly, thoroughly. her hand went to his throat then, resting there but the temptation to squeeze had her fingers flex against his skin, her other hand sliding into his hair to grip a fistful tight, using it to direct him how she wished. he'd have to get used to that if he wanted to taste her elsewhere.
kassy could very well tease him like this forever, it was her absolute favourite thing to do and for nick to respond so positively to her and her wants, it made it all that more enticing, arousing, and difficult not to see just how desperate he could become. she would have never thought to witness him as she did, his breathy responses, his compliance, his eagerness to obey. he was downright breathtaking she thought as she broke the kiss to allow them a chance to catch their breath, grinding against the thin fabric between them. she pet his throat as she sat up, looking down at him in a rare moment of tender adoration, "you're gorgeous, baby," she told him softly, grip in his hair gentling to stroke through it.
"if you can keep your hands at your sides until i'm finished with you, then you'll get your reward," she taunted with a purr, hand applying a gentle pressure against his throat. "okay, baby? think you can do that?" she smirked as she leaned in again, lips teasing as they ghosted over his, watching as he tried to chase them which had her shiver with desire. he did so good for her as her hand slid between them to tease and torture him for a long while. she didn't let him finish though, no, if he wished to taste her, he would have to wait his turn. finally, she decided he'd been thoroughly ravished, a dark and husky laughter escaping her as she pet his face, "mm, good boy," she praised, dark hair curtaining over one side of them as she leaned forward to whisper, "you ready for your reward now?"

@headstrongblake said: " oh! is that what you're wearing tonight? " / kass & o
with all of her stuff moved out of her old apartment, kassy had completely taken over the guest room closet (and had begun to bleed into nicks closet) with her clothes. so trying to find what she wanted to wear for their christmas dinner had her digging through the closet and piles on the floor. at least she had octavia here to help her because it was a little overwhemling, she missed her apartment, having everything in its place but there was no way she could go back there.
kassy and nick had finally managed to not only move her things in but also find homes for just about all of it instead of it piled in boxes in the guest room. of course, some of it was still boxed up, things that nick already had, and there was some of her balcony furniture stored in the garage but aside from that she had pretty much fully moved in. it wasn't forever, but she would be forever grateful for nick for letting her stay and somewhat (if not completely) take over his space.
"i'm thinking about wearing red...." she murmured to octavia who was lounging on the bed while she dug through her somewhat colour coded dresses. "and you with your signature and beautiful deep green?" she asked, glancing over her shoulder at octavia with a smile. "then together we'll be the perfect christmas couple," she teased. pulling out the dress in mind along with the perfect red faux fur coat, she laid them on the bed beside o, watching as her best friend sat up to take a closer look. oh! is that what you're wearing tonight?
"i think so, what do you think?" she asked, tapping her lips with her finger. this year she'd opted for simple sparkly read nails instead of the snowmen. "it'd go with these," she added, holding out her hands as she wiggled her fingers to show off her nails. "with maybe a silver choker.... and silver heels? or should i do gold... i love gold but... i have silver hoops too..." she hummed as she turned back to the boxes of shoes under her clothes, crouching as she dug through them.
"and how should i do my hair?" she then asked, pulling out a couple pairs of silver heels for them to pick. blowing her dark strands from her face, she then gathered it all, "should i do it up? or... keep it down?" she turned to the mirror in the room that was obscured a little by her easel, holding her hair up in a bun. "a bun? maybe a sleek high pony? or...." she let it fall, then parted it far on the side to give it volume and posing. "what do you think?" she turned to o before sighing as she reached out to take her hands then plopping into her lap, "help meee....."

