Master Builder
Lauren Hemp x Reader
Summary: You work at Legoland
Tumblr media
You spent most of your time tucked away in your workshop, isolated from the rest of the world.
Your work was repetitive most of the time, forcing Lego bricks together and gluing them in place, but you loved it. You had done a lot to become the head Master Builder of the Legoland Windsor Resort and sitting in your little room with your earphones in and nothing but Lego bricks was soothing.
You got to do what you loved day-in, day-out and watch as your creations got displayed around the theme park.
You weren't used to having people in your workspace (all of your coworkers knew not to interrupt you while you were building) so you didn't expect the thunder of feet on the stairs as you worked on your life size model of a leopard.
You paid no mind to it though. Sometimes the park booked schools to come look at the workshops and as the head Master Builder, they always ended up in your one last.
Sure, little kids were a bit annoying and always tried to touch your models but you could tolerate them for the ten minutes they spent in your room.
So, you didn't even turn around as you dug through your drawer of black bricks.
Arms wrapped around your shoulders and a familiar wet kiss was placed on your cheek.
You wiped it off in disgust and tore off your headphones, whipping your head around to glare at the offender.
Chloe Kelly grinned back at you.
"Must you do that?"
"Course I do!" She said," Only the best for Mrs Hemp!"
"The fact that you think you're the best is very arrogant," You replied, hunching back over your model with the black brick you had fished out.
"y/n's our head master builder," The tour guide said," It seems that she knows a few of you already..."
"You can leave them here," You said," I can take them from here."
"Are you sure? You're-"
"I'm nearly done. Can you call the site team and get them to move this outside the gift shop?"
"Of course."
You glued on your last piece and took your usual photo of the model before turning around to face the rest of the Lionesses. You hadn't met many of them in person apart from the City girls, whom you each greeted, but your eyes were immediately drawn to your wife.
Like whenever she ended up at your work, she was digging through the drawers of your mini models.
"If you're going to take some of them," You said," Then I'm going to need some of my other ones back. You're robbing me blind, Lauren."
She smiled at you. "You can make more. What's yours is mine, right?"
You rolled your eyes. "You're so lucky we're married."
She pressed a little kiss to your lips. "I know."
You picked out a few little parrots and a wolf for Lauren to put in her bag. "I didn't know you were coming today."
"It was meant to be a surprise. We've got the next few days off before we fly out."
You kissed her cheek. "It's nice that you came to see me." You slipped your hand into hers, swinging it for a moment before sending her an ear-splitting smile.
She shrugged. "I just came for the Lego."
You pulled your hand away. "In that case, I'm sure that Chloe can take your place."
"You're a catch!" Chloe crowed from the other side of your workshop," I'll fill Lauren's space if you're asking!"
"Hey!" Lauren grabbed your hand again. "Get your own wife!" She squeezed your hand and pouted in a way that had you kissing it off her face.
"Come on, pouty," You said," You've only got a few more hours before you have to go to your hotel. Don't waste them being grumpy."
Lauren sighed. "Only if you take me to see Miniland. It's very mean that you guys keep updating it while I'm in Manchester."
You laughed, already pulling her out of your workshop by the big double doors that led into the park. "The work doesn't stop just because Lauren Hemp isn't here."
"It should," Lauren said as you led her and the group over to Miniland," You know how much I love coming here."
"You love coming here because you get in for free," You reminded her with a soft smile," Always take advantage of me, you are."
"Only when it's about Lego."
From behind you, you could hear one of the girls say in amusement," Of course, Hempo's wife works at Legoland. I don't know what I expected."
"There's a bit of a surprise for you now," You said as you wandered through Miniland (with the same amount of pride you always got from looking at your work)," And I want you to be very happy because I had to fight tooth and nail for this."
Lauren's brow furrowed as she frowned. "Huh? But you didn't know we were coming."
"I didn't," You confirmed," But you haven't been here for a while now. I did want to show you on our anniversary but," You shrugged," You're here now and you would have found out anyway."
You covered her eyes with your hands and guided her over to the model of Wembley.
"Okay," You said, feeling an anxious kind of excitement filling your body," Are you ready?"
"Ready."
You took your hands away from her to reveal the final of the Euros made out of Lego figures.
It had taken you a while to get permission to change what was going on in the model and even longer to get speciality minifigures made to represent everybody.
Lauren looked wildly between you and the model even as all of her teammates crowed out and exclaimed their excitement.
"Do you like it?" You asked.
"Baby," She said," I love it!" Her hands wrapped around your waist and she spun you around. "You're so brilliant! Look! That's me!"
"Good god," Chloe muttered behind you," She's more excited about a bloody Lego figure than having her shirts sold."

ONE FOR THE MONEY, TWO FOR THE SHOW
Tumblr media
pairings: lionesses x captain!reader
warnings: swearing. england’s captain gets a red card for the very first time, and it doesn’t go down well with the team.
author’s note: first time writing for the woso community lol :) anyway, hope you guys like it !!
•••••••
''I went for the ball! You have eyes, right?''
The referee gave her a look, the same one a disappointed parent would give their child after letting out a swear word. ''Keep it clean, you know better.''
The England captain had raised an eyebrow at that last bit of the sentence, the officials usually not keeping her experience as a player in mind. Y/N just gave her a mindless nod, the yellow card was given- no need to fight it anymore.
''Clearly not a foul.'' Georgia said to her teammate, sticking out her hand for a subtle high-five.
Y/N chuckled at the midfielder’s words. ''Don’t worry about it, G.'' She slapped her hand, jogging back to her position.
The game continued, more yellow cards having been handed out to both the English and Scottish players. The referee’s patience seemed to have run out by some weird, unknown reason that none of the players had worked out.
Despite this, Y/N wasn’t too worried about her own yellow card. She’s had them plenty of times in the past, for the right and wrong reasons, so she was practically chilling on the pitch as her team led the match 3-0.
However, this changed as Hempo received her first card of the night.
She and the Manchester City player had a great friendship. Lauren joined the squad at a young age, and Y/N knew how hard it could be as the youngest of the team, so she took her under her wing. The younger one had been immensely grateful for the striker’s support, finding a role-model and older sister figure in her.
The captain hadn’t seen what had caused the referee to lift up the yellow card towards the winger, so she separated from the players as they were waiting on a corner, and walked over to the official.
''Why did you give her a yellow card?''
For some reason, the question was too much for the woman in the neon clothing, and without any words, she pulled the same card she had given out seconds ago and held it up high.
Realization dawned on her, the outcome of two yellow cards was one of the easiest rules in football.
Y/N didn’t even see the red card being brought out, her heart dropping to her stomach working as a distraction to her surroundings.
''No, no, no- what did I even do?'' As soon as the gears in her head started going again, her mouth started speaking.
The referee didn’t answer her question, simply letting out a deep breath as she could see the sea of Lionesses running up to her. ''Fucking hell, she didn’t even do anything!'' Rachel yelled, a big frown on her face as she fought her way to the front.
While a large number of her teammates argued back-and-forth with the referee, Millie and Alex brought their younger captain into their arms.
''It’s okay, don’t worry~'' They chorused, repeating the words over and over again, seeing the distress on their teammate’s face.
''I just asked her a question! I swear, it was just a question!'' Y/N defended herself, rambling almost.
''We know, we believe you, don’t worry about it.'' Alex assured her, feeling sad as she watched the captain’s distress unfold.
The referee tried getting closer, urging Y/N to get off the pitch. ''You have to get off now, Y/L!''
''Why are you giving me a fucking red card? I just asked you why Hempo got a yellow! What, we can’t ask questions now?'' She was going through all the stages, anger taking over as she pulled herself out of Millie and Alex’s embrace, stomping over to the referee.
''It was the tone, Y/N.'' She answered, although she didn’t seem too sure herself.
The striker’s eyes widened. ''What tone?! I asked you a simple question!'' She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
''You’re going to give red cards for questions now?!'' Ella spoke up, her voice booming above those of the others.
''Y/N, get off the pitch now, you’ve wasted enough time now.''
The captain had an uncharacteristic, defeated look on her face. She was about to take off her captain band, but a hand stopped her. ''No, you’re not going anywhere.'' Millie grabbed her arm, and gently dragged her behind herself, so the Chelsea player worked as a human shield between the referee and her teammate.
Y/N was touched by her team’s protectiveness. As the captain, she was often the one to stick up for others or argue with the officials a little longer than necessary if it pertained members of her squad. The fact that the center forward had never received a red card in her professional career, must have been an extra factor. She wasn’t a clean player, per say, but she knew how to toy with the boundaries of the game, and her great argumentative skills greatly helped in avoiding being booked.
''You alright?'' Lucy asked, pulling her further away from the chaos.
''I got a fucking red card, Luce! No! I am not okay!'' She let out, the older woman instinctively caressing her back at the visible frustration. ''You’re good, it’s alright.''
''It’s not- oh, fuck sake.'' Y/N swore, glancing away from Lucy to her teammates still fighting her red card with the referee.
LJ joined them, watching the chaos unfold. ''I turn around for one second, and suddenly everyone is running towards the ref.'' Lauren said, her indifferent tone making Lucy chuckle.
''The boss got a red.'' The Barcelona defender explained.
The youngest James sibling's eyes widened. "What? You?" She pointed at the captain, who nodded, unamused.
Y/N could see the official signaling for her to come closer, ignoring the arguments the Lionesses were giving her. ''You have to get off now, this is becoming a hazard. I’m not going to change my decision.'' She said, matter-of-fact.
It was evident that whatever the captain would tell her, would fall on deaf ears. ''Whatever, you’re fucking miserable.'' She looked her in the eyes as the insult was spoken, not an ounce in her mind or body caring about the consequences of it.
The truth was that she was the miserable one. It might have been naive of her to think she could go her entire career without receiving a red card, but she didn’t expect today to be the day.
She walked over to Millie, taking the captain's band off and handing it over, without saying anything further.
The rest of the English squad watched with sad eyes, and disheartened feelings as their captain, and arguably most important player, walked off the pitch with still double digits in game time left.
Sarina had jumped out of her seat the minute the referee pulled the second yellow card out of her pocket, infuriated over one of her key (and personal favorite) players being expelled from the game over something silly as asking why her teammate was being booked.
As Y/N passed her to go inside the tunnel, the Dutchwoman grabbed her hand, her eyes still on the game. ''We’ll talk, okay?'' Sarina didn’t expect an answer back, having worked with the player long enough to know she would want to chat with her about it.
It was a despairing sight to see the world-class player stroll all alone to the changing room, her usual confident aura replaced for hung shoulders, and eyes that told the entire world what she thought of herself.
Disappointing.
That was the best word she could come up with to summarize her feelings; disappointed in herself, disappointed in the officials, but above all, she felt like she had disappointed her team and staff- and as the captain, that was something hard to swallow.
She sat alone in the changing room- members of the staff figuring she wanted to be left on her own.
That changed as the door opened.
Keira had been subbed off a few minutes before the incident had happened, Katie taking her place on the midfield. She, along with the entire bench, had a hard time believing what was happening in front of them.
A bad feeling settled in her as Y/N walked off the pitch all by herself, not a single soul following her. Therefore, the Barcelona player excused herself and trailed their captain.
''You mind?'' She already knew the answer, but asking didn’t hurt.
Y/N shook her head, motioning for Keira to take the spot next to her. ''You? Never.''
''How you feeling?''
''Like shit.''
''Yeah, I predicted that.''
The striker chuckled at the monotone voice, feeling some sort of delight after what felt like forever. ''I’m so confused.''
''You’re not the only one. I didn’t hear what you said, but it couldn’t have been that bad for you to get another yellow- and don’t even get me started on the first one, obviously not a foul.'' Keira rambled, yet sounding sophisticated.
''I just- I feel like I let everyone down. I know we’re leading the game, but still- I should be out there playing. I’m the captain for fuck sake.'' Y/N swung her arm towards the door, before letting it fall on her knee with a hard slap.
Keira sighed at her words. ''You’re always so hard on yourself. No one is angry at you or disappointed.''
''I’m not hard on myself, Kei. I just have an important role in this team, so I can’t afford to make mistakes.'' The captain clarified, although it didn’t do much to dispute the midfielder’s words.
''Yeah, that sounds like someone who is not a perfectionist.'' The sarcastic tone didn’t escape Y/N, and she bumped their shoulders. ''No, but, come one. You know what I mean- not only do I have to keep the entire team together, I also have to score goals or make sure that someone else scores them.''
It was the first time she had truly expressed the pressure that was being put on her, she was known in the team for keeping it all to herself. Keira attentively listened, feeling almost honored it was her that the captain was venting to.
''I like the pressure, though. I know I can handle it, I’ve been doing that for years, I know I was only made captain cause Steph got injured, but it’s still a huge deal to me, you know? I know I don’t always say it, but it really does.''
''We know it does. You might not say it, but it shows. You’re the best captain I’ve ever got to work with, you have a way of getting everyone together.'' Keira interjected, complimenting her leadership skills.
Y/N raised her eyebrows at the praise. ''Best captain, huh? So better than Alexia?'' She mentioned the captain at Barcelona.
Keira lightly slapped her arm. ''Yeah, you like that, huh? Don’t tell her that, though.''
''You know I’ll tell her as soon as I get the chance.'' Of course the England captain wouldn’t mention it, but making her friend think that didn’t hurt.
''If that makes you smile, then I’ll take it.''
