at this point, any possibility of this manga having a happy ending would involve a cop-out on Adachitoka’s part. And at the end of the day, I value good writing over the safety and happiness of every character. So I actually hope the ending isn’t entirely happy. I hope some aspect of the story ends on a sad note, like Hiyori’s death or Yato releasing Yukine.

A bittersweet-at-best ending would be a lot more satisfying than everyone climbing up off rock bottom and living happily ever after. I'm not a fan of conclusions that wrap everything in a pristine bow. Adachitoka are brilliant and ballsy writers, but even the best and ballsiest writers sometimes go for the safe conclusions, often due to pressure from the audience or publisher. After all this, I pray the ending is satisfying.

Naming entities with the koto no ha

Kinglyyato's post on the ayakashi in Yukine reminded me of the koto no ha's original use. With it being a brush that names ayakashi, turning people into shinki is not its intended function and more of an exploit.

Notable examples include: - "Father” telling Yato he could lend him his brush to make Hiyori his shinki during the hospital arc

- And Yukine in this arc.

To be fair Nora's story isn’t exactly revealed yet and we know nothing about Edachi/Kugaha's past (though Chiki's effect on him was...strange. The only name he ended up remembering was Edachi?) so they can’t exactly be used for or against this theory beyond what has already been shown. 

Anyway, the brush doesn't name the people, but the ayakashi taking them over. So theoretically, destroying/removing the ayakashi would remove the name put on the spirit. Which would be great when taking current events into account.

Also friendly reminder that Izanami's brushes allow the user to not be blighted by the ayakashi they have control of:

Unfortunately, this brings forth some very troubling implications if the theory that Yato was named with a brush turns out to be true (this is Tsukuyomi theory territory at this point)

A) The less disturbing possibility: A god’s aramitama can be named because it counts as corruption like ayakashi

Or

B) He's had an ayakashi implanted in him this whole time.

A possible sign of him being named with the brush can be seen in the similarities between the shadows the two produce and manipulate:

Then there's all the times he's done things while seemingly unaware of having done it, but that goes into another subject I might get into in a later post. Maybe.

Hi guys, I know it's been a long while since I've posted (or at least it feels like it lol)

I just wanted to let people know I had my gallbladder removed yesterday and am now in recovery mode at home

It's been really hard for me to sit up, I'm taking 500mg Tylenol and 200mg ibuprofen, any tips for how to sit up without worrying my stitches could pop would be great lol
