L. Fisher will have to decide before he can give a decision in the case of a Chinese suing for $3,182 in supreme court here.

Ling Kok Lai, Chinese gardener, on January 12 last, when crossing a street intersection, collided with a bicycle ridden by Claude Peden and another youth, receiving fatal injuries. A brother of the victim is now suing the bicycle rider on behalf of the family.

The evidence taken at the trial here was conclusive that the Chinese had entered the lane of traffic, had seen the approaching cyclist and had moved backwards and forwards twice before the impact occurred.

In my garden there is a good deal of toads (good!). When it rains, they like get out of wherever they usually are and stand on the walkway getting soaked in the rain (good!). Unfortunately, when it's night I'm afraid I might step on one of them standing stupidly in the walkway (bad!!): is it enough for me to loudly thump my feet on the ground to scare them away? I know this works for lizards but toads seem to be much more stubborn.

To my knowledge this will not work for toads. They are, as you say, stubborn. My only recommendation is to get a decent torch, or get a waterproof cover for your phone and use its torch, and make sure you can see the toads so that you can be careful to not step on them.

People in journalism and medical professions should genuinely be staging a global outrage right now if this is how their professions are being treated. I haven't added posts about the many many journalists and their families that have been murdered by Israel this week.

Why tf are they so desperate to stop coverage? Is their story not believable anymore? Journalists especially should take this personally if they have any integrity and respect for their job. Doctors around the world should have no doubts about who is and isn't the evil side anymore.

Name one logical argument that makes it ok for this to happen and for the western governments to just stay silent? We all know the hundreds of sensational headlines and news bulletins that came out for victims in other countries (yes I will compare, I'm tired and sick of everything in this world and done with everyone's lectures about how we should or shouldn't talk about tragedies).

random thought of the day: i don’t think harry would ever feel comfortable driving a car again after martinaise. just holding the clutch of the kineema was enough to put him on the edge of a breakdown, and that was while knowing that kim would never in a million years let him actually drive the thing. even without the conscious memory of nearly drowning in the coupris, he has a stress reaction just thinking about driving. honestly, even just being a passenger might be rough on him if the association is strong enough in his brain. which then makes me wonder how the ‘good ending’ drive home with jean & co went lol

Coynbee Arrested. ---- RUSHED TO HOSPITAL; DIES ON ADMISSION ---- Machine Owned by Reliance Auto Company - Carried Four Passengers. ---- Standing in the street waiting to signal an approaching street car upon which he desired to travel down town, J. F. Gray, of 1863 Fifth avenue west, was struck down and killed by a passing automobile at the corner of Fourth avenue and Cypress street last night a little before 7 o'clock.

The automobile responsible for the tragedy is owned by the Reliance Automobile company, and was driven by Richard Coynbee. It is alleged that the machine was being driven at a fast rate of speed upon the wrong side of the street. Coynbee is being held under arrest until after the inquest.

Dr. Johnson, 2395 Fourth avenue was at once called to Gray's assistance by one of the passengers of the car, but all that the physician could do was to order the removal of the man to the General hospital. Upon the arrival of the police ambulance this was done.

The man died shortly after being admitted to the emergency ward. He was badly crushed about the region of the heart. An inquest will be held. Motorman McAuley, who was in charge of the street car for which Gray was waiting, was a witness of the accident. Other witnesses were Conductor Robert Wallace, G. R. Jones, 1186 Granville street, and the passengers of the automobile; manager Cody, of the Reliance Auto company; Mr. Ernest A. Cagnon, Granville Mansions, and Mrs. A. E. Sharpe and her daughter, Miss C. Sharpe, Elysium hotel.