''You’re flattering me, Kei.'' Y/N muttered, not quite believing the praise that was coming out of her mouth.
The midfielder scoffed. ''Hey! I’m being genuine!'' She exclaimed, almost offended. ''Don’t let this one game affect your confidence. I know you like everything perfect, but these kinds of things are out of our hands,'' she referred to the referee’s decisions, ''you’re still the boss, you know? Or what did they say after the Euro’s… you’re an icon.''
The captain gave Keira a little shake at the mention of the compliment she had been given by a reporter after the final at Wembley, embarrassed by being called iconic. ''Oh, shut it, you!''
''It’s true, though! It stings right now, but you’ll get over it. By the time the next game comes around, no one will be talking about it anymore.'' Keira’s words did give her some comfort, knowing it was the truth.
''Yeah, I know… It was kinda cute, though- the way everyone was defending me.'' A small smile found its way to the player's face.
''You always do it for us, so it was time we all do it for you.'' She simply said, as if it was not a big deal.
Y/N did not answer, unsure of what an appropriate follow-up could be.
''Did you see Tooney’s face? I know she was being serious, but it was too good.'' Keira chuckled, reminding the captain of the way Ella immediately started yelling with a scowl.
The striker laughed a bit louder this time, starting to see the humour in the situation. ''Yeah, what a lovely girl.''
''She was ready to start a revolution for you. Probably still is.'' Keira grinned, enjoying the shift in Y/N's mood.
''And then you had LJ who didn't even know what was happening, she came up to me and Lucy- totally confused.'' Y/N explained.
The midfielder bursted into laughter at Y/N's revelation. ''Wait, LJ didn't get the memo?''
''No, she just casually walked up to us and was like 'why is everyone running towards the ref?' I guess she thought it was a new halftime tradition or something. Lucy filled her in and her eyes almost bulged out of her head.'' The captain chuckled at the memory.
''Classic LJ.'' Keira remarked.
As they chatted, the sound of the crowd outside the changing room echoed, reminding Y/N of the ongoing game.
''I should apologize to the team later.'' Y/N considered, realizing she hadn't addressed her teammates properly after the incident.
''No, they know you're not the problem here. Besides, we all know you're not a fan of early showers.'' Keira teased.
She chuckled at her friend's joke, but couldn't shake off the feeling of dejection. Keira noticed her demeanor was shifting again.
''Don't worry about it, they know you didn't do anything wrong,'' Keira reassured her. ''Besides, half of them are probably still arguing with the referee about the whole situation.''
Y/N snorted at the mental image. ''True, they're a protective bunch.''
''Well, we've got a great, certain center forward to look up to,'' the Barcelona player winked, ''you're still our captain, Y/N. Red card or not.'' Keira added, a genuine smile on her face.
''Thanks, Kei,'' Y/N said, appreciating the support. She leaned back against the locker, trying to let go of the frustration that still lingered.
''You know, you should focus on the positives,'' Keira suggested, her tone thoughtful. ''We're winning 3-0, and I'm sure the girls have got an extra motivation now.''
''I guess you're right,'' Y/N sighed, ''I just wanna fucking play.''
''I know, but you can still analyze, see things you wouldn't notice on the pitch.''
''Always the optimist,'' the captain teased, a small smile breaking through. ''I'll try to channel my inner tactical genius from the sidelines.''
As they continued chatting, a sudden knock echoed through the changing room, drawing both Y/N and Keira's attention. The door swung open, and in walked another teammate, a familiar face with a sheepish expression.
''Are you fucking kidding me, Hempo?'' The striker exclaimed, though there was an amused grin present.
Lauren shrugged her shoulders, sitting down in her cubby. ''I figured I'd join the exclusive red card club with the captain.''
''Seems like it's the trend today.'' Keira added, joining in on the laughter.
''Y/N always tells me to just follow her lead, so…''
''Hempo, this isn't what I meant by that.''
The trio shared more laughs as they bantered through their early exits of the game. The tension of the match outside seemed to disappear as they focused on their camaraderie.

______________________
You dreaded the days when you weren't playing football.
It was the one thing you couldn't live without, your adoration for the sport was larger and more demeaning than anything else. The solidarity, solace, and peace you found in running up down the wing, the ball at your feet. The feeling of utter elation when the ball went into the goal, past a defender, through the goalkeeper's reach. The celebrations, the assists, and everything else in between.
You could talk forever about football.
Except on Media Days.
You hated the unknown of it. You had managed to excuse yourself beforehand from most of these shoots since you weren't among the best-known players of the club — save that for Keira, Gee, and Lucy. But on the rare occasion that you were chosen for the quick photoshoot or challenge with one or more of the girls, you remained relatively quiet, speaking when you must and laughing when you should. You had no trouble with any of the girls, it was just in front of the public's view, and you were squirmish.
You pulled yourself out of bed after hitting snooze thrice, hearing Alanna ramp on downstairs. You made sure to stay in bed for another ten minutes. You changed into your team's tracksuit and a random top, making your way downstairs, slouching into one of the stools by the kitchen counter.
"Oh, wow." Alanna chuckled, holding out a coffee towards you. "You look delighted. Excited for today, are we?"
You simply offered her a grimace, taking a large sip of your coffee, hoping the taste would clear your evident distaste for the day ahead.
Alanna was a social butterfly. She was used to feeding into the Media's hand whenever they came becking. Most of the City girls were the same, it was a very jovial team that trusted one another well enough to have fun in the security of their job.
All the girls had arrived by the time Alanna and you had trampled in, wearing matching blue kits. Hayley was laughing with Georgia in front of a couple of cameras, a ball at their feet as they struggled to keep the ball off the floor. Gee tried to kick at the Aussie's feet, by didn't catch the ball in time to get the point. Raso threw her hands up in triumph, the cameras panning to Gee rolling around on the floor.
On the other side of the indoor training field were Lucy and Keira, standing around a giant-sized game of Janga, talking to the PR Managers behind the camera as they posed questions to the two of them as they played. Alex, Lauren and Chloe were sitting by a desk, on their phones as they waited for their turn to be called up.
The gush of blood that rushed to your cheeks when Lauren smiled towards you sent Alex and Chloe into a fit of giggles. The duo were always around to tease the two of you with your beyond-obvious, mutual pining. You wouldn't call it embarrassing, but there were certainly times when one of you would go out of your way to gain the other’s attention.
When you first met, Lauren tried to give you a tour of the facilities, but she ended up getting both of you lost. She apologised over and over profusely, and she dreaded the awful, first impression she had left you with.
You and Alanna sat beside them, greeting them with conversation before falling into a satisfied silence. Your next game was the Manchester Derby against United. The team had been training non-stop this past week, today is the first day without strenuous drills and exercises. Nevertheless, it was still a day at work, and to be honest, you'd rather be sweating ten times over than talking to a camera.
The thought of doing a video alone daunted you as you watched Hayley and Gee from afar. On a regular day, Hayley would be your Media Partner; the two of you always did videos with one another. On the odd day that you didn't, it'd be Alanna. If not Alanna, it was with a group of you. Now that you thought about it, the two Aussie girls were the only ones you had done a video with one-on-one. The feeling of someone different was tormenting. As the five of you sat silent on your phones, you hoped and prayed all of you would be doing a video together.
While you kept to yourself for the most part, save for the Aussie girls, you would go out of your way to make sure Lauren was your partner in drills. You’d try your hardest when she was watching, and vice versa. The blonde would hit the ball as hard as she could into the back of the net, and you’d be that landed with the assist. In games, you had been quickly dubbed as a duo due to the chemistry you seemed to have in the game. Fans would swarm at any interaction you’d have with her.
But to their dismay — and apparently most of your teammates — you and Lauren had never been in a video together.
But, to your surprise, you spoke too soon.
"Alright, Ladies, are you ready?" One of the PR girls came up with an iPad, scrolling through whatever it was she was looking for, and glancing up. You noticed Lauren straightening up beside you, holding her arms over her chest, waiting for the woman to finish her sentence.
You found yourself catching sight of the slight furrow in the girl's eyebrows; the concern written all over her face. You knew she was worried, and you supposed you were too. "We've got Greenwood, Kelly, and Kennedy over there. You've got interviews."
You tried not to look too relieved at the news, hiding the smile in response to the girl's identical groans. No one liked Interviews. They were serious, solemn, and no fun whatsoever. It was always boring questions about your job as a Midfielder, or how you maintained a balanced life outside of football. It wasn't the fans' favourite video to watch at all, but it was more for the professional side of it than the Media. Everyone had to do it. You were just glad that today it wasn't you.
"Hempo and Y/l/n, we've got an auto-complete interview."
"That's not fair, those are so much better," Alanna whined at that, throwing her head back like a toddler. "Hempo, surely we swap."
Lauren pursed her lips together, cheeks going a bit red at all the eyes on her. Alex and Chloe waited for her response, a smirk aligned on each of their faces.
"Nah, leave her Lani." Alex sounded, prodding the blonde with her elbow.
Lauren's cheeks went a deeper red when Chloe laughed. "Hempo's been wanting to do this for ages."
"Shut up, Kelly." Lauren snapped in a mutter, turning away to march off towards the direction of the lone white background and chairs. You turned to see the two Brits giggling to themselves, dragging Alanna over to the back doors.
"Have fun, Y/n/n."
"Hope you're as excited as Hempo!"
You shrugged them off, sauntering over to the set-up. Lauren was already sitting on a stool, playing with the rings on her fingers, wearing a prominent scowl.
"Are you alright?" You asked, sitting on the spare chair, tensing when you accidentally knocked your knee with hers.
Her pale cheeks disappeared, replaced with the blush you saw from before. "Yes, they're just annoying. Very annoying."
"Having a laugh, I 'spose." You reasoned, though the blonde didn't come off as too convinced. "But you're right, they're silly."
The blonde simply hummed in response, the both of you listening to the man behind the camera.
"Okay, guys, this is really straightforward." He said, readjusting the camera as he spoke. "You just got to introduce yourselves before you start, then we'll give you a board full of questions and you've just got to answer them. All good?"
Everyone watched the two of you nod. No one could deny the definitive awkwardness between the two of you, and the obvious hesitance toward what you were about to do. It was safe to say neither of you was fit to talk on and on, especially under the scrutiny of viewers.
You didn't know the cameras were already recording, choosing to fiddle with your hands as you waited. You could tell by the definitive look on Hempo's face that she was just as reluctant as you were. The blonde glanced at you from the corner of her eye, shuffling in her chair before she muttered towards you.
"You have an eyelash."
You spun to face her. "What?"
Lauren's face reddened, her beady brown eyes widening at your sudden response.
Without thinking, she pulled her hand out from her pocket, reaching to pinch something off your face. She was gentle when pulling away, holding her finger up to reveal the eyelash she had picked. She watched as you blew it off, giggling meekly at the benevolent interaction.
"You ready?" One of the people asked behind the camera, making the two of you leave your intimate bubble. "When you're ready."
Lauren nodded towards you. "You can start."
You sighed, trying to hide the smile that crammed your lips. "Hello, my name is Y/N, and this is Lauren Hemp," You waited for the blonde to finish your sentence, but when you were met with silence, you took one look at her stupefaction and continued. "And today we're going to be doing a... what is it?"
Lauren lifted up one of the boards that balanced against the end of her chair. She picked it up, surveying it, reading out the bulk letters at the top. "An auto-complete interview."
"Right. That's what we're doing."
The two of you left the introduction at that, an empty silence vacating the set.
Thankfully, a voice sounded from behind the camera. "Who's starting?"
Lauren shrugged, filling the ungainly silence. "I can."
You both stared at the board in between you. "I think you peel them off." You spoke, motioning at the tape that covered half the sentences. Lauren took your advice, skinning the first sticker to reveal the question.
"Who is Lauren Hemp's team?" You read out, making both of you giggle. "Oo, that's a good question."
"I play for Manchester City." Lauren played with the tape in her hand as answered. "But I play for England in the National Team."
She peeled off the second one, waiting for you to read it. "Who is Lauren Hemp's favourite teammates?" You spoke, rubbing your head in deceitful confusion.
Lauren laughed, glimpsing at you with a beaming smile. "We haven't known each other for long."
"Yes, but I'm very charismatic." You shook your head, sighing. "But go on, who is it?"
"Well," She thought to herself for a second. "I'm close with all the girls but... I'd have to say Esme, of course. She's my best friend."
"No brainer, clearly." You made a point to roll your eyes, huffing about, but it was plain to see that you were only joking. "Alright, who is Lauren Hemp's... boyfriend?"
There was a bit of an awkward interlude, leaving everyone looking around the pitch. Lauren, however, fell into a cynical fit of laughter, with you following shortly after.
"No boyfriends for me."
You didn't know why, but your stomach recoiled at the thought of Lauren with someone. It was a great relief to hear that she wasn't. "None at all?" You couldn't help but ask.
Lauren was quick to reply. "No, no boys... or girls at all."
"Right." You replied, placing the board onto the floor, hoping no one was noticing the pink across your cheeks. "Who's next?"
The next board was displayed between the two of you like before, except this time, your name was typed across it. Lauren shuffled closer to you, pinning the board to her side. “Go on then.”
You peeled the first question off. “Who is Y/N Y/L/N’s favourite team?”
Lauren looked at you, laughing when you were silent. “Well, I'm not answering, you are.”
“Yeah, well, hold on, I'm thinking.” You scoffed, pretending to whack the girl playfully with your board. She swatted you away, grabbing the board from where it rested on your thigh and smiled.
