Stop Abusing The Word Nepotism Cause The Problem Lies With Us

It’s not as if Favouritism, Comfort Levels or Nepotism did not exist.
It is very natural and basic for your loved ones to support you and try and give you a platform.
February 2017, it’s been almost three years that the word Nepotism has been in the headlines. It’s really disheartening to see so much negativity all around social media. Guess it’s time we need to get real.
This debate caught everyone’s attention when Kangana Ranaut walked in to promote her film Rangoon on Koffee With Karan.
Kangana exactly knew what she had to say and Karan also had an idea about the buzz Kangana’s statement would create. However, I am sure both did not imagine the ramifications of the same.
What’s surprising is the fact that the show, Koffe With Karan, is not aired live, which means the makers, the broadcasters as well as the Karan Johar has total control over the content that went on aur. Come to think of it, they could have very easily edited out all that Kngana had said, but they let it go on air and that too with a lot of pride. As we all know l, it did backfire, so now why cry over what’s their own doing.
What’s ironical is the fact that every aspiring actor, actress or technical aspires to be a part of a Dharma Film or a Yash Raj Production. Now, if that’s the case, then why blame them cause it’s us who have made them what they are.
Also, most of the actors who have been established, rarely give a chance to first timers. If we need talent, who do not belong to a Bollywood lineage, to step in, then it’s we who will have to make an effort.
Nepotism exists everywhere, but it’s so in your face in Bollywood as there is always a Face To The News. For example a headline that reads; Karan Johar Casts Jhanvi Kapoor in his film as apposed to a news piece which reads; Doctor Kumar opens a hospital for his doctor son, makes a better read!!
All said and done, it’s high time we need to get over with this negativity and move on.
