I'm sure most people will just use Scaramouche which makes sense but like

I feel bad

I have no idea why (yes I do) but the idea of using Scaramouche for him makes me sad. That's an identity he was abused and manipulated into, one that he doesn't want to associated with anymore. That's the entire point of this quest. Kunikuzushi is another identity he isn't comfortable with anymore, understandably so. But I also don't like calling him Wanderer since it's such a vague name hrgfgff

The emotion, the vulnerability, all while being completely livid and angry, it's perfect! I love who the Wanderer represents, I love everything about it- I know a lot of people got angry about wanderer "blaming" the kid for dying, but honestly, that's one of the most realistic reactions I've seen.

"How dare you leave me here?"

"How could you die like this?"

"Why would you leave me?"

"Why would you do this to me?"

Getting angry at someone for dying is one of the most common coping mechanisms out there; I would know, as I've been there several times myself. In reality, you're not angry at the person, you're just upset.

Not only does he represent the more angry ways to cope, but Wanderer also represents overcoming your battles and living for yourself instead of for others. He also shows that "redemption" comes in many forms, not just becoming a hero.

But my favorite?

I think my favorite part watching his growth. How he struggles to find an identity, constantly picking new identities only to through each one out the window time and time again. I love how after all this, he's finally found something comfortable for him. I love how he's finally happy, at least as happy as he can be in the moment.

Recently, I've noticed a lot of people hating on Paimon because she's getting more snappy. Truthfully this has been going on since Inazuma, but many are noticing it in Sumeru specifically.

Is it just me, or is she really not that bad for who she is? Paimon is based on a fairy, which are often child-like, motivated by food and treasure, etc etc. Even if this theory is wrong, she obviously has the mental capabilities of a child.

And if you think about it? Her bluntness, unnecessary/annoying comments, one-track mind, and selfishness all match that of a child anywhere from 3-7, but I'd say closer to 5. Most of her comments are from ignorance, not arrogance. She's not trying to be mean. She looks at Razor's box of nails, an empty wine bottle, etc. And since she doesn't understand the significance of it, it's a box of junk.

Think about it. You see the same thing, the only reason you think it's of value is because his parents left it for him. However, since she's not mentally old enough to understand, she sees nothing of value. Annoying? Yes. Rude? Not intentionally, but yes. Unreasonable? No.

While she's definitely getting out of line (so is the Traveler), keep in mind she's basically a floating five year old trying to kindly guide an increasingly egotistical and snarky "hero" who's getting more and more tired of Teyvat.

Kaeya and Diluc backstory spoilers!!

Is it just me, or was Kaeya breaking the news to Diluc on the day his dad died one of the nicer things he could've done? Allow me to elaborate:

If he had decided to tell Diluc he was a spy later on, then he would've been hurt twice. However, what Kaeya did was rip the band-aid off. Prolonging the bad news might have made things worse between them too, because he'd be keeping that secret for that much longer.

However, by telling him on that day, now Diluc has had one really, really bad day instead of two. Sounds insignificant, but would you prefer to have moderate amount of bad luck for a week or a lot of bad luck for a day? Most people go with the second one, and that's what Kaeya did. If I were in Kaeya's position, I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing. This made it easier for Diluc to recover as well, most likely.

So maybe, he isn't as stupid as people thought.

Maybe he did this on purpose, trying to protect his brother one last time.

"Hey, love?" He questions, while brushing the hair out of your face.

"Helllooooo?" He playfully questions, but his concern is starting to show. He kneels down in front of you, cupping your cheeks and staring directly at you. Usually, you start to blink and question why he's on the floor.

This is the worst he's seen it. He swiftly gets up and walks to the freezer. The moment this first happened in his presence he did his research on your condition. Rather than just grabbing one, he takes the entire tray of ice cubes and walks over to you.

Heizou hastily flips your hand so you're able to hold the ice cube, and plops one there. Now he waits.

The fog slowly dissipates as you start to feel a dull sting in your hand. Then it turns into a sharp one, instinctively you attempt to move your hand. Only to feel someone holding your fingers in place over the sting.