“I'm gonna say the Matildas because why else,” You could hear the Blonde’s indistinguishable disapproval, clicking her tongue. You’d later find out when watching the clip that she rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest affectionately. “But yeah, my childhood club was Sydney FC, so I’ll stick with my roots.”
“But she plays for City,” Lauren added, both of you giggling at your ambiguity. You never liked these types of questions, especially when the media took them out of context. You love City with all your heart, but it was easy for people to twist things and make it out that you didn't mean what you said.
“But I play for City, yes, and I love it.” You repeated, proceeding in ripping off each of the stickers as the game went on.
Lauren was patient when it wasn’t her go, adding in her opinion and a subtle joke every so often, basking in your immediate reaction each time. You bounced off one another like wildfire, seemingly knowing what the other was going to say before it was said. You were intellectual in what you shared, favourite meals, celebrity crushes, words of advice — pretty much anything the questions asked. Without knowing, you and Lauren discovered more and more about each other without directly asking. Your relationship blossomed, even with the presence of the cameras, into something tangible, free, and warm.
When it got to the end, you were still holding the board, fiddling with its edges as Lauren wrapped up the last of her questions. Somehow, you felt a little upset that the video was coming to an end. You wanted these questions to keep on coming. You would spend hours listening to the girl talk about what she loved and who she was. But by the time the last question lingered, you feel into comfortable silence.
Ever so slowly, Lauren inched her hand closer to the board you were holding, brushing her pinky and ring finger across your thigh as she did so. You pretended to conceal your flustered state by smiling, giving her the board to chuck away.
You didn't know how you coped when you felt Lauren keep her hand on your thigh.
“Well, that's the end of the video,” She finished, looking towards the camera, then to you.
You smiled back at her. “We hope you enjoyed and if you what to see more—”
“Well there's no more videos of us.”
“But go check the channel anyway.”
“Bye!”

Loving her is red (Referee's Version) II Lauren Hemp x Reader
Tumblr media
mancity women masterlist I word count: 1718
After the draw against Chelsea most of the Manchester City teammates decided to go to their favourite bar and get a little drunk. Especially the two English players who got a red card in the game were on their best way to be a bit more than slightly drunk. The last one who joined them was Leila Ouahabi who got two yellow cards in their first WSL game this season in London, playing against Westham. Slightly worried she looked at the younger forward:” Hempito, how many shots did you already have?” Afterwards she waved at her other teammates with a bright smile on her face: Hola chicas!”
With a teasing smile on her lips Alex explained to the Spanish defender:“ Lauren’s trying to get to 81 because that’s the minute she got her red card.” “Don’t remind me of that, Al!”, the younger blonde whined. The Manchester City captain kept joking:“ I only have to get to 38 shots at least.” “You’re not serious, chicas! That’s loco!” “No shit, Leila. They’re obviously not.”, Chloe Kelly interjected giggling. Red faced Leila apologized: “Sorry, I don’t always get your British sense of humour.” “You’ll get used to it.”, Laura Coombs reassured her with a soft smile. Confidently Ellie Roebuck nodded, while hugging the brunette from behind: “Definitely.”
Meanwhile Alex handed her a couple of full glasses: “Here, those drinks are for you. For getting a red last week.” “Gracias.”, the dark-haired woman mumbled. A bright grin appeared on the blonde’s face: “De nada.”
“Drink!”, Lauren shouted into the Spanish defender’s ear.  A loud laugh escaped her mouth before starting to taste her first drink of the night:“Okay, alright.” “Good!”, the younger forward replied, clearly satisfied.  Her reaction made Leila laugh even harder:” She gets bossy when she drinks.”  “Drink your drink.”
“Hempo. Leave her alone.”, Alex rolled her eyes as she cut through that conversation. “Fine.”, Lauren sighed. To the brunette their skipper said:” Don’t worry, it’s just the red card.” “Is it? Where’s Hempitos girlfriend?”, Leila asked empathetically, instinctively feeling that Lauren could need her love right now after such an awful match with a terrible result for her.
With a sympathetic smile Chloe answered: “Working.” “Still?”, Leila glanced surprised at her teammates. “She called after the game to talk to Hempo and we said we’d go out for a few drinks first.”, Laura added. “Oh okay.” Smiling the older woman tried to put her at ease: “She’ll pick her up later.”
Alex addressed the round of football players excitedly; “More drinks anyone?“ “Yes!“, Lauren nodded violently. “And apart from Hempo?“, the blonde defender laughed. “Me too.“, Filippa Angeldal joined in, while Ellie yelled; “Esme and me too!“ Esme Morgan sat next to their goalkeeper with reddened cheeks; “Exactly.“
While Alex ordered them more drinks, Chloes face darkened; “Guys?“ Khiara Keating, the youngest the group, looked up from her phone; “Huh?“ “Where’s Hempo? Her seat’s empty. Did anyone see her leave?“, the striker asked with her eyebrows drawn together in confusion. Esme turned around in her seat, looking for her team mate; “Lauren? Where are you?“ Leila did the same on the other side of their table, even getting up from her chair; “Hempito?“
As a slight nervousness spread among the football players, Lauren jumped out from under the table with a loud; “Boo!“ The mischievous smile on her face let everyone know that she was incredibly proud of herself. “Don’t scare us like that!“, Alanna Kennedy scolded her, but still shook her head in amusement. Lauren could barely contain her laughter; “You should have seen your faces!“ Annoyed, Chloe rolled her eyes; “That was not funny!“ “Yes, it was.“, Lauren kept giggling.
Several drinks later, Ellie took one look at Lauren slumped down in her chair and announced; “I think it’s time for Hempo to leave.“ Outraged she immediately sat up; “What do you mean?!“ “I’m calling her girlfriend.“, Alex decided. With glassy eyes, Lauren pleaded; “Oh come on. Don’t be boring.“ But she was slurring her words enough to make even Alex who had her fair share of drinks shake her head.
You were only mildly surprise when your girlfriends teammate called. You knew you were supposed to pick Lauren up but you were expecting her to call you herself. “Alex?“ “Hey. I think your girlfriend had enough. Will you come pick her up?“, she explained more loudly than necessary. “Yes, of course. I’ll be there soon.“, you nodded and ended the call. You just came home from work, so you were still in your shoes and jacket. All that was left to do was grab the keys and walk over to the bar.
Luckily the way was not that far, and it did not take you too long to find the celebrating football players in the room. “Hi girls. Come on time to leave Lauren.”, you chirmed. Happy about the fact that the women did not seem to be that sad about the loss anymore. Determined your girlfriend shook her head:”Nooo.” “Do you need help with her?”, Ellie offered in a friendly tone. Politely you replied: “No, I think we’ll be fine.” “Wait.”, Laura interjected, a warm smile on her lips. “What?”, you looked confused at her. Slightly out of breath Chloe explained: “Here. Coombsy made me run across the street to the chip shop to bring you some food you can eat at home.” “Oh, thank you, Chloe. This is really thoughtful of you.”, you told them moved by their gesture.
Smirking Leila observed: “She will need it.” “I think so too.”, you admitted while making sure that Lauren was ready to go and did not left any of her belongings at the bar. Quickly Laura hugged you and her younger teammate who got red carded earlier: “Good night, you two.” “Night, everyone.”, you waved at them.
Amused Chloe shouted: “Good luck getting her home.” “Thanks, I’ll need it.”, you answered laughing before turning to your girlfriend, let’s go love.” “Ugh fine.”, Lauren groaned, obviously not too excited about being one of the earliest to leave the team party.
After some fresh air on the way to your appartement you mumbled relieved:” We’re home.” “Finally. Can’t wait for my bed.”, the blonde yawned. Suddenly she felt the tension which the forward felt all day escaping her body as she was taking the first step into your appartement.
Her physical reaction did not go unnoticed by you:” That game has been a lot, right? Sorry, I couldn’t be there because of work.” “I know that. Actually.. I’m glad you didn’t come. The game was just overall shit.”, Lauren confessed. Still, you felt a little guilty for not coming to the football match: “I could’ve been there for you.”
As you two had been childhood sweethearts long before you had a name for what you two felt for eachother you tried to come to every home game your girlfriend had, and it did not matter the weather. But as you two became young adults sometimes work forbid the tradition you held dearly.
“No, you couldn’t. I was on the pitch.”, the forward reminded you softly.  A sad smile appeared on your face as you kissed her forehead: “You’re right but I can be here for you now.” “It’s cool. Really. Proud of the girls for taking the point home. We could’ve lost 0:5.”, the blond muttered.
“Your team is really incredible.“, you nodded, thinking not only of the game but also of the familiar atmosphere at the bar a few minutes ago. Lauren let herself fall back onto your bed while kicking her shoes off; “They are. I love them.“ “I can tell.“, you replied slightly moved and changed into your Pyjamas.
Your girlfriend watched you from the bed; “Do you know what else I like?“ “Our bed?“, you laughed. Lauren smiled back at you; “That too!“ “And you?“, you prompted her to go on. „Bananas!“, she finally revealed happily. Surprised you paused and raised an eyebrow; “Are you hungry? I could get you one.“ “No, we still have the food the others gave us.“, she reminded you and then seemed to remember what she actually wanted to say; “Did you know that there are over 1.000 types of bananas?“ “Uhm, no. But that’s really interesting.“, you answered politely as you slipped into bed with her.
Excitedly, Lauren nodded; “I know, right?“ “What made you think of bananas?“ Your girlfriend snorted; “They’re yellow. Like the cards I’ve gotten. Doesn’t make sense that yellow plus yellow makes red.“ “No, it does not.“, you agreed, feeling sad for her because that topic was still so present in her mind. “I mean why red? That’s so aggressive.“, she kept going. Carefully, you put a hand in her hair; “You can’t stop thinking about it, huh?“ “No.“, she admitted. Her eyes were wet again and her lower lip trembled.
“Come here.“ You pulled her towards you, gently stroking her face. Laurens tears never came. She just swallowed hard; “It’s stupid, I know. We all know the ref made a lot of bad decisions today. But it still feels like I did something bad.“ “You did nothing wrong, love.“, you assured her. “I still won’t get to play the next few games.“ “I know…“ Sighing, Lauren sat up again; “I want some chips. You too?“ “Yes.“ She got out of bed to go into the kitchen where you put down the food. With the paper bag in hand, your girlfriend wanted to know: “Can we eat in bed?“ “Sure.“ Lauren cozied back up in bed with you and you two ate in silence.
The greasy food seemed to help with the alcohol. “Do you feel better?“, you wanted to know from your girlfriend. Shoving more chips into her mouth, she nodded; “Yes. They’re so good.“ “Agreed.“ “I guess I just needed some food.“, Lauren shrugged, grinning. You quietly laughed; “Seems like it.“ “So good.“, your girlfriend mumbled before laying down and closing your eyes.
You gently cleared the bed from the trash, pulled the blanket over Laurens body and kissed her forehead; “Sleep well, Lauren.“ It was quiet for a while when the football player suddenly said; “Hey?“ “Hm?“, you answered, now sleepy yourself. “Love you.“ A smile appeared on your face because your girlfriend finally sounded content; “I love you too.“
Sorry this is not our best work but we hope you still enjoy this one. 🩵

Lauren was running an hour later than usual, they had quite an exhausting game yesterday, so on her day off, she usually slept in until half eight ad was running in the park by nine.
Today it was ten am, and as Lauren jogged through, music pushing her through, she paused in shock. The most beautiful girl she had ever seen was lying on a picnic blanket, basking in the warm summer sun.
Rings littered her thin fingers, as well as several necklaces which hung from her neck and over the notebook she was writing in. Jeans and a sweet flowery top covered her, the mom jeans hanging on her body.
She had wired headphones in, which Lauren found odd, but the girl didn't seem to notice her as she stared, too focused on writing whatever she was writing.
Lauren briefly though about going over, but then she realised she was messy haired, red faced, and sweaty and thought better of it. So instead, she jogged on.
But suddenly Lauren found herself changing her routine, and every day off she had, which changed, she went to the park at 10am, and every time, other than Thursdays and Tuesdays, the girl was there, buried in pages.

After Lauren's complete fail, the next day off they had, Chloe, Alex and Jill came with her to the park, the four in relaxed outfits and hoping to sit and relax together, as well as help Lauren with this painful crush.
As they got there, the mysterious girl was already there, writing out pages and pages once again, and Jill let out a light whistle, nodding at Lauren in agreement.
The girl was hot. Chloe and Alex both sat down near her, dragging the other two with them, y/n looked up and she waved nicely at Lauren, who waved back with a smile.
Chloe sighed in relief that Lauren had at least reacted normal to that, and as y/n went back to studying the four friends started a conversation as they relaxed in the sun.
Eventually the group got up to play some football, y/n having not moved since the turned up, Chloe had hit the ball slightly hard and Lauren blanched as she ran.
The quick blonde, only manged just to get to y/n, pulling the girl who had stood up to stretch out of the way of the incoming ball the football instead hitting one of her notebooks and sending loose pages everywhere.
"Oh my god." y/n gasps.
"Sorry!" Chloe calls. "I am so sorry!" She adds again, but y/n waves a hand kindly.
"Luckily I have my guardian angel!" y/n calls, smiling at Lauren gratefully, who blushes at the sweet nickname. "Thank you." y/n adds as she bends down to pick at her papers.