@headstrongblake said: [ submission ]   your muse letting mine take the lead and submitting to them / nick & kass, he’s dying at the letting, as if he LETS her do anything, she does what she wants
kassy had caught him eyeing the box of gear and sex toys she'd brought over from her apartment, and whether it was simply curiosity or interest she couldn't be sure, but she teased him about it either way. kassy hadn't meant to bring them, the box they were in had been unmarked and she hadn't wanted to waste any time sorting through things with all that was going on but, it wasn't an unhappy surprise. she had decided to stop her side business for the time being but a brow rose and a devious little smirk curled at the corners of her mouth as an idea sparked. "see something you like?" she teased, strolling towards the box.
with a couple items picked, she headed towards where nick had stayed leaning against the door frame, offering him a deceptively innocent smile as her free hand trailed along his waist, fingers dancing in a brief but tantalizing manner across his jeans. she gave him a silent beckon to follow her, watching as his gaze darkened with lust, how his chest sucked in a breath at her touch causing her own deep brown eyes to begin to smolder with desire.
she needed a little break for some fun, between school being so busy, her side business on hold, and the stalker practically uprooting her life, this was just what she needed. him. with the control she felt that she was losing, nick had always been so good at graciously giving it to her. handing it over without a second thought and not only did it have a deep, hungry desire burning in the pit of her stomach, it also meant more to her than she could ever properly articulate. he joined her in his bedroom and as she shut the door, she offered him her signature cheshire smile. "take off your clothes," she ordered, voice a purr as she moved to join him, setting the soft rope and blindfold down on the bed before unzipping his pants while he pulled off his shirt.
her hands smoothed up along the bare expanse of his chest once his shirt was discarded, dark eyes admiring his form before they lifted to meet his gaze. "are you willing to try something new for me?" she asked him sweetly, head tilting as a hand rose to stroke his cheek, nails lightly teasing as they ran along his jaw. "i promise it will be worth your while," her voice dripped like honey as she then gave him a gentle push. kassy watched him with a heated gaze as he obliged, leaning back on the bed, her lashes heavy as she then crawled atop him. settling in his lap, kassy gave in a moment, leaning down to capture his lips with her own, to taste him with a greedy kiss.
she let him touch her at first, his hands rising to cup her face before sliding to her hips that rocked against him with a deliciously slow friction earning a stifled groan against her lips. lust spread throughout her in a lazy heat, a devillish smile curling up at the corners of her mouth while lips pulled back from brilliantly white teeth that carefully, and not so gently, held nick's kiss swollen bottom lip captive between them. letting it slide free, her hands went to his wrists as she sat back, directing his arms above his head to rest against the mattress. hovering over him, her hair spilled around her to curtain their faces, dark eyes captivating as they locked with his. "do you trust me?" she asked in a husky tone.
yes. he breathed without hesitation and that lazy fire began to grow hotter, her heart giving a surprised squeeze which she chose to ignore. his answer earned him a beautiful smile from kassy, adoration and pride swirling in mix with her desire as she leaned in to reward him with another teasing kiss. she then skillfully tie his wrists together in a decorative yet firm pattern, the rope snug but soft against his skin. giving a gentle tug once they were tied to the bedboard, kassy sat up once again, watching as she then dragged her nails down his arms and chest, leaving light red lines blossoming behind. he was beautiful, especially like this and she wanted him covered in claiming marks made by her. he arched under her touch and she offered him another teasingly slow grind of her hips, wondering just how long he would last before he'd grow desperate.
next was the blindfold and she gently placed it over his head, covering those beautiful and piercing crystal blue eyes. she'd miss them, the way he looked at her sometimes threatened to leave her breathless but with one of his senses hindered, the others would grow far more sensitive, especially hearing and touch. she lowered closer to him, softly petting through his hair, lips brushing his ear as she spoke to him. "just relax for me, baby, and enjoy yourself," she whispered, her hands now freely trailing along his skin. her touch was light and teasing, and with the blindfold on he wouldn't be sure just where or when she would.
her lips trailed along his jaw and down his neck as kassy left ravenous, bruising kisses against his skin. a soft and pleased hum escaped her when her hand trailed between them to smooth over where nick was trapped beneath the fabric of his boxer briefs. she smiled against his skin, lips continuing to trail down his chest that arched once again beneath her. lust was a heady feeling as she felt the way his muscles flexed, how his arms tensed, tugging at his restraints with every noise she managed to drag from him. she was toying with him, still her hands almost feather light where he wished for it most while her mouth gave a hungry contrast of hickies and bites. "mmm... be patient for me, darling," she purred with a smirk as her fingers hooked in the last remaining article of clothing he had on, "i'm only getting started."