You blinked a few times, starting to faintly smell your favorite food. Slowly, you return to your living room, with Heizou sitting in front of you. His (now) cold hands over yours, sighing in relief.

"I finally got you back love, how are you feeling?"

"Better, now can you let go of my hand? It's cold."

"Not until we're doing playing your favorite game! Now, what are 5 things you can see?"

As much as I love fanon Cyno, CEO of horrid jokes and puns, a crazy strong guy who could kill you showing up at your door at 3am because he came up with a new joke, etc etc

DON'T FORGET, Cyno only tells jokes if you ask for them (voicelines) or if he senses someone's uncomfortable with him/the atmosphere is too tense (character story)

Just pointing this out because I've seen a lot of people saying canon cyno is nothing but a jester-

I'm still learning about his character, but from what I've gathered, he's a good guy who stands by his morals and does what he thinks is best in the long run. For example, despite knowing the ritual he performed on Collei was so painful that many preferred death, he still did it without hesitation because he knew it would help her in the future.

He's very caring towards those he's close with. For our birthday, he takes three days off of his schedule just to adventure with us. He offers to cook for us (and warns us it might taste terrible). And while he's normally a very serious and stoic person, he finds joy in the little things like card games or coming up with jokes.

Honestly I adore Cyno so pardon the ramble, I just want to appreciate him HAHA he's genuinely so sweet :')

The weather is the nicest it's been all year, so you decide to be outside and enjoy the calming ambience with your lover. The plan didn't include a nice nap, yet you fall asleep right on their lap. What do they do?

You and Kazuha decided to relax near a small pool of water west of Liyue's gates. There's some shade right by the water underneath a tree, plopping yourself down you pat the spot next to you inviting Kazuha to join you. He sees the way you shift attempting to be comfortable, so he asks if you would rather rest on his lap. You take up the offer right away, and he giggles at you enthusiasm to use him as a pillow. He takes the sweater you brought and drapes it over you like a blanket.

Being the poet he is he tries to find the right words to describe this moment. Attempting to form a poem, he sits in silence looking around the surroundings and petting your hair.

After finding the perfect words and taking note of them in his small poetry notebook, he looks down to his lap realizing how your breathing has evened out, he can even hear your light snoring if he tires. It's only noon, yet it seems the day has drained you already. Knowing you need rest, he stays awake to watch, treasure hoarders have been spotted nearby, and he wants to guarantee your safety.

While waiting for you to wake up, he reaches for flowers nearby and weaves them together. When you wake up, you have a crown of flowers placed your head. -poetry anon

did you end up giving your wanderer a name yet? i've also been agonizing over it for ages lmao

the route my mind is going is this: i wanna give him a name that's related to buddhism because i find that his story has fairly buddhist undertones what with the concept of rebirth and even the name change mirroring the one from the novel journey to the west

so i did some very surface level research and i might go with a chinese name (just because i'm chinese too and i wanna have even more of a connection with him lol)

zi from self and hong from void/emptiness (both in cantonese) - zihong; in mandarin it would be zikong but i think that looks a little off lmao

"kong" derives from the concept of sunyata in buddhism which is not emptiness as in "nothingness" but rather the emptiness that gives rise to everything, so sort of a blank slate of infinite possibilities. (it's also a nice reference to "sun wukong" from the journey to the west novel whose name means awakened to/aware of sunyata)

"zi" meaning inside oneself but also as a reference to "zixing" which is the buddhist concept of svabhava meaning "own being" or "own becoming", having possession of oneself/intrinsic nature so the name would signify taking possession of the void within himself, i.e. becoming his own person and all the possibilities opened to him now???

i dunno tho i'm also looking for something that my brain can naturally refer to him as, it's so hard to train myself out of "scara" u know

I did! I named him "Masaki" which seems to have various meanings, but my favorite meanings were "beautiful", "new beginning", "honorable". And it has connections to trees, which because of irminsul and the ideology of trees for growth and new beginnings, I really liked for him.

That's absolutely beautiful omg

I love the connections to buddhism, that really suits him! And I think having a name that coincides with you is lovely as well. Honestly any name you choose will sound strange at first after hearing Scara for so long, but I think Zihong is a beautiful name!