Lauren kicks the ball across to Chloe who restarts their game of up, with the other two, but Lauren stays by y/n leaning down to help pick up her scattered papers.
"Oh you don't have to." y/n starts but Lauren smiles and shakes her head.
"I want to." Lauren promises as she hands the girl her papers. "Do you maybe want to get coffee sometime?" Lauren suddenly asks, as if she had been forced to say it.
Truth is, if she hadn't of said it then, she never would have. y/n looked up at her and furrowed her brows slightly, as if trying to figure something out.
"Like a date?" She asks and Lauren nods.
"Unless you don't want to." Lauren adds.
"No I want to, I was just trying to figure out why Lauren Hemp is asking me out." y/n admits and Lauren winces.
"You know who I am?" She asks and y/n shrugs.
"My best friend is a city fan, though I am more partial to Arsenal I must admit." y/n teases and Lauren pretends as she's been shot dragging and heart-breakingly beautiful laugh from the student.
"How could you?" Lauren asks jokingly and y/n laughs again.
"Quite easily, I suppose I will have to make it up to you." y/n hums. "How about a date tomorrow, after coffee today?" She asks and Lauren grins.
"Uh, yeah, yeah that would be great." Lauren smiles, a bright gleam in her eyes.
"Cool, well can I get your number then?" y/n asks and Lauren jerks forward, quickly tapping her number in and sending a message to herself.
"Do you want to go get coffee now?" Lauren asks, y/n sighing in relief and nodding.
"Please, I look at anything else about civil justice proceedings, my brain is going to self-destruct." y/n says and Lauren chuckles and looks up to tell her friends.
However, she finds no one, the three having dispersed with shared grins as Lauren and y/n started talking, finding no reason to interrupt they left.
y/n packed away her notes, throwing her highlighters into her pencil case and standing up, she smoothed out her summer dress, the article stopping just below her knees.
"You're so pretty." Lauren said without thinking, and even though she had just said it aloud, it sounded so calm and meant.
"Charmer." y/n blushed, smiling softly as she held out her hand. "Come on." She smiles and Lauren takes her hand.

❄️ WOSO FICMAS: Dec. 20 - Lauren Hemp ❄️
Lauren Hemp x Reader (Man City) | WC: 982
Dec. 20 prompt - secret santa
-> woso ficmas masterlist can be found here!
You were thrilled when Ellie suggested a Secret Santa gift exchange between the team after practice. You loved giving gifts to people and you loved your teammates so it seemed like a win-win. Once everyone had finished showering and gotten dressed, you all scribbled your names on a small piece of paper before tossing in someone’s beanie.
You watched as the players before you drew names, trying to gauge who they got based on their reactions but you were unsuccessful. When it was your turn, you held your breath as you reached into the hat, grabbing the first piece of paper you touched.
Holding the paper away from any prying eyes, you opened the neatly folded paper to see a name you were partially hoping to not get. You tried to keep your reaction neutral as you stared at the printed “Lauren.” it’s not that the blonde was hard to shop for, but the crush you had on her made you nervous just thinking about pulling her name.
You avoided eye contact with the blonde, eyes falling to the floor after some teammates picked their person. You missed Lauren’s eyes dart to you after she picked a name, having also picked you.
You were partially listening to the rules of the gift exchange being announced, knowing someone would forget and need to be told over text later. The team started slowly filtering out of the locker room, ready to head home after a long training session. Your mind was racing with thoughts of the forward you were crushing on, hoping this gift exchange could be your opening to telling her how you felt.
You were proven right about someone needing a reminder of the rules later that night when Alanna asked for a reminder in the team group chat. You knew the rule of “keeping it a secret” but you were planning on ignoring that specific rule in favor of writing a note inside a Christmas card that would be attached to the wrapped gift you were planning on giving Lauren.
Lauren’s love of LEGO sets was not a secret so shopping for the blonde was easy. You knew which ones she already had, having seen most of them set up around her apartment whenever you hung out there. You decided on getting her the flower bouquet LEGO set, thinking it could also double as cute home decor.
Two weeks later you were sitting in the living room at Steph’s house, your teammates slowly starting to arrive. You nervously kept glancing at the wrapped LEGO set under the Christmas tree, hoping that Lauren would like it.
Once everyone arrived and had something to eat, Steph gathered everyone in the living room before she started passing out gifts. The captain made sure everyone had their gifts before sitting down and giving the go-ahead for everyone to open their presents.
You heard some of your teammates laugh at the things they received, jokingly saying “it’s what i’ve always wanted.” You laughed alongside them as your fingers worked to ride the wrapping paper from the box sitting on your lap. The box was a little heavy which made you nervous about what could be in there.
When you opened the box, your eyes were wide at the sight of a special edition of one of your favorite books. You had only mentioned the book maybe once or twice around the team so you were shocked that someone had remembered. When you looked up to see if anyone, in particular, was watching your reaction to the gift, the only pair of eyes that met yours was Lauren’s.
You knew then that the blonde was your secret santa even though neither of you spoke. A light blush coated both of your cheeks as you mouthed a quiet “thank you” to the blonde. She nodded her head towards the LEGO set next to her as a way of showing she knew it was from you.
With a quick look around the room and seeing none of your teammates were paying attention to you, you pointed to the card that was lying on top of the LEGO box that read “read later” across the envelope. Lauren stood up, grabbing the envelope as she did so, and made her way into the kitchen knowing no one was going to notice she left.
You had hoped that this wasn’t going to make things awkward between the two of you but you needed to let the forward know how you felt about her. You gave her a few minutes before making your way into the kitchen to join her.
You found her propped against the counter, eyes scanning the card multiple times.
“I know it's supposed to be a secret and everything, but I wanted you to know it was from me,” you said quietly, alerting the blonde of your presence.
Lauren’s head lifted from the card, finding you standing nervously by the entryway. She sat the card on the counter making her way toward you and hesitated before pulling you into a tight hug. Your arms wrapped around the blonde, hoping that this wasn’t going to end with her telling you she didn’t feel the same.
When you pulled away, neither of you broke eye contact. Lauren bit her bottom lip, seemingly deep in thought before her eyes darted towards where all your teammates were.
“Can I kiss you?” the forward rushed out, needing to show you how she felt.
You quickly nodded and when Lauren’s lips met yours in a kiss, you knew it was a good thing to break the rules. The kiss was short but conveyed both of your feelings that you kept secret for a while. It was a start and since you’d both be going home soon, it was more of a promise that something special would be waiting when you got back after the break.

Crazy for You
AN: this is the first time I’ve written in first person, not sure if I like it but 🤷🏻‍♀️
Part of the Beth McCarthy mini song series
Crazy for You
I look for you in the crowd, you are
The only thing that I want to see
I think I’ve figured it out, I know
What it is that you do to me
Tying up my shoelaces in the changing room I couldn’t help but overhear Georgia say to the others that her sister was coming to our game tomorrow, my ears immediately perked up, listening intently to the conversation. “Which sister?” I asked hoping she meant her older sibling that I’ve been crushing hard on since Year 7. (Y/n) was two years above us and I remember always trying to make excuses to go around Georgia’s house after school, she’d often ask why we couldn’t go to mine which meant quickly making up excuses – mum’s friends are coming round, the goldfish is sick, I’ve lost my keys ect. I doubt she bought my reasons and knew exactly why I wanted to go to hers in the slight chance that (y/n) was home. Being nearly two years older than us she’d often be out with her friends and going to parties at the weekends. She taught us how to apply make up when we were younger and told us all about the boys she was seeing, Georgia would often talk about the boys she liked too and I had to pretend to understand. I didn’t find boys attractive, I never have and couldn’t understand why anyone in their right mind would like them – they were smelly and gross and swore all the time. At least the one’s in our class anyway! As we got older, my crush on (y/n) became much more noticeable, I’d become even more ditzy than anyone thought possible which only meant one thing – I was in love!
“The one you fancy” Georgia replied teasingly but I was so far off in my daydream that I barely registered that she’d responded to my question. “It’s been 13 years now Hempo, when are you gonna get over her? You know she’s straight!” she said throwing a bib at me, we were getting ready for our last training session before the Finalissima at Wembley tomorrow. “And you know I have a girlfriend so don’t be speaking about this in front of her.. that goes for all of ya!” making sure I reiterated that for the louder members of the team, the ones that don’t think before they talk (they know who they are!) Everyone groaned in acknowledgment of my request, my England and Man City teammates knew all about my secret crush, they tease me about it but it didn’t go any further than that. In my eyes, there’s no harm in fancying someone who’s unattainable – Georgia’s is David Beckham, Millie’s is Kevin Hart, mine is my best friend’s sister! There’s no harm in having a crush that will never amount to anything, is there?
“I don’t know what you see in her, I’m much fitter!” Georgia continued handing out bibs to the squad as she made her way towards me, poking my cheeks until she got a reaction. “Soz babes, I’m just not that into you!” standing up and patting her head before jogging out to the pitch. Since Stanners moved to Bayern, (y/n) had stopped coming to watch Man City which was weird at first because she would always come to our games. I’ve never been on a team that didn’t include George, even in school (y/n) would come and watch us play after classes finished. She’d even bring her older friends too and if the most popular girl in school watched football, most of the other students did too. We regularly had a large crowd watching us but when (y/n) left for university, that all changed. That was until we both signed for England U15s at the same time. No matter where in the world we played you could guarantee Georgia’s entire family would be there. They cheered for me like they did her as mine struggled to get to them all, my mum hates flying so would never come to the out of country games which meant Georgia’s family celebrated me as much as they did her, they made sure I never felt alone.
Georgia had known since age 16 that I had a massive crush on her sibling. It happened during a game of truth or dare on one of our weekly sleepovers, I stupidly chose ‘truth’ and had to admit who I secretly liked.. that was also the day I came out for the first time. I made her pinky promise she wouldn’t tell her sister or anyone else and to this day, she’s kept it. With adulthood I came to accept that we would never happen and opened myself up to love with another person, I now have a beautiful girlfriend of 3 years but the news of (y/n) coming to our game tomorrow still made my heart sing. I know there’s no way in hell that she’d ever feel the same way I do but that doesn’t stop me daydreaming every now and then about her.
———————————————————
Walking out for warm ups I pretended to look for my family in the crowd but I was actually looking for Georgia’s. Glancing around the stadium from the north stand to the south I finally spotted them, just as George launched herself at me making my arms fly backwards to grab her into a piggy back. “Your parents and girlfriend are in the west stand Hempo” she teased making me stutter in embarrassment at getting caught and innocently turning to where Stanners was pointing, waving up at my family she jumped down from my back and waved too. She then waved to hers which I joined in with, noticing (y/n) jump and wave to be spotted be us.. or just her sister, I’m not sure. “Try be a bit more subtle next time or you’re gonna get found out” she laughed, pushing me in the direction of our first warm up.
The game was tough and after a late equaliser it came down to penalties. I was subbed in the 88th minute and watched from the sidelines as Georgia opened up the shots. My eyes couldn’t drag themselves from her family in the stand opposite to me celebrating my best friend. Tooney missed her penalty but Rachel, Alex and Chloe didn’t which gave us the win. We poured onto the pitch to celebrate with the team, launching myself onto Georgia’s back like she did to me earlier. She carried me around the pitch for the lap of honour and after we went to see our families. George came to see my parents and girlfriend with me, she’s like a daughter to my mum and the feeling felt a lot like the Euros final the year earlier. As they got the stage ready and engraved the trophy with the winning team we had just enough time to see Georgia’s family too, “I’m assuming you’re coming to see mine?” she said with a knowing smirk on her face, linking her arm through mine as we skipped down the steps. My expression said ‘well DUH’ to her question as we ran over to the other stand, confetti was still flying around in the air as we ran hand in hand across the pitch. Squeals came from the fans we ran past to get to her family who were screaming just as loud for us, enveloping us both into a warm hug in congratulations. “You done so well!” (Y/n) screamed in Georgia’s face, lifting her up with her tight squeeze of a hug before turning to me, “and you!” shaking my shoulders then wrapping her arms around my neck, planting a huge kiss on my cheek.
It felt like my eyes bulged out of my head. I was speechless! Georgia was staring right at me with a smirk on her face knowing exactly how this interaction was making me feel. If anyone took a photo of me right now it would be obvious about what I was feeling with the dumbfounded expression on my face. I was undeniably in shock! “We gotta go!” George blurted out suddenly, grabbing my arm and dragging me away from the situation before I said something stupid. And lets be honest, I would have said or done something incredibly stupid.. it’s me!
“Snap out of it El, act cool!” George encouraged, “we just won!” shaking my shoulders trying to change my emotion to anything other than smitten before collecting the trophy. It’s like the real prize didn’t even matter, I’d got what I had wanted for years.. something that felt even better than winning a trophy.

Pairing: Chloe Kelly x Léon!Reader; Mapi Léon x sister!reader; Ella Toone + Georgia Stanway x Female!Reader (besties)
Summary:
Type: Fluff
Warning: nothing
words count: 3334
--------
London - Manchester. Manchester - London. Whatever the direction, it became a usual trip for you during those recent years. Well, dating a Citizen player while you played for Chelsea, and let's not talk about the fact that you played for Spain and her England, meant you had to make compromises sometimes.
You came to the WSL in the 2017-18 season; you played for Everton after some good seasons at Athletico Madrid. There you met Chloe; everything was new for you, so she helped you install yourself in the country. She showed you a lot of places, and you met a lot of people who'd become part of the England squad. At the end of the 19/20 season, you moved from Liverpool to London, where you signed a contract with the Blues.
At Chelsea, everything was good except when you had to play in the Champions League finals against your sister and her team. Unfortunately for the London club, you got injured in the semifinal. Without  one of their best defenders in their squad, the Blues lost against FC Barcelona. Except that the other worst moments was when you played against your girlfriend; you know how good she is, and it's really difficult for anyone to defend against her (except McCabe, but she's not really defending).
After three years in the capital's club, you received some interesting offers from different clubs: Bayern, Wolfsburg, Real Madrid, and even Lyon, but you decided to join another club in blue, well, sky blue. But your girlfriend is totally unaware of that, like almost everyone else, because you wanted to surprise her.
~~~
Today was a particular day; the Lionesses should take a flight to Australia the next day, and your girlfriend decided to spend her free time with you. It was still early in the morning when your phone started buzzing next to you. It was disturbing, but you didn't want to wake up yet until the woman next to you groaned.
"Y/n, I swear if you don't tell whoever texted you to shut up, I'll throw your phone through the window." Chloe said with her head pressed harder against the pillow.
"Calmate hermosa; I'll check that." You said before grabbing your phone to see a lot of messages from more people than you expected.
Maps[yesterday]:
¿Vienes a casa para vacaciones?(Are you coming home for vacation?)
Leila[8:30 a.m]:
The girls know
Ella[8:40 a.m]:
Please tell me you don't join the wrong side
Lauren[8:42 a.m]:
are you really coming?
I need to tell Chloe
Niamh[8:43 a.m]:
Sam and Guro are still pouting
Mama P[8:44 a.m]:
Jessie is still crying you need to do something
Mama M[8:44 a.m]:
Don't forget your sunscreen
Mama P[now]:
Magda reminds you to not forget your sunscreen
"Who are they?" The blonde was a little more awake than earlier.
"Just Magda and Pernille...and Niamh and Mapi." You replied before quickly texting, 'don't tell anything to Chloe; it's not official' to Ella and Lauren.
"Okay, now come back to sleep with me." The winger said, but you reluctantly declined the proposition.
"I really want that, but the girls are coming for lunch and I need to cook something," the Mancunian groaned and grabbed her phone.
"It's only 9 a.m."
"Yeah, I know, but I also have to call my sister and make our breakfast." You informed her and kissed her forehead before leaving the bedroom.
Chloe wanted to go back to sleep, but she couldn't without you, so she just checked her notifications and saw a text from Lauren.
Lauren[8:43 a.m]:
I have a big surprise for you
Chloe [8:57 a.m]:
???
Lauren[now]:
I heard someone say that we will pair together for the world cup
Chloe[now]:
Like always🙄
Your girlfriend knew there was something that her friend didn't tell her, but she didn't want to push her. When the winger finally came to the kitchen, she saw you cook with one of her Manchester City training kits. She approached you carefully, wrapped her arms around your waist, and landed her head on your shoulder.
"How can I help you?" She asked you.
"Just sit and look pretty." You commanded.
A few minutes later, Chole was sitting on the kitchen counter scrolling through TikTok while you were cooking. Everything was good until she found a tik-tok talking about the departure of Ona. It was not surprising at first, but the video caught her attention when the person behind it started to speculate about your possible departure to join Barcelona too. Of course, some fans had theories about you coming back to Spain after a lot of years in England.
You were too focused to not burn your breakfast and texted your sister that you hadn't noticed your girlfriend looking at you suspiciously; honestly, some theories started to gain her attention. She knew that last season you denied the offer of a Spanish team that wanted you, justifying it by the fact that you wanted to finish your contract with the Blues, but now what is keeping you in England?
"Babe? What do you think about going to Barcelona?" The winger asked you.
You took a moment to think about it. "Uh, I don't know; we need to schedule for the next season and wait until you come back from Australia, hopefully with a trophy, and I also need to ask Maps if it's good for her to let us stay in her apartment." You explained, totally unaware of the true meaning behind this simple question.
"Oh, okay." There was a little silence; she continued to scroll on her phone until you finished your episode. You turned your eyes off your phone and made your way to the blonde, leaving some kisses on her face, making the English girl giggle. "What are you doing?"
"I'm hungry." You replied.
"But you're cooking."
"Yes, and I finished it, so let's do something together." You finished your sentence with a trail of kisses from her lips to her neck.
"Babe, the girls are coming in 2 hours." She stopped you.
"I know."
"And you just cook the breakfast."
"I think I can do something in a little more than an hour, so let's have a little time for us." You said lifting her from the chair made her yelp and almost let her phone slip.
"Twenty minutes." She whispered firmly, just a few centimeters away from your lips.
"Twenty minutes." You agreed before leading her to the bedroom.
~~~
Twenty minutes later, you were both in the bathroom taking a bath, and she was sitting in front of you with her back against your chest. You were playing with her hands and the water, trying to steal some kisses between her giggles.
"Did you finish packing your things?" You asked, and she hummed to reply. "Are you sure? Did you pack some tissues? Alana said it was really cold there during this period of the year."
"Yes, don't worry. I checked everything twice." She replied, you wanted to say something, but she cut you off. "No, I'll not unpack everything to let you check." She prevented you.
You sighed and landed your head on her shoulder. "I'm just worried, mi corazon. The last time you flew somewhere without me, you almost forgot your passport." You reminded her, and she chuckled.
"Yes, but don't worry, Lauren will not let it happen again." She joked, and you nodded.
"Okay, I love being here with you, but we will have a lot of hungry girls in one hour, and I need to start to cook." You said getting out of the bathtub.
"How can I help you now?" Chloe asked again.
You thought a moment before replying, "Nothing; just stay there and look good for me." You said and gave her a little on her forehead.
"There is someone who's really looking good right now." She replied with a flirtatious tone.
"Pervert!" You shot just before taking your towel and leaving the room.
~~~
An hour later, you were finishing a paella request by almost every girl while you were making conversation with the citizen until someone rang at the door. When Chloe opened the door, she was met with none less than ten girls chatting loudly. You smiled when you heard the noises coming from the living room. You didn't have time to go to the kitchen before hearing two voices enter the room.
"Y/n!!" Georgia called you very excited.
"Why do you always look surprised to see me, knowing I almost live here?" You asked and accepted her hug.
"I missed you." The midfielder said.
"Me too, pequeña soldadera (little warrior)."
"You still use this Spanish nickname?"
"Always." You said with a cocky smile before walking to the other girl in the room. "Hola, I didn't think you would come." You said to Leila, your national teammates, well, not anymore because you were one of 'The 15'.
"Where do you want me to be? I mean, I'll never say no to free food and cooking by the best Spanish cooker in Manchester, no, in England." The older defender said.
"You say it because Ona came back to Barça?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Maybe." She replied, almost questioning herself; you gasped and playfuly slapped her arm.
"Don't worry, Y/n, you're still my favourite Spanish cooker." Georgia said while the three of you were joining the others in the kitchen.
"You say that because you don't have any Spanish teammates in Munich." You replied, and the girls laughed.
In the living room, there were more guests than you planned. There were Ella Toone, Alessia Russo, Maya Le Tissier, Katie Zelem, and Mary Earps, your Manchester's players friends—well, it was no longer valid for Alessia—and there were Chloe's City's teammates: Alana Kennedy, Lauren Hemp, Alex Greenwood, Laila Ouahabi, Laia Alexandri, and Esme Morgan. And some pluses: Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze were here because they were ex-city players; McKenzie Arnold, who was brought by Alana (you always liked her, so why not); and of course your best friend Georgia Stanway, who brought Leah Williamson to complete their famous trio.
"Now that I see it from here, it's a lot of people." Laila said.
"You even invited some people who don't play for Manchester." Georgia commented, referring to McKenzie and Leah. You and the defender just looked at her before exchanging a confused look.
"A veces me pregunto cómo se hicieron mejores amigos. (Sometimes I'm really wondering how you two became best friends.)" The older woman said to you.
"¿Por qué? técnicamente no es falso. (Why? Technically, it's not false.)" You replied before a body crashed against you. "Wow, calmate Ella." You said laughing a little.
"Please tell me you'll choose the right Manchester." The offensive midfielder whispered to you with a big pout.
"Uh, yes? I mean, yeah, but why do you ask?"
"The girls find an article saying that since Ona made her comeback in Barcelona, you could leave too." Alessia informed you. In the corner of the couch, almost no one noticed, but Chloe tensed when she heard what Alessia said—almost no one because Laia wrapped an arm around the winger to ease her mind.
"Okay, I don't know what you're talking about, but let's eat because it'll get cold." You avoided the question, and that didn't go unnoticed by three players.
After eating in a very good atmosphere, you spent all your time cuddling Chloe and making jokes with Leah and Laila about the fact that you weren't selected for the World Cup. Some girls decided to watch a movie, and you happily agreed. You were in the kitchen making some snacks when you heard someone clearing their throats. Before hearing some footsteps, you turned around to see Ella, Georgia, and Laila exchanging looks.
"Are you alright, girls?" You asked a little confused.
"Y/n, can we talk?" The Red Devil asked a little shyly.
"Yeah, I just need to give this to the girls." You said referring to the plate of snacks in front of you.
"Yes, of course, we will wait." Georgia said you noticed something strange in her tone, but you didn't question it. Only two minutes later, you were back in the room with the three women.
You sat beside Ella in front of Georgia and Laila. "Is there something wrong?" You asked when none of them spoke.
"Y/n, we've known each other for a long time now, don't we?" Ella asked, and you nodded.
You clearly remember the day you met her for the first time and the time you became friends. It was during the season 17/18, you just left Athletico Madrid to try your luck in England at Everton. There you met Chloe for the first time, and it instantly clicked; it was love at first sight. For Tooney, you met her the first time you played against her, when she was playing for the other team in Manchester.
For Georgia, you met her in the street of the city before you saw her again on the pitch, but she was very kind with you, and for someone who had been in a new country for only a few months, you were very grateful. She helped you progress in English, and she even gave you some advice with your girlfriend when she was just your crush.
And for Laila, you met her for the first time while you visited your sister in Spain while she was playing for Barça. When you made your first step on the senior national team, she helped you (with your sister, Jeni, and Alexia, of course) with everything and every question, and you both play as defenders, so you trained together. When she came to Manchester, Mapi made a promise to take care of you, even if it was you who helped her the most when she was still installing.
"Yeah?" You replied, a little unsure of where it would end.
"So can you be honest with us? So about earlier, you know we will not be angry if you leave." Laila reassured you.
"Yeah, I know it's just that everything is complicated, and I don't want to leave Chloe." You said. Talking about her, your girlfriend was about to make her way in the kitchen, but she stopped when she heard her name. She knew it was very bad, but she couldn't help herself.
"Is it Barcelona?" Georgia asked, and you nodded, making the midfielder grumble, "Why do they want you when they already signed Ona?"
"Because we didn't play at the same position." You said. "But they're not the only ones who made offers. There are also Wolfsburg and Paris Saint Germain."
"Why don't you come with me to Bayern?"
"No, if you need to leave, you should come to Manchester City."
"Or you can join me here."
"Okay girls, let's forget about it; they gave me until the end of the month to accept it or not. Now, let's just watch a movie and chill until you have to leave." You stopped their debate. Before you could see her, Chloe quickly came back on the couch beside Lauren, and you sat on her other side.
The rest of the day, your girlfriend seemed preoccupied by something, but she refused to tell you what.
The lunch was very cool; everybody was happy, and the girls didn't split anything. The next day, the girls had to leave, and you had a flight to Spain that you couldn't miss.
~~~
Your holidays were pretty good; you were just enjoying life with your sister, but somewhere you were missing your girlfriend. Because the World Cup was in New Zealand and Australia, you weren't awake at the same time.
On the other side of the world, Chloe was missing you, really missing you. She could handle every time you spent your holiday in Spain with your family, but now it wasn't a holiday for her, and you should be here with your national team. Unfortunately for her, every time she thought she couldn't miss you more, Lauren James, and Niamh were talking about you.
For you, after a week and a half in Spain, you had to fly back to England before going to Australia. You arrived in Australia between two matches of the Lionesses and, more importantly, just two days before the public training.
Knowing you would come to their training session, Lauren Hemp and Ella couldn't stop teasing Chloe about how much she missed you.
At the training, everyone was more focused knowing that it was public. You successfully found a place not so far from the ground as to not be immediately recognized. Chloe nailed it pretty well; she had only one thing on her mind: finish this and quickly come back to the hotel to call you.
When training finished, the citizen stayed behind to talk with fans and take pictures. She was not alone because Georgia and Ella were following her and, most importantly, looking for you. Stopping in front of a group of girls, the three started to do as usual until something caught Georgia's attention.
"Hey, look at that," she said to Ella, holding a Manchester City shirt someone gave her.
"It's the new one." Ella commented, and the Red Devil turned the shirt to find a big surprise. The two midfielders exchanged a confused look before looking at the crowd and finally seeing you.
"No way," Georgia whispered.
"It's a betrayal." You saw Ella mouthing Being too focused on you, they didn't see their teammates coming until the shirt slipped out of the Bayern player's hand.
"Where did you find that?" Chloe asked, but she didn't wait for answers before starting to sign it. It was just after she finished that she decided to look at the back. She paused for a moment. She thought it was a mistake or just a joke until she heard someone speak.
"I hope you like my surprise." You said this after you noticed she was too stunned to speak. Hearing your voice brought the winger back to reality; she looked at you, more surprised and happy than she ever was.
She didn't wait too long before she trapped you in a bone-crushing hug. You stayed like this for a few seconds until she pulled away, immediately closing the gap between you with a lovely kiss.
"I missed you too, mi corazon." You said after you pulled away when oxygen was needed.
"But what are you doing here, and most importantly, what is this?" She asked and showed you the shirt she just signed.
"Let's just say that I have a new team, and I wanted to announce it to you before you see it on the internet." You replied.
"So it's not a joke? We'll really play together next season?" She asked like it was the most unthinkable thing in the world.
"Yes, we will." You confirmed.
"But, Barcelona, and your sister?"
"Well, yeah, I'm really impatient to play with my sister again, but I think it can wait a little longer. And technically, I'm more related to Athletico Madrid than Barça."
"I don't know what to say. It's incredible; I would never believe that this day would come." She cupped your face and pressed her lips against yours just before being interrupted by her teammate.
"Traitor!" Ella yelled, making you laugh.
"Don't worry, I have another one for you." You said before throwing a shirt at her. She made a fake disgusting face, making you laugh again.
"I only keep it because you're my best friend." The United's players informed you.
"Yeah, yeah, but don't forget you also played for them."
"Sorry, I can't hear you." She said with her hands pressing against her ears.
"Okay, now I think you need to go, but don't worry, I'll come stay there to hopefully see you lift the trophy." You said to your girlfriend before giving her a last peck on the lips.
"I already miss you." The blonde striker said.
"I know; now go and win this for us."
"I promise."

warnings: fluff, christmas fic, talk of homophobia
a/n: i do not condone homophobia in any way, shape or form, this is just an imagine and is not reality
• part 1 • part 2
-----
three months after my coming out to lauren and i'd gathered up the courage to tell the whole team. they'd been more supportive then i ever could've imagined, lauren telling me a simple 'told you so.'
it was december now which meant winter break and returning to families and home countries for the holidays. all the girls were excitedly talking about their plans to see relatives, while i was sat in the corner, quiet.
my family had inadvertently gotten the confirmation they wanted, or not, when i posted a '23 photo dump on instagram. there was a multitude of photos from throughout the year, but one in particular showed me and lauren out at breakfast with some of the team.
we were sat next to each other and had somehow gotten our hands on a rainbow flag. alanna was sitting across from us and thought it was cute to take a photo.
my ma and my sister had messaged me almost immediately after the photos were posted. i expected the harsh words from my ma but my sister had tears welling in my eyes.
not to say the message from my ma didn't hurt, but it was the onslaught from my sister that sent me over the edge. that was roughly three weeks ago and i hadn't spoken to anyone in my family since.
"y/n are you good?" lauren sidled over to where i was sat on the beanbags we had in the city common room. she joined me and sat on the one next to me.
"mhm, i'm okay."
"you going back to australia for christmas?"
i knew someone would ask me about at one point or another, but it didn't make it hurt any less.
"no, i don't have any plans. just staying in the uk, i guess."
lauren knew something must have been up, because of how normally bubbly and sweet i was. but this me was different, depressed even.
"so your not going to see your family?"
"no i haven't spoke to them in almost a month."
"oh, shit. why?"
"they shunned me after they found out i was a lesbian."
that statement shocked lauren, she'd never thought that they'd ever go that far to reject me.
"did you want to come with me? spend christmas with my family instead?"
i was flattered by the offer and everything in me wanted to agree, wanted to go and have a nice christmas with her and her family. but i didn't want to be a bother.
"it's okay, i don't want to impose. thankyou for the offer though."
"nonsense, you've already met my family and they love you. i'm pretty sure my mother likes you more than me."
there wasn't much i could say to that, let alone to refuse the offer. so i gave in and agreed to come with her to see her family for christmas. we had one last training session of the year before we were off the hook until next year.
when the time to fly down to north walsham came, i was a bundle of nerves. lauren took my hand and gave me a soothing smile, assuring me i was not a burden and it would be a pleasure to have me over. i blushed at her comforting words, butterflies erupting in my stomach.
the flight wasn't too long, only a couple of hours.
once we arrived, lauren's sister amy was there to greet us. we hugged and she led us towards her car to drive us back to their house.
"lauren sit in the back, i'm talking to y/n."
amy left lauren to hop into the back seat with a cheeky grin, lauren feigning hurt but hopping in anyway. i chuckled at the sisters' antics and climbed in the front.
we finally got to their house after a laughter-filled drive there. both kevin and julie were outside, waiting to greet us when we pulled in.
"it's so great to see you again, y/n! come in so we can catch up."
kevin was less chatty but happy to have me nonetheless, giving me a hug and pat on the back. we all traipsed inside, me and lauren putting our bags in lauren's room.
we spent some time just settling in and catching up, before lauren pointed out that there was a christmas market on in the town and we should go. i thought that was a great idea, agreeing to go down with lauren. julie and kevin said they'd stay back to cook dinner for everyone and amy also declined as she had something else to do.
it was just me and lauren that were going but i was happy with that. the two of us walked down since it wasn't that far from the house. there was fairy lights strung up all along the streets and the stalls selling various things scattered down the roads. it was so pretty i took a picture to upload to my story.
as we walked down the markets i was looking around in awe, we didn't have much like this on the town where i was from. occasionally mine and lauren's hands brushed up against each other, our pinkies intertwining.
i felt the butterflies in my stomach again and looked over to lauren to see her glancing down at our hands.
since coming out to her she'd been more openly affectionate. it was like some part of her had to be touching me, whether it was a hug or just resting her arm around my waist, she was never that far away.
i wasn't complaining, i couldn't deny that i felt something there for the blonde englishwoman but i was just to nervy to say anything.
however i was considering just asking her, telling her how i felt. the setting of the markets made it feel so romantic, it was too good an opportunity to pass up. so i waited a little, until we were stood under a piece of mistletoe while buying sugar cookies.
"loz, look up."
i spoke to her softly. she looked above us and spotted the piece of greenery. looking back at me, she grinned.
"do you want to? we don't have to."
"no i want to."
and with that she leaned forward to connect our lips in a slow kiss.
it was way better than anything i've ever felt before. her lips were soft and sweet, moving against mine. we pulled apart slightly breathless and rosy-cheeked.
"does this mean you can be my girlfriend?"
"yes lauren, i can be your girlfriend."
i laughed slightly at her way of asking but agreed nonetheless, it was a long time coming.

W.C.- 3,2 k
People have always asked you why you’re so incredibly fast, is it because of your above average hamstrings or is it because of plyometrics?
To answer this question would be a pain in the ass, you could say that it was a little bit of everything. All throughout your life you’ve worked on strengthening your hamstrings and now it’s like they were made of steel. This was so that you could reduce the possibility of hamstring tears and other injuries to your legs. Plyometrics helped you with that explosive movement needed to drive forward and to be able to keep at that same speed throughout a longer period of time, though you only started using them later in life. Some people even thought that you were doping, but that was quickly debunked.
Though after you broke into the senior national team at the age of 16 the footballing community soon accepted that you were just speedy, especially for a youngster. Coming up through the youth groups along the likes of Jessie Fleming and Jordyn Huitema, you’d always been able to beat them in a footrace.
When Jessie went off to college, you thought the decision was perfect for her and that she could learn and evolve her game to adapt to the brutality of football in America. But, even though she wanted you to follow in her footsteps, having become almost like sisters after spending so much time together, with the college route that was not what happened. Instead of committing to play college ball, you declared for the NWSL draft as soon as you turned 18 where you were selected first overall to the Washington Spirits. It wasn’t that you were bad in school per se, you weren’t interested in playing at college level.
You played football during the days while you took online classes in the evenings, classes in sports science where you found out about plyometrics. Those exercises became a daily occurrence and you soon found yourself even faster than before along with having a better technique while running and jumping.
After 2 years with the club, a rookie of the year award, two consecutive NWSL MVP’s and two golden boots under your belt your contract with the club ended. You had two options, resign with the club that drafted you or take your talents to Europe who had top clubs in bidding wars for you. Rejecting clubs like PSG and Eintracht Frankfurt, you settled for following your former teammate Rose Lavelle and national teammate Janine Beckie to Manchester City, signing a record contract with the massive club.
And while it was seen as an escape from the lockdown in the U.S. for players like Rose, the club had won your heart like no other, or rather one person in it had. A certain English forward, speedy like hell, blonde hair, 163 cm tall.
Lauren Hemp had stolen your heart with her subtle stares and quick feet that danced across the pitch in a way that had you entranced.
Moving in with Janine Beckie after signing the contract in the summer of ‘20, you met the English forward exactly 2 days 8 hours 34 minutes and 28 seconds after you had stepped on that plane heading from Dulles to Manchester airport, not that you were keeping track. It was like you were in one of those rom-coms Rose liked so much, your eyes met hers across the field and it was like everything suddenly made sense.
You had only been broken out of the moment by a barreling Janine Beckie, heading straight for you with no apparent need to stop. You had let out a loud groan the second she made contact with you, bringing you both down to the ground with her momentum. Greeting her, you hear scattered laughs from all around the pitch and as you had gotten up your eyes drifted in an effort to meet her enticing ones again.
After that, you and Lauren had become the tightest knit pair in women's football, even tighter than the ones that had known each other way longer than the two of you had. You know exactly what the other will think before they think it, it’s like you can hear each other's thoughts because you can make each other roll on the floor in laughter with just one singular look. You were known as City’s dynamic duo and one of Manchester’s two dynamic duo’s along with Alessia Russo and Ella Toone all while dominating the league.
Now having been at City for 3 years you’re constantly reminded on how you made the right choice, getting to play with your favorite girls and continuing to win awards. One of those being an olympic gold with your national team, one of the best moments of your current international career. Lauren had decided not to return with the rest of the national team when they were knocked out of the tournament, choosing to come and support you instead as you played for the final.
She was the first one you ran to when you were let go to celebrate with your families, you didn’t have anyone else there as they were disapproving of having football as a job and deciding to freeze you out of family events while not going to any games. Although, Lauren and your national teammates were more than happy to fill that hole their absence left in your heart.
When Janine left for Portland in 2022 you felt quite lost for a while, your roommate and the person who had become more like a family member to you left. You felt betrayed for a while before coming to the realization that the move had nothing to do with you or the team, just that she had to leave for a situation that was better for her.
But still the formerly shared apartment felt too empty and eerie without another presence accompanying it. One morning, while walking into the training grounds with your favorite person she gives you an offer you just can’t refuse.
“I could always move in with you, you know. I mean if you want to, my lease expires in like 2 months and you’ve been complaining about the apartment being empty ever since Janine left and I know I won’t fill the space that she left-”
“I’d love for you to move in with me Tempo.” And that was the start of an even deeper understanding of each other, even more inside jokes than before and an inexplicable amount of protectiveness directed towards the shorter girl. You had already had little to no tolerance towards players going in for tackles that were more aggressive than needed or players targeting her, but when you moved in together that tripled.
The amount of yellow cards your mouth and subsequent protectiveness had earned you made Georgia look like an angel in comparison.
When the 21/22-season ended and you had signed another long term contract with the Manchester based club, you decided to go home to Canada for a bit as you were given some time off. You had promised to get back in time for the start of the Euros, and you were never one to break a promise.
So after a vacation where you had eventually went and visited your former roommate, you made your way back to England to watch your best girl and her national team hopefully lift the trophy at the end of July.
And like you had done the year prior, Lauren makes her merry way right into your arms with you being the first one she greets. And there you stand with her in your arms, just muttering reassurances and words of praise before releasing her to her parents. Now both of your medals hang together in your living room, right above your tv.
—-
Parting ways with Lauren has been hard ever since you met her, even if it only was for a week. But as you stand in her arms at the Manchester airport, you contemplate on not even taking the plane to France for the international friendly. She lets her grip on you go, letting her arms hang limp at her side from where they were just placed around your waist. But your grip doesn’t lessen, not wanting to leave her. The voice over the speakers calls out the number of your flight and the gate which you should find yourself in during the next few minutes. Giggling softly into your ear, she gives you a nudge to indicate that you should let go but you just do the opposite.
“You have to let go sweets. I love you and we’ll see each other after the break.” Her revelation has your heart beating out of your chest despite how many times it's been said between the two of you, never in the way you want to though.
“Love you too, so much my Hempo Tempo. I promise to sneak away to watch the Brazil game, maybe I can convince Jessie to watch it with me.” Your own confession has her heart beating restlessly in her chest as you finally let her go with a kiss to her temple. Hearing the last warning for your boarding ring out between the walls of the airport, you take your hand baggage and walk towards the gate. You don’t turn around, knowing that  you wouldn’t be able to board the plane.
The nearly 2 hour flight was incredibly boring and you spent most of your time restlessly sitting in your window seat, tapping rhythmically on the food board. When you finally arrive in France you’re ready to crash in your bed, having flown late at night, but you had promised to call your roomie to call her when you arrived in the star-shaped country.
You stay on the call until you’re laying in your hotel bed, under the covers and in your favorite hoodie of hers. It was oversized though for her, but the length fit you perfectly. And like usual you were roomed with Jessie, the older forward seemed to have a special power for getting you to calm from your hyper activeness.
As you’re dozing off you hear Lauren mutter out a quiet ‘I’m in love with you’, but your brain is way too tired to process the sentence before she hangs up the phone.
You nearly convince yourself that the confession was made up by your mind in a moment of vulnerability, especially when your flatmate acts like nothing happened the next day, texting her normal good morning. You stand your ground though, sure of what you heard her say over the phone.
Jessie can tell how distracted you are when you sit down with her for breakfast, your mind at a million places at the same time. She doesn’t push you to talk, contently sitting in the comfortable silence just waiting for you to crack up like you usually do when you have too much  on your mind and need someone to vent to.
“I think Lauren’s in love with me”, your whispered confession has Jessie looking towards you, a soft smile playing at her lips.
“What makes you think that?”, she replicates your tone, curious but not invasive, as she whispers back to you.
“Well, I’m pretty sure she confessed last night when I was on the brink of sleep. It’s also the way she acts around me, I haven’t really noticed it before but she’s always been more…”
“Affectionate?” The older Canadian finds the exact word you were searching for and you send her a quick grateful smile before continuing,
“Yeah, affectionate. My City teammates have pointed it out to me for a while now, but I’ve never really given it much thought, now after I heard what I heard I’ve been thinking a lot about our interactions.” Nodding in thought, Jessie asks the crucial question that you know has been at the tip of her tongue since you started the conversation.
“And how do you feel about it?” The question is one you have to think over long and hard, thousands of emotions swirling around in your head making your judgment clouded. It seems like everyone knows exactly what you’re feeling, except you.
“I don’t know, I mean my head is saying one thing and my heart a completely different thing. Everything’s so divided and I don’t know what I feel at the end of the day.” The words are spoken through short breaths and quick movements, indicating your stress.
“What is it that your heart is saying?”
You reply without thinking as your heart clearly takes the reins of your body before your mind takes over again.
“That I’m completely and utterly in love with her”
“And your mind?”
“That I’m in love with her but that she doesn’t love me back and that I have no chance with her.”
“You should know that letting your heart take over every once in a while isn’t a bad thing. Everyone can see how much you love each other, your mind is always going to make up insecurities and lies just so that you don’t step out of your comfort zone. But your heart” She puts her index finger right above where your heart is beating steadily, “is always going to tell you the truth. And now it’s telling you that you love her, so just listen for once.”
“When did you become so wise?”, you’re back to your joking ways, retreating back into yourself as things become real all of a sudden but you take Jessie’s advice to heart.
“I always have been, you’ve just always been too slow to understand. Come on now we’ve gotta go to training.”
—-
A few days later you find yourself sitting in your hotel room sending Lauren a good luck text, all your teammates sitting at various points around the room waiting for the game to start. Somehow they had all overheard you when you were asking Jessie about the game, which led to them inviting themselves into your hotel room to watch the game with you.
You pay extra attention to the small rapid forward of the England squad, watching as her feet carry her all over the pitch. Small exclamations are let out as the Brazil players are more rough than necessary, not just towards your best friend.
Your cheers bounce around the small room as Lucy assists Ella for the first goal of the match, your usual rival playing for Lauren’s team which means that she’s in your good book for the night. When the whistle for half-time blows you sigh a quick sigh of relief, not having to see anyone get battered even more.
As the second half starts you’re at the edge of your seat, Brazil coming out blazing while England just manage to stop their attempts. What happens in the 88th minute of the game completely takes your attention from everything else.
As Lauren’s going in for a header, the Brazilian player's body is in the way and her elbow smacks right into her nose. You can see how the blood is gushing from her nose as she goes down, and your breath hitches in worry. Frozen in your place, the camera zooms in on her face as blood rushes from her nose and down into her mouth and you can feel how the bile is rising in your throat.
This wasn’t the reaction your teammates were expecting, just sitting there completely zoned out, they were expecting a furious Y/n storming around the room shouting in all directions. But they leave you be after a stern look from Jessie, the girl having moved beside you for comfort. You can’t focus for the rest of the game, not as Brazil equalizes or during the pens.
Getting the ‘i’m okay’ text did little to assure you, but ultimately you had to believe her as you couldn’t fly out to check if she was actually okay. During the nightly facetime call you observed how she seemed to be in a bit of pain, even though she was slightly loopy from the painkillers she had been given to combat the obvious source of hurt.
The rest of the international break goes by fast, Canada drawing 2-2 with France off a brace from yours truly and England losing for the first time in 30 games with a 2-0 loss to Australia. And if you’re being honest, you were waiting for the chance to go home now.
Packing your bags, you’re off to the airport towards Manchester, and this time the flight felt like 18 hours instead of 2. But you make it to Manchester and the only thing you want to do now is to embrace Lauren and do as Jessie told you.
Luckily enough for you, Lauren had promptly told you that she would pick you up from the airport, no argument from you there. Now the only thing you need to do is find her in the sea of bodies.
A familiar squeal sounds behind you and you turn around just in time to catch a sprinting Lauren in your arms, careful to not bump her nose in the process. You lift her in a tight hug, just cherishing her company that you’ve missed oh so much. Eventually, you put her back onto the floor before making a split second decision.
Taking her face in your hands, you let your heart take over as you pull her into a sweet kiss, the kiss being everything it’s supposed to be. When you don’t feel her reciprocate you start to pull away, thinking that maybe Jessie had been wrong anyways and that Lauren didn’t like you back. It seems like Lauren comes to her senses at the last second though as she pulls you closer by putting her hands on your waist, tilting her head up slightly so that you don't have to lean down as much and pressing her lips more firmly into yours.
Pulling away from her has a whine escaping her lips as she goes up on her tippy toes to press a few quick pecks against your lips. This whole situation taints your lips with a permanent smile and as the girl opposite you asks a question you can’t help but tell her the truth.
“What was that for, bubs? Not that I didn’t enjoy it…”
“Well my dear Hempo, I followed my heart and it led me to you. You’re the reason why my heart beats a little faster and why my palms get sweaty, you’re the reason why I sometimes stumble over my words and why I can’t seem to focus when we’re in the same room. I am completely and utterly in love with you, and if I heard you right then I think you feel the same way.”
“You heard that?” Only giving a nod in response, you clasp her hand in yours as you stroll to the exits of the large airport. Out of nowhere, you let out a hum before speaking up,
“You know what they say Tempo, ‘the airport has seen more genuine kisses than a wedding hall’, I think we just proved that my love.”
Y'all better pray for me, I finished writing this instead of studying for my test tomorrow, but I hope you all like it as much as I do :) also gif is hilarious

Lauren Hemp x Aussie! Reader
Warnings: fluff, but awkward.
A/N — I know Caroline Weir scored the two goals in the Man City game that I talk about, but I've changed it a bit :)

Growing up in Australia was among the greatest privileges you had as a child.
Even in the midst of your career — a job you've dreamed of since you were little — your home soil was indescribable; nothing could beat the familiarity of home.
When the 2023 World Cup was announced to take place in Australia, you were feeling the effects of homesickness after six long months in Europe. You were signed by Manchester City at Nineteen, playing a critical midfield position after being a regular sub for your old club back in Australia. Your parents were sceptical of you leaving so early to such a big club. In no way were you prepared to face the challenges of adulthood as a whole other country, on the opposite side of the Earth.
You had only been playing for the Matildas for a couple of months when you were first signed to City, and it wasn't until the following year when your fellow Aussie teammates Alanna, and eventually Hayley and Mary, that you had the comfort of home to nurture you during rough patches.
Your family was your biggest supporter. Growing up, they sacrificed everything to meet the needs of their football journey. Your parents would leave early from work early to take you to training and surrender endless personal endeavours so that you could prosper in your dreams of going pro. You were very grateful for all that they had done, and as a result, their sacrifices became your motivation to be the best you could possibly be. You lived and breathed football. Everything revolved around football.
But when you moved to City, you found yourself stuck in a trance by a certain English Blonde.
For the most part, you kept to yourself at training. You didn't want to cause any trouble, and it seemed that most of the girls knew each other from youth squads, prior teams, or roommates at National Camps. You struggled to find your place in the squad at first. Being a relatively young team, you had lots of girls around your age, willing to be your friend, but the absence of home and lack of connection to the United Kingdom combined to make your personality shrink under a dismissive persona.
When Alanna joined City, you offered your apartment to her, having come from North London beforehand. Over the next months, you found comfort in the familiar Aussie accent, finding solace in the sliver of home you felt so distant to.
You still remained shy at training, trying hard and pushing out of your comfort zone every time someone had a conversation with you. Alanna found it hard to believe how introverted you were, having seen your confidence shine at Matilda’s Camps, and the Manchester Girls couldn't believe their ears when Alanna told them about how you were at home.
When Hayley came, you were smiling more. It wasn't that you weren't happy at City before the Australian girls arrived. You were thriving. In the 2020/21 season, you were dubbed as Young Player of The Year and had four ‘Player Of The Match’ awards under your belt. You worked extremely hard to make the starting eleven regularly, and people would often compliment your subtle but impressionable skills on the field. You weren't fast, but you were technical. You thought of the play that hadn't happened yet, shaping the game with unexpected yet calculated crosses. For two years, you had the second most assists in the WSL, merely missing Beth Mead.
In all honesty, the effects of having the reminder of home did help to boost your performance not only on the pitch but behind the scenes as well.
You can remember tapping your hands against the rim of your cubby, your home kit baggy on your figure. It was a very important game today — the final of the FA Women’s League Cup — against reigning champions Chelsea. You were starting, and your family had flown over to watch.
Your nerves upon walking out were tremendous. This was your first time starting in a final in the WSL. You don't remember a time you felt your hands shake this much. Alanna and Hayley were preparing for the match on either side of you, their faces impassive when both teams lined up in the tunnel of Cherry Rose Records Stadium.
Your heart was thumping out of your chest, palms sweating as you took your spot on the field.
When the whistle blew, you tuned everything out.
A powerful shot from Sam Kerr left Chelsea in the lead halfway through the first half. You tried hard to maneuver your way through the likes of Charles and Ingle, passing to Georgia and Keira as you struggled to pass Chelsea’s defence. Lucy was given a yellow which heightened the tension reeling in the stands. You buried the apprehensive bile rising in your stomach when the halftime whistle blew, signalling everyone to rush back to the changing rooms.
You placed your head in your hands, taking slow, desperate sips of your water bottle as you listened to the pep talks from all the players. Gareth Taylor, your manager, was shouting encouragement from across the room, staring into each and every one of your eyes, assuring the team that they could make a comeback.
“I want you to want this.” He said, circling the room with so much fervour that the room felt warmer. “I want to see the determination in your eyes. I want to see it in the tackles, the plays, the kicks, everything. The opportunities you making are good, they just need more precision.”
It was almost the start of the second half when Gareth asked for you, leading you over to the other side of the changing rooms, towards the shorter figure of one of your teammates.
Lauren looked just as nervous as you, but you hoped that you his your nerves a little better than her. Her blonde hair was held up in a pony, and small wisps of baby hairs framed her face after being exempted from the wind. She was a year older than you but has been in Manchester since 2018. Other than the odd, unusual sentence or two, neither of you had properly interacted.
Lauren looked up at you, her beady eyes locking with yours as she licked her lips, exchanging glances with the floor and you, awaiting the purpose of the conversation.
“I want you two to work together this half.” Your Manager urged. Both you and Lauren looked at him in surprise. He must've caught on since he held his hands up. “I know we haven't practised much between the two of you, I know. But Y/N, your crosses over the head of Chelsea defenders will inevitably shape up some opportunities for Hempo. Lauren, you know what to do when something comes up. I believe that truly, alright? Do you understand?”
You were still mulling over Gareth’s words when the whistle blew for the second half, but you felt an uncertain pair of eyes look out for where you kicked the ball. The surveillance of the English forward did not irk you. In fact, it pushed you to do as you were told.
It was two minutes in when an opportunity arose. You were given the ball by Alanna, who had pelted it away after a scary interaction with her and Kerr.
Gareth’s words played in your head, taunting you as the blonde’s eyes watched your actions intently. You were hesitant to do as he said. This was the one game your parents were here to see. Never once had they been to Europe, having not had the money to be able to fund both your football and fancy holidays overseas. You wanted to make them proud. You didn't want to risk such an important opportunity for it to go out or concede and let your team down.
You found Georgia and kicked it by her. She followed it up the middle of the field, passing it to one of your forwards, hand up in celebration when it went past the Goalie.
But for some reason, you couldn't find it in you to celebrate. You refused to meet the eyes of Lauren, who was no doubt throwing you a disappointed glance. You could feel the betrayal radiating in violent waves. You ran back to your starting position without a peep, determined to shake the guilt with another chance. You needed to win this game. You’d do whatever it took to do so.
Another goal from Ellen White led your team one in front, but it gave no comfort whatsoever in a game like this. If anything, it put the stakes higher. You hated penalties, the feeling of dread and anxiety filling you everything you watched each player attempt to concede. Even more so, you hated taking penalties. The possibility of that happening was enough to motivate you even more.
Guro Reiten was subbed off for Lauren James. A fresh pair of legs was dangerous coming up to the seventieth minute.
Chelsea was drawing closer and closer to equalizing with your second goal, causing an uprise in the tension between both the teams and the people watching. You grew more angsty when one of their attempts hit the crossbar, but when it landed near Keira’s feet, being shot past to where you stood, you knew this was now or never.
You sprinted down the wing with Georgia by your side, but you were only focused on the blonde in front of you.
“Here! Here!” Georgia screamed, holding out her hand to signal to you that she was ready. You contemplated it. There had been many times when Georgia had done that, and you had crossed the ball to her, and she had easily swished it past the goalie. You never doubted Georgia for a second, and you definitely knew she would've been able to shoot from where she was — she was clearly onside. But the Chelsea defenders had studied your gameplay back to front, and the same old cross to Georgia was something they had trained for — something you had trained for.
Something clicked in your mind when you met Lauren’s eyes. Something ignited inside of you. She must've felt it too, because she didn't even reach her hand up to signal towards you.
You both just knew what was happening. And that it would work. It had to work.
Without much thought, you kicked the ball to your right, watching as Chelsea gaped in alarm at the unsuspected pass and turn to and from Lauren.
You held your breath, stationery at the sight of Lauren’s risky attempts. She found a steady pace along the sideline stepping past Jess Carter, keeping her back turned to the goal. She used the back of her heel to trick both Carter and Berger. She had scored. Manchester City were winning 3-1.
You were the first to scream, a massive smile on your face as you ran towards Lauren, who spun to find you amidst the swarm of Chelsea players.
The two of you ran into each other with so much force that you both toppled to the ground, rolling around as the rest of your team piled on top of you.
The girls were screaming, you could hear the distant cheers of people in the stands. You heard Lauren’s exhausted huffs as you shovelled your head into her neck. Neither of you said anything. You both just had the silent agreement that what you did was game-changing, and that the non-existent relationship between you was no longer.
Despite the desperate attempts from the London team, the final whistle blew with the score maintaining a healthy lead. Your legs gave out as soon as the game ended, tears threatening to spill from your eyes and onto your cheeks as the weight of the season lifted from your shoulders. You felt a pair of arms lift you up, turning you around. The hug was only recently familiar, but tangible nonetheless.
Lauren held her arms around your waist, leaving you to collapse your arms over her shoulders. You watched her chest rise and fall, however, so slowly, a few choked sobs rang out from the older girl.
“I thought you weren't ‘gonna pass to me.” She said. You don't remember her ever speaking to you directly, but the attention made you blush.
“You could've gotten a double if I did.” You uttered, pulling her out of the hug. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be.” She replied, her cheeks also dusted pink. “I'm just glad it was your assist.”
You wondered if she was trying to make you flustered because you noticed how fidgety she got when you eyed her nervously.
“I mean like— I like you— wait, no, well— I like your assist-”
“Same. I mean— I'm glad you scored from my assist. Like— okay wait that doesn't make sense.”
“I get what you’re saying. That's what I meant.” Lauren muttered back, rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment. “I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to assist me… in goals.”
“Yeah, same… in goals, yeah.”
Little did you know, your Aussie teammates Hayley and Alanna were standing next to Keira and Georgia, all overlooking the inept exchange between the two of you.
“God, you call that flirting.” Georgia laughed, the other three chuckling along. “Wouldn't want to see what their dates would look like.”
“Bloody painful, that's what.” Alanna sounded, taking a picture of the two of you.
“Wouldnt of expected anything different, to be honest. Both as awkward as each other.” Keira spoke.
And you were as awkward as each other, but that made for the perfect pair. A home away from home.

Broken Arm Because of you - Lauren Hemp
It was 1-1 and I needed to put United ahead we had 15 minutes and I had a chance, I was sprinting down the field with the ball at my feet with know one close to me so I thought, I had so much energy because of the fans chanting my name. I was half way through the field until I saw I shadow, who was it I thought, it doesn't matter just keep running I thought, they were making me think if I should pass or if I take an outside shot I started to panic messing up my dribbling, get back on top of it controlling the ball I feel my feet fly up, it feels like I'm 6ft in the air and immediately my arm hits the ground and immediate pain rushes through my arm. My eyes shut who tackled me I thought I was in so much pain all I could here was yelling and then I realised who it was by the apologetic voice
"Piss of Hempo it was unnecessary why the hell would you go in for a tackle like that" Tooney say shoving Hempo of balance but not enough to knock her down
"It was an accident I swear tooney" Lauren said shocked her national teammate is pushing her around
"Yeah right hempo we get you wanna win but you take it to far with the tackles, you know it, shes probably got a broken arm thanks to you" Tooney replied pushing Lauren harshly again
Alessia grab tooney trying to chill her out, whilst Esme was consoling Hempo who you could tell felt incredibly guilty but United players weren't letting her near me.
The ref came over and gave Lauren an immediate Red and United fans were cheering whilst city fans were booing. As all that happened i was in so much pain on the floor my arm was numb but also so sore I couldn't even describe the pain I was in. I don't cry a lot but I couldn't help it. Medics came rushing over as they saw I wasn't getting up. One touched my arm and I practically screamed from the pain. Teammates huddled around until told to go back to the sidelines whilst two stayed back Ona at my ankles holding the so I don't move around to much them and Alessia at my head rubbing the sides
"It's gonna be okay you'll be fine alright" Ona said
"No not everything's gonna be okay my arms probably broken" I barely say through the tears
"Just chill you don't even that yet it's probably a light sprains it most likely the shock" Alessia says looking hopelessly at Ona and the medics
My eyes were shut but I could feel the looks the medics were giving Alessia when she said that "it's not broken".
Hempo POV
"Piss of Hempo it was unnecessary why the hell would you go in for a tackle like that" Tooney say shoving me of balance but not enough to knock me down thankfully
"Tooney chill I swear it was an accident" I say in a panic trying to get to Y/N but there was a bunch of United girls huddling around her
""Yeah right hempo we get you wanna win but you take it to far with the tackles and you know it, shes probably got a broken arm thanks to you" She says pushing me with pure aggression and she probably would have done it again until Alessia pulled her back.
Then something happened that I didn't want to happen the ref came over and an immediate RED card was given, my head went back covering my face I was getting to emotional for this game.
I tried to get to Y/N but Esme turned me around
"Don't bother, talk to her after okay you need to chill you'll get in all you emotions and it will make it worse for the both of you" she said grabbing my arm and walking me of the field with the other teammates.
Y/N POV:
It was my arm that hurt why they made me go on a stretcher was not clear to until I saw my legs were pissing blood. Great another thing to add to the list
1. Broken arm - checked
2. Headache - checked
3. Bleeding legs - checked
I look like I've been in a crime scene after the game finished the girls were going to go to the medical room until they found out I went straight to hospital. Player from each team went home whilst Tooney, Lessi and Ona went straight to the hospital with my stuff the. Ona and lessi were much more chilled out about the situation then Tooney was she was still pissed at Hempo.
Hempo's POV
I felt terrible going home with Esme driving it was silent until she spoke
" I would drive you to the hospital but I wouldn't want Tooney to break you bones so maybe message Lessi when there leaving" she says as we stop at a red light she gives me a Esme Morgan smile
"Okay but what if Y/N doesn't want to see me she's probably pissed at me" I say rethinking my decision to message Alessia
"I think she would be more mad if you didn't talk to her about it at all" Esme said
"Yeah alright that's probably true" I reply with a smile growing in my face
Lessi over Messi 😂😊
Me: Hey Lessi sorry about today but I do want to see Y/N but I don't think Tooney wants to see me to I think it would be best if you could maybe message me when you guys had left or are leaving the hospital but I totally understand if you don't want to talk to me
Lessi over Messi😂😊: hey Hempo there's no need to apologise you didn't do it on purpose and besides Tooney was in a fired up mood before that even happen it just gave her a reason to blow of some steam but yeah for sure I'll message you when we left  also don't stress I'm sure she won't be mad at you where going into her hospital room not 😊
Me: Okay thanks less I appreciate it
Y/N POV:
I was sat on the hospital bed after getting a cast on my arm as well as my legs being fully cleaned up. Gosh how much I hate the hospital, I hate the environment, I hate the bed, I hate the room, I hate the reason I'm here and I hate having to be here. The nurses and doctors were nice and don't get me wrong it was nice serves but I was waiting on a certain person to get here. The doctors just left but the door was reopening so I assumed that it was him again but no a but I light to me depressing end of the day Ona, Alessia and Tooney came in with my game bag
"Hiya Chica" Ona said with a smile trying to light up my dopey mood
"Hi" I reply with a light smile
The girls and I chat for a bit about incident and what I was feeling and what it looked like
"I'm surprised Lauren didn't go over you" Ona say because I don't think she saw what happened between Tooney and Hempo
"Did you not see Tooney and Hempo" Alessia questioned
"No why what happened" she asks looking at Tooney who had a guilty look in her face
"The second she went down she screamed in pain right"
"Right"
"Well I got mad at her because of the slide tackle there were other ways she could have done it and it wouldn't have led to a broken bone"
"Eh hem " I say knowing there is more to the story
"Well I told her to piss of and that it was an unnecessary tackle and I pushed her off her balance a couple of times so what she took it to far" Tooney say realising she took it a little to far
"And I took it to far with the yelling and pushing" she says guilty
"Oh look at that no one had to convince you for once" Alessia said laughing
After around 3 hours of sitting there chatting about other stuff the girls decided they would be best if they go now considering you didn't have to stay at the hospital that night you wanted to get out soon but still had to check for infections in you legs because of some of the deep cuts.
"Omg can we sign your cast" Tooney says with the biggest grin. Oh how I wanted to say no but i felt to mean
"Gosh whatever I don't think I have a say" i reply
Tooney face looked like she was 10 and just met her favourite Celebrity for god sakes. Ona seemed confused but watched what Lessi did and did the same
"Why do I feel like I'm in year 4 and I'm the cool kid with the broken arm"I say laughing
"Because you are just not in year 4" Ona says not understanding the joke which makes us all laugh while she stands there confused.
The girls leave
Alessia quick POV:
Hempo
Me:
Hey Hempo leaving now but you might want to leave now because traffic is really slow and she was walking about wanting to leave by 12am and well it is 11 on the dot so you might get there before she leaves but now I think about it she doesn't have a ride we offered she said no so I think she's waiting on someone 😏 or maybe going to ask someone anyways night
Hempo:
Thankyou Alessia I really do appreciate it.😊❤️
Hempo'S POV
I was walking out the door after yelling to Esme that I'll message her if I bring Y/N back with me or if I go to hers. I was in the car thinking about how I'm going to apologise saying it over an over again until I thought it was perfect. I don't know what Alessia was talking about the traffics fine. I still had around 35 minutes before 12 o'clock I'm just praying she hadn't left yet
I arrived at the hospital and checking at the front desk she still here when the nurse said what floor and room she was in I was so happy because I could finally apologise to her. Walking to the elevator and pressing the button, the doors opened and out walked Y/N she had a united hoodie over her and the sleeve bit was covering her cast just showing the hand part of it. She looked at me whilst walking out of the elevator.
"What are you doing here" she asked like she was surprised I showed up
"Well I wanted to come see you" I replied
"Why didn't you come after the game and not hours and hours later"
"I-i well Tooney was here and I didn't want to start anything again because it would have caused you more stress and well that's why I didn't push back when Tooney was there because I didn't want anything really bad to happen and"
"You where scared of Tooney" she said with a slight smile
"Wha no I I wasn't scared of Tooney" I say tryibn TK hide that I was terrified of her
"Lier you were" she said smiling making me know she's not mad at me
" okay fine maybe a little bit but I feel really bad okay I didn't mean do it to happen I just didn't think about the consequences and i did practically the same tackle on Alessia and nothing happened but I timed it wrong and just did it wrong in general and I should have I should have just got infront of you and done something, I am really sorry" I say with a apologetic look
"I know you are and I mean it was and accident so I'm not mad about it but it just sucks I can't play the last 3 games if the season before break" she says disappointed
" I'm really really really sorry I don't know what I can do to make it up to you but whatever it is done"
"You could take me home"
"Done but give me your bag not that I want to see spotted holding a united bag but it's the least I can do I guess" I say grabbing the bag from her
We walk out to my car and although she said take me to her home she's injured and she doesn't room with anyone at her house so she's coming home with me.
Esme 😊🎹
Me: She said go to her hour but for maybe just tonight I was thinking best for her to stay with us that alright
Esme: yeah no problem I wouldn't of cared if you showed up with her without telling me 😊
We took the opposite turn to Y/Ns house and she immediately notice where we were going I didn't tell her because I didn't want her to think she was intruding but she immediately said that
"Hempo, babe that the wrong turn" she said point to were just was "supposed" to go
"I know I'm taking you too my house" I say not making it a big deal
"Wha why I don't want to" I interrupted her
"Intrude your not, it's fine just checked with Esme that nothing was happening and she doesn't mind"
"Are you positive" she said
"Positive" I say giving her a glimpse
We arrived at the apartment and we made our way to the 5 floor. I got to the door and went through my pockets to not find the keys
"Damit" I say realising I left the keys in my car again the amount of time Esme has gotten annoyed at me for it was uncountable. I knocked on the door
"HEMPO did you leave your keys in the car again" Esme yells from inside
"Uhh it won't happen again i swear es"I say laughing and looking at Y/N
"hello there" Esme say opening the door with a smile
Y/N POV
We chatted and sat on the couch talking about the injury dates and how long I'm out for until Hempo starts to fall asleep on the couch Esme and I lightly laugh at her
"Take a photo es and please send it to me I can't do Jack shit with my left hand" I say laughing.
"Will do" she says taking a picture of Hempo crashed out in the couch
We both end up crashing out on the couch Esme at in end whilst I'm lying with Lauren.
